Veld Music Festival

Honestly this was the greatest festival I've ever been to. The fans have so much freedom it's unbelievable. Just don't be super obvious about anything and you're free to push your limits. Only reason they didn't get the 5th star was because they had future close the first night instead of Zedd or someone. That kind of took away from the first night but other than that it was a game changer. If you're debating going, pull the trigger. You won't regret it.

Getting to Veld and leaving was easy from my location. 1 pt there. the transit system did a wicked job. Entry. show id and get a wristband, that proves you are +19. Good. Try to buy beer later and they want to see your id again. That held up lines and having to dig out my id from my backpack every time was a pain. 0 pt. Entry on stuff allowed. No sunscreen at all. Wow. its the middle of summer.. Even though it said cream based sunscreen was okay. -1 pt. Venue inside. great lineup, dj's were unreal, good job getting those artists +3 pt Sound quality. -1pt. Subwoofer was too loud, seemed like all they cared about was the bang but it overpowered lyrics and medley of songs. Not sure if that was the dj's or festival orgainzers but that was a flaw. Food and Prices - Food was reasonable price, liquor and beer was not. Lineups were very long at points that required an hour to get something to eat. choice and option were a plus but still nuts. -1 pt other entertainment - ferris wheel and ring of fire were fun and so were the other games kicking around. +1pt

Veld was one big insane Toronto party! The line up was amazing and the energy was unreal. I was genuinely left speechless by the entire experience. Definitely worth it and returning for summer 2017! Workers and festival-goers were all very kind. Unfortunately, Travis Scott was a no-show :(. However, if you feel being knocked around by large crowds, waiting 30-50 minutes for food/drinks, and portapotties (which were an absolute horror story) won't outway the pros, this might not be for you. ALSO! You can bring almost nothing but money into the venue with you. No food or drinks and everything has to be factory sealed (sunscreen, chapstick, cigarettes).

Terrible event, I along with 80,000 other people were very disappointed, they search you from head to toe like prisoners and cancel the event the second a spec of rain drops.

The first day of artists was great, the 2 hour wait and cut off of one of the DJs was a bit excessive but unfortunately necessary. The second day was packed with world class DJs which I think all festival goers were looking forward to. The weather cancellation was of course necessary but there should be some compensation. There was a total of 8-10 hours of music that was not played because of the weather, which again is no ones fault, but a huge let down to everyone there. Announcing that one of the headliners was going to the after party when it was already sold out was also extremely annoying.

The event got cancelled. The largest performers did not even play.

I want my refund. 1st time at veld, deeply disappointed as they could have handled things slightly differently to please everyone. Plus the weather was decent after the storm, sure it would have been a mud pit but I doubt everyone would have cared as much as getting kicked out. What I seen was decent I can't lie so I'm pleased with what I seen its just a lot less than I paid for

Horrible!!! I waited 3 hours on Saturday to get in and I didn't even make on Sunday I want my money back !!! It's supposed to be rain or shine!!! ....

Paid 250 for my veld ticket... Day 1 was incredible, but day 2 was cancelled (rain or shine my butt) so why can't we be refunded for day 2?? Waste of money

The weather wreaked havoc on the weekend. While the organizers can't be faulted for the weather, they could have communicated much better. Two hours cancelled on, and basically the whole day cancelled on Sunday by the time anyone could get in. The cancellations were abrupt with no notice and still (two days later) no communication re refund. The abrupt cancellation on Sunday caused chaos with people being herded across busy streets.

I was very angry on day one when my friends and I got to downsview at 430 and had to wait in line for an hour & a half to let us in. I ran out of water and almost passed out. We finally got in and had a pretty good time. Then day 2 we got there at 330 and got let in at 4 to be kicked out at 5. I understand there was very high winds but that's a lot of money wasted this weekend.

Was upset that more than half the DJs were cancelled and were unable to perform. Some were cut short. Long wait times on the first day and second day was cancelled short.

