Escape the Fate

Escape the Fate

Las Vegas post-hardcore marauders Escape the Fate have been stomping and screaming their impassioned brand of melodic brutalism since 2005. Through it all, the unwavering self-belief of the band -- especially frontman Craig Mabbit -- has earned them a tight connection with their fans. "Ungrateful," released in 2013, debuted confidently at No. 2 on the Billboard Hard Rock charts.

i loved the show i loved how escape the fate got involved with the show it wasn't them just up on stage play their songs get off stage and go on to the next show. they truly cared, after the show i wasn't even expecting to met them but when they came around the corner they answered questions signed everything from shirts to tickets. they took pics with every single fan i got pics with everyone of them and they all signed my ticket,. every signal one of them made me feel special just sitting there and talking to them. and when crag was walking back a little while later he came up to me and my friend and thanked us again and again for coming out and supporting them how many other band care about there fans so much that they remember you out of hundredths of fans that night and thank them again for showing support. i love this band not only for their music but for how every signal fan means something to them.

I went to this show to see Escape the Fate (last in line up of two headlining bands). The only thing that brought the show down was the venue's sound equipment and sound set-up staff. This was not the fault of any of the bands. At one point Craig's mic (lead singer for ETF) was not even on! So they replayed a song for us once the staff got their act together... I have seen this band prior, on two separate performances, each time they were amazing! So energetic! I wish Clutch Cargos' equipment was better than what was provided for tonight's show. If you ever get the chance to see ETF live then go! You won't regret it! (Especially when Craig finds almost anything to stage dive from!) Still not convinced? The guys of this band are honest, down-to-earth guys! I have not personally met one of the newest members but I ran into new bassist TJ outside their bus and he was really friendly, he recognized me later on too. Craig stayed outside to chat with fans afterward before they left, got a picture with him and had a few minutes to talk with him myself. You definitely won't be disappointed! If you want an awesome show full of energy, see Escape the Fate!

So, i've been a fan of Escape the Fate for about two years now, and I couldn't of been more amazed at the four of them. They're absolutly AMAZING live. Their energy couldn't of been higher, their music was just as amazing as it was on the album, and all four connected with the crowd so much! The venue was amazing, too. I can't wait to see other concerts there :)

I come from the PANT "era" and was sceptical of "screemo" so I took my 14 year old daughter to this concert. She is in looove of course as for me.........my only dissapointment was no bruises. What happend to mosh pitting, nobody wants to get hurt anymore. Isnt that what thrashin is all about, letting out your aggression while some bad asses are on the stage gettin crazy. Every band that played here in a field where moshing would be "allowed" that would have made it better. However they did kick some assss and I was impressed!!!!

I'm always extremely hesitant to go see bands which I truly enjoy their music. I really try to save myself from being disillusioned by seeing them "live" just in case they don't "live" up to their own CD's sound. But all my worries were put to rest as soon as Craigs' vocals (along with the help of his fellow band mates Max, Monte and Roberts' help) hit the crowd which immediately caused everyone including myself to go bonkers!!!!!...I must admit it's been one of the most engaging concerts I've been to in a while. EVERYONE was completely into the show (other than the tweens who kept passing out from heat exhaustion). Overall the sound was great the crowd was completely engaged during their set and the band was genuinely appreciative to all their fans and I must say the price was right for a full night of music. I regret taking three years to see them live. I'm DEFINITELY IN whenever they're in town again.

It had been my first time going to Firestone Live and to a hardcore rock concert. The environment was much better than I expected, because i thought of the social, but that place is definitely better than the social. In the future I hope to see another one of their concert, and hopefully I will know more of their songs that they play. I did find parking, but the only thing I didn't like, was that they didn't let me sit down during the break in a non-crowded area (it was against the wall where is was sparsely populated).

Escape the Fate was really good. I highly recommend seeing them if you get a chance. With that said, the opening bands literally gave me a headache. Finally, the venue is hot cramped and provides for limited visibility. So, do your research regarding the venue.

