American English

Had SO much fun, seeing American English. Don't go to many concerts, but surely didn't want to miss out on this Beatles Tribute Band! They put on a very entertaining show, ( for any age group). Concert was on time, and the intermission was "just long enough". A very memorable night, for my twin & I !! Hope to see them again, when they come back to Holiday Star Plaza.

One of the better Beatle look-alike/sound-alike bands. Some physical resemblance. Instrumentation quite good and for the most part, vocals (including harmonies) were spot on.

We always enjoy their performance, we recommend this group to any Beatle fan! Took 12-13 year olds this time and they loved it!

The American English did a great job; not only artistically, but entertaining. The crowd reacted very well to their performance, and everyone around us appeared to be having a wonderful time remembering the greatest band ever through The American English

Loved the variety of instruments and songs. The costumes added to the enjoyment of the concert and brought back great memories of the 60's.

I have seen many Beatles tribute bands and American English is by far my favorite. Each member is a strong singer and proficient instrumentalist, but they also all mesh well with one another into a seamless whole. Their backing vocals, which are one of the trademarks of the Beatles music, are impeccable and their attention to detail is second to none. I also enjoy the fact that they play not only the Beatles hits, but also some of their less well-known material; their repertoire is vast and varied, such that each time you see them, the show has a slightly different character, which keeps the audience interested and the band itself fresh. I attended their shows at the Casino Queen on Thursday 10/29 and Friday 10/30 and thought they were terrific. The song selection was adventurous on Thursday, a little more hits-oriented on Friday, but they played several songs each night that might intimidate a less talented band and all were executed perfectly. Their energy level was crackling and they exuded a sense of fun, which spread out to the appreciative, sold-out audience, who were singing and dancing along. They navigated their way through the songs of the Beatles early period, their psychedelic era and their later years with equal ease. I would highly recommend this band to anyone who enjoys the music of the Beatles. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

So lately Ive listened to a lot of the Beatles music because I got most of their remastered albums. Also, my boyfriend is pretty particular and discerning about his music, and he has listened to the Beatles consistantly for the past month and a half. We were both blown away by the accuracy of American English. They hit every note musically and vocally. Instruments from the piano to the sitar! These guys rocked it, and I'm 23 so they're the closest thing to the Beatles I'll evere see. Well worth the $20, I would have paid twice that!

Absolutely fantastic venue and concert. Only drawback was the breaks - a little too long.

This is the 2nd time I've seen American English. You just can't find 3+ hours of entertainment at this level of great!! I've seen Beatles "Love" Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas which was a couple of hundred dollars and while it was good, these guys just blow you away and the ticket price leaves enough for you to enjoy some cool beverages too!

I would have to say they are amazing. They are so in tune with eachother. Just close your eyes and feel like your back in time hearing the Beatles!!! 2 thumbs up

I've seen American English many times. They are incredable. I was just dissapointed in the sound at the Star. Not balenced well. Couldn't hear the base, too high end on the acoustic guitar, and the "5th" Beatle sometimes drowned out the vocals. I've heard them at other venuse with a much better sound balence. Kind of surprised me about the Star. I was also dissapointed they only did 2 of their 3 sets.

Great show! Very talented, great tribute to the Beatles. The guy who performed as George in my opinion was by far the best. His rendition of Here Comes the Sun was great.

Sitting there, with your eyes closed, you would think you were at a Bettles concert. These guys really have it together, right down to the guitars they use. Costumes were as close as it gets also. Brought back a lot of memories of when I was 9 years old, watching their first show on the Ed Sullivan Show, on that Sunday evening in 1964, when 70 million others saw it. Second half took you back to your teenage years. I would go to see them again.

We were in Celeb Circle - Sound quality could have been better - you couldn't understand what they were saying at times - We were at the very end of the stage - couldn't see much -

American English rocked the house with their fabulous lyrics and playing. They are a group of extremely talented musicians in their own right and the care they take with the details involved to recreate the Beatles music is outstanding.

