Wonderful bands both local and well known. Three stages. Band staggered perfectly so you could see most of them. Weather was overcast which ended up being a blessing. Enjoyed beer/wine garden and food stalls and boutiques. Weird thing to mention but the Portosans were some of the cleanest I have encountered. Thought it would be a zoo but it wasn't. A big crowd but never felt overcrowded. Would highly recommend this event

One of the highlights of my summer each year is attending the PMF. This year was no exception as the talent was awesome. My personal favorite was KT Tunstall who is not only talented but funny and personable. A shout out for newcomers for me, Annie Minoque and Amanda Ayala, (who sounded like a young Grace Slick). Also Aztec Two-Step showed they are still in the game. Great day and so thankful it never rained until the bitter end. The venue is incredibly organized and the volunteers were wonderful.

The Pleasantville Festival is a nice, small, local festival. One of the hooks this year was that Zack Feinberg, a founder and the lead guitarist of NOLA-based The Revivalists, was raised in Pleasantville. The Revs have played numerous festivals throughout the country, opened for such headliners as Gov't Mule, and were named by Rolling Stone as one of the 10 artists you need to know for 2016. Instead of capitalizing on this, the Pleasantville Festival had The Revs as the third headliner. Hell, they get second billing on one of the main stages at JazzFest! File that one under opportunity lost! As for the music... We caught KT Tunstall in the tent for a spirited but abbreviated acoustic solo set. She wanted to play more, but the organizers yanked her offstage after 30 minutes, She returned with her full band to play after The Revs set. Wild Adriatic is a driving trio we saw on the Capital Stage; def worth a listen. The Smithereens were nice background music who played some covers as well as their own catalogue. The Revs were, well, The Revs. A 55 minute set in which songs wove seamlessly one after the other. David Shaw remains one of the unique voices in music today. Bassist George Gekas was his grooving self and held the boys together with always solid Andrew Campanelli on the kit. Zack Feinberg played tasty licks throughout, although I think he should solo longer and more often.

Festival was alot of fun. I think that the alcohol should be allowed out of the Beer Garden, Can't see the stage from that area too well. Food choices were ok, I was looking for a straight forward burger. Parking for the festival at the University should have been marked upon entering the campus, we drove around for a bit

We had a great day despite the heat! The covered Chill Tent was a terrific new addition this year, and I saw the best performances there: Megan Talay and Marshall Crenshaw. Wished both of these musicians could play longer.

This was the 1st Pleasantville Festival I've attended & I was very impressed with how well the event was planned out. First let me say that the chill tent was a life-saver! I can't believe this was the first year you had it in place! I feel sorry for everyone from the first 10 years!! The location was spacious but not so big that walking around was a drag. There was free ice cold water everywhere - awesome. There were hand-washing stations everywhere with real soap & water - awesome. Recycling stations everywhere (with the free ice water) - awesome.! A few more vendors selling more items would have been cool, and I know I would have shopped Festival memorabilia if it were located with the other vendors - I never made it to where that stuff was located and I am sure I would have bought something.. Music was great, and heard stuff I hadn't before but really liked. I also got a greater appreciation for the Gin Blossoms. Up close and personal is the only way to go! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

I'll start with the negatives. After we got on the field at 11am, we set down our blankets and checked out the food, charity and other vendors. We realized that we hadn't seen Festival Shirts for sale. We went to a booth marked "INFO" but they could only point in a general direction of where to go. We finally found the T shirt booth, to the left of the stage, where many Festival goers would not see it. RECOMMENDATION FOR NEXT YEAR - put the Festival Shirt Booth with the other vendors on the field. BLUE PIG - where were they? They were listed as vendors but when we looked for them during the afternoon they were gone! WATER - last year there were obvious places that had water near the stage. We only realized that the water was part of the recycling tents when we walked around for dinner. RECOMMENDATION: Please have clearer info noted (on the website, program, etc.) of where the water is. The only other negative was that there were two stages (Capt. Lawrence & TD Bank) which played at the same time. Even though some of the Capt. Lawrence bands played double sets, there was no way to hear every band. POSITIVES 1 - awesome music and Gin Blossoms rocked! The T shirts, once we found them were terrific. We're used to the usual standard shirt available in different sizes. To be able to choose a style, color and ink color was terrific. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK NEXT YEAR. 2 - THE COOL TENT WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC - being able to sit under a tent on a hot sunny day was a welcome relief. PLEASE DO THIS AGAIN NEXT YEAR 3 - ARRIVAL - so nice to be able to get in one hour before the Festival started. Love t he Pace buses and being able to park at Pace. 4 - FOOD - fewer alternatives but excellent ones. Well priced and very tasty, especially the Indian place from Pleasantville and the Falafel place from Orange county. BRING THESE FOLKS BACK NEXT YEAR.
