Ok Go

OK GO IN CONCERT:Not many indie rock bands are as irresistibly charming as OK Go. They create truly infectious, sunny alt pop songs and perform them with loads of charisma and quirky playfulness in concert. With confetti cannons exploding at any given time and Andy Warhol-inspired visuals surrounding the stage, this is a band that relishes the art of performance and transforms shows into interactive experiences. One impressive trick they're known for is prompting the crowd to make certain noises, recording the audio, and then playing it back in a song.

OKGO does a wonderful job of incorporating the audience, pulling the heart strings, sending the audience into peels of laughter, and delivering on musical performances that are as energetic as they are sincere. Would absolutely recommend to a friend and would love to see them again.

There stage show was as innovative as their videos. They sound better live than recorded which is a rarity today. Also for those who only know them from their videos, they have some really amazing albums and this new one might be their best. Go and you'll have a blast.

The show started with two opening acts (The Booze, who were very very good, and the other I can't remember the name of). Then Ok Go came on. It was high energy right off the bat with them blasting the audience with confetti. The show was very interactive (including handing out plastic tambourines, Damian jumping off the stage to sing among the crowd, the band members playing of their songs with hand bells, and so much more). All in all, I'd DEFINITELY pay to see them again. Even got a copy of the live concert I just listened to immediately after the show!

Why were they so amazing?!! I can't get over how amazing they were. The openers The Booze and Earl Greyhound were also good, perfect for getting me pumped for the GLORY that was OK Go. Def wanna try to see them again in August.

On top of the fun and energetic music that we can all rely on from OK Go, their show conveys the same playful and enthusiastic attitude throughout. Plus, they kick ass!

I have seen OK Go many many times, and have never left unhappy. Last night was no exception. I defy you to go to a concert that includes handbells, guitars that shoot lasers out of the headstocks, and a confetti cannon, and NOT have a good time. It's just impossible. These boys are genuine Rock Stars.

My first time at TLA and seeing OK Go. I must say, it was excellent both ways! I don't love TLA's no re-entry policy nor do I totally get why they won't accept credit card in this day and age, especially since it is $10.25 for a large beer. All that said, the acoustics were great in TLA and the staff was friendly. Ok Go is a must-see in my book. They are simultaneously futuristic (fun electronice toys and lasers on guitars, what?!) and progressive (if you can call hand bells progressive), while at the same time raw (coming out into the audience for an acoustic song and otherwise belting notes at the top of your lungs without pitch correction). These guys leave it all on the stage.

No one puts on a more fun show than ok go, and this was no exception! The band was having a great time, the crowd was having a great time... and Damien was, as always, adorable! Just an awesome show. Took my daughter and her friend to what would have to be described as their introduction to an intimate Rock Show. Too much smoke, too loud, too much fun -- perfect! The Booze just seemed to have fun and both liked them very much. Fairly raw but they did indeed have an infectious fun nature. Earl Greyhound was pretty talented but you had to want a little headbanger influence for it to be enjoyable. Got to meet the drummer post-show and he was a pleasure to talk to. OK Go was as advertised - good fun, technically sound, fairly intelligent and intimate, etc. Have to give them a lot of credit for attending a small venue like this and making a relatively small number of people very happy. I'm a convert as a 50ish attendee - I enjoyed the whole thing thoroughly.

My overall rating is in reference to OK GO ONLY....the opening bands were a three at best and I'm being generous....primarily because of the poor sound quality. Great music, great performance, great crowd, great show!

Both opening bands were not good. Second being horrible. Loud and not worth ruining your hearing for the rest of your life. Ok Go began play at 9:45 which is too late for the middle of the week. We were so annoyed that we had a hard time enjoying OK GO show which was decent and the only reason for the fair review. Will think hard before going to the Blue NOte during the week again and will remember ear plugs if I do.

