The Riders were very typically the Riders. If your a Riders fan every show is the same... just great big fun. I been going to various Riders gigs for almost forty years (1977... I'd have to take off my shoes to do the math). First time they were one of the acts on the bill with this other band: The Grateful Dead, who were pretty spot on, too. As long as they keep playing We'll keep going to see them. Alright, Alright! I get it man! The Mine Was Not At Issue Anymore!!!

the band was great. David Nelson after show stopped for an autograph and picture. The wonder bar security were nasty and my friends girlfriend was wrongly accused and arrested Otherwise we had a good time.

Great venue and really looked forward to the show. The band looked bored, no audience engagement and rote performances. Really disappointed.

The current touring line up of the NRPS is GREAT!!! Dave Nelson and Buddy Cage have surrounded themselves with great players that deliver the spirit and energy of the New Riders that you fell in love with in High School. Johnny, Mike and Ronnie fill the shoes of the departed Marmaduke, Dave and Spencer brilliantly. We try to see them as often as possible knowing they will serve up a buffet of both familiar and more recent tunes seasoned just right. The venue was great as well, it was full but you didn't feel packed in and crowded. Professor Louie opened the show and joined the New Riders for several tunes. What an enjoyable evening! Hope to repeat this night soon.

Warm up band better. Too loud and out of tune. Every song sounded the same.

The band brought back memories of the 70's when they were one of San Francisco's best. Most of the night was highlighted with jams that were all part of their songs. Thoroughly enjoyed the steel pedal and the man who played the accordion of the band who opened before them. I did however miss the band not playing Panama Red and not having an encore. Maybe that they ended at 11:30 and had played for over 2 hours was part of that decision.

Some groups get better with age. I think this group should retire. The effort was there, the instrumentals were there, but the singing was more like\u2026\u2026.. Well I don t know. I will stick with my CD s and remember the OLD RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE . NOW the group that opened PROFESSOR LOUIE & THE CROWMATIX was fantastic. Will be looking for more of their appearances.

Commander Cody and the band rocked the Birchmere - real entertainment. Sound mixing could have been refined, though.

The New Riders were great as always - if they play there again next year I know five friends who'll want to go. =)