This is our third time seeing American English and we have never been disappointed. These guys are great. Not only do they have the looks, they have the music and mannerisms down pat. A real tribute to the Beatles, especially on the 50th anniversary. It takes me back to the sixties when I first saw the Beatles at Comiskey Park. Absolutely worth the ticket admission if you get the chance.

Last minute selection of concert after potential personal conflicts were cleared away. Completely different show from what I saw a couple of years ago. Loved the new selection of songs. Great use of Beatle love songs in the program for Valentine's Day. A lot of crowd participation (dancing and singing). Liked the interaction of the group with the crowd. All songs were played magnificently. Brought back the good old days. Group is definitely a must see.!!

If I closed my eyes, I would have thought I was listening to the Beatles. The music was fantastic. They not only sounded like the Beatles but resembled them as well. I would totally recommend AE to anyone who grew up with and loved the Beatles!

We at front row center and could not have asked for a better show, Saw them last year and this year the band really seemed to be into the crowd. Great time.

It has been three years in a row now seeing this incredible band at the Star Plaza. I wish they would play there more often than just once a year. This band is amazing to say the least.

I had never seen American English live but I talked to a number of people who had and said this was a good show. I have been in music for a very long time, I had performed in the 60's with a group called The Exports and I am very critical of the performances of shows that I attend. I can't say enough about these guys. I was absolutely amazed with there ability to re create a live Beatles experience and I will never forget that night. On top of the excellent performance they brought back more memories of the best time in my life that I could ever imagined was possible. If you ever have a chance to see American English don't pass it up.

AWESOME PERFORMANCE! It's amazing how they sound like the real Beatles! I enjoyed the costume changes too! I'm going to bring more family and friends to the show next time they come to Holiday Star Theater! Including the audience was GREAT!

This was amazing, covering all eras of the greatest band ever. Music was spot on and as true to the original as possible. Nothing was left to be desired by the end of the night, and I'm sure the band was exhausted by putting on such a lengthy, high energy show.

I attended with my sister and a friend. We sat in the middle of the auditorium. When the music started we could not believe that people were going to remain seated! The music was spot on and we knew we could not sit still! We stood for one song and realized that no one was going to get up so we exited to an aisle and danced the rest of the night away! We even got others to join us dancing around the theater. We made it so fun for ourselves but we were amazed that others could sit throught the show. The band seemed unengaged with the audience but continued to play awesome tunes. I suppose their lack of eye contact could be because they do these shows so often that they are sort of bored with the repetition? Not sure. Music, awesome...worth seeing again and yes, I would recomend the show to others.

great group of guys, very talented reminded me of the group I saw in the early eighty's Beatlemania at the blackstone theatre and then again at the holiday star theatre! Wouls love to see again!!!!!!

This is our second time to American English show at the Holiday Star. They dressed and looked so much like the Beatles! The music was wonderful! Loved hearing them play the different years of popular Beatles music. I absolutely love the early years of Beatles music! Anticipating for them to come back next year and inviting some friends along.

Between their costumes, mannerisms and outstanding musical talents, American English is a must see for any lover of Beatles music. Each band member brought incredible talent to the group. It was incredibly entertaining and I would definitely go to see them perform again!!

American English is a great band. I only wish now that I moved to AZ I could see them here locally instead of driving to Cerritos, CA or Albuquerque, NM. I should be so lucky. I miss all the great shows when I was in IL and went to see them constantly. Never tired of them and just love their band. I think they sound AS GOOD AS the Beatles. I truly do. I do not know why anyone would write them a bad review they are wonderful. Totally worth your time. I never went away disappointed.