OK Go puts on one hell of a show! I liked when they played church handbells, and I also thought it was cool when they kept throwing tons of tambourines into the audience! They were super entertaining and creative with their performance, and the music sounded like it was straight off the record! Everything was spot on, and they seemed like really cool guys too. They recognized a fan from the crowd who had put a drum cover of one of their songs on youtube, so they pulled him up on stage and let him play the drums to one of their songs! I think it's really cool that they care about their fans enough to watch all those youtube covers of their songs and even be able to recognize an individual fan at one of their shows.

By the time Ok Go came out, we'd already been there for two and a half hours and listened to two bands that majorly sucked. The Booze seemed like a flimsily-inspired Beatles rip-off, with their singer dancing around like he had an unfortunate medical condition and the other guys barely moving at all. Earl Greyhound was painfully amateur, and their outfits made me laugh in confusion. Were they all interested in the same genre of music? Hard to tell. They put out an album "independently" - need I say more? So we were about ready to leave in disgust with Ok Go finally appeared, but they were great, and the show had the kind of clever, delightful playfulness that one expects after watching their awesome music videos. I was only disappointed that the lead singer was the only one to talk and we didn't get to engage with the other guys. They looked great, though, and the music was all we'd hoped for.

I've been going to OK Go shows since they used to open for They Might Be Giants in the early 2000's. They have always put on such a fantastically fun-filled show, full of imagination and creativity. Most recently, they've added church hand bells to their musical instrument repertoire! Add to that, an ever-flowing confetti machine and you've got an evening of fun! I am and will remain a big OK Go fan and will always go see them live whenever I have the chance!

OK Go played a high energy set in the very intimate setting of the Grog Shop in Cleveland. They played several songs off of their upcoming CD coming out in January along with many favorites. They played their hand-bell version of "What to Do" which was amazing to see live. After the show they mulled around with the crowd promoting their new album, signing people up for their email list and chatting and visiting. Fame has not gone to these guys heads and they are a pleasure to meet and talk to. If you ever get the chance to see one of their shows, GO! You will not regret it.

This was the best concert I have ever attended. Besides the fact that OK Go has some of the most interesting and unique music out there, they are incredible live. Damian Kulash (lead singer, guitar) has great pipes, and he makes the show interesting with witty banter and jokes. He alone made the show worthwhile. Tickets were a steal at only $12, I would have paid twice as much. Also, the band stayed after the show to talk to attendees, and they were all really cool guys who cared about their fans. All around, this was a great show.

I recently saw OK GO in March at the Warfield in San Francisco, and I couldn't help but go see them again on the same tour at the House of Blues in San Diego. These guys really know how to put on a show. I got way more out of this concert than I paid for. The band always sounds great, they use just the right amount of confetti, and they don't fail to express their nerdy selves in front of the crowd. Before I first saw them in March, the only songs I knew by them were from their iconic music videos. But after watching them perform, I totally fell in love and actually listened to their music, which turned out to be just as amazing as their videos and concerts. I'm glad I got to experience this band, and if you want a real concert experience, I recommend seeing OK GO.

So we knew OK GO would be visually stunning and musically skilled but we had no idea their show would be truly memorable. We were slightly disappointed that Kitten replaced the previously scheduled White Arrows - until she/they took the stage. The originals were good and the covers (Bowie's "Heroes" and Prince's "Purple Rain") were inspired so all in all an entertaining opener. The stage antics and flailing about were a bit much but love the energy. OK GO had by far the coolest opening sequence that I can recall - and we average 20 shows per year. The see thru screen with countless OK's and GO's uttered in various clips by all manner of pseudo-celebrity was clever, and the continuous usage of these screens throughout the show allowed for video and special effects without overshadowing the still-visible band. A less musical outfit could rest on these visual laurels but they kicked some serious live show ass. Six songs from the new record (best listened to on vinyl) and a perfect sampling of previous offerings were well-sequenced and offered a formidable song catalog. And the no visuals Led Zep cover demonstrated that this band can rock. The Q and A sessions were classic and the camaraderie amongst the band creates the kind of inspired interplay that cannot be learned (Kongos recent show had a similar vibe between the brothers) and elevates the show above most others. Oh yeah, the confetti cannons were a nice addition. Great show and awesome sound - doesn't get any better than this...