Escape the Fate was excellent and I would recommend this event to anyone who likes this type of music. I bought the tickets for my daughter's 17th b/day present as she is a huge fan. Out of the 5 bands performing....4 were worth the money. I did not give this review an amazing rating due to the band "Alesana" who were just not up to par and were a real disappointment. All the the other bands were good and Escape the Fate was amazing. I would definately attend another event at this venue.

I saw these guys in Denver with Hollywood Undead, Atreyu, and The Sleeping, and I have to say..these guys know how to put on a performance. I know most of the fans were excited to see them in Denver so soon after Warped Tour 2009. I had wanted to attend Warped Tour, but was unable to attend due to illness. As soon as I found out about this band being there with three more of my favorite bands, I booked tickets immediately. Definately worth seeing!

I absolutely love Escape the Fate to death and their show was AWESOME! But..on the other hand i wish they would have played more songs and i read an article where they were interviewed and they said that they were going to play some new songs from their album coming out in the fall and they didn't platy any new songs! That was just disappointing because i was really looking forward to that.

Getting a good place for the concert wasn't bad at all. The main, strike that ONLY issue, was the sound people WERE AWFUL, the vocals were drowned out by everything else in the building. Was horrible, this may just have been a HoB issue, not the first time I've gone and had an issue there.

Bogart's was an AMAZING venue. It smelled clean, the floors weren't sticky, it wasn't too packed, the staff and bodyguards were friendly, parking was cheap and easy to find and wasn't too far a walk from the venue itself. The Word Alive performed first and got the crowd really excited for the show, there were some circle pits, but no really dangerous moshing. I was front row, and was jostled once or twice by people crowd-surfing, but nothing major. Tyler Smith got really into it and had great feedback from the crowd. His vocals were amazing with on-tune singing, and super clean screams. At one point he had a wall of death initiated, and he came into the crowd on both sides and in the middle to let the people in the front rows touch him while he sang. Attack Attack! had less enthusiasm from the crowd, but I liked Caleb's personality and thought it was really great when he ran and jumped into the crowd. He had a really clean performance (no cussing at all) and gave an inspirational speech that brought tears to my eyes. I went for Escape the Fate, though. With the performance itself, I wasn't disappointed. The crowd was chanting 'Choose Your Fate' in time with the song and made the atmosphere great for when the band came out. The new bassist, TJ (of Motionless In White), did amazing and, though I'll miss Max Green, can easily take his place. I felt like Escape the Fate didn't connect with the crowd like the other bands did. They were on stage, we were in the pit. It was like they just weren't as committed to making us feel like we were equal with them. During 'Something', Craig stopped mid-song to say "I like that poster" to me, and it made me really happy. :) Both Attack Attack! and The Word Alive stopped after their performances at the merch table to have a meet and greet with the bands. Escape the Fate did not. When the show was over, the crowd was chanting 'one more song', to no avail. I got the set list from ETF, and asked the bodyguard if he thought I could get them to sign my poster. He told me to go around the back of the building to their bus, and they would be standing there and they wouldn't mind signing my poster. I saw TJ and I called his attention, but he said "I'll be right back". He didn't come back out of the bus. I saw Craig walk around from behind it and I walked over to him and said his name several times, and touched his shoulder to try and get his attention. He was talking to some other people and a bodyguard was telling me I had to leave. He finally turned around and I asked him if he'd sign my poster. He seemed almost...offended, maybe? He just wasn't as friendly as I had hoped, and I was disappointed with that. I would go back and see them, but I won't be as excited to meet them. First impressions say a lot, and....I wasn't impressed.

