Good,to see GT & Destroyers back in Boston proper. It's been a long time since they actually played in the city which many fans adore him and his "rock'in jamboree"! Good sound throughout and great set list lit up the Wilbur on a hot summer night. "Gear Jammer" slammed it home and brought the crowd to a crescendo that lasted the rest of the evening. The Destroyers played well, as they always do, and George's stage side manner with the crowd is always a treat. Keep rock'in George, Beantown loves ya and the rest of the "Bad to the Bone Nation" does too!

What a great event! Imagine seeing "opening acts" that are show stoppers - Charlie Musclewhite and the Kenny Wayne Shepherd band and THEN the best rocker left today - George Thorogood! A tribute to a great artist when he can call in such folks to "open" for him. Every act was truly awesome (I hate that word) - Charlie's harmonica - KWS guitar and vocals and then George - truly a great event on every level!

To see Kenny Wayne Shepherd and George Thorogood in the same evening was absolutely incredible. Add in the Greek Theatre and a warm summer evening. Wham! Probably the best show in my last 20. Couldn't keep still. Kenny and George both rocked and stirred everyone's emotions with a double dose of energy.

KWS opened and played well; we enjoyed his set. GT came on and played 5 or 6 of the same old songs and the concert was over. Maybe George had to catch a plane or something, but we were left feeling shortchanged.

Unbelievable show! George is ageless - rocks just as hard as he did in the '70's. Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a huge star in the raw - his reading of "Voodoo Child" (forgive me!) channeled Hendrix & Stevie Ray, his "Everything is Broken" HAS to be the way Dylan would have wanted it to be if he had Kenny's guitar prowess. Don't drink alone - see these guys if you can!

I mainly went to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd because I love his style, as well as the traditional electric blues genre, but George Thorogood turned out to be a better showman than Kenny - which is what I expected, since George has been doing this for so much longer. The entire event was a well-balanced blend of shred and bottleneck that I will not soon forget! The gain on Kenny's guitar wasn't really tweaked until the third of fourth song, but this was truly a great pairing; bring 'em on again!

This show was killer! Kenny Wayne and crew started their set to a meek response from the crowd, but after the best cover of "Yer blues" I ever heard, said crowd was on board and the band really picked it up from there. They got the people primed. George is like In-N-Out Burger: You know you're gonna get quality product every time! I've seen GT & the dual Ds about eight times and they've never disappointed. If you can't have fun at a Destroyers show, the problem ain't them. If there is one thing to critique, I wish they would've delved deeper into their rich catalog. Aside from a rousingly kickass version of "Gear Jammer", the set was entirely thier classic rock "hits" (which is what most people came to see, I'm sure). Nevertheless, I highly recommend

Great venue. Not terribly loud volume... actually, that may have been a little distracting. I would have enjoyed it to be a little louder. It was too easy to hear people nearby talking... continuously while the show rocked on. KWS played awesomely although not really sure why he doesn't sing the songs. I think they played for about one hour and the change to when GT came on was quick. George ruled the stage and had everyone singing along in the crowd. Great show.

George Thorogood and the Destroyers are great entertainers that truly love what they do! Geoerge is a very high energy level person that performed non-stop for about an hour and a half. He gets involved with the audience and does his entertaining without a lot of "bells & whistles". He relies on excellent singing, guitarre playing and a excellent band.

Brian Setzer is the only reason I give fours stars, and Thurogood is the reason it is four and not five. This guy can barely play his guitar, especially when you see him right after Brian Setzer, it is painfully obvious. He appeals to people's basest instincts, and if you've seen him once, no need to ever see him again. Decent band though, which almost, but not quite, covers up his minimal musical skills. Brian Setzer and his band, on the other hand, are a well oiled machine, and Brian always comes up great new songs and the licks to complement them.

Brian Setzer and his band were great. He really put on a great concert. I have seen George Thorogood and the Destroyers several times and have been wowed by them but this time not so much. We even wondered if he had a tribute band stand in for him and the band. He looked rough and sounded worse. It seemed he was even air-guitaring and part of the show for him is his phenomenal guitar skills.

