This wasn t so much a show as a party. People were dressed in costumes of course, but Bootsy didn t actually perform. I did get to meet him, which was the trill of the night for me. I would have liked to know that he wouldn t be performing. The Clones of Funk were a good band and they played all of Parliament-Funkadelic hits (cover band too close to the actual act). The venue was nice and I always have a good time at the Howard Theatre.

The Bootsy Collins Halloween Party was a smash...very fit for one of our few living legends. All in attendance were polite and well mannered...the police presence at the event made you feel safe and not intimidated...Bootsy had plenty of T-Shirts, Cd's, Vinyl Records, etc...for the fans to purchase...Bootsy Collins along with George Clinton created a music genre and style that sold millions of records, yet the Recording Academy did not enter a category for Funk music...why?

If you love the funk he is the funk. His show is like a breath of fresh air. His performance along with his band are true musicians. May the funk be with you.
I was disappointed because Bootsy didnt play a bass solo. It was clear there was something wrong with his guitar...but overall I enjoyed his showmanship!!! Dr.Cornell West and Snoop Dog were great!! I would love to see Bootsy again ...hopefully he'll have all the kinks worked out with his performance

I was expecting TM Stevens to play with his band shockazooloo. Was disappointed that I did not get to see TM Stevens open. Bootsy played all of his old favorites. He only played one song off of his new CD! Well 2 if you count Cornell West spoken word part. Snopp Dogg did Gin and Juice. Bootsy played about 90 + minutes. Quite understandable why Bootsy did not play his new CD. Not much party stuff on there! TM played Jimi Hendrix's song Purple Haze. Not a bad show.OH one of the girl singers had legs for days!

The show was only ok. Bootsy didn't play for at least half the show, and frankly we could have paid a lot less to see a decent funk band play down the street, because that's all it was without Bootsy. We paid to see Bootsy, but he was busy taking long breaks in the back I guess. No encore at least, which I totally appreciated.

BOOTSYS BACK BABY!!! The band killed, loved TM Stevens, but he was buried in the back of the show, couldn't see his killer bass....but it is Bootsy's show....maybe that's what's up there. Getting back to the real funk... Purple Haze was amazing...Blackbyrd was sick...and the Sly Stone stuff was off the chain... Mad funk from Razor, Bernie and Blackbyrd...the horns were killer too. What didn't bring the funk was that guy who introduced the band with the pink boa on...audience didn't dig it--wasn't funky...BORING!! Lose that, give us more Bootsy baby!!! this was the first show of the tour, hopefully the funk will tighten up as it goes...go see it, you'll get to see the founders of FUNK!!! :)

Bootsy Collins still has it. He performs many of his old favorites, with some new great songs off of his new album (although he keeps the new stuff to a minimum), and his new backup band is great. I was very happy to see that he was able to get Bernie Worrell and Kash Wady to play with him.

The show began with a great interview of Bootsy, starting from his childhood to playing with James Brown, George Clinton and on to his solo career. When a cut was played from his new album "JB-Still The Man" people were dancing on their chairs. Bootsy later performed some of his signature bass lines and then Thee Ram Jam and two of his students from The Funk University joined in. I recently joined The Funk University and have found it to be a wealth of knowlege.

Mr. Bootsy Collins really put on a show. He looked wonderful. He looked as young as the group of people in the Band. I am happy that he is mentoring and sharing his gifts and talents with you ng people as James Brown and George Clinton did with him many years ago. That means the Funk will live on. Thanks Bootsy for recognizing Chocolate City . DC loves Bootsy and Bootsy loves DC. The show was out of this world. I felt like I was in my teens and twenties again. What a treat!! Great show, Bootsy did what he is known for, rocking the house. The band was tight and on point. The sound was phenomenal. Bootsy is not only a great musician but a great showman as well. Bootsy had the whole house jamming. When you looked around, everybody was jamming. There was no restriction on videoing his performance and the tickets were reasonably priced. I would go see Bootsy again, again, and again. One of the funk legend treasures left, a must to see. Old school funk will never die.

The show was great. Awesome performance! Loved how he felt comfortable with the crowd to come down from the stage and be with the audience, even though security advised him against it. Loved the outfits and the lit up guitar. I love performers that know the reason why they are where they are is because of the fans. Some performers don't want to be around their fan base and Bootsy goes out of his way to be around us. He's an awesome bass player. Its great to be able to still see him play! Love ya Bootsy! The show was absolutely amazing! Cameo opened & was off the hook, and Bootsy was crazy cool! My only complaint is that Chene Park needs more ushers, and it needs to sell seats that exist! After wandering around we finally found someone to show us to our seats, which didn't exist. Apparently their Ticketmaster sales didn't match up with their box office seating. Thankfully the show wasn't sold out so we still had seats.

He did ALL of his most loved songs including "I'd rather be with you", "Stretchin' out", and "Bootsy". The event was titled "Bootsy Collins Hosts Funkiest Halloween Party featuring the Clones of Funk." I bought tickets based on the assumption that this would be a Bootsy Collins show and that he would be playing live on stage. Instead it turns out to have been a promotional party to promote a new album, and the Clones of Funk played, but Bootsy didn't. He merely "hosted" which is not what I paid money for. If I had known what I was paying for I wouldn't have bought the tickets.

