Truthfully we.came to see Leon and were not dissappointed. He talked to the crowd like we were at home and brought back memories from the 70's. Bob Dylan might as well retire to callng n the chickens at night because Leon still has it and he doesn't . Hot Tuna was great also, mellowed out the evening. Picking and grinning as always.

These guys are great musicians but if you do not know their music it is a long night. I go to about one concert a month and I love music. I can appreciate their talent but I would not go again.

We could have had a nice night of acoustic music, but, unfortunately, the night was ruined by obnoxious fans and lack of heat in the venue. It all started when we got to our seats to find someone's personal belongings in them and their owner was no where to be found. Finally, the usher found her and she very reluctantly moved her crap off our seats. She then proceeded to scream, text and ask us to let her in and out of our aisle the entire first set. Add to that the men in front of us talking on their cell phones and another holding his phone up to check the volume of the music, and the event was pretty much ruined. The last straw was the venue must have been about 50 degrees...it was COLD. We left after the first set, it was just unbearable.

Watching two virtuoso performances on the same stage was an incredible experience. Hot Tuna in whatever form and with either electric or as was the case in this show acoustic instruments is always a joy. This performance was without a doubt the best I've ever witnessed from them. Blues tunes, rock songs, ballads, with unparalleled precision and heart. The Landis Theatre was fantastic as well.

my review The set list was amazing not in any order just from memory.. Sweet Emily, Georgia on my Mind, Jumping Jack Flash with a little Paint it Black thrown in Papa was a Rolling Stone....... Wild Horses. Tight Rope, Hummingbird, I just Seen a Face, Delta Lady, A Song for You, Rolling in my Sweet Baby's Arms, Back To the Island , Hard Rains Gonna FalI will post the entire setlist when I find it....... Everyone should experience Leon and his Band !!! Leon was in great form, his voice was strong, his piano playing was AMAZING and his band is perfection. Leon was engaging with the audience , comfortable in his own skin and shared stories about his musical career . He really endeared himself to the audience and let us all peek into a window I have'nt experienced before at one of his concerts. If you are a Leon Russell fan and haven't seen him at this stage in his legendary career - I strongly urge you to book tickets for a concert near you. Current members of Leon's band include: Jackie Wessel, Bass; Brandon Holder, Drums; and Beau Charron, Keyboards,Lap Steel Guitar, and Mandolin.

The Sherman Theater and the town Of Stroudsburg, Pa make for a great getaway to see a show ! Located very near the App Trail and the Delaware Water Gap . Hot Tuna is as polished a band as ever. If you always loved them, love them more! They came to play and played long sets that were just as good as their younger days. Leon Russell looks and seems great. His set was full of energy. He did one song after another as if he wanted to get it over with. Still Leon is a must see

To our surprise, Hot Tuna played first (even the President of the venue was surprised by that.) Jorma, Jack and Barry were in fine form, although I did think Jorma's voice was a bit less strong than the last couple of times I saw him. First time seeing Leon Russell. Excellent band. Leon's voice is definately an acquired taste.

OK, so the Sherman Theater is a great little venue still in the final stages of a very well done renovation. The acoustics were great and the seating comfortable. You have to be a Hot Tuna fan to appreciate their bluesy, jazz, folk-rock sound--Jack Casady is just amazing! I went with some non-Tuna fans and they were falling asleep after a great dinner at the local Irish Pub, Siamsa. Then Leon comes on with his tight band and rocks the place out--also a big fan, what talent! I saw him three years ago in London at Cadogan Hall right after the Elton John collaboration--he was better there--however, he did not disappoint. You are seeing performing history anytime you get to see these fantastic performing artists.

Acoustic Hot Tuna - Jack, Yorma & Barry - all three are professionals. Yorma's voice was clean and clear as was his guitar playing. Jack's bass & Barry's mandolin & guitar were the perfect compliments. You don't have to be at Hot Tuna fan to appreciate the music these guys make. Leon 'Russel - also a professional. He still has his signature voice. Maybe it's a little rough around the edges but the diamond shines through. I'm really happy I was able to see Leon in person. It was a great night!

