Flatley and his troupe were amazing!! The Good v. Evil story line was very apparent throughout especially during the thunderous battle scenes. He taught the leads, James Keegan and Tom Cunningham, very well. The Irish step dancing was beautiful and very graceful! Very enjoyable and well worth the trip into the City!!!

Overall it was a great show. I didn't like the modern Darth Vaderish theme. And I know others said the same thing. I think the dancing & Irish music speaks for itself. I would prefer more true to the Celtic Roots. That being said the dancing was astonishing! The lead dancers and all the support dancers were fabulous!

Having attended the original Lord of the Dance Many yrs ago at Radio City on St Patrick's Day I was excited to see Michael Flatley perform Again and the show has been advertised As his final tour It's deceptive since not only my wife And I but others in the audience were disappointed To see a video of a 3 dimensional Michael Flatley Dancing and even when we left the theatre The Billboard outside suggests that he is performing Aside from that the show was spectacular and the Gentleman who performed Lord of the Dance Did a tremendous job

I'd seen Mr. Flately perform magnificently as "Lord of the Dance" close to 20 yrs ago when he was in his prime. I knew he'd only do a short performance at the end of the show, as he's retiring. His productions have always been top-notch, mixing music, choreography and precision dance moves to weave a story. This show appears to be snippets of things his troupe's done before. But for some unknown reason, they've added futuristic cyborg characters (on stage and as holograms). There's a heavy emphasis on holograms throughout, absolutely no artistic sets.......there are bright colored butterflies and unicorns and all manner of things that look like children's cartoons. It makes no sense and doesn't fit at all with the show. Strangest thing I've ever seen.

Ok guys, This is a chick's show. There is a story line....pay attention at the beginning and they will tell you a little. Some of this is repetitious and seems more like a tap show than Irish step dance. There is a 20 minute intermission. Michael Flatley comes out at the end. He really is not in the show. Its a shame because the show livens up with full line Irish step dancing for the last 10-15 minutes. That is what I was expecting to see and wanted more of. The unison of the line was amazing. Your wife-Girlfriend will love this. Take the points.

Lord of the Dance - Dangerous Games was amazing and exciting. I always wanted to see Michael Flatley in action. The beginning of my New Years of 2016 was a great start and a gift from my wonderful husband. Each session kept you on your toes and their colorful costumes were eye catching. I recommend everyone who is interested in Irish dancing to go and see his tour. For me it was a blessing and I was actually able to meet Michael Flatley and take a selfie with him :). Plus all the cast members were friendly.

A wonderful show-event that takes its audience into a fascinating story that has its roots in the good message that is important for everyone. You will be taken by the fascination of Irish dance, with fiery, breathtaking speed and virtuosic skill, with elfin lightness and elegance. The music is rousing, the fiddlers virtuosic and the singer fascinates with her full and warm voice. The stage-design too is made masterly and the additional holograms amaze and fascinate. The dancers are an amazing troupe and the performance of the master of Irish Dance himself, Michael Flatley was my absolute highlight thank you very much. A show, I already have seen several times and it is a pleasure every time again very worthwhile. Eva (from Germany)

I really enjoyed the show and the dancers that preformed were excellent. My friend and I went to an afternoon performance and were very disappointed to find out that Michael himself only preforms at evening performances. Part of the reason we went to see the show was to see Michael Flatley preform during his farewell tour. All the advertising I had seen pointed to him being more a part of the show than a prerecorded video. And if you can perform during the evening then why not in the afternoon as well. I do recommend the show but if you looking to actually see Michael preform make sure you do your research before purchasing tickets as he seems to pick and choose which shows he will be a part of.

The show was very good. But it was the feeling of myself and talking to others at the show. That Michael Flatley would make more appearances during the show. There was what looked at the beginning and end of the show a video of him performing. It didn't look live. Disappointing that way