This show was beast. :D I was only able to see the first few songs by Get Scared but from what I saw they are a wonderful upcoming band. Next was Motionless In White, they put on a absolute amazing show. And they were super nice when I met them at their merch table, they took time to meet with all the fans and take pictures. This was my second time seeing Alesana, they are always interesting to watch and always sound amazing. They get super duper into their preformance. After they played I even got to meet Pat from the band. He was really nice and even took a picture with me. Escape The Fate had an amazing light show, and had a big ol' wall of death at the end. They even decided to play Situations. :] Which Surprised me. After the show ended I also met Nick from Get Scared, He was super nice and took pictures with me and my friend Kira. :D He was super awesome. The crowd for this show was great too. Everyone was super into it and was just having fun. So from my point of view this show was totally worth the 3 hour drive. <3 (P.S my friend Genesis loves me.) xD Baha.

Wow, I think I've delayed this enough. Well, the show was great. Even though I hadn't really known some of the bands playing, I found myself enjoying the music. All the bands preformed amazingly . So, I went to see Escape the Fate and Alesana at Revolution Live on 1/30. It was not the best experience. First, the venue filled people in to the seams of the place, making hard to even breathe bc of all the potheads! Escape the Fate has much potential, but they don't write the best songs. Craig Mabbitt jumped off the balcony at the end, which he also did in New York at the Roseland Ballroom on October 1st, 2010. Not very creative. Alesana should have been leading this tour. With their originality and talent, there isn't one bad aspect about them. \\m/

Escape the Fate was awesome. I can say the same for the other bands who i HONESTLY think were pure garbage with weak singers and nothing all that great to offer. Motionless in White however i really got into, but overall i think Alesana was the worst. Their screamer cant scream and he was showing off his beer gut half the time -__-. Thank GOD ETF was amazing or i would have been sorely disappointed. If your planning on having your parents take you, and u do NOT wanna mosh, then get back and dont complain. You're there to have fun, just just stand around like a loser. I would give 5 stars, but the openers mostly sucked hardcore

Escape The Fate was awesome live. I guess long haired metal bands aren't quite dead yet. It's too bad their guitar player was sick and a member of another band had filled in. The crowd was cool, not too rowdy, but still very excited. I don't like the separated tiers at the Grove. It separates the crowd and makes for a much smaller circle pit. It also limits floating. The sound was good, the drinks were too expensive. I wish parking was free, or that metrolink ran trains late at night.

This show was amazing! the line up was extremely well put together all the bands got the crowd super pumped (except for Drive A kinda, but that always happens to them at the Regency) Get Scared was awesome right of the bat, and even though I had never listened to Motionless In White's songs before then I still loved it and thats how you can tell a band is great. Alesana needless to say completely lived up to what I was expecting music and performance wise. They played hard and really rocked and Shawn Mike was hilarious for the crowd, but I would have liked it better if they did a little bit more talking with the crowd like the others. Escape The Fate preformed marvelously, great flow and energy from them to the crowd and the light totally enhanced the experience. But their music alone was epic! The only thing that I didn't like was that it seemed to go by really quickly, I was so surprised when already it was over. I don't know if thats how they decided they were going to do it for schedule purposes or if thats just the way it happened but I really wish it hadn't. I was expecting at least another hour, I mean it ended at or maybe before 10 pm for goodness sake. But all in all I am so glad I went.

Devour the day opened the show and sang pretty much their whole album along with 'white rabbit' from Egypt Central days. Escape the Fate walked in and to the backstage stage in a processional. Then came out with all guns blaring! Such a great venue. Even the crowd surfers got hugs and high 5's when they landed on the stage before jumping back into the crowd. I didn't know all the lyrics but it didn't take away from an awesome time.

