Seth, Jessica, & Paul Defiglia all walked onto the stage with mugs of hot tea in their hands, and dressed in really comfortable-looking business-casual attire. The stage itself was decorated to look like a home kitchen. The trio then proceeded to play the most intimate concert that I've ever been to. The songs were incredibly deep, the passion in their singing and playing was palpable, and the crowd seemed to hang on their every word & note. At one point, Seth was performing a song with solo vocals, and you could watch Jessica walk to the back of the semi-operational kitchen to prepare more tea (with fresh honey) for the whole trio... It was just so unique in every way possible, and unbelievably memorable. I really wish this tour was longer, because I would recommend it to everyone that I know!

This collaboration between a world class musician and touring band member, with a relative newcomer to the indie scene (think fiona apple with guitar virtuoso blake mills but when fiona was just getting started) is daring in the complex material it hopes to promote. elliott smith is hardly a household name, and yet his grim legacy of depressogenic lyrics caught the attention of the senior Avett brother. Jessica has a peculiar appeal, with simplistic musical skills yet wrenching vocals. Her vulnerability makes this work as Seth Avett is one of those rare crossover musicians with a midas touch. Avett has enough talent, energy and soulfulness, that whatever he touches actually turns into something rare and beautiful. I confess that the best moments for me were covers of George Harrison and Neil Young\u2014but the tone poems and arrangements of the posthumous songwriter were beautiful and sad.

First of all, this is my favorite venue. The Southern Theatre has great acoustics. My favorite spot is the front row, dead center, in the balcony. Seth and Jessica were amazing!!! The album consists of Elliot Smith covers. They both did these songs, they played each other's songs, and songs of the artists that influenced themselves and Elliot Smith. Some of the covers included the best version of Bob Dylan's "Just Like A Woman" I have ever heard, and Hank Williams Sr's "Settin' the Woods On Fire". Jessica sang that and wow... She did not disappoint! Seth is in my favorite band, the Avett Brothers, and I I love watching him live. I had never seen Jessica live, but I will again! She is a jewel on the stage. Very talented! Thank you to the artists, the Southern Theatre, and their staff. Very professional, very friendly, and always consistent. They treat you like royalty, and that is a rare thing these days.

Seth Avett, Jessica Lea Mayfield, accompanied by Paul Defiglia put on one hell of a show. The vocals, strings, keys, and overall performance were nothing short of entrancing. The show was so intimate, as if they were playing for only a few friends. The songs (both covers and originals) were simply wonderful and pleasing to all audiences.

Seth Avett and Jessica Mayfield did amazing covers of Elliot Smith, Bob Dylan, Niel Young, the Dillard's, and the Beatles as well as their original stuff. Seth had amazing vocals and I love hearing him play any instrument. Jessica Mayfield has a stunning voice. Great show!

Honestly the best concert I've ever been to. Great choice of songs played movingly by a couple of the most talented musicians alive today. When they started playing a Neil Young song I almost died. Venue is gorgeous as well. I'd like to think Elliott Smith would have been moved to know how much his work is still appreciated and inspires us today. Standing ovation all around.

Already a hugh Seth Avett fan, this introduced me to and made me a big fan of Jessica Lea Parker. They make a great duo, and with the addition of the talents of a great bass player, it was a great trio of musicians.

A very quiet, peaceful performance. Rotation of Eliot Smith songs peppered with some well chosen covers. Dylan's 'Just like a Woman' gave me chills. Short concise and to the point. About an hour and a half total, but the beautiful harmonies made it all worth while.

From Avett's admission to hand picking the venues to every detail of the set design, it's clear the plan was to provide the most intimate atmosphere to showcase the songs of Elliott Smith. As the first note was played, a hush fell over the audience. Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield were destined to sing together. Their voices compliment each other's perfectly. There's almost an ethereal quality to the harmonies they provide. It's evident the two are comfortable with each other and love singing together. It's rare to have the opportunity to see Avett in such an intimate setting. He really seems to thrive no matter the size of the stage. The stripped down set and soft light effects give him no where to hide. He seemed genuinely humbled to perform in front of us. The songs played were a mix of Smith covers, originals by both Mayfield and Avett, and a handful of covers from artists who influenced all three songwriters. Just like life, there were ups and downs, highs and lows. The duo clearly has a deep respect for Smith's work.

Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield sang Elliott Smith beautifully. Along with the numerous sensational Elliott Smith covers, the setlist also included solo material by Avett & Mayfield. A fabulous evening from start to finish.

I'm a longtime fan of Seth Avett, and as always, he did not disappoint. What was so incredible was how well he and Jessica performed together, as if they'd been doing so for years! I'd never heard of her before, but I'm hooked!