OK GO has got to be one of the most energetic bands on stage I have seen in a while. I am a hard core concert veteran. I have seen about a billion shows and this one is on the top of the memorable list. They put on a great performance. Not just a music concert. I took my Boyfriend who is an avid country music fan (I have been trying to turn him) and caught him totally jamming out. Loved the theatrics. They have a vibe that just does not stop. They get the audience motivated and involved and make everyone feel loved!! Kitten.... was okay. They played well but I thought the girl on stage was going to have a melt down. She looked like a tasmanian devil on crack. I was taking bets on how long it would take her to whap her head off of something on stage. She even jumped off of the speakers and showed the crowd her boobs. WAY too high for stage. Or speed. or whatever makes you act like that.

The show was great! Techno visuals with Q&A portions of the show made for a unique experience. The music was straight on wonderful. The only bummer: The tickets read showtime at 7:00. It turned out to be "doors open at 7:00 and the band takes the stage after 8:30." Just a bit of mis-communication on the ticket seller's part.

Even though they came out 45 minutes late, they were worth the wait!!! They put on such a great and personable show. They shared stories with the crowd, they even performed a section of Les Miserable which I loved because I was recently in that play a couple months ago. The stage set up was fun and interesting. Their songs were all great, we had fun dancing the whole time. Lead singer Damian came out into the crowd and sang one song, which was up close and awesome! And the best part was after the show, he came outside to meet and greet with the fans, and not only did pictures and autographs, but he also took the time to actually have conversations with people and answer any questions they had. Me and my friend got there just in time to see the second band finish. After buying our beer we got to see the set up of the band equipment. As soon as I saw the image projections and confetti canons I knew this concert was going to be awesome. I can't really say that terminal 5 is a great venue but we got a great view from the general standing area. However it didn't matter where your were standing, Damian and the rest of the band made you feel welcome. Damian came out into the crowd and got sang for all the hippies out int he audience. Then the band surprised us with a 3D viewing of their music video white knuckles which was excellent not only because it was in 3D, but because we were the exclusive crowd to see it and we got free 3D glasses! After the band took a break they came back out with an awesome laser show using there guitars and fog. Then they finished of with the always- crowd-involved "This too shall pass". After that song my voice was gone from all the singing and screaming I did. And of course Damian took a epic crowd surf. The best rock concert I have ever been too. And that's no lie!!

OK Go was incredible! Man, when they put on a show, they really put on a show. There was a 3D video for everyone to view plus guitars with lasers and fur. They had light up LED jackets that read "OK Go" and then had their own personal picture lit up as time went on. They impressed the entire crowd with their hard bell performance. Plus, Damian Kulash (lead singer) came out into the crowd to perform "Last Leaf" on an intimate rate. A descriptive review of the show clearly means fantastic and that you need to see them ASAP.

This was my second Ok Go concert, and I plan to keep attending concerts as long as I can afford tickets. Ok Go never disappoints. If you like high-energy music, sarcastic / irreverent musicians, and ironic hipster esthetic, you will love an Ok Go concert. Just don't stand next to the drunken middle-aged mothers who scream "I LOVE YOU DAMIAN I COULD EAT YOUR FACE" and then grab at the lead singer when he enters the crowd. Synopsis: Music, excellent. I've been to well over 40 concerts in my life (yes, I'm on the older side...whatevs) and I highly recommend checking these guys out!

