Twisted Sister

Twisted Sister

Twisted Sister's 37-year legacy with global sales of 12 million records, 33 Gold and Platinum Awards and more than 9,000 performances is nothing short of amazing. Twisted co-lead guitarist JAY JAY FRENCH formed the band in New York City in December,1972. High school buddy EDDIE OJEDA (co-lead guitar) came onboard in 1975.  With the addition of front man DEE SNIDER in 1976, the band embraced the theatricality of the shock rock movement combined with their signature hard-rock sound that continues to embrace new fans and remain loyal to their followers.

Went to see TS in NY show allthe way from Finland and got a lifelong memory! The band showed it's best, starting with an introduction by the stand-up comedian, who was funny and pointed out the thing I could easily sign; Dee is the greatest frontman of all times! Guys seemed to enjoy playing in their "homecourt". Especially it felt nice and touching when JJ, introducing The Fire Still Burns, pointed out that they Still Wanna Rock! And Dee showing the same thing in the back by pounding his fist into his chest. AJ did a drumsolo I've never heard before and The Animal is truly by his nickname; he's a real madman with his bass! How can he make it sound so good by pounding the bass with his fist and microphone stands? Fingers got a new guitar and I think it's no use to mention, because it's so obvious that JJ's guitars with TS-boner-logo's looked great! I enjoyed the event with the bottom of my heart and although I've seen the band a few times playing in Finland, this show meant a lot to me. Now TWISTED SISTER played with their own ground, in front of their own friends and families, not so far away from home. That must be a special event for the band too! The whole event (The Pinkburst Project) with the charity and benefits to uveitis research was organized fine and I wanna give thanks to everyone that made this event possible! JJ's daughter was enjoying every moment of the show (in the side of the stage). It was a once in a lifetime moment for me to be part of this SMF- community, in their own playground so HAIL TWISTED SISTER and thousands of thanks! In my heart, THE FIRE STILL BURNS! See You TS in Europe this summer!

the annual christmas show was supurb. played a lot of the christmas album(which is the reason for the show) some good old tunes(can't stop r & r, stay hungry, the beast, don't let me down) a new song called "30" which is a good live tune, and of corse, the hits. would have liked to see more(like come out and play and heros are hard to find) but all in all it's a great show. dee's voice still sounds GREAT, and the band was very tight. went with a few people seeing "twisted" for their first time and they loved it!!

Great to have a venue for that type of music. My only complaint: Have side stage bands playing at the same time as the main stage bands!

The whole day was quite amazing. This show lasted from about noon till 11 pm. This show featured a number of bands from the 80's hair era. And i got to see some old favorites as well bands I've never seen before. Kix was by far the best band on the roster. They played all their hits in front of the hometown crowd. Y&T sounded great while Slaughter was just not very good at all. Keel was one of those bands that was the highlight of the show. There was this one guy wearing a Keel shirt that just seemed to be having a great time. I believe he was their number 1 fan. It was really cool to see him and everyone else shouting out loud during The Right To Rock. All in all this was a great festival and I hope they do it again next year!

The whole day was AWESOME!!!! In the beginning everyone was just chilling listening to the bands play, having a good time. As soon as the home town boys(KIX) took the stage the whole atmosphere changed. The crowd jumped to their feet, and rocked out the rest of the day/night on their feet. Twisted Sister closed out the night, and they were fabulous. All the bands were AMAZING and brought back great 80's memories. The whole day was just great and would love to see this as an annual event!

M3 was awesome! It should be a yearly event, and a 2 day event. Cramming all those bands in on only 1 day was too much. I missed a lot of the bands' sets due to being in the middle of watching another band on the other stage. Spread it out, make it a 2 day event and add more bands. Regardless, we had such a great time that we're ready to do it again! One other suggestion - maybe for the Baltimore area only - make Kix the headliner. They are our "local" band, and I think Baltimore feels a special connection with them because of that.

Twisted Sister's Twisted Christmas was the most fun I've had at a show all year long. The band sounded spectacular, there was a great mix of Christmas songs and Twisted Hits. Dee Snider showed why he's one of the most underrated rock frontmen in history. His spectacular stage presence and use of humor throughout the show had the crowd laughing and rocking at the same time. I traveled four and a half hours on a bus, and stood in line for another three just to see this show, and I'd do it again every single year they put it on.