The way this was advertised and the basis for my purchase of 3 orchestra seats I feel was misleading! Even the material sold at the event lead me and my family to believe Michael Flatley would at least make an appearance. We chose a matinee and though the dancers were phenomenal , especially the men, the overall creative direction was not up to Flatley's usual outstanding presentation!! Not a particularly great send off or tribute to his Dad. Felt he could have done much better especially since it was dedicated to his Dad, perhaps his own life story in dance would have been more appropriate. Those of us in the audience kept hoping in vain that Michael Flatley would at least make a few minutes of the performance toward the end. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN and people were calling out his name and a few BOOS as well (that was terrible for the performers....they deserved better!!) I have seen clips of this performance before and it just wasn't the same at all....the mixing of the male and female just fell flat...too much ballet and not enough Irish Dance for the women. A few puffs of fire and loud bangs did not make up for the strange mixture put together as Dangerous Games!! We have seen Michael perform in person in the late 90s in Hartford, CT and realize that was a number of years ago and only expected to see him fly across the stage in person for a minute or two...didn't happen and I wouldn't recommend spending almost $200 a ticket for this particular presentation which is touring a number of cities and is going to Mohegan Sun. Loved the venue of Lyric Theater very much ...feel a smaller venue can be much more personal and involve the audience better but didn't help much.! We wish Michael Flatley a Happy New Year and all the best that retirement can bring him with his family. You gave us so much over the years and we are appreciative of that especially with Irish heritage!!!

We bought tickets with the knowledge the Flatley would be dancing, what we did not expect was the he was on stage for a total of 5 minutes and a video. very disappointed. On the other hand the rest of the cast and show was good, though sometimes confusing with the robot costumes, etc. The dancing was excellent, especially the group dances. Overall I would recommend it, tickets were to pricey as evidenced by a half empty theater.

My husband and I attended the New Year's Day evening performance. The dancing and staging were wonderful, and the use of audio-visual effects made the event even more compelling. We made sure to get tickets for a show where Michael Flatley was making an appearance. Even though his time on stage was relatively brief, we were honored to see the master at work! His talent and genius is undeniable, and it will be sad to see him retire from active performance. The cast was extremely talented, and conveyed a clear story line through music and dance. We are so glad we went! We sat in Row J on the aisle (orchestra), and our view of all the action was great!

After reading the bad reviews I was very hesitant to get the tickets. I am glad I did! The show was amazing considering it is a broadway production. Yes, it is nothing compared to his old show but you can't compare huge arenas to a small broadway theatre. Yes, there was unicorn and butterflies on the screen and bright colors (sort of Avatarish) but most of the people were there to see dancers not a "movie". I have to say that I didn't mind the videos behind - they added nice backround, colors matched the dancers outfits most of the time. And yes, Flatley showed up for the last 10 minutes and didn't dance much but it was one of the highlights of the show anyway. So, if you are not super demanding and enjoy great dancing and great show then go. You will not regret :)

I brought my Mom and my mother-in-law to the show and we had unbelievable seats. The show was great, lively, fun and energetic. My only complaint was I walked away a bit disappointed as I thought Michael Flatley was going to be there live to dance a little. I missed him years ago in River Dance and was so excited that I would finally get to see him and then he was just in 2 video clips. That was a huge let down for me. I still loved the show and thought it was fantastic but I wish all the advertisements didn't make it seem like Michael Flatley would actually be part of the live show.

I had seen Riverdance and thought it would be similar. Well it wasn't!!! Tried to put a modern twist on show. I'm still not sure what the storyline was about someone in a gold bodysuit playing a flute, Warriors, and robots. Wymsical Barbies trying to ballet dance. Since when do you have traditional Irish step dancing and then all of sudden their dresses get pulled off and now they are dancing in their undergarments and stocking. Michael Flatery only performed a small skit at the last 10 minutes of show. I am very disappointed and wasted my money.

I bought tickets for a day when Flatley was supposed to appear in the show. He didn't. The sound of the dancers' feet on the floor seemed to have been pre-recorded along with the music. The cheap projections looked like screen savers--corny pictures of unicorns and butterflies. That combined with the girls in long blonde wigs and the men dressed as soldiers made me think I was in a toy store shopping for 3-year-olds. The guy who replaced Flatley was superb, but I have no idea who he was--no program credit, no announcement.

The dancing is like nothing you have ever seen (or heard) !!...Unless you've been to Riverdance...The show is all new and some of the costumes have a more modern look. It is absolutely amazing . I must admit, we went to a matinee knowing full well Flatleys understudy would perform and he did a fantastic job, but he is not Michael. I truly enjoyed the show when it played towards what it actually is. A wonderful group of tap dancers. Too many episodes either lacked dancing altogether with blase singing, odd graphics from 12 year old children's bedrooms, or uninspired instrumentals. I had to contain my laughter when I began to wonder if I was in the wrong show once the clothes started to come off.

Overall the skill of the dancers was amazing. However, I was disappointed by how over-the-top and sensationalized the show was. If you just focus on the performers' feet, it is an excellent show. But all the robot costumes, fire machines, and randomness was just distracting. I thought they could have made the show more riveting with a more interesting storyline and did a better job of showcasing the performers skill.