I went to see The Booze and they did not disappoint. They played like legends and infected our souls with true rock n' roll. This band has the ability to become legends and hall of fame inductees. The singer, Chaz Tolliver, can be compared to Mick Jagger with his vocals and movements. Did I just compare him to Mick Jagger? I'm sorry, he is even better! Chaz turns the stage into an electric dance of primal rhythms and his spirit soars far above the audience. You must see him perform before you die. The band has the best song composures I have heard since The Strokes first came out and they are all so fun to listen to. I would even compare them to The Beatles, honestly, I do not know why these guys are not huge all over the world. The band just sways with swagger and plays together so well. They are soulmates on the stage and every one of them played so cool. The guitarists, Randy Michael and Brian Roberts, sounded great! I was right in front of one of their music man amps, I think it was a music man, and I could hear both of them play in between each others rhythms and strums. They gave the songs a bounce and step that was really hard not to dance to. I was so high after hearing them. The bass and drums were brilliant. Drummer PJ Curtis was dead on and nailed the songs together like a fine craftsman. Bassist Jonny Gleaton was so cool. The riffs they were all playing contained hints of past legends. It seems like they listened to the coolest music and made it their mission to bring back the cool. You know that old hard hitting rhythm like Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, The Animals, The Kinks, and the list can just keep going. They have that! Please come back to Denver and headline a show. Bring Tres Bien, The Love Me Knots, or some other bands that will keep your flavor in our ears. I did not like the three bands of the night together. I thought it was such an eclectic and diverse arrangement. I honestly just loved The Booze. Earl Greyhound was great. They had some amazing guitar solos and dirty bass riffs. I liked some of their songs, but it just wasn't my style. Their drummer was awesome. Biggest bass drum I have ever seen. We stayed for 1 OKGO song and left shortly after. They were good, though. Very tight. Peace out!

The Ok Go concert at The Basement was amazing! These guys are one of the best bands I have ever seen live...and although The Basement is a small venue, if you get there early you can be practicly on the stage, you are so close. The show was great! If you haven't seen OK Go yet in concert...get tickets! They are so worth it!

This was an intimate performance, with the feel of a one-on-one with the artists. Amazing rapport with the attendees - anyone who is a fan or just casually decided to go got basically front of the stage passes. Any closer or more open of a forum and you'd have been playing along with the band on stage. It was mentioned by the band that there may be interest in taking this kind of event on the road - that is a "no brainer" in my opinion. Just fabulous.

This show was less a rock concert, and more a conversation with the band (at which they also play music). OK Go traced their videography from start to finish, pausing between most of the songs to take questions from the audience and share the stories behind their videos. The videos were played on the screen behind them with each song. If you appreciate their music and their videos this is a must see.

Seriously, they always go above and beyond in every show they do, and this one was no different. Ok Go pulled out all of the stops with dances, hand bells, and apps so you can play along with the vocals. They answered questions and invited kids up on stage with them. Truly the best band of our generation ❤

In the same way that OKGO revolutionized the music video world, they ve done the same with concerts. This was not your traditional concert in which the audience watched a performance. This was interactive, fun, entertaining, educational, and exciting all at once. Between the confetti canons, the stories and Q&A between songs, the live dance performances, the videos accompanied by the band playing, the handbell performance, the interactive app, and the audience participation, this was a concert for everyone. My sons had the best time ever. Their favorite thing was the app one of the band members had created so the audience could play a musical instrument (their phones) along with a song. It was excellent, innovative, and so much fun. We played the app all the way home. I m spoiled for good now....no concert will measure up, no matter how talented the performers. Way to go, OKGO...you re always at the front.

They played all their hit songs along with the awesome videos they ve created. Took time to answer questions from the audience and got the entire crowd involved in the concert. It was a fun, family friendly night. Will definitely go see them again!

Seriously, definitely in my top five. Maybe my favorite ever. And I've been to some great shows. These guys played such a tight set, scoring their videos, and the intimate atmosphere of the venue, along with the Q&A, and the interactive portions of the show made it such an unforgettable experience. my only critique is that the confetti (while fun) made it tough to see the screen sometimes. It might have been too much.

This is my second time seeing them in concert. While nothing compares to firsts, this concert was still absolutely amazing. I love that they do a Q&A in between sets with the audience. Confetti galore. A must see if you're at all familiar with the band (you should be).