THIS WAR IS OURS TOUR was to me at first a tour that got u to go just get more money into venues and bands pockets so i didn't know what to expect. I happened to miss The First Band Secrets but when Mest came on i had doubts that this was gonna be good at all. Once The Word Alive Came on they took the whole venue to a new level. They killed it!!!. I didn't even know who they were at first but i instantly became a fan.I never Liked Attack Attack. But after seeing them live i can honestly say they won me over. THere whole stage persona and live show is something to see and something to be heard.Calebs monlouge is so uplifting u just wanna love this group.THe music was so intense live that i wanna to just freak out in the pits. FInally At the end of the night My boys ETF came in to end the show!!!.First off Their stage set was pro status. The stage looked bigger than the whole venue. Then they came out and rocked the place with a hour and 15 min grueling set.Playing Tunes Like 10 Miles Wide,Issues,Gorgeus Nightmare,G3 Aftermath you had to get into it.THe highlight was This War is Ours. RIght when they got to the wall of death part someone had passed out and they needed to stop everything so in favor to the fan they played the song again in its entirety and that happens to be my favorite song by them. Their whole show from the look their persona on stage and the songs they played was by far just incredible and i will happily go see them again anytime they come by NJ!!!

As for ETF, they just got on, sang, and got off, nothing special. they didn't ask us how we where doing, or if we where having a good time, but that's alright, i was expecting that anyways. i REALLY recommend Mest, The Word Alive, And Attack Attack, Going to see them again July 5th (:!

I loved this tour!!!! Escape the Fate used to be amazing, I mean they still got it, but their old stuff will always be better. Secrets is one of my favorite bands, they were great and so was The Word Alive. The Word Alive played a really short set which I wasnt too happy about, Attack Attack played a long time tho! They played some old songs were came out fantastic. Love this venue and artists!!!

This was my first time seeing all the bands on the bill, but I was actually there to see Escape the Fate. Secrets and The Word Alive made me a fan for life. Mest was ok, kinda bummed that they didn't sing Jaded. Attack Attack put on a good show but I wasn't that into them, altho they had some good songs. Caleb Shomo was sick but he still came out and sang and jumped around and had a good time. That impressed me a lot! That kid has my respect for sure. Even tho I'm not a big fan of their music I became a fan of Caleb, and the speech he gave was awesome. Escape the Fate was amazing and they sang a lot of my favorite songs. After the show ETF came outside and hung out with the fans, but I kind of got shuffled off to the side in favor of all the younger girls (and I'm not old I'm 27). They acted like I was wasting their time. I've always heard that Robert Ortiz was rude but in fact he was actually the nicest one to me, especially since he looked at me when he spoke to me. Craig could have been nice but he was pretty much bombarded by everyone so the jury is out on that one until the next time I get a chance to say hi.

The bands were really great. But it was a bummer I couldn't take my granddaughters upstairs to be In the center. They still had a wonderful time

I went only to see Escape The Fate not really knowing much about the bands with them. I got to HOB right before they took the stage. Having seen ETF three times prior I was expecting a great show as always. Something just seemed a little off with the guys this night. They just didn't seem as into it as they usually do. The songs didn't sound as tight. Maybe they were just having an off night as bands are expected to have every once in a while. I sure hope the next time I see them...and I WILL.....that they will be back on top of their game.

One of the best concerts I've been to in a while! The only thing I didn't like was that they only allowed SECRETS to play four songs! The security on the floor was also bad. Everytime someone would take a step during the first two bands they would stop them. But other than that, all of the bands were amazing and I had such a great time! Next time let SECRETS play longer!!!!!!!!!!

