The group that House of Blues brought from Cincinnati was amazing: great voices. "Kirk Franklin presents" means we get a video of him introducing and they since a few of his songs (and the chicken/waffles are his recipe?). I truly enjoyed myself, even though getting a Bloody Mary seemed to be more difficult than it should have been.

I took my 20-year old daughter to our first-ever gospel brunch at the House of Blues in Boston. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was plentiful and delicious; all of the singers had such beautiful voices. They really got our blood pumping, our hands clapping and our feet a-dancing! Nice time.

How good is it? Problem is, I went to the Gospel Brunch years and years (and years) ago when it was pretty new in Cambridge and participants really went to PARTICIPATE in an alternative service -- well, kind of, you know. But I don't remember it being full of birthday parties and anniversaries and little kids; the old venue was more intimate and you were surrounded by the music and you glorified while you ate your eggs. : ) It really feels more like a "show" show now and I don't think the big new space helps it any. That being said, the host was great, the music was great, and every one of the staff -- from the people at the ticket office and front door down to the folks who brought you to your table and cleaned up at the end of the show -- were terrific. The space is very cool, just BIH-HIG. Food was good (do wish they'd keep that coffee pot going better, though!) and they left plenty of space around the tables for us to get up and down without bothering our neighbors. One thing I wish? That they'd NOT shut down and say goodbye right at the end of the show but let everyone have about 1/2 hour more to linger after the music over. It's fun to sit and eat and talk about the show and maybe start talking to a neighbor/stranger you connected with. That would go a long way to bringing back some of the real "service" aspect of the morning. (Staff were very gracious about lingerers, though.) Hopefully, the brunch will grow into the space better. RIght now it feels a little too large and disconnected and doesn't do anything to get the people to connect to each other. You really feel like a spectator at a show, regardless of what Katani says, and the lay out of the show and the large room reinforces this. But the music and the staff balance it with love as best they can. Come early, eat well, and enjoy the show!

I went into the Gospel Brunch with high hopes. Spending a beautiful day in Boston at the House of Blues directly across from the famed Fenway Park. The Gospel Brunch was scheduled to begin at 11:30 but when we got there they had already begun at closer to 11am. The food was ok and the music was beautiful and engaing but they only played for 30 minutes and the lead singer kept checking his watch throughouot the performance. It was fun but not worth the money and I can't recommend it to others. The House of Blues could do so much more but it felt rushed and cookie cutterish....

The buffet and service were excellent. Great quality and plenty of it. I thought the entertainment would include a female gospel choir. Althought the three male singers were good, I thought it would have been more traditional.

Food was delicious, fresh, hot, and plentiful. Staff was welcoming, enthusiastic, courteous and helpful. RP and Divine Purpose were terrific singers and the musicians were the best. They were having fun and enjoyed each other's talents. The music was great! If you like gospel, go. The MC got everyone in the mood for participating and I really liked her style. I wish she hadn't pushed the gift shop so much. My only "complaint" was that I wish I had known more songs to sing along with.

We did not attend our regular church this past Sunday, but we were surely spiritually fed! We were blessed by the music--the food was like "manna from heaven" and the entire staff treated us like family. We will definitely return.

we enjoyed the music, it was great, we enjoyed the food, it was great however being our first time there we were very disappointed in the short length of time. We had not even finished our dessert and coffee when we had to stand for the last song. When you extend the brunch to 2 hours we will be back, we wanted to sit back and relax and enjoy it a little longer. Oh, also standing outside in the heat was not pleasant and we had to wait till after 1:00.

This is the second time we have brought our family, food was outstanding. The Gospel singing an dancing was spectacular... OK, it did help that my daughter a Music Major was brought on stage to direct the chorus... And we all got out of our seats to sing and participate... THIS is a great value experience... We will be back...

That I found myself smiling through a good portion of the gospel concert is indicative of the event. It was a good time, and I think everyone there had fun. The first 45 minutes is dedicated to eating. The lines for the omelettes and waffles were very long, but the line for the "main" buffet moved quite quickly - no special orders to slow it down. The food overall tasted good, but as a problem with most buffets, the food wasn't especially hot. There was a nice variety and was generally pleased with what I ate. The last half of the program is the singing, and the group we had started off spectacularly. Great music, great singing, and it livened everyone up. It sagged a bit at the end because of the soloists and audience participation, but it was a good time and I am glad I went.

My husband and I both enjoyed the Gospel brunch. I would say that food-wise they need some more vegetarian choices and on the music side, I would like to have had heard more singing. The group was good!

I got there 15 minutes early and got into line. Once the doors opened, it took over 20 minutes to make it to the door to be seated in an old, unsturdy, uncomfortable wooden fold out seat. Once seated there were long lines at every food station. When I finally arrived at the mimosa station, they were serving mimosa's out of a plastic dixie cup. They told me they had run out of champagne glasses. I do say that the taste of the food was excellent. The Gospel Choir that morning was pretty good and showed high energy. The tickets were very expensive given the marginal experience. I will not return nor recommend.

