Brian Setzer, et. al. put on another fun show to add to my musical memories! First night of this short tour, but he sounded and played fabulously! His back-up boys, Noah Levy on drums, Mark Winchester on stand-up bass and Kevin McKendree on piano and guitar all knocked out of the park too. If you want a fun time, with good entertainment, you'll always get your money's worth with Brian Setzer!

Really was looking forward to seeing Brian Setzer when I heard he was playing his rockabilly riot. It was an incredible treat to hear him play and sing. Great drummer and bass player as well as pianist. Very happy, tight and polished band. It was nonstop rockabilly mayhem. 6 Stray Cat songs including my favorite Runaway Boys. With over 600 live shows and counting from 1978 to now, I would rate Brian Setzer in my top ten guitarists. Dont belive me, Go check it out and let me afterward. My cheecks hurt afterward because I was smiling from beginning to end. Thank you Brian for a true rock and roll treat. Keep Rockin

This was the third time I've seen Brian Setzer. The first was 28 years ago with the Stray Cats, then about 3 or 4 years later with the Cats as well. I think he's even gotten better!! He has excellent musicians with him as well! The man is a true entertainer and ROCKED the Uptown Theater in Kansas City!! The band had every bit as much fun as the crowd did and they let us know! We brought 'em back out for THREE (3) encores and they never disappointed!!!

It was really a good concert and the workers were very efficient in escorting people to their seats. Good idea for the large TV trons as if you were in the back it made it much easier to view. Afterwards I would have bought a CD but it was too difficult what with all of the people swarming the merchandise area.

Perhaps the worst venue. Chair seating on a flat floor?.....for a rock show? Please. Saw a few you tube videos of the Rockabilly Riot set before the show, and the same choreograph and gimmicks were used in the show. Setzer and bandmates are great performers and my respects to the man for sticking to his genre all these years. Show duration was relatively short, but the room/venue was the big disappointment.

Setzer was amazing. House of Blues is the worst place in Chicago to see a show. Tickets state doors open at 7:30, Great, the only problem is Setzer doesnt play until 10:00. I bought tickets with a specific row listed and a seat #. I paid more for these seats... I get there and it is gen. admission, standing room only. I will see Setzer again but NEVER will I see anyone at the House Of Blues Chicago again.

Dear Mr. Setzer - House of Blues Chicago is the worst venue I have ever been to. I have been to over 100 concerts from Billy Joel to Pantera in venues all around Chicago, Wisconsin & Indiana. I was so excited to see the ever so talented front man Brian Setzer and his band. I listen to his music all of the time. House of Blues is general admission, I love general admission. However, at the HOB if you squeeze your way towards the front 3 rows, it apparently is not allowed. I made sure I was not rude and "snaked" my way through. Was not touching anyone at all. I saw three great songs performed by the band. I noticed that I was the only one dancing & with my hands in the air. The crowd was boring, showed no reaction to the music and was very rude. They ruined the entire show for me. A security guard told me I had to move toward the back because I had squeezed my way up there. This has never happened to me before at any venue or concert I have been to. I will never go to this joke of a venue again, and I don't know where the lame crowd came from. Rock & Roll and especially Rockabilly is supposed to be fun. I have a few live Brian Setzer albums & I have no doubt that he put on an electric performance.

WOW !! The rockabilly riot was just that . Setzer's mastery of the guitar with the raucus rhythms of Slim Jim and the rest of the guys made for an unforgettable show. To see performers of this caliber in such a small venue made for a very intimate experience. Thanks Brian for an awesome evening out with my best gal.

Brain Setzer was great. Amazing guitarist and his bass player was a kick ! Back to the 60's with the rocakabilly sound. Nice mix of tunes. Stray Cats to old rock classics. No crazy lights, just a great show with good sound and lights. We like Humphrey's too. Wish they'd give a few more inches of seat width. Very tight. Nice bar too and not overly inflated prices. Glass of house wine $7. Plus they allow a double in one glass, so you don't have to go back for a second glass.

My friends & I left during the 3rd number - It was way, way, way too loud. It felt like I was having a heart attack and my bones were vibrating. How sad for a big band like that to have it so loud, when it's not necessary. Why not hear the instruments as they are played. I was in the music biz for 40 yrs. and never heard such inhuman loudness. $270 down the drain. What a punishment, instead of a nice holiday show.

We thought that there would be more Christmas type tunes for a Christmas Special. The beat of the band was very similar in too many tunes. Brian was personable and sang well.