Bootsy and his Rubber Band are totally worth it! Go check them out. He wore a Marcel Reece jersey at the end. Dug that! My heart was touched by both him and the band, all of whom were way beyond excellent. The soundman maybe could have turned everyone down a notch because it was so loud that is was kinda washing out at times, at least at the middle of row 11 orchestra level. It was maybe just the mix as heard from that location. The person I was with agreed, but that was just some of the time and it didn't take away from the mind-blowing performance that Bootsy and his band brought. I mean, the Paramount has incredible sound, so I'm just nitpicking one tiny thing from where I was sitting that really didn't bother me, except that I've done live sound, and sometimes you do have to compromise, and sometimes you can't hear what every spot sounds like from where you're sitting so, anyway, what the heck do I know? Hells ya! Unbelievably great show...Highly Recommend Both the Band and the Venue!!

Bootsy Collins is still the ambassador of FUNK! He is unparalleled on the bass and obviously picked the best of the best for the band. I just saw G. Clinton a month ago and I love him too, but BOOTSY was 100% showmanship while delivering music at the highest level possible. You know someone is the real thing when they sound transcendent live, and he certainly did. The show took me back to the high school days; 39 years later and I am still getting the same feeling. It was my wife's first time experiencing "the funk" and was enjoyable for her too!! Needless to say, the songs were too short but understandable at the 60+ age. Back in the day, one song could continue for 20 to 30 minutes in a musical groove. I was very disappointed with the Paramount Theatre operation. There was one concession stand on each of the 3 levels. Lines averaged 30 minutes. The 3 concessions closed 20 minutes after Bootsy took the stage (with no annoucement).

We arrived at 8 when the concert was scheduled to start. We sat thru an okay dj and a fairly good comedien- tuff gig. None of these acts were ever mentioned to be included in the show!. Then the DJ started to get everyone pumped up and excited for Boosty. But instead out came a singer with a keyboardist as back up. She was horrible! It was like watch some tinker bell dressed child prance around the stage with a homemade cape. It was the wrong style of music for that venue. It brought the whole crowd way down. I could hear from the audience that we weren't the only ones disappointed. We tried to stay, but it was unbearable & we had already been there for 2 Hours! I guess they wanted people to keep buying drinks and make as much money as possible. I payed a lot of money for a tour of the paramount with expensive drinks

For two hours there were performers by the local Indianapolis entertainment. The main event didn't get started until 1030.Bootsy Collins did not show up until 1145 and by that time I was pooped irritated and ready to go. He lasted over an hour would've enjoyed him better had he showed up earlier.

Bootzilla put his thing down as expected. He looked great, he played great, and he sounded great. Tight band as expected, didnt' miss a lick! (Lesson he learned from James Brown) I was tickled to see he still has his funky wit and funky wardrobe. The knee high white boots with the stars......his "aluminum foil suits" and his wonderful headpieces! Greas job StageAE! Keep it coming!

Had no idea what to expect, my boyfriend is a fan and I was just along for the ride. I had a blast, even in the pouring rain. Would definitely go see him again and again.

The concert was very good. The music volume was too loud specially when all the instrutments were being played at the same time. Many people around me had to hold their fingers in their ears to reduce the noise levels

Bootsy was true to form with his outfits. It was pure funk from start to finish. You were on you feet the whole time. When he sang "I'd Rather Be With You" I melted. Bootsy is phenomenal!!!!

The Bootsy Collins performance by Bootsy and his 17 piece band is amazing. When the Mother Ship lands look out!! What a showman and nice guy. I've never seen a performer leave the stage, walk on air across the chair tops, touch so many fans and be so loved.

I've seen a lot of Funky shows in my life but Bootsy, this night at the Keswick was TOPS of the TOPS!! The band was solid, the arrangements were tight, the GROOVE was INFECTIOUS!! Bootsy looked vibrant, healthy and truly Happy to be sharing his gift with all of us. I was even a little bit tired just before he took the stage, but once he and the band kicked in i was ALL FUNKED UP for the rest of the show (I could've lasted another couple of hours quite frankly). Keswick Theater and surrounding area was beautiful so all in all an AWESOME night shared with my 22yr old son. THANKS BOOTSY, FOR THE INSPIRATION (and the PERSPiRATION!!).

Bootsy brought the funk down hard in the Steel City! The man still has all the charisma and the cartoon mind that he had 40 plus years ago. His bass playing is still mesmerizing as he has a savant like way of working up the most funky grooves all while emphasizing the "one" beat. The showmanship and musicians were all top notch and on point. Even without the presence of the great Bernie Worrell on keys (illness?) the band smoked like the best of P-Funk in their glory days. All fans of funk should do what it takes to catch this great master of the art called funk. It's not often that you'll get the chance and if the funk gets too hot for your rump, turn the other cheek!

Although the weather was hit or missed we got rained on at times the memories Bootsy Collins brought back far out weighed the forecast. It was a memorable time shared with family and friends. Some songs we forgot about but was certainly reminded. 'Rubberband' and 'I'd rather be with you' were the performances of the night I thought. Outstanding show and a great time!

The God of Funk laid hands upon me as he descended amongst the crowd. My body was as touched as my soul was by the music. Candy was delicious, Peppermint Patty seemed fine, and Raspberry was fruit-a-riffic. But no one drops the bomb like Bernie! Well, Bootsy do come close!!