Beware - You may not get your money's worth. Day 1 of Veld was fun. I got VIP (paid approx $300). They had two stages, one main stage and one smaller one. The smaller stage was still quite small for the larger acts playing there. The tent sent up prohibited you from seeing anything on stage if you were not standing within the tent (which wasn't much space). Deadmau5 on day 1 was awesome. The show put me in a trance. People working there were nice and willing to help/answer any questions to the best of their knowledge. Drinks were obviously quite pricey, but it is a music festival, so that was expected. They took cash.. and I think you could pay with a card as well, but you had to go to a separate area to buy "beverage tickets" if you wanted to use a credit card and give the bartenders your purchased tickets. I was a little disappointed as to what you got for being VIP. You get your own little sectioned off area to dance freely without accidentally bumping into anyone, actual restrooms with toilets that flush and sink/mirror/running water. Entering the park on day 1 was smooth, not much of a wait (took less than 5 mins - arrived at 3ish). However, the VIP line on day 2 was equally as long and timely as the GA lines (arrived around 4ish). Not sure why that was, poor planning maybe? Or maybe there was just a larger crowd on day 2..? Even though that I know that they didn't sell one day tickets. You get to access the raised platform for better viewing purposes overlooking the crowd. However, it is in the back, so you will be far away from the stage. Toronto supposedly had a "thunderstorm warning" on day 1 & 2. On day 1, 1.5 hours of acts were cancelled (no music playing at all) due to the warning. Almost fell asleep laying on the grass. You could grab some drinks and eat during that time, but that was about it. It rained just a little bit, could barely feel it. Day 2, once I arrived around 4pm, waited in the long line to enter, immediately after, they announced that Veld was cancelled due to the warning. We actually had to leave the premise because everything would be closed down, and Veld was short lived for that time being. So for me, it was just a 1 day experience. It was quite chaotic when people found out that Veld was cancelled (you could imagine). I know the weather wasn't under their control, but still sucks that it happened. I am hoping they offer some sort of reimbursement since it was cut very short. The bus rides back to my place were chaotic for both days. People pushing and shoving trying to catch the busses. They need to create some sort of line system for public transit people. Wouldn't recommend taking the bus. Took forever to get out. They had medical stations (had sunscreen/tampons for the ladies), water filling stations where it had cold water for the most part. I would recommend downloading the Veld app - they were kept up to date for the most part. They would send out important alerts through the app. So that was nice.They could probably advertise better on the app by mentioning what the VIP gets for being VIP, any fun games that had going on, the list of food vendors, etc. Overall, it was an okay experience. Didn't blow my mind, but it wasn't necessarily bad either. If the 2nd day hadn't gotten cancelled, I would've felt like I almost (keyword: almost) got my money's worth. I hope they reimburse us somehow - or else I'm sure they'll lose a large customer base. I drove from Pennsylvania - so I probably won't go again unless they figure out the logistics of it more and if they were to REIMBURSE me somehow. Not worth it.

Literally saw less than 6 sets of music and the entire second day got canceled. I will be expecting some form of compensation for this. Worst festival I have ever attended

Although I thought the layout and stage set up for Veld looked incredible, the event was cut short on both days. For two hours on the first day there was no music being played and the second day was cancelled before most of the big names got to play (Hardwell, DVBBS, Hot Since 82, Laidback Luke etc). Granted the event was nearly cut in half I feel as if a partial refund is in order.

Absolute catastrophe and improper way to handle the situation at hand is the easiest way to put it. Saw maybe at most 6 hours of music out of a 24 hour show, weather evacs both days and was forced to rave in a warehouse...... i never paid for this??? The only artists i even had any interest in seeing was DVBBS, Hardwell and A&B, and none even played a minute. To top it all off, Deadmau5 was awful, same thing as always, no suprises, not worth my money. Unless i see drastic action taken by INC to improve everyones awful exprience, i cant see Veld lasting much longer...

There were many signs the festival was hastily setup. Festivals like Veld should plan ahead for occurrences of rain. At the very least, music should be provided. Closing down the event without any sign of rain on Day 1 plus completing shutting down the event on Sunday without a backup plan is unforgivable. Plus, the fact that veld has not made a statement in 24 hours since the event is another sign the festival needed better planning. I arrived well before the event started and can testify the event did not start at 11 AM like they claimed.

Got cancelled when the rain only lasted for an hour

waited in line for 3 hours in the hot sun on Saturday while there was a lightning watch. Saw 2 djs. Came sunday and got kicked out 5 mins after arriving. Ink Entertainment makes bad judgement calls. Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rain or shine event huh? Saturday was perfectly fine and still was cancelled two hours.. Sunday rained heavily for what, 2 hours as well? The rest of the night was perfect after that. Sunday was the day i was looking forwRd to most. I want my money back.

I loved the venue and the set list, however I will be very upset if I don't get refunded for day 2 weather evacuation. I understand the weather is unpredictable but I didn't even get a half days performances due to the weather evacuation. Also, on day 1 I felt that they didn't need to stop playing music for two hours due to weather watch, the storm never even came that close.

Worst event ever! Save your money and go to any other festival. INK entertainment is awful.

for two hours on saturday we had to sit while it was sunny out because there was suppose to be a thunderstorm, than on sunday i waited three hours in line than once i got in there was a weather evacuation which is understandable... BUT i would like at least 40-50% of the ticket back. It is not their fault about the weather but this is only fair because we were suppose to see sooo many artists and only saw half. Either give me a refund or i will never ever come back.