I can honestly say that this was the best concert that I have been to, and that is a real compliment considering that I have been to many concerts and also considering the fact that the only band that I knew previously was Escape the Fate and I was not much a fan of heavy metal. Boy did this concert change my mind! To start with, the lineup was great. Secrets did a great job of getting the crowd hyped up! After that, Mest changed the mood a bit, with their softer music which provided a break from the heavier music of Secrets. Then The Word Alive brought the concert's excitement level way up higher with their heavier music, which did a good job of leading into the heavy music of Attack Attack!. Finally, Escape the Fate came on with a great entrance! Their delay in coming out really built the suspense of the crowd with the flashing red lights and the music that was playing as the crowd waited. Their set, although softer than that of Attack Attack!, packed just as much power as the other sets! Which brings me to something else that I really liked: each band was amazing! There was not one band that I was disappointed in and I found this to be very pleasing. Usually, there is at least that one band that isn't quite up to par with the others that leaves you thinking, "Oh my gosh, when are they going to finish so the band that I want to see can come on?" However, this did not happen. Even though I was not familiar with anything except for Issues, Ashley, and The Flood by Escape the Fate, I was able to dance along to the music as well as those that knew all the songs which was awesome! A lot of times when one isn't familiar with the music being played, they feel sort of lost and I did not feel like that even once during the concert. Something that I really liked as well was the trust that the band members had for us fans. They were not afraid to come right into the crowd and let their fans put their hands all over them and they were also not afraid to just hang around the lobby as everyone was either filing out or buying merchandise. I think it's really great because it puts us all on the same level in a way. It shows that they don't think they are better than us. (Hard to explain, but I think you get my point.) I think it was great that Attack Attack! and Escape the Fate included old and new songs in their sets, although I believe Escape the Fate's set could have been longer, especially considering how long Attack Attack!'s set was. I loved the speech given by Attack Attack!'s lead vocalist. I think it's safe to say that everyone was touched by that speech. I found myself really paying attention while he was talking. However, at a certain point, it became a little repetitive and lengthy. Great message nonetheless though. A message that really inspired me. For those of you that were not there, his "speech" was about not listening when people tell you that you can't do something. "Instead, go out into the world and do exactly what they said you couldn't do," was his advice. I think it was definitely a good piece of advice and definitely a good thing to talk about. It was something that I know everyone was able to relate to. As far as the crowd goes, the atmosphere was great. I found most everyone in the crowd to be very friendly. This is the first concert I've been to where people are expected to crowd surf and even told by the performers to crowd surf. Definitely a great and fun experience. I could do without the circle pits and moshing, but it was very interesting to watch nonetheless (from far away of course). To conclude, I was beyond delighted with the outcome of the show. It was worth the wait in the rain! The energy of the concert exceeded greatly that of most other concerts I've been to. How ironic that the concert with heavy metal ended up being the one I like the most out of all the concerts I've been to so far.

I've seen both these groups before, but this show was better (maybe because it was a Monday night, and not so packed)...Attack Attack! and Escape the Fate went out of their way to connect with their fans, and I felt both the bands and the fans won as a result. Would like to see "meet and greets" for them in our area (though, if the weather hadn't been so bad, we would have probably seen more of them around their buses before the show).

The 5 bands that played were Secrets, Mest, The Word Alive, Attack Attack!, and Escape the Fate. I sadly didn't get the chance to see Secrets because they played their setlist before we could get there. The best performance was by Attack Attack. Escape the Fate was second best, followed by The World Alive then Mest was the least exciting. Attack Attack was not only the best because of their intense heavy metal music, but also because of the energy they brought. The mosh pits were intense, the fans were all cool, there was lots of crowd surfing and the security guards were cool about it. The two walls of death I was in were wild. The circle of death I was in was cool, and when I crowd surfed it blew my mind. A nice feature this venue provided was a compact stage with a large standing area and FREE water. After an entire setlist of moshing, jumping and going nuts the free water was fantastic. I rated the event at a 4 because at $35 it was seemingly expensive, but in the end it was definitely worth it.

First time going to see Escape the Fate and I was thoroughly impressed. They sounded nearly exactly how they did on record and played pretty much everyone of their hit songs and more. Craig was great and Rob had a lot of energy and it was fun watching him play. Sucked when Max passed out though but the show went on and was still great. I was also really excited to see Motionless in White. Checked them out when I bought the tickets and immediately liked them and I'm now a definite fan after seeing them live. The venue (Starland ballroom) was my only minor gripe. It's a bit small for the number of people that were there (selling less tickets would be better). Was pretty much shoulder to shoulder the whole time and some of the kiddies pushing and going back in forth constantly in front of me was really annoying (most were fine, just a select few I wanted to give a knuckle sandwich). Access to and from the main floor is not well set up as there is only one entrance and it is very narrow. Pretty much the bottle neck of traffic making getting out of the place an annoying experience. Otherwise, the place wasn't too bad but definitely won't be traveling 2hrs to get there again. All in all, a great night!