I've been to the Gospel Brunch before, completely enjoyed it, and found the performance inspiring. This time there was a different choir and I didn't care for the choir director. There was way too much talking versus singing. Not only was he average at best, he did the one thing that I find extremely irritating when seeing a performance. He spent more time talking the time away and getting the audience to perform rather than letting the choir sing as expected. I wonder why entertainers think audiences can't figure out they are just ill prepared for a show. I also didn't like the choir director's comments about fat men and wig wearing women. It might be true at his church, but trying to get a laugh from the audience using black sterotypes was offensive to me.

It was extremely crowded. I literally was shoulder to shoulder with people next to me. A bit uncomfortable if you ask me. They could put 2 less people at each table to make it a more relaxed environment. The lines were long for the food, which was just so-so. And the free mimosas were terrible. They often ran out of champagne leaving long lines. Just bad.

The food was good, the staff and management were great and the performance was interactive. Whether you are a fan of gospel music or not, it is a must see. The audience was a mixture of many different backgrounds and the energy in the room was positive and uplifting. I would recommend purchasing tickets early as seating is based on the order in which you purchased your tickets. If you purchase late, chances are you will be in an area with an obstructed view and you really want to see what's happening on that stage. I would recommend sitting in the pit area or if you can, a private balcony. If you end up in the next to last balcony near the stage, the speakers could obstruct your view. I've gone twice and both times saw the same group. It's my understanding that there are different acts. Each time I went I was very pleased. Although the same group, not the same show. I would surely go again. It was a blast!

It was wondeful! Just don't get seated in the front of the sub-woofer. The speach of the performers was distorted. Great food and entertainment.

This was my first experience to the gospel brunch and I really liked the show. However I was not very satisfied with the food. Some of the food was good but they ran out of the fried chicken, the tortillas were stuck together and hard, there was no cheese for the tacos, and the potatoes tasted a little spoiled. If they get the food fresh and plentiful and add a little more variety this would be something I would do more often. I would also recommend my church to attend as quarterly functions. The entertainment was great!!

My wife,son(4yr old) and I took my mom and sister for their birthday. The music was uplifting, the atmosphere was energetic and positive, and the food was phenomenal! The fried chicken was outstanding! While it is near the pricey side - it was worth it and I will certainly be doing it again. I would recommend buying tickets online to ensure a good seat/table.

I have mixed reviews about the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues. The gospel music was amazing. The group had everyone involved and jamming. However, the brunch was fair at best. The eggs were rubbery and I suspect they were powdered. The jambalaya was cold.

The Gospel group worked up a sweat for sure! The musicians were top-notch. We left happy and I am sure those who believe were filled with the spirit. The food though, was just average. The only eggs offered were scrambled, well done as if they had been sitting in a warming oven for quite some time and were, possibly, according to my friend who ate them--when I saw them I passed--powdered. I was expecting an omelette station, but there is a disclaimer on the site: "*Menu items may vary slightly and are subject to change". The chicken and shrimp jambalaya was short on both. But there were cold boiled cocktail shrimp that were large and flavorful. A side of beef sliced to order also. One would think they would offer grits or hash browns. I found it interesting the bacon offered was both crispy and not so crispy to satisfy both tastes I suppose. Their website says "homemade biscuits and country gravy", again the disclaimer as neither seemed to be. The gravy was practically tasteless and certainly came from a plastic bag. There was a variety of fruit offered although it was not refreshed so get it early. Overall it was filling but just an average Las Vegas buffet.

I was expecting it to be more of a worship experience with traditional gospel music. Men's voices lend themselves to a richer sound than loud, shrieky women's voices. Other than "Amazing Grace", did not recognize other "hymns".

It was exactly what was needed after being exposed for 7 days to all kinds of decadent behavior in Vegas. It was Easter Sunday and assisted with renewing my atunement with God. I couldn't go to church but they had church going on, up in there. The food was good and I was happy they had lamb. The Gastons performed and were very good. It was a family affair. I wish the show could have been longer.

We have been to this several times and just get a kick out of it. We think it is fun and different and just the right length. The kids loved it and had a great time dancing around. We were a bit disappointed in the food this time, though. The set up just looked cheap and there were many items listed on the menu that were not on the buffet. The food tasted ok, but in the past it has been better.

The women were wonderful. They came into the audience during and after the show and really made contact with people. Great back up band. the refurbished house of blues is beautiful. I have been to the House of Blues in New Orleans and the show was much more of an entertainment event than what we saw in the HOB in Boston, MA! While the food was excellent I felt like I just attended a Southern Babtist Sunday Service rather than be entertained. The group have very good voices but they lack in appearance and showmanship.