Twisted Sister still ROCKS after all these years. It was great to see the boys back on Long Island where many of us saw them in the 70's and 80's in Rock Clubs like Hammerheads (Levittown & West Islip), Speaks and La'more's (Queens). Seeing them and listen to their music brought me back to those great times. Watching them do their Christmas songs got me into the holiday season. A GREAT time was had by all!!!

I've seen Twisted Xmas show in NYC since TS started to perform it. I smiled and rocked the enire time but then again I used to see TS when they started performing on LI in local bars. Such an under-rated band. Dee has one of the best voices in Rock and is still one of the best front men. They just needed some better song writing as they would have been and should have been another KISS. Never miss this show. Paramount is a great venue but Long Island fans need to step their enthusiasm to compare to a city crowd

First of all the Venue: It was like being in a small, but elegant, club. The staff, amazing!! I'm disabled and then did everything possible to make my experience as awesome as it could be. I sat on the left side of the stage, close enough to see Dee Snider's sweat coming down his face. The band is still as amazing as they were back in the 80's. They played a long and varied set including a few surprises. Having been to over 100 concerts in my life this was the very best by far. The event was held to support The Pinkburst Project and it was great to find out that every cent spent on the tickets and merchandise were going to the project. And it was great for the band to acknowledge all the people that gave their time in support. The opening act Antigone Rising was unknown to me before the show and I was expecting them to be OK or worse as many opening bands are. I could not have been more incorrect. They're an all female band that leans towards country music(which I cannot stand) but they were incredible. Their last song was a cover of Pat Benetar's Heartbreaker which they knocked outta the park.

Antigone Rising the band that opened the show were mismatched for the audience and poorly received. They may rock a Lilith Fair audience but opening for Twisted Sister they were out of place and uncomfortable. Furthermore, they were nothing more than a garage band that you might see at any club on a Monday night. There original lacked originality although their cover of Heartbreaker at the end was decent. Tiwsted Sister more than made up this though and this was their crowd. Although I can't remember the exact setlist, this was a show for the fans by a band who knows how to deliver their best. Dee proves he is still an amazing showman as the rest of the guys stay in their comfort zone and in the pocket. This being a benefit made the evening even more special and worth while. There was no pyro, no special effect; just pure in your face rock. Something that has been Twisted's brand from the beginning. Although, Twisted Sister popularity here in the states has decreased it is easy to see why they are still headliners the world over and capable of drawing massive crowds. The capacity crowd at the Best Buy theatre definitely know this and appreciate it.

Despite playing for 35 years, Twisted Sister still is one of the best live bands out there. They steamrolled through nearly 20 songs for just under 2 hours. It's a lesson some of the new metal bands could learn from, when they play their 1 hour sets. Dee Snider is still one of the best front men ever. Only complaint was they didn't play Under the Blade or Destroyer. They need to come back to New York a little more often, and not for the Christmas shows.

If you're a big fan of Twisted Sister forget my recommendation & definitely go see them. I knew what to expect...I just wanted to go back to the 1980s for a few hours & from that perspective the evening was a huge success. Always wanted to see TS & now I have! Dee Snider is one of the top frontmen (his stage banter is similar to Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day) of all time. The band (Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, Mark (the Animal) Mendoza & AJ Pero) are all top of the line musicians. TW definitely reminds me of KISS & their wall of sounds. I was sitting in the "church" section but was up & out of my seat during I Wanna Rock. Good to see a band that can remain intact over 30 years.

My 16 year old son and I saw 15 of the 16 bands that played at the festival! All of the acts ROCKED! The only negative was that we had to leave an act early in order to get to one playing on the other stage as the times overlapped. We wanted to see all the bands so we had to cut them all a little short. The festival would have been better if the times did not overlap. I had a great time and am looking forward to another festival next year. It was awesome to see all the 80s bands and have the opportunity to meet some of them. It was a great opportunity to see a lot of bands that do not tour the east coast like XYZ, Jetboy and Keel.