None of us could get our money back for drink tickets when they shut down the event. Not only this but because of the huge weather delay the first day we missed a ton of the sets for day 1 as well. I will not be going back to any ink events next year. The weather is not their fault, but taking the money and running and not offering partial refunds like they just did for digital dreams is ridiculous.

Veld was set up great this year, the tent got the upgrade it needed... Lines took forever waited 3 hours to get in on day 1 and missed all of day two.. A refunded is needed as they cancelled 2 hours of day 1 and pretty well all of day 2 overall if it wasn't for weather veld would have killed it this year

To start, Day 1 had ~2 hour delay due to "weather" which ended up being passing dark clouds, NO RAIN. Leaving festival attendees in line for 2+ hours waiting to get wristbands they weren't giving out and another hour to enter the festival. The lines were chaos, and no exit gate after you received your wristband. Basically push and shove amongst angry people. Acts up til 6:30 were cancelled. Day 2 festival grounds were evacuated at 4:30 for a storm and then cancelled. Understandable, but it stopped storming by 7:30 and they could've had the headliners still perform. So much for the tickets saying "Event goes Rain or Shine" I feel it is reasonable to give customers a partial refund since half of the festival was cancelled and delayed. Overall, could have been an awesome festival, from the time I was there the sound and stage lights were great. But it definitely wasn't worth traveling from USA for.

First day was alright except the 2 or 3 hour rain delay and 2nd day was just a right off and I think we should be getting some kind of refund back since we missed out on 5 hours of what we paid for..

I was so upset I paid so much money to miss all of my favourite acts. Bullshit

The weather for any outdoor event is unforeseen. That's understandable. But holding thousands and thousands of people squished together outside of the gates in the blazing hot sun for 3 straight hours because there might be some lightning? That's ridiculous. Guests were dropping like flies from heat exhaustion or drug/alcohol abuse. Situations like these should be thought out and properly taken care of. As for the second day being canceled, i'm sure that INC entertainment will do the right thing and refund the appropriate amount (50% TOTAL = 10% of the day being canceled DAY 1 + 40% of the day being canceled DAY 2 ) to their guests. It was a shame that such an amazing event was handled so poorly due to some **possible** bad weather.

First there was a lightning delay for like 3 hours on day one. The sky was partly cloudy and I think I actually got sun burnt during the delay. They ran out of half of the beverage options on day one. The staff was completely rude. Taking selfies on the phones and videos of the crowds while working. Day two was cancelled to a 15 minute severe storm and evacuated. VELD WAS CANCELED OR DELAYED MORE THAN IT WAS OPEN In my opinion at least a partial refund is in order.

Veld was put on "weather standby" for 2 hours on the first day so the whole festival shut down (despite the fact that it was hot and sunny the entire time). The second day, it was canceled at 5 pm because of the thunderstorm. So we lost 8 hours of the festival with no refund. Would definitely not recommend this to anyone. Most of the girls were wearing a torn up cloth that barely covered anything. Drinks are ridiculously expensive. There are only 2 stages. Horribly organized overall.

Veld was cancelled the second day because of weather evacuation and the first day they stopped the music for over 2 hours because of a few clouds, I would rather go to an indoor rave like Solaris where I actually get to see all of the dj's perform I missed Hardwell, DVBBS, and carnage this year and I was not impressed

Been to all 4 so far, never going again, want at least half my money back for this last disaster of a festival

The lineup was amazing and the price was not too bad for all the DJs going BUT the second day was canceled due to weather and the event is supposed to be rain or shine. They haven't said anything about refunding us our money and it's complete crap. On the first day they stopped in the middle of someones set for 2 HOURS because of possible rain (in a rain or shine event) and nothing happened, no rain or anything. Will not be going to this event again.

Soo it's hard to give much of a review. Veld when it was happening? Best thing ever. Most fun I've ever had, and some really amazing people. There was a two hour wait in the middle of the day due to "lightning warnings" where there was no lightning, not even rain. That was bull. Second day? Just got in and it was cancelled. I realize you can't control the weather but if it was known the weather would be so bad.... Postpone for a week?? Extremely disappointed in the second day.

Can't believe how badly organized this event was. After digital screwing up ink entertainment should have really stepped up their game. Dissapointment after disappointment. Will never attend both festivals ever again. Big loss of time and money. We deserve a refund !!!!!

I came with 2 friends from Syracuse, NY to this festival in Toronto, Canada and none of us were disappointed in the slightest. I've never been to a music festival, none of us had been to Canada before, and all of us loved every second of this journey! Great atmosphere, beautiful people, and eargasmic music made this a festival we won't forget soon!

Totally going back next year best experience of my summer!!

Veld this year was fantastic. The lineup and performers were fire, and it was clear skies the whole time.

