The Thymes and the Drifters were excellent! Full of energy and enthusiam with their performance. Could not have asked for better. The Impressions were disappointing-really a let down after the first two groups. The first two groups recieved standing ovations, people were on their feet and into the music. When the Impressions finished their last song people just left. I feel most of the people were there to just enjoy the "good old music" and have an enjoyable evening. The introduction to the Impressions and their comments seemed to want to force more of a history lessson on the audience. Reaction was fair at best.

The Tymes were great. Charlie Thomas and the Drifters were even better but........Obviously, the Impressions thought the event was a Civil Rights Rally. There was nothing but praising their old Civil Rights heroes, and preaching how each song they performed was a Civil Rights Anthem, and how we must all learn to love each other and get along better, blah, blah, blah. After the fourth song, we left, only to notice that the back half of the auditorium had already left. It appeared to be an early exit for the majority of the audience. (We sat near the front) I'm all for Civil Rights, but that's NOT what I bought two tickets to see and hear. I was there to be entertained. The Tymes and the Drifters got it right. The Impressions DID NOT! Wrong time...wrong place.

Enjoyed the groups; great song selection. The sound system seemed to let the band overpower the groups. One drum was louder than all other instruments and continued to come through over all else. The voices could not be heard well; even with no band playing, the dialogue between songs was difficult to hear. Would have loved to actually hear the voices and the songs.

The 'Legends' concert was like turning back the hands of time to the 1960s. Favorites from the Tymes and the Drifters was unforgettable. Their songs brought back sweet memories of the beach, college concerts and good days gone by. Charlie Harris is timeless; his music was not to be missed. The current version of the Impressions was less than impressive. Their travel difficulties, lack of connection with the backup band and constant looking at the clock was - to say the least - disappointing. The only physical drawback was that the sound system used during the concerts was substandard from our seats in the mezzanine.
