Good show. Very talented band. Theye are just great musicians that don't need all the bells and whistles to sound amazing.

After seeing the Trews 9 times now, I honestly didn't think it could get any better. But it did. Adding Rich Robinson to the mix was amazing in my opinion. I wish I could see this exact show a thousand times more. Calgary crowd was rude and noisy and unappreciative, but the Trews and Rich were perfection!! I HIGHLY recommend to anyone who truly loves music and unbelievable talent.

The Trews brought their A game as they always do! Mixing in songs from their latest album "Hope and Ruin" with crowd favorites from the past. The Trews always give 100% to their audience no matter the size. Luckily, Frankie's brought the crowd out that night.

This was the perfect concert - a blonde invited up on stage to gyrate with the band, a mini Led Zeppelin jam with the opening act (who by the way were the loudest and most personable opening act I've ever seen - maybe that's why they have their own show called "Z rock" on the IFC network) and a venue that was so intimate that you could get sprayed with sweat (you gotta love that! and which begs the question - why does Colin MacDonald where long sleeves and a vest when he gets so hot and sweaty???) Most of the audience were obvious Trew loyalists (Trew-ists???) - some came across the river from Sarnia and Windsor, some drove across the state from Grand Rapids and most (like me) were from the Detroit area. And then there was my brother who drove TO Wisconsin from Michigan to see them perform during the summer. Hopefully though there were some newbies in the audience who haven't heard The Trews - yet. Those of us who do know them are mind-boggled that their music hasn't crossed over into the elusive and presumably, lucrative States. But having lived outside of Port Huron where I listened to Sarnia's Best Rock - K106.3 - I heard lots of Trews (and Theory of a Dead Man, Default, Wide Mouth Mason and Sam Roberts) and I go to their concerts whenever I can, in fact, last night was my 5th Trews concert (2 in CA and 3 here). And because they are SO good, my other brother came with us last night and now he knows why I talk about The Trews all the time - THEY ROCK!!! If you want to see a really, really, really great rock show and for a really, really cheap price (Good God - tickets are a freaking $10 each!!!) then GO SEE THE TREWS! They will rock you. You will rock them and you'll make sure you see them again and again.

The Trews are one of the most incredible bands to see live. They always give 100% at each and every show. I was excited to see them at Massey Hall (first show there for both the band and myself). This particular show included an acoustic set followed by an electric set. Both were absolutely amazing. If you get a chance you have to see them - you won't regret it.

Venue was perfect for acoustic and electric. We had an "obstructed view" seat, which did not seem to be a problem. We could see just fine. Sound was amazing.

merrysland (the opener) was fantastic and the glorious sons were even better... i left after them since ive seen the trews like 4 times in ontario . and truthfully i'm not a huge fan of them anyway.. but as for the venue. . i can't say i would rush out to buy tickets for there again. It is clearly just a converted nightclub with the stage taking half of the dance floor.. I'd really suggest going to see the glorious sons they are very passionate about their music and thruly Canadian. check them out... and avoit tickets at Union hall

This was not only a really rocking show but also a really fun show. The crowd was involved from the beginning. It was a great setlist including 5 songs from their new self- titled album "The Trews" along with a bonus track,"Life Is Good", from the iTunes album version. Since I hadn't heard that song before it was a special treat. Setlist also included some of the best tracks from earlier albums. The audience was very happy to sing along as Colin held the mic out over the audience and said 'sing". There is nothing quite like a Trews show!!! The whole audience joined in for songs like "Ismael & Maggie" (one of my favs) and "Sing Your Heart Out". The band was in great form and John-Angus was stellar on the lead guitar. I would highly recommend atttending a Trews show for the outstanding musicianship and vocals and a totally fun show. Their energy is unparalleled and The Trews play some of their absolute best shows at Frankies.

Having seen The Trews many times I was not surprised that they completely kicked ass even with the smaller venue. First time at Frankie's - great place to see a show; the sound was incredible. The awesome thing about The Trews is that no matter the size of the venue they continue to rock the stage as if they were playing in a large stadium. They are one the best live acts I have seen which is why I continue to attend their concerts. They give 100% each and every time they hit the stage. You have to check them out.

