I had never seen the band before, but read some excellent reviews about all the awards they have won in Canada. They were awesome. Fantastic harmonica, guitar, the whole band is really together. Bought the newest cd afterwards & the guys were very cordial doing autographs on it. Will definitely try to see them again when they are in the area.

This was my first blues concert. Downchild Blues is my boyfriends favorite band so we had to go. We had great seats and the concert was awesome! I will not hesitate to go to another concert at Bears Den again. Thanks! Happy Holidays!

Great show, but way too short. We were out of there by 10pm. Maybe being in a casino had something to do with it???

Loved it from opening act to closing encore. Was amazed that James Cotton, at his advanced age and failing health, -- he had to be helped to a chair onstage -- still had the breath to blow some bad blues harp with Elwood and Mr Downchild himself, the incomparable Donny Walsh. Chuck Jackson, lead vocalist and front man, was in fine form doing almost all the between-song patter and singing his great big heart out. Many thanks to Chuck for starting up and organizing the Southside Shuffle Jazz & Blues Festival in Port Credit, Ontario (lakeshore end of Mississauga), near the Credit River delta and lighthouse. Great horn section, 2 trumpets including the only surviving member of the legendary Memphis Horns, plus a fine saxophone. Fine work on keyboards, drums and bass round out the band. Donny was having one of the best nights of his long performing life. Hope to see him and them again soon at Tucson's.

The show on Friday night in Ottawa was awesome! The band really looked like they were having fun, and having Dan Akroyd part of the show was amazing. The Donnie Walsh and Chuck Jackson were superb, Jackson's vocals were right on.