The Merriweather post pavillion was perfect for this event, parking was free and close to venue, drinks and food regular priced like all concerts. When we arrived they did not have acts and stages psoted anywhere. I heard they handed out paper schedules and ran out. So, we did not know who was playing where and at what time, unitl we found someone with a list and we took a picture of it. Most of the bands had merchandise booths, which was pretty cool. I wish Merriweather would have had a T shirt with M3 facts as well as the list of all the bands. That would have been really nice, I bet they would have sold out. All the bands really rocked hard.. It was my first time to see Twisted Sister-I loved it-Dee's energy on stage was awesome, the crowd was truly going wild when they came out. However, my opinion is Kix, Ratt ,and Extreme rocked the best. They sounded like they did 20 years ago. I almost cried, it was truly one of the most memorable concerts ever! The only thing that stopped me from rating it a 5, the two stages set up-which I knew-What I didn't know is that I would have to chose one band over another, because one band would be at the end of their set and the other would start about 10-20 mins early. Soooo, we paid to see all the bands and we didn't get to. I missed several acts I came to see.

Excellent choice of bands, great venue and well organized. Good choice of food trucks and plenty of beverages. $20 to park each day, we went all three days. Notwithstanding the weather the event was average due to IMO poor planning on band times. Using Saturday as an example, the roster contained a motley crue and a Metallica cover band on other stages. They were on the same time as TS and Overkill so I missed them. Why would you put bands with the same genre at the same time? Theoretically they could have been performing during daughtry ( sp?) so fans of metal music would get to to see all of the bands they like. The parking was a bit steep. The food trucks were a bit overpriced and the lack lines reflected this. The food was good. The main stage bands were. Excellent

We went for Saturday's line-up and were not disappointed. We didn't like Saliva but all of the other acts were very good. Our favorite acts were Tom Kiefer and Scrap Metal. Tommy is a seasoned pro and still has a great voice. From Scrap Metal we loved Pat Travers and Derek St. Holmes. It was good to see guys from the 80s still doing it and doing it well. Twisted Sister hasn't changed a bit and gave a good show with lots of energy. Likely the last time we will see them in Minnesota since they said it was their farewell. The venue is great. Good sound and good viewing at most any seat. The weather was nice but a bit cold after dark. Thanks for a good time. Likely be back next year.

The warm-up band of Lac & Jil were very good. Twisted Sister seemed to be having the time of thier lives, sounded great. the songs alternated from the Christmas album and past greats. Took my 17 year old daughter and her friend, they had a great time, said it was the most fun concert they have ever been to. Hope to do it again next year

What a fabulous show! The energy put out by Dee Synder and the band was amazing. We brought our 7 year old son and now he just "wants to rock!" It was super fun and a great venue to see it at - the Best Buy Theater in NYC.

This was a show for all ages. Twisted Sister sound as great as they did 20+ years ago when I saw them in clubs. This show was fun! I took my 12-year old daughter and she had a great time -- singing the Christmas carols and rocking out to the Twisted Sister hits. The band looked like they enjoyed putting on the show and we all had a great time seeing/listening to them perform.

I would have liked to have had a schedue of who was playing and when prior to the show. It would have been better to have just 1 stage, so you could see all of the bands. I missed the first part of L.A. Guns, (one of my favorite bands) because they overlaped with Kix. Although I have seen Kix over 100 times (really it's the truth), I refuse to leave while they are playing. Ratt was much better then I expected. I missed Slaughter - another band I really like, becuase they played too early. I'm glad I went and would go again next year. Would like to see Kix, L.A. Guns w/ Phil Lewis, Faster Pussycat, Enuff z Nuff, Michael Monroe, The Cult

The entire event was awesome. I only went to see Kix and was extremely suprised at all the bands. I got to meet a lot of the bands and got some great pictures. One of the best weekends of my life. Y & T were great as well.

The M3 Festival at Merriweather was a long, but great day of music and fun. I enjoyed everything about it. The selection of great bands really brought me in. What was even better was how good everyone sounded. Kix absolutely blew the roof off the place. I feel I got my money's worth. I saw a huge chunk of bands that I have loved for years. Extreme, Slaughter, Ratt, Twisted Sister, Kix, and many more. Great lineup! I hope to see something like this at Merriweather again. I will definately be there. Merriweather Post Pavilion was a great host for a great day of music.

An all day concert featuring some of the best rock artists of the 80's, what's not to like? My favorites were KIx and of course the headliner, Twisted Sister. Kix knew this was a home town show for them and did not disapoint. They blew most of the other bands off the stage with their energy. Twisted Sister gave the crowd everything they wanted and more. Great performance and really got the crowd to participate. Worth the price of admission.