I had never had the privilege of seeing Ok Go live. I've been a fan of their music for quite a few years now and finally got my opportunity. Often bands don't perform at the level they do in studio due to the ease of digital recording. You can understand that I was nervous going in. I quickly found myself relieved, Ok Go was amazing live. They played just about every song I wanted to hear and the smaller venue made it feel far more intimate. They rocked the house and left me and my friends with a very fond memory. As far as the venue, the Moore Theater, is concerned: the Moore Theater is small, yes, but it was quite enjoyable. It heightened the show experience without needing to be overdramatic in presentation, I look forward to visiting this venue as much as I can from here on out.

Ok Go put on a fantastic show, as they always do. They sounded great. Lots of energy. Their confetti-blowing machine is always cool and pretty. Damian Kulash waded out in the crowd to play "Last Leaf" which is such a pretty song. They passed out 3D glasses & showed their "White Knuckles" video in 3D. I've seen Ok Go three times and they always put on such a wonderful show, they are always trying out new things to add to the experience. You always end up leaving their show with a happy feeling. The Honors I was seeing for the 1st time. They were excellent. I went home & immediately bought their latest album. Middle Class Rut was really not my cup of tea. Just didn't care for their music that much.

OK GO was a ton of fun to watch. Musically they were great and played well together. The lead singer was charismatic. And they show had lots of unique elements to keep it interesting. They shot confetti at the audience during climactic musical moments, the lead singer played one song from the middle of the audience and they even played one song on bells. Lots of fun and high energy show.

this was the third time i've seen okgo, and they top themselves every single time. they're a thoughtful creative band that brings great energy to their shows and truly care about their fans and creating the best show possible. it's almost like a surprise party seeing what brand new thing they've added to their shows, but luckly they don't just rely on special effects and gimmicks to keep the show going, they truly deliver sonically as well. also, they still play stuff off their first album, which i think is a true mark of a band making conscious effort to please their long-time fans. the only thing i didn't absolutely love about this show was the venue set up (club nokia has great acoustics, but their setup is just odd. various tiered barriers, poorly placed pillars, and they only let the very front section get like half full, sort of like the wiltern), and the ridiculous parking prices at la live. also not all the people in the crowd were, ahem, my sort of people, but this generally happens when bands get more popular, but my advice to anyone going to any rockshow is: you are at an awesome concert, act like it. don't talk to your friend the entire show, don't expect people to move because you were standing there like 20minutes ago. but these things are of course not the fault of okgo, and i would definitely see them again.

OK Go was great show, really great. The first opening band was alright (Summer Darling), the second put everybody to sleep (A Fine Frenzy). Even the songs while waiting for the second band were putting us to sleep. During the second band, people were sitting down and checking email. After the second band, everybody sat down, it completely cooled down the audience and it was a bad choice for something like OK Go. Anyway, it was raining while we were waiting for the doors to open, and the line was under a covered area. The guys from Club Nokia reorganized the line and put us under the pouring rain! Unbelievable!!! Then after a few minutes, some people in the dry part of the line told us to cross the dividers and get under the covered area too, close to them. I could not believe the organizers.

Wish i knew they didn't come on until 11pm. Never saw OK GO. Too late, I had to be in work at 6am the next day. The 1st 2 bands were great! So nice to hear some new music. Would have loved to see Ok,but it didn't happen. Had to leave at 10:30pm. Hopefully they'll be around again when I have the next day off.

From the first (of many) confetti avalanches to the encore complete with light up jackets and guitar laser show, this concert was amazing! I have been a fan of okgo's for close to ten years and they never cease to amaze me with their showmanship. You never know what will happen next at an okgo show! This time they tantalized the audience with a fantastic mixture of music from all three of their cd's and threw in one performance using only handbells and the vocal stylings of Mr. Damian Kulash. We also got to enjoy a 3-D version of one of their videos complete with retro blue and red glasses. Thanks okgo, can't way to see you again!!!!

I am very particular about live bands. Most of the time when I hear live versions of songs on the radio I change the station. But, OK GO was awesome live. The sound quality and everything was great. They kept the audience engaged and having fun.