I have never seen these bands in person, but have heard them on the radio and coming out of my daughter stero system. These guys put on quite a show for a small venue, never been to Ram's Head but will gladly take my kids again, as a parent it was a blast to the past from the good ol days of Hammerjacks and Jrs Inn. Just wanted to express the joy that seeing Escape the Fate was for my 16 year old, tickets where a birthday present.

Overall, I thought Drive A was great, Get Scared was good, Motionless in White had a lot of energy, but they played the SAME FRIGGIN' CHORD PROGRESSION IN EVERY SONG!!!! Also, WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE moshing for Alesana, and Alesana sucked that night!!!!!! But, ESCAPE THE FATE WAS BETTER THAN EVER!!!!!!!!!! Their guitarist played better that night than when I say Kirk Hammet with Metallica at Devil's stadium!!!!! Not the best concert I've been to, but ESCAPE THE FATE was GODLY!!!!!!!!!!!! -By the way, this is his son, Richard Mainway (look me up on FB and iTunes, and look up my band TERMINAL BREAKDOWN on FB and Youtube)*

This is the third time i've seen Escape the Fate, first time i've seen them headline and they were fantastic. Best they have ever played, best they have ever sounded. Solo guitarist was really on point, and back up vocals/screams were perfect. I love their album "This War is Ours", they played about 5 songs from there which was great. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of their newest album but the songs they played off of it were great. Sounds way better live if you ask me. They had a ton of energy, very glad i made the trip out to Jersey from Long Island to see them. They did not disappoint one bit.

Overall the entire show was amazing. All of the bands were spectacular with their performances and they kept the entire audience entertained. My only problem was actually with the venue itself. The venue wasn't large enough to support all of the people. The Starland Ballroom is a very nice place it was just a little cramped, if there were less people I would have given the whole review 5 stars.

To me, every band was good in their own way, even the opening acts. Compared to the last concert I went to at Starland, this show was overall better, even though I saw my favorite band last time. The crowd was amazing as well. :D I'd definitely go see all these bands again. :)

I only went for Escape the Fate. The other bands I didn't know anything about, and couldn't understand their screamo. Normal I think, but the bands seemed rushed, and put enough for a performance, not for entertainment. Bottom line, Escape the Fate did a very good job of entertaining me. They even played an encore. Lead singer, Craig, seemed lazy with the singing, though it is understandable having to have one's voice worn out like that every day. He was still a great singer for what he did sing, and screams much like what is on the albums.

Escape the fates performance was ok, but the best performance of the night was most definitely Alesana. Their performance was so high energy and it kept me completely interested the entire set! Afterwards with the fans as well, ETF were not as warm to their fans and didn't really seem to make much of an effort to meet them or sign stuff for them which is unfortunate

Drive A began the show with an unforgettable ray of talent. Bruno got the crowd going with his amazing blast of positive energy. Get Scared followed and were simply amazing. Motionless in White was full of in energy as they rocked the crown in sync. Alesana was one our favorites who also rocked the crowd, however, there was something not so great about their show. I was disppointed that the lead singer didn't interact with the audience as much as he should have. The screamo dude acted as the lead singer and quite frankly he's not the one the female fans want reaching out to them! The sound system is also to blame for a not so great show. It was very muffled and difficult to disguish one song from the next. Escape the Fate were AMAZING. I've seen them before and they definitely surpassed living up to their fans' expectations. Once again, the sound system at The Norva caused their songs to sound muffled and just plain noisy and distorted. It's apparent that the volume was turned up as each band played closer to the no 1 spot. Perhaps The Norva's sound system can use some adjusting or upgrading so when the volume is turned up the music still sounds clear. Overall it was a fantastic show from all performers.