I was super excited to see Brian Setzer-and his musicianship was outstanding! What a guitar master! Such a treat to hear him play Folsom Prison Blues, and he did a great job on the vocals. His upright bass player was a GREAT performer and he was having a blast! Although I'd say Brian's musical ability was the best, George's showmanship was the best-we didn't sit down for a second. George rocked hard and he was having fun right along with us. This was an OUTSTANDING concert!! I want to also say the venue was great-very easy access, parking super close, traffic was very manageable.

The Effingham Perfomarnce Center is a fine facility, but the AV system that projects video of the performance on two large screens was terrible. Every time the drummer hit the bass drum or the bass guitar played a note, the cameras vibrated to the extent that the video was unwatchable. Unless people in front of were standing, we had a fine view of the stage from our seats, but there are times when it would have been nice to see a real closeup, and the cameras they had added no value to the performance. George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers were solid and entertaining.

I had not seen George and the Destroyers since the 50/50 back in 1981 and then it was 2nd row at Warner Theater in Washington DC. This time it was at the Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh, NC and what a great show. Too bad the turnout was low (not sold out) - cause those people missed a great show.

Phenomenal show from beginning to end!!! I have gone to see many of my old time favorite rock and roll bands and have always enjoyed their concerts. That being said quite often I have discovered that their vocals, musicianship or stamina were starting to show their age. That was clearly not the case when George Thorogood and the Destroyers took the stage. He was like a fine wine that had gotten better with age. He ripped through his guitar with the skill of a master craftsman unchanged by time, but enhanced by his experience and years. His vocals were totally intact and he moved on stage like he was a teenager. The entire audience stood up and rocked from the first song until the last. Great, great concert!!

First. GT & Destroyers delivered 110% + on all expectations. Outstanding musicianship, stage presence, sound, lighting, and arrangements were all as good as they were 35-40 years ago in Vegas. George absolutely rocked the house from the time he walked on stage, until he left at the end. The opening band was one of the worst performances I've ever witnessed, and I must say, that as a former lead guitarist for several bands across the US, I have quit bands better than they are. They had an unbalanced sound, poor vocals, dismal lead guitar, and their songs and style was not a good match for the headliner. The only bright spot was the drummer (rock solid) and the lap steel player who is very talented. Jack in Radio needs to return to the garage and work on the fundamentals that should have been ingrained into them by now. Whoever booked them as the opeining act for GT and the Destroyers, should be working as a greeter somewhere next week as they have no clue what the Blues / Rock genre is all about.

I love his music and I wish he had stuck to it instead of streching it out and adding repeating and repeating and repeating cords that took away from his skills. George Thorogood and the Destroyers were awesome. Some of the best guitar playing that I have seen. George knew how to use the slide and brought the crowd to their knees... His lead guitarist was extremely good. Very enjoyable. Loved the sax... The probation officer let the Destroyers out for the night and they cut loose. Everything was great except after the show when George came back on stage to say hi... but wouldn't sign any tickets. The announcer came on and said you could buy autographs of George in the lobby... Guess the old guy doesn't make enough money to give his autograph away to those that bought every album he produced. came to multiple shows already bought Tshirts and autographed CDs.... Having a personal autograph on a ticket would have been the topping on the cake of 40 years of listening to the greatest rock and roller that ever lived!!!!

Delbert McClinton was possibly the best sounding show I have enjoyed in some time. The sound guys did a great job mixing everything. All the instrumentation could be distinctly heard and the vocals were clear. A big plus in my book when so many bands just seem to want to do a show and go, not caring about the quality of the performance. I give Delbert a big 10! George Thorogood was rockin the place with his show. Lonesome George worked the audience like he does the strings on his guitar. It certainly looks like he still loves playing, and flashin that big ol smile. I enjoyed the show very much and give him a 9, only because when the volume goes up the vocal mix always seem to suffer a bit.