I got into Setzer around the time Vavoom was released and have since picked up almost everything in his discography. Up until this show, however, I've avoided the Xmas material ignorantly assuming it wouldn't do much for me. Happy to say I was wrong on that assumption. I shouldn't have doubted Brian's talent with creative arrangements and breathing new life into age old standards (especially after Wolfgang's Big Night Out). I was initially thrilled that this didn't turn out to be JUST a holiday show (he does a wide selection from the Cats right up to recent solo albums) but a couple of the Xmas tunes actually turned into standouts for my wife and I. This is probably old news to those who have seen him live before, this being my first time I was pleasently surprised. His orchestra is of course packed full of amazing players and Brian himself played and sounded like a million bucks. I'm not always the most easy to please concert goer, but this had to be one of the better shows I've seen over the past handful of years. I hope to see the Cats sometime in my life if they do another reunion, but would happily see Setzer again solo in any context.

Familiar holiday standards are reworked and liberally sprinkled with the BSO magic powder, elevating tired old standards into simply outstanding new and fresh arrangements. They're obviously having fun on stage and that translates to the audience in no time flat. Everybody in the room was shaking, rattling and rolling to an unapologetically fun show lead by a guitar master. I'd see these guys again if they came to town this season. But like Santa, it looks like I have to wait until next year!

Great performance again. Saw the show 5 years ago and Brian and the Band rocked through all of our favorites and had a great set of rockabilly with a trio. Brian can still pick it with the best of them. The band was very tight and sounded great. I wish I could have taken my kids, but the Venue is an over 21 theater. I enjoyed hearing Brian respond to someone yelling from the audience about him drinking bottled water on stage. Brian told the person, "Hey this is a Christmas show! I'm drinking eggnog."

The show was just OK. There were no dancers which is really needed to enjoy his stylef of music and his stage presence was minimal. Started to late with a 8:00 start and then him not getting on stage until 9:15. Would of expected a casino show to start right at 8.

If you're up for a great time, catch the Brian Setzer Orchestra's Rockabilly Riot. Part of me thought I was at a 50s sock hop, but all of me knew I was in the presence of a legend. How Setzer didn't make the Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Guitarists list is beyond me. His band is tight and the effort they put forth is high energy. The show was actually two sets in one as Slim Jim Phantom, Stray Cats drummer, came out after 45 minutes and I was treated to another 1:15 of rockin' Cats tunes which really brought back memories. It's easy to imagine why Setzer and his band are up for a Grammy for their new instrumental record. Great musicians who clearly enjoy what they do make magic. It was December and I was a little disappointed Setzer didn't paly at least one of his excellent Christmas song renditions. Oh well, a minor quibble.

The show was great and the warm up band did just that, warmed us up for more rockin rockabilly music. The one thing I was not please with, was the amount of time waiting between the opening act and Brian Setzer. Also, there was a great dance floor but it was up front and was full of people standing and watching. In the future, if a dance floor is set up, it should be set up futher back, so there's close up room to watch but also room to dance, because the music really made you want to dance.

This concert ranks alongside Roger Waters' "The Wall" as my two favorite concerts...but for completely different reasons. "The Wall" is a spectacle of sights, sounds, pyrotechnics, video, and other sensory experiences. By contrast, Brian Setzer's Rockabilly Riot is so thoroughly enjoyable because of the energy on stage! Each musician is a sensational performer! The sound quality...perfect. Energy...over the top. Sheer entertainment...off the charts! And, of course, Setzer's guitar work is undeniably brilliant (as a guitarist, I secretly hate him). Highly recommended! See. This. Show.

Obviously we didn't know what to expect at the House of Blues because we were grossly disappointed that you couldn't SIT anywhere (standing room only), and shortly after that, you could barely STAND in your place for the masses of people that were crowding you. For a "dance" band, this was no fun. And all for the bargain price of $55 apiece! I'm pretty sure if it was advertised that I was paying $55 for standing room only, I would have determined it WAS NOT WORTH IT! It was freezing outside, and we stood in line for at least a half hour to get in, then once in, waited an hour and a half for the opening band. SO BRILLIANT of the House of Blues to close the restaurant for a private party on a concert night, too. The guys in front of us in line kept saying they "hated this place" because of the venue policy of packing them in. We thought they were exaggerating. Ha. Wrong. The music was as good as expected, but I would have liked a setlist of Christmas songs, because he has some great ones that rock just as much as any of his other hits

I saw Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats in the 80s at the Civic Center in Des Moines. The recent show I attended was so much better. Setzers guitar playing was excellent as always. How this guy did not make the top 100 guitarist in Rolling Stone is baffling. The 90 minute set was a high energy roller coaster ride that included new songs some Stray Cat hits and great covers. The band was tight. The duel stand up Bass playing was awesome. The only complaint was that I was having such a good time that the show was just to short.
