Rockbottom Remainders was really creative and fun and good musically, as well. It was a very enjoyable evening.

This was the weirdest and one of the most entertaining shows I have been to in a long time. Although only two of the dozen or so performers onstage were professional musicians, they were all serious entertainers. Amy Tan, in a black mini, fishnets and biker cap beating the butts of 8 bestselling authors with a little whip was hilariously unforgettable! What they lacked in musical genius, they more than made up for in wit, enthusiasm and the willingness to go to almost embarrassing extremes to entertain. All for a good cause too-- the Phila. Library needs all the help it can get. As their t-shirt says, it was some "hard listening music"!

I loved it, but would have loved a print out of the band members so that I could recognize the authors. I really enjoy Roy Blount on NPR, but could not understand his introductions of the band members...maybe it was the sound system or the general excitement//noise of the band during the intros.

to think that so much literary talent was on the stage, and that their musicianship was equal to their literary skills, made for a turly memorable eveing. You could also see there was a real camaraderie amoungst the performers! And all this to support the Free Library, could anything be a better experience?

It was a fundraiser for the Free Library of Philadelphia and it was a blast. The band was made up of several famous authors such as Scott Turow, Dave Barry, Amy Tan and Mitch Albom, among others. They were having such fun performing that it showed, and the audience responded. They sang everything from country to oldies, such as These Boots Are made For Walking (Which Amy did in her own bdsm style) to Wild Thing and Gloria. The crowd was into the music and they totally enjoyed the performance. It was an evening to remember.