THE ELVIS IMPERSONATOR WAS GREAT,WOULD GO SEE BRANDON BENNETT AGAIN,UNFORTUNATELY AMERICAN ENGLISH DISAPPOINTED US. THIS BEING THE 4TH TIME SEEING THEM PREFORM, EITHER THEY CHANGED PERSONNEL OR ELVIS WAS JUST SO GOOD IT MADE THEM LOOK BAD. CANT IMAGINE BEATLES GOING ON STAGE WITHOUT SINGING "HEY JUDE" LOOSE THE SARGENT PEPPER CRAP! AND MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE MADE THE CURTAIN CALL THAT AUDIENCE REQUESTED.(I DONT KNOW WHY)

American English is worn out. They only did 2 of their 3 usual sets and cheated the audience out of the best songs. The "Paul" seemed too tired to put any energy into his part and was just dialing it in. He even was checking his watch towards the end! So sorry the audience bored him! Should not have had to pay full price for 2/3 concert.

Brandon Bennett did a GREAT job performing Elvis's songs, and his backup group was outstanding. There were times when we thought we were watching the real Elvis. As for the American English, they were very good also, but their performance time on stage seemed short.

Went to this show at the Genesee Theater in Waukegan Il. My wife and I are huge Beatles fans and got 3rd row seats. We've seen American English before and always enjoyed them...but at this show, the opening act was definitely the big star. I had never seen Brandon Bennett before but we were blown away by his performance. He really put on a stage show. Something lacking from American English. All the music and vocals from both acts were spot on but Brandon was much more entertaining. He should be the headliner in this combo.

American English was very good. But what was not good was that they only played for an hour. I was disappointed because I can see them in the summer for free and get a longer show that what was at the Genesee. I know this probably isn't American English's fault but I was still disappointed.

American English was ok, but they should have played longer and there should have been an encore. (they normally give an encore when I have seen them) Brandon Bennett was wonderful as Elvis.... he deserves his own show!

Both acts were very entertaining, faithfully reproducing the music, costumes and settings. I was very disappointed that American English was only allowed to play half of their show that we had seen this summer for free. Given the price of the tickets I had expected to see the entire show. I will go see them again but I doubt I would go back to this venue, whoever scheduled this really shortchanged most of the audience who paid to see the Beatles tribute and got a longer set from the Elvis tribute.

American English was especilly good. Brandon Bennett's portrail of Elvis was exceptional. His voice, and manorisims were perfect. I would definately recommend this show.

The show was very good but I wish they had a backdrop. The presentation needed work. Just a little boring. The guys however, were very talented.

The sounds and attention to detail was amazing. My friend and I took 4 of our married children with us (one of which is a Beatles crazed young man) and they totally enjoyed it as well. I can't wait to see them again. Great show!!

Wasnt sure what to expect from this but I left feeling as if I had been at a Beatles concert. I highly recommend this show to anybody even if you arent a Beatles fan. Looking forward to seeing them again and again. Great time!!

Wow. I've never seen them before, nor heard of them before. I was expecting a band that does the early songs. I didn't expect them to do & dress and change their appearance for each stage of the Beatles progression. Wonderful !

They were very true to the original songs. Probably the best musicians I've ever heard. I'd go again.

What can I say? They were nothing short of fantastic!!! I never got to see the Beatles but this comes very close I would say. Will definitely see them again.

Our children loved it. Great family entertainment and historical exposure.

If you have the chance to see Rain, I would see it before American English. It was just ok. The voices could have been better and the back drop they could have done a lot more with. No light show on the back drop at all. But with that said for the price it was fine. I have seen both Rain and American English and I would recommend Rain over this any day.

We very much enjoyed this event! Neither my husband nor I had seen them before. My husband had been wanting to see them for quite a while, so I bought him tickets for his birthday. It was a great show! The band played for about 45 minutes, took a 20 minute intermission and then played for another 45 minutes.

American English rocked the house. The sound system at Star Plaza is amazing.

We loved it! Next time I want to get a large group of friends together to go see the show.

great show-if you are a Beatles fan this is a must show to see. The price for tickets is very reasonable for the excellence of the show.

This was our third time seeing the American English. Our previous two times were at an outdoors concert. Watching them perform at the Star Theater added a whole different dimension to the concert. Listening to their performance was a journey back in time when we were much younger and the Beatles were dominating the American scene. .

