The band was pretty good but the acoustics were not. The bass player complained about playing in an "oil barrel" but he had a huge bass rig that was probably part of the problem. The balance was off any time the band got loud. I would really like to hear a solo performance by Ethan Iverson. The music was intellectually satisfying.

Hands down, The Bad Plus Joshua Redman was an outstanding experience. These guys are top notch musicians and they're not afraid to disrupt status quo in a unique way. I had been waiting to hear them live and was so glad Murry's was the place - its an intimate atmosphere! Unfortunately, our seats were in the balcony. The "balcony" at Murry's is just a raised back seating area with barely any visibility to the main stage area. Visibility was very poor. The band was given a table right behind us at the very back of the place, so we overheard some cool conversation and had the first chance to thank them afterwards! Sound quality was great throughout the venue - three times a sound tech made a stop by our area eyeing up the PA system and obviously ensuring that quality was staying top notch! That was great!

Amazing to see The Bad Plus live. They put on a great show. They played lots of songs off of Inevitable Western and a few of their standards. Bassist Reid Anderson is a trip talking about the set.

After waiting over an hour for anyone to even appear on the stage, I was rather disappointed that no announcement or apology was made for starting an hour and 15 minutes late. Even though I knew this what not meant to be typical jazz music, I really did not think it was that extraordinary or amazing. I think I would have in fact preferred some real jazz! Very disappointing overall, especially as I chose this event for my birthday...

The Bad Plus are amazing and nothing beats a attending a live performance of theirs. If you haven't before, check out their calendar and plan to go to their next show. You won't regret it!

This show was amazing. The sound was great, the atmosphere was great and the band was in top form. The songs from the new album, Never Stop, were played improvisationally, yet when I purchased an album after the show and listened I instantly recognized them all. It was a treat to hear "Big Eater", "Flim"(Richard D. James) and "Physical Cities", all songs that my band and I discussed we would love to hear at the show. No matter what type of music you are into, you should do whatever it takes to see this band!

This was my fourth time seeing The Bad Plus and it was easily the best show. As performers the are together and top flight but the difference maker is the new songs. The new originals were some of their best compositions to date. It seemed as though they were able to write for the live performance instead of the studio sterility, so the energy was top notch.

Amazing, engaging soundscapes and surprises, The Bad + bends the boundaries of musical genre from within the language of jazz. Awesome for jazz novices and aficionados alike. Pioneering, and it feels so good...

The Bad Plus has been at the top of my listening list for almost as long as they have been in existence (10 years!) They are supremely talented as individuals and constantly innovative as a trio. Incredible performance!

Phenomenal music-making. Brilliantly virtuosic and authentic grab-yer-guts energy. "Never Stop" is apt. If America honored its best, The Bad Plus would be a national treasure.
