The show was excellent! I was wondering how Ralph would be on stage now at 86, I have seen him many times, and he did not disappoint me. He is fragile, a little forgetful, and could use something in his hands after giving up his banjo. When he stepped up to the mike he was right on key, sounding great. The band was tight, James Allen Shelton's guitar work was inspiring, Nathan Stanley is doing great in the lead singing position. Good job guys.

This show was unbelievably entertaining. Dr Stanley's voice is just as pure and clear as it has always been. His grandson, Nathan, has a strong, sweet sound to his singing that has improved since the last time I saw them a few years ago. I appreciate that they will still sit out in the lobby and take pictures and sign items for their fans. A great bunch of guys.

The performance was great, the fact that we had great seats was icing on the cake. The service drinks, food, and staff deserve credit as well!

Dr Ralph Stanley was amazing. Even though he is aging his voice sounds the same from 40 years ago, a must see show!

Fantastic. Legendary artist, enjoyable venue, great fans. Ralph Stanley sang a majority of songs; his voice is powerful and thrillingly unique. Although this concert is billled as his 'farewell tour,' Ralph let it be known he would leave it up to the Lord to determine how long he'll perform..

Typical Appalachian blue grass. Performers took requests from the audience. Excellent. Fiddler was especially good.

Great fun. Amazing talent. Clinch Mtn Boys really enjoy themselves when performing - lots of laughter and smiling, especially when Ralph says something funny - or when he starts cutting a jig! Glad I got to hear and see Ralph on stage for the first and probably only time (for me). He is getting frail and certainly won't be able to do this much longer. Go see him while you still can!

Extremely entertaining! Ralph doesn't sing every song now but when he does he is excellent. My Vietnamese wife and the Taiwanese wife of our friends were extremely pleased. They told me this opened up a whole new genre of music for them and they loved it. Every musician was extremely talented.

I loved this show and feel so lucky to have been able to attend it. Ralph Stanley sang as good as he ever has, his voice is still strong and wonderful. His band members are all amazing musicians and kept everyone entertained the whole time. I loved that fact that Ralph and his family members made themselves so available for autographs. You do not find that much anymore. I saw him several years ago and he just walked thru the crowd and stopped and signed an autograph whenever he was asked. What a nice, nice man, his music has put an impression on me my whole life. I was blown away by the fact that he actually played his banjo for one song! He just keeps on going, he is a legend and a true example of what the bluegrass community is all about. I love you Ralph! Thank You!

The venue is gorgeous and acoustics were great! To be anywhere at age 84 is great, but to be able to sing that pure, with a tenor voice for the ages is phenomenal. To have your 18 year old grandson performing with you must be great also. The band is a great talent in each individual's right and the sound was superb!

I just recently got into bluegrass music and decided to go see the legend Ralph Stanley himself, in New York of all places. It was definitely a good time. The Clinch Mountain Boys played some great songs and Ralph sounded awesome as well. I'm so glad I was able to see him and able to meet him at the end of the show!

The B.B. King Blues Club provided an intimate setting for an enjoyable but brief evening of traditional bluegrass. You should be aware that The B.B. King Blues Club has a $10 drink minimum per person per set, and that three lousy drinks cost me $61, but that is certainly not Ralph Stanley's fault. At 83, Mr. Stanley does not play the banjo much, but his voice is in great condition and cuts right through you. His band, featuring a fiddle, 5-string banjo, two guitars and a stand up bass are all capable pickers, but in my mind too much of the lead vocals are handed over to Mr. Stanley's grandson, Nathan Stanley, whose smooth CMT-friendly delivery is a little too polished for my taste. The show clocked in at just over an hour featuring all of the songs you'd expect from "The Man of Constant Sorrow," "Oh Death," (sung a capella a la O Brother Where Art Thou) "Orange Blossom Special," White Dove," and many other predictable bluegrass standards.