If the opportunity should present itself to see The Glorious Sons and The Trews, together or separately, do yourself a favor and GO. I flew up from Virginia to see this concert (on my birthday, nonetheless) and it was insane. Just beyond words. The audience was into the show from the minute the first band walked on stage until well after the lights came up. The bands were so good, everything so sharp, the energy so high. If I had access to a time machine, I'd go back to Saturday night and go to that show again and again and again.

A great show from start to finish. Glorious Sons lead off with a high energy set that blew the crowd away. very John popper styling by the lead singer. Then the Trews blew the doors out with an impressive and well received set that covered their entire discography. A truly epic show.

I've seen the Trews many times, this was by far the most exciting, energetic and fantastic show ever. I am never disappointed by the Trews, their shows are always amazing but this one was above and beyond what I expected. They mixed in new songs with old and one song was better than the last! We all walked out shaking our heads at what we just saw, it was truly amazing. Makes me never want to miss another Trews show

Great show, fun relaxed and intimate environment. Twitter influenced second set was pretty nice. Red Wanting Blue was a brilliant opening act. Certainly one of the best openers for The Trews I have seen.

Great/memorable experience seeing The Trews in a small venue like Frankies. If you haven't given these guys a listen, trust us- they're worth every moment. Awesome guitar licks driven by heart pumping drums and bass and topped off with a voice you won't soon forget. Good, clean, honest rock and roll.

I recently saw The Trews at the Mercury Lounge in NYC and they were great! Since they are a Canadian band they don't come to the states as often as I wish they would so everytime they are in the area I make it a point to go see them. They put on a great show and their music is fantastic!

The Trews, as usual, were great! They play an amazing intimate show every time. The only problem was the seats didn't have the greatest view... Other than that, amazing.

One of the few bands who actually sound the same as their record if not better when playing live is The Trews. Hailing from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, they visited Vancouver not for the first time but they rocked The Vogue on Saturday night like it has never been rocked before. The Trews have been on tour for the better part of the year with their acoustic set Friends and Total Strangers, the album released October 2009, which reinvents their classic hits and intersperses some unreleased rarities and new songs. They re constantly pushing themselves in the studio and onstage, always ready to give an intuitive and intense rock \u2018n roll show. Last night was no different. The two-tiered theatre was packed with people, even some standing at the back for lack of better seating. The show opened with Tim Chaisson, a singer from P.E.I. who has been on tour with them across Canada. Like John Mayer with an East Coast vibe he played an impressive Celtic reel on the violin and crooned six numbers before vacating the stage for the main act. The moment the boys hit the stage the crowd erupted. Decked out in leather jackets, flannel, and vintage rock t-shirts, they started it off with their latest single released just for the acoustic album Sing Your Heart Out . The first half of the show was done with just the original members of the band. After intermission they came out with Jeff Heisholt, who regularly accompanies them on the accordion. Also on stage with them were Tim Chaisson and his back up guitarist from the opening act. The sound was so rich and powerful you often forgot it wasn t an electric show. You guys are loud, we love it! shouted Colin MacDonald, the lead singer. One thing we can always count on is coming to the Vogue and having an awesome show. As they ve played the Vogue before, and seem to enjoy Vancouver crowds, they promised to be back. Not to mention we kept the giant balloons they threw into the audience afloat past intermission, longer than any other city. They were very impressed. With four albums in seven years, two of them gold; 10 Top-10 singles, two of them No.1 and one gold; multiple awards, for best single, video and live group; and close to 800 live shows under its belt, the Canadian rock band never rests. This tireless band is hard at work writing for their next album, due for release in 2011, and true to character, they will hit the road this summer to do what they do best \u2014 play live.

Incredible harmonies and musicianship. 2 sets. Over 2 hours of music. This tour is as close to a full out rock show as you will get, except they are using acoustic guitars. Make sure you go see this tour. It is not to be missed. Truly one of Canada's best bands.

Great vocals with fantastic showmanship equals a very good show. Thought they were having a tough time connecting with the audience because of the crowd noise. But hey, that's rock'n'roll!

The Trews are a band that will never disappoint. They put so much energy into their shows. I will always go see them given the opportunity. They seemed to have a bit of technical difficulty that was beyond their control but they knew exectly what to do to cover.