I have seen Hot Tuna a number of times, both acoustic and electric; the first being back in 1975. So I knew what to expect from them. But I had never seen Leon Russell. He and his band were amazing, though I thought the sound was not exactly perfect for the venue. But what energy and stage presence! Excellent set. As for Hot Tuna, they are simply the best. The level of musicianship is off the charts, and they never have an "off night." I see them any and every chance I get.

I totally enjoyed Hot Tuna, The only thing I wish was that they did an encore! They sounded as good today as they did 30 years ago.

Leon Russell was a 5 stars all the way!!! What an incredible performance from someone that a friend said was "dead" on the Elton John/Leon Russell tour. Leon was very engaging with the audience. He told stories and sounded great on all songs. In the middle, his band left him to play alone and he sent chills up my spine with an old gospel song (His Eye is on the Sparrow) and my favorite Magic Mirror. He stayed on stage and asked the audience to 'pretend' he had walked off the stage and came back out for an encore. He said "If you know me at all you know I don't like to walk much so let's just pretend I left and came back" What a class act. Hot Tuna gave an acoustic set with Jorma & Jack & another performer (introduced in a garbled way by Jorma) that played primarily mandolin. They are awesome musicians but the show was a big letdown after Leon. Jorma mumbled at the end of almost every verse which got annoying after a few songs, When leaving the show people wondered (out loud!) why Leon wasn't the main liner...

They are mature talented instrumentalists. However no one seemed to be in charge at any one time. Solos or riffs were being played underneath the verses? Two soloing at the same time? I am by no means looking for simple music, and I can imagine playing basic chords can get boring while your friend is singing or soloing. But all three doing what they want when they want doesn't hold my interest for long.

A perfect double billing. Classic rock & roll and low-key acoustic rock and folk style. Pumped up listening to Leon Russell doing the classic r&r and closing with "Great Balls of Fire" and "Roll Over Beethoven" then mellowing out to Hot Tuna's acoustic set. Each one of them showed there diverse talents very well.

I'm sure Hot Tuna is great... but I came to see Leon. Watching him in all of his amazing presence, sitting at the big white piano and playing like no one else in the world can, was a great memory and awe inspiring. His voice is still powerful and unique and his lyrics remain relevant years after he began impacting the music world.

The concert was short. It ended around 10:30pm. Apparently the musicians did not care what the audience thought of the selection of songs that was made for the setlist. I am a longtime fan of Hot Tuna. I am familiar with the music on their albums. There was no drummer to play with the three musicians. Which I thought was a disadvantage. It was almost folk oriented. Some guy who I had not heard of before played the mandolin. That in itself was a questionable choice of musicians. Jorma kaukonen played an acoustic guitar throughout. Jack Casady ended up talking into the mike between the songs to some extent. No profundities were said. Many of the songs were relatively obscure. The group did not attempt to rock out. Jorma made some comments about getting old.

We had a great time at this show, the 1st act was Jill Sobule, she is witty and sarcastic with her songs. She had the whole place singing with her. Jorma and Jack were spot on. They are american music icons.

Jorma, Jack and Benny made great work of Hesitation Blues, Been So Long, Pass the Snakes and Bar B Que King. The new songs sounded great as well. This is the 20th time I have seen them, but It was my wife's first time....I'll be doing a solo gig next time!

Hot Tuna was absolutely amazing. The set selection and guitar work brought back memories of the first acoustic set I saw at the Academy of Music in NYC in the the late 70's. Very special. As an added bonus, the front band was Dangermuffin. I never heard of them before, but boy did they make a great impression on me. I bought both of thier CD's!!! I don't know how to explain them, maybe a folksy bluegrass. In keeping with the nights theme, Dangermuffin was acoustic as well (I think they are always acoustic ;-).