He tried everything he could to get them into it.I myself rocked my butt off also doin' what I could to get the people at my table to cheer more. I think the crowed was a little to old for the kind of show G.T.&Destroyers put on.It's not the first time the crowd ruined a show for me at the Wildhorse. The opening act (Mike Eldred Trio) was not expected but very enjoyable. They came in to perform with George for only a week and I think this was their final show. Excellent Blues/Rock set was a terrific lead-in to The Destroyers. The Destroyers sounded as good as ever and George's guitar playing and vocals were first-rate. The usual warm-up recorded music (Eve of Destruction) and exit music (National Anthem). The only thing missing was the banner proclaiming them "The World's Greatest Bar Band". Kind of missed that! Everything you wanted to hear from "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" to "I Drink Alone" to "Who Do You Love?" to "Bad To The Bone". All in all, a fun night of old-fashioned Blues and Rock and Roll. George was definitely channeling his best swagger and Mick Jagger like stage presence. A bit hammier than I remember (not a detraction from the quality of the performance). 4.5 Stars.

Sandia Casino is a great venue for such outstanding rockers like Brian and George. I don't think there is a seat in the house that doesn't allow a great view of the stage and the amplification is superb. I had an absolutely great night and will do it again for the next great rocker.

George and his band still deliver a great rock-n-roll, blues show. This year is the band's 40th anniversary and they played most of the songs you would expect to hear for him and his band. He was great at engaging the crowd and seemed to still really love what he does for a living. The venue was great as well. I had a great time and everyone else seemed too as well, especially Mister Thorogood himself.

George still has it. He hit all the notes and played most of his favorites. Perfect volume level for 300 seat venue. It's all good if the ear ringing stops by noon the next day. Still singing all the songs one week later. Only missed Alley Oop.

Other than George not aging to well the concert was just what the doctor ordered. Just some old fashioned kick ass rock n roll.

Buddy Guy was fantastic. He encouraged the audience to perform with him, he walked the aisles singing, and just seemed so accepting and friendly. George was good, had lots pf good lights, but he failed to engage the audience like Buddy did. Funny in that a lot of the audience left when George came on. We had our pick of seats. Why? I can only guess.

George was solid but Buddy stole the show. Great show by both. Can't wait to see each of them again.

Starting off the night with Buddy Guy was amazing! He captured the audience immediately. Then George Thorogood came out and sealed the deal. Perfect weather, perfect venue, perfect performers. Could not ask for more. And they serve you drinks at your seats!!!

Warm up with Buddy Guy was waaaaay beyond expectations. Buddy was as good as George and his 14 year old guest Quinn was the most awesome child prodigy guitar player I have EVER SEEN! What a concert. Absolutely top notch. Peoples mouths were hanging open at Quinn's talent!! Unbelievable.

Buddy was fun, energetic and quite good. It was a real treat to finally see this icon in person. George is George. I had seen him four times in the past and the shows are all very similar. Never grow tired of hearing some of the classics but the highlight for me was seeing him perform Cocaine Blues. George needs to add a little more variety to shows to justify seeing him more than once.

An overall great show! Buddy Guy was fantastic. George Thorogood was unforgettable. The show started off with some great blues from Buddy Guy. At 77, he's still got it! Then it shifted into overdrive with George Thorogood's Rock Party.

If you've never seen George Thorogood, he's a legend of Rock. Go see him before he stops touring. His opening band, the Slide Brothers, were also excellent and very talented.

We loved the show - it was a great venue - general admission seating was interesting but it worked out - everyone was well behaved but had a great time - the band did not disappoint playing all of the greatest and doing a tribute to Johnny Cash was pretty special - it was great seeing the young and old(er) generations come together to enjoy a night of really awesome music - Mr. Thorogood was the epitome of the entertainer and did not let his fans down - the opening act was also really good and we thoroughly enjoyed their music.