The M3 music festival brought out a plethora of 80s rock/metal acts, some of which hadn't been on the road for awhile. Two stages and 11 hours of awesome music for fans of all ages, this guest left satisfied and wanting more. Janie Lane brought it hard, just like old times. Ratt and Extreme pounded out the hits--a tune-up for their separate tour. Dokken was pretty solid, though not at their best--we miss you George Lynch! Kix--man that Steve Whiteman is the consummate front man--kick ass set. Too many acts to list, though I'd be remiss if I didn't mention two acts from the side stage: Steel Panther and LA Guns. Both sounded amazing. Can't wait for the Steel Panther album to drop--finally got the deserved record deal. Twisted Sister closed the show in full makeup; might be the last time. Would love to see this become an annual event, with rotating bands. Maybe Dio, Cinderella, The Scorpions and others could do next year's show. Kudos to 98 Rock for putting on a great show!

This festival was fantastic. It was like a mini Rocklahoma. Hopefully next year it will be 2 days and have some lesser known bands. For me the 2nd stage was the best, lots of bands you don't see very often, XYX, Steel Panther, Keel, etc... The main stage was great also. While a lot of the line ups may not be totally original the songs and how they are played is what counts, they all had their original lead singers. The weather was perfect, not to hot, humid, lots of sun, just right. Bands I would like to see next year are Lynch Mob, Hugo, Saxon, UFO, MSG, Valentine, Fates Warning, Doro, Jon Oliva's Pain, Circle II Circle, Symphony X, Eden's Curse, Faith Circus just to name a few.

I have to say this was one of the most amazing concerts that I have even been too. The line up was simply amazing! You were always on your toes, it wasnt one of those concerts where your ass fell asleep due to sitting way to long. There was plenty of action and hundreds of crazy & amazing fans to meet, deciding which bands you wanted to see since there was 2 stages. Several bands actually stayed and walked around meeting the fans and were very down to earth. I say bring it back again for several years to come. The only downside to it was not being able to wear high heels due to the hills at Merriweather but other then that myself & several other friends of mine drove in, flew in from other states to see this one day event! They in 7th heave as was I.

All the bands were amazing, it was a real treat to see and hear so many of that music genre in one place. And Merriweather Post is truly the ideal venue for an all-day affair. Everyone I talked to had a fabulous time with only good things to say about their experience at M3. Event t-shirts would be a good idea for next year. Play on!!

The show was awesome and so was the crowd. Obviously the promoters had know idea when it came to KIX in Baltimore. The hometown boys were awesome. Extreme was faced with coming on after Kix, bad place for them to be. Baltimore hopes to see another M3.

I was amazed at how good the bands sounded (with the acception of Dokken, sorry I have always been a huge fan, but they did not sound good, NO George and Don can't sing anymore). The timing on the 2 stages was great and the over all sound was great. I just hope they continue to have this concert, I will attend for sure!! So will my friends.

We drove from Virginia Beach, Va up to Maryland just to see this show. It is about time that a rock festival was held like this here ever. You hear about European countries holding them and the best of the best bands attending them. Dokken, Jani Lane, Y&T, Slaughter, KIX and Twisted Sister brought the house down. The other bands were awesome too, just to many to name. This is my fith time seeing Twisted and my daughter who is only 15 saw them four times. i am glad I got to share this expierence with her. AS ALWAYS, PLAY IT LOUD MUTHA!!!

Great show by all the bands! One problem was that the bands were not "staggered" - the time slots were the same on both stages, so we weren't able to catch part of one band and then the other. Had to choose which ones to miss. Y & T were spectacular, as was Extreme (although I'm not a fan); was very impressed with Jani Lane (with hopes he can keep it together); and of course, blown away by Twisted Sister. Saw then in the 70's with Queensryche at the Wax Museum in DC, and they haven't missed a beat. The energy, the musicianship, the professionalism, and the pure joy for their love of music hasn't changed at all... Thanks for bringing this show to our area - it was much needed. Looking forward to M3 Two!

Great location and great price!!! Loved the lineup because it made me long for the days of big hair and lots of makeup!! Hometown boys Kix took the whole show. It was a beautiful day too!! I didn't get to check out the 2nd stage due to a broken foot so I pretty much stayed put in the lawn all day. But you could hear the music sometimes if a band wasn't on the main stage. Everything was right on time, no waiting around for the bands. The food left a little to be desired but who cares.
