but seeing almost all of my favorite bands in one day made saying goodbye to 695 a little easier! Wrecking Ball had an amazing lineup this year, a lot of comeback bands, and a lot of newbies in the punk rock scene. The stage set up is great, and the whole day stayed on schedule almost to a T. Give or take for technical difficulties. (Such as Joyce Manor blowing an amp and breaking a cymbal stand) I'll never forget this venue. I'm sure we can make the new one just as great :-)

I purchased VIP tickets to this event for no actual benefit except a few drink tickets, a t-shirt, a crappy poster, and a bunch of stickers. They had exactly 2 beer options, PBR and and IPA. Seriously? And then no seperate entryline for VIP as stated on the advertising and the website. No shade anywhere and if the inside venue was already at capacity..you were screwed and didn't get to see your band play. Did not matter if you were VIP. Not one staff member could tell you what was going on or who you could talk to about stuff. They were filling the water jugs and I assume the bottles with hoses...I saw it. My absolute favorite...they put the regular weekend passes on sale for 1/2 on Groupon. So I could have gotten everything I paid $200 for...for much less when you factor everything in. Worst run festival I have ever been to and I have worked security for concerts for years.

Overall Wrecking Ball was awesome. I had a great time. I've always liked the Masquerade. The only thing I wasn't impressed with is the waits to get inside. It caused me to miss some of the bands I wanted to see. Other than that everything was rad.

I loved the line up of amazing bands. Especially all the female led bands. Normally punk concerts are mainly male and sometime aggressive crowds but I felt safe and people were super respectful :) I was pleasantly surprised that the food trucks catered to vegans, vegetarians and gluten free folks.

The venue was pretty cool (too bad they're tearing it down), the food trucks were great, and I heard tons of great bands play, including two performances (and a signing!) by my favorite band, Piebald. My personal favorite performances (not including Piebald) were Big Jesus (who I also saw perform twice), Mothers, worlds greatest dad, Diarrhea Planet, American Football, and The Julie Ruin. Fox Wound and Looming weren't bad, either (and seeing Dinosaur Jr. and Thursday was pretty cool, too). The super long lines to get into any indoor show sucked a lot, but I was able to plan around the lines and see all of the performances I really wanted to see.

FREE and Touche Amore were the highlights of my weekend and possibly my year. Its too bad the masquerade will be torn down but man what a way for it to go out.

The Masquerade really knows how to put on a festival! Had a jam packed weekend seeing a ton of bands I love plus new ones. Despite the heat, every moment of this weekend was fun. A misting tent for next year would be dope.

Oh man, what a show, what a show! Every band was awesome and played their hearts out. I was ecstatic to see favorite bands that haven't played live in years like Thrice, Glassjaw and Cave-in. Phenomenal display of courtesy from the audience and staff as well. Everyone got into it and showed some love and came together in a complete old school punk revival. Sunday night's closer, Coheed and Cambria, played an incredible set and I'll never forget it. SAVE THE MASQUERADE!!

I think the lineup spoke for itself. It was insane! So many good bands, old and new, in one weekend. It's almost hard to believe they're going to make this a yearly event, because it will be difficult to top this year!

For a first-time festival, this thing was incredibly well organized. The bands all played on-time, the sound was perfect - inside and out of the venue, and the vendors were all great. Personally, I got to see a large number of my favorite bands, and thanks to the efforts of the wrecking ball crew, it was an experience I'll never forget. If there is another one next year, I will absolutely go - no question.

I thought the event itself was well put together. There were plenty of ATMs, food options and bathrooms. My only complaints would be kind of a week lineup. And the beer selection was terrible also. I don't mind paying festival prices for beer ; but you should have more than four choices. 2 being Budweiser and bud light. There was a good turn out for a cool venue. I'm definitely gonna miss the masquerade when it's gone. Not sure who's gonna pick up the slack. Descendents, judge and modern life is war were the highlights.

A great lineup of hardcore and metal. I have waited almost 30 years to see a Descendents show and it was fantastic. They played every song I could have wanted to hear and the crowd sang along like it was 1987. What an amazing two day fest. Thanks Masquarade for 25 years of Punk Rock in Atlanta.

The concept is great - lots of punk rock and alternative bands playing in different sections. The execution was mediocre. I waited until 3 pm to show up on Saturday since I figured I wouldn't have the energy to start at doors opening at 12 and go through till 11pm. I'm glad I waited. The first bands didn't start until 3 pm. There were also barely any chairs or places to sit. Cue foot, back, and neck problems. Also, it would have been nice to make the band's show schedule available online. It wasn't until after we arrived and had made our way upstairs after a couple hours before I found a tiny little flyer with the printed schedule. Also, only Saturday's schedule was printed. Sunday was still a mystery. The sound mixing was also sub par. Unless you had a special pass, there was no access to the Purgatory venue so the bands listed weren't available to everyone. As for the food options: three veggie options, the best of which sold out early in the afternoon. There was a ton of available space for another food truck and I know they could have done better. We didn't even bother going on Sunday. I wasn't ready to stand around for another 12 hours. Also, $300+ for two people to attend a mediocre event? I won't do that again.