It was our first time seeing American English. They sounded great, and at a distance, made us forget they weren't the Beatles! =) They were entertaining as well as talented and made the show fun. We were there to celebrate our anniversary, a birthday & Valentine's Day, and American English made it a memorable night. We will recommend these great musicians to others. However, we were VERY DISAPPOINTED in the theater staff. We were shown by an usher to our seats in the mezzanine. During the show, we were TWICE asked by the same female staff person, not the usher, to show our tickets (printed from Ticketmaster). This was a bit embarrassing since no other guests around us were asked to show their tickets. It wasn't as if someone was needing our seats because during the entire concert there were several empty seats in our row. Come one Star Theatre...get it together!!

Guys sounded just like the Beatles. Loved the way they came out in the different eras. They are all very great students of each member they are representing. Costumes, hair, clothtes very authentic. Very friendly band and they stayed the greet EVERYONE after the show and sign autographs. My 12 year old stepdaughter is now hooked on them and the Beatles yaaaay (goodbye One Direction and Bieber).

Could have listened to Bealtles songs 8 days a week and all night long. Enjoyed the sets and thought the person playing the accompanied music was great. Selfishly wished they played all the Beatles songs, but know that was impossible. Would definitely see again.

What an amazing experience, it was like going to a Beatles concert! All of the songs were spot-on! After the show, the lads even came to the lobby to meet and greet everyone that came!

I had a great time! Everyone there shared one thing, the love of Beatle's music which in turn brings everyone together for a great deal of fun! I have recommened these guys to everyone who has asked about the show. Our seat were good, could see the stage well, the sound was great, not too loud or brassy. Just loved the whole thing! Still excited!

Seriously! These guys are the real thing!!!!! Voices and playing ability were note for note dead on the mark. You are simply, watching and listening to the Beatles live on stage. I am a musician who has been playing for 30 years. Take it from me:these guys are so professional. They are a class act. They even stayed after the show to meet with the audience members to sign autographs and take photos. They were very cool. My Daughter(who's15) LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLoved them. As in past performances, American English delivered. It truly is the next best thing to seeing the Beatles perform. The songs are dead on. I will be going again when they are in the area.

These guys blew my mind again. The best Beatles cover band I've ever seen. The George impersonator was spot-on especially, both with playing and singing style! They're the real deal!

It was like actually going back through Beatle history. Down to the last detail of Paul playing guitar left handed, and a very quiet George Harrison. They have amazing energy giving their all in a grand performance. Definitely going to see them again soon!

This was a Fantastic Show! They sound like the real Beatles and the dress like them too! This was my Christmas present to my kids, I gave them each two tickets and they ended up taking me and my husband. It was a Great family experience and better yet, it was also my youngest first concert and she was in awe the whole night, thanks for helping us make some wonderful memories. Can't wait until American English comes back again, we will be there!!!

Who says you can't go back in time? American English is more than a trip down memory lane It's a chance to live or relive a piece of history.

Was a good concert. The band stayed in character and sounded great.

Every set was fantastic! I knew every song except for one. The antics that the band members portrayed and the instruments used were just like the original Beatles. If I would have closed my eyes, I would have thought it was the original group playing and singing right there in front of me.

I have been to many American English shows, but had never been to the Rialto. We thoroughly enjoyed the show as usual, but was also pleased how smoothly the seating went & enjoyed the refreshment area as well. Your coffee is very good. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

This show has renewed my interest in the Beatles!! I have loved them since childhood, and now MY children love them too!! Both of them were moved by this show. It's a must see for any Beatle fan, past, oresent, or future!!

With the first act and all the intermissions, the show was long and drawn out. Almost left at one of the intermissions.

This show is dead-on correct to the Beatles in every way. We have seen the show over half a dozen times and it just gets better and better!

The show was terrific!!!! I thought I was at a Beatles concert, even though I wasn't even born when the Beatles were together, but I'm sure this is what must have been like. It was a great performance and a great time. American English must come back to Kansas City soon and do another performance.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I could have listened to them for another hour at least!
