Sure...I am a Menomena fanboy. And yes, if they sat in their iconic bathtub together and made bubbles, I would think it genius, but no one can say that they put on a bad show at the Crystal Ballroom. The place was in a frenzy. The crowd sang along to all of their new songs. They played some favorites off of Friend and Foe, and most important of all, they delivered a kick-ass show. Danny did what he does best on drums, and Brent and Justin played their hearts out. Having Joe Haege from Tu Fawning play the 4th guy in their live sets added much more depth than one would have thought. Speaking of Tu Fawning, they opened the night and did a wonderful job. I think I need to listen to their album more to appreciate the complex melodies they were treating the early birds to. It sounded great. One of the biggest suprises for me was Akron Family. These guys are pure performers. They got the crowd warmed and and ready to go for Menomena. I can see great things for Akron Family in the future. I definitely will be looking into their music.