Amazing artists, fantastic music, and an unforgettable atmosphere. This was my first ever music festival and it was incredible! Can't wait till the line up for next year!

Amazing festival. Only things that could be improved is location, access to water stations and more bathrooms. thats it!

The music festival was extremely well organized and all the of the staff were polite and helpful. All of the sets were amazing and I definitely want to come back next year.

I was very skeptical about attending Veld this year being that last year got cancelled by the hurricane and ruined the whole second day of the festival. I went to Digital Dreams this year and felt that maybe that would be the only one but I saw the lineup for Veld and decided to give it another shot. SO glad I did because it was amazing this year, lineup was awesome, I love Downsview Park as a venue for a festival and I love the energy and politeness of Canadians. My whole group of friends had an unforgettable experience, can't wait for next year!

Honestly I can't even describe it, so amazing. So many performers out on amazing shows, the energy was insane and everyone was making friends everywhere! Absolutely non stop fun

Best Concert I have ever been too. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

If you prefer not being neck to neck with a few thousand folks having fun, and you like to imagine more space, easier bathrooms, and easier lines for drinks - VIP is a MUST. You'll have a great (but crowded) deck with a killer view of the main stage, a separate entrance to the whole park, a private area of grass to lay out, an area for bottle service (but why?), and PLENTY of drink lines. PLENTY. Your fellow VIP mates will be cool and a bit more relaxed, and security will be a lot nicer. For the price bump, it's kind of a can't miss. Except..... The food lines. OH the HORROR! Two or three food vendors in VIP, but TWENTY bartenders for THREE bars. You can get your expensive drink in 90 seconds, but it will take you 25 minutes for food. If they fix the food, then it's 5* all the way!

Massive crowds, incredible artists, amazing people, this was easily one of the best weekends of my life. Absolutely going again next year (Make it a 3 day!!!! Couldn't get enough)

Best weekend ever. Best festival in canada. So much fun

Loved the show, lots of energy and the volume level was perfect, crowd was ecctatic! Only thing that I could say that I didn't enjoy was the will call was terrible, took me two hours to get my wristband. Water and shade were very difficult to come by. Overall though I had a great time!

The venue was too small for the massive amount of people who came, the security at the gate practically molested apon entering. Not only were tickets expensive for a mediocre lineup but they charged you $20 a day to park

There were waaay too many people so it was overwhelming and uncomfortable but the DJ's were unreal, the food was a little pricey but it's like that at most festivals, overall I probably wouldn't go again unless my fave DJs were there.

The music at veld was great. The people and vibes not so much. Lots of 14-17 year olds, way too many bros.

Most of the acts did not even go on. Given the weather was the contributing factor, but they have not responded to their fans/ticket purchasers on what they plan on doing!!! Very disappointed. Spent a lot of money to get there and a lot of money to be there

refund please.... Don't need to say anything else about this event.. Regardless of it starting at 11am and shutdown at 5pm.. 90% of people didn't pay hundreds of dollars to see manzone and strong..... Or Oliver heldins.... Do the right thing if you want these festivals to last.

4th year. Loved it until saturday 2015 where weather was not even bad in the slightest. Day 2 though I understand.

Concert was held off two hours the first day and the entire half of the second day... No compensation. Not to mention yet again VIP was horrible .. Had to wait in line to get to the VIP stage. In addition the bar with no cover they used to compensate was in Barrie? Nice slap in the face. Overall digital dreams even boots and hearts would be better and I hate country. Thanks Veld for the overpriced awful weekend.

Set up some of the biggest names in all of EDM and it got canceled, still upset. Should have let it go on it only rained for 30 minutes

We had a lot of our hours taken away from us, and because i am under 19, i was unable to join the after party, which would have cost more money anyway, and i hope for some compensation for missing so much of the event. The first day was a lot of fun, but i was looking forward to the second day more for more of the performers.

over half of the advertised artists did not perform due to "weather conditions", which is a very valid reason, but the same thing happened earlier this year at digital dreams. Veld should have been more prepared for a situation like this. The first day they stopped music completely for 3 hours after saying a half hour. Then day two stopped completely(should of been more prepared).

1. They didn't mention it was a cash only event on their websites. 2. They basically made it impossible to get refunds on beer tickets since we were told to go find the person that sold us the tickets. 3. They stopped the drinking water when they paused the event "due to the weather" 4.At least 7 hours of the event was canceled. 5. They didn't compensate us for cancelling at least 7 hours of the event.

Cancellation of the Second day of performers and no clear information given on refunds. Never going to veld again.

Line up had potential. They stopped the music for three hours on Saturday because of lightening "in the area" and then canceled the whole event on Sunday because of a major storm. Waiting to find out if a refund will be given. Do the right thing and refund people's money. We paid to see these people and didn't even get to see them.