When I bought the tickets on the website, it didn't say he wasn't dancing at matinees...only gave four dates he wouldn't be dancing. If I knew that, I would have gone to the evening performance. Disappointed in the website for not mentioning that.

We saw Flatley's troup in Boston many years ago. They were terrific then and amazing now. There was so much energy in the room. I felt like I was coming out of my seat. When Flatley came out at the end and did the finale he was awesome. I'm in love with the short blonde Violinist. Not only was she beautiful, she played so well. The show is a must see.

Bought my tickets as soon as they became available. Was thrilled to think I would be seeing Michael again, as I saw him in Feet of Flames, and loved it! Little did I know till after the fact, that Michael was not doing matinees!!!! I found out by reading an editorial in the Daily news. I was mad that it was not mentioned at the time I purchased them. Eventually I saw it mentioned as time went on, probably due to the word getting out. It was obvious by the empty seats in the theatre (more than half empty) people were not going to see the show without him. Although the dancers were phenomenal, all this show was was an updated version of feet of flames, minus the live drums, and sets that were present last time. If you had not seen feet of flames, this made no sense. I'm glad I didn't take my 87 year old mother with me, she really wanted to see the dancing, but this was not what she would have wanted to see. As this was a limited engagement, Michael should have at least made an appearance and dance once at each show to appease his fans. People around us did not know he wasn't appearing until they heard my cousin and myself talking about it. Michael let his fans down.

The show was excellently written and choreographed thanks to Michael Flatley. It actually had a story, which I wasn't expecting. I was glued to my seat with the powerful music and dancing. Don't expect to see Flatley because he is not in it, even for a second, except at the end when you see a video of him. And, who cared.... THE SHOW DOESN'T NEED FLATLEY AT ALL! I'd love to see it again!

If you have ever seen river dance, or prior Flately shows, do not expect to see anything nearly as good. with the exception of the lead male dancer, it was really terrible...music and choreography was second rate. I am astonished the are 4 star ratings for this show! I ken before the show started I was in trouble...45% of the theater was empty!!!!!! They were smart not going I was stupid!

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL, CHEAP AND TACKY WITH POOR QUALITY MUSIC AND SONGS AND ROBOTS DOING IRISH DANCING ? I WAS EMBARRASSED TO BE IRISH ESPECIALLY WHEN THE WOMEN DANCERS STRIPPED TO THERE UNDERWEAR AND STARTED DANCING. I COULD GO ON AND ON, IT WAS JUST TERRIBLE, NOTHING COMPARED TO RIVERDANCE AND THE STAGE IS TO SMALL FOR IRISH DANCING. JUST AWFUL.

This was a great show....the performers nail everything, and they make it look so easy. A top notch cast of champion level dancers makes everything possible. The featured singer is excellent as well. Then it's Michael's time. Flatley is, in my opinion, the greatest dancer of all time. He is one of a kind, as is his talent level. A true legend. I hope that he at least keeps producing shows forever.

Before I start this review, I will stress that I saw Riverdance about 10 years ago and that was SO much better than this. The parts of the show where the groups were actually doing their Irish dancing were excellent, but there were way too many minutes of singing (for no apparent reason), ballet and cheerleaders. We attended this event because it was Flatley's last tour before retirement and he didn't even show up until the last 10 minutes of the show. Additionally, the entire production was video based (the backdrop) and somewhat cheesy. Overall, I would recommend renting a video of Riverdance rather than spending time and money on this production.

recommend sitting further back since seats closer to the stage are closer to the dancers feet and further away from the speakers. As a result the dancing and sound are out of sync. This is compounded by the sound being enhanced.

the art of Falteys dance is incredible. unlike previous performances - they had class. Why shirts must be removed from the performers and the women strip the their undergarments on stage puzzles the audience. Flatley 5 minute appearance on video was more entertaining. Provocative and off message of fantastic choreography. Its more Vegas than Broadway. Our only comment - WHY?

I was disappointed that Michael Flately was not really in the show, guess I missed that part, when I ordered my ticket. His cast is amazing and so talented. Because the house was not sold out I was able to sit closer and really enjoy the energy of those talented dancers..... So glad I got to see this show....

THE BIGGEST REASON WE ATTENDED LORD OF THE DANCE WAS TO CELEBRATE AND ENJOY MICHAEL FLATLEY'S FINAL SCHEDULED SHOW. WE HAD ENJOYED EVERY OTHER SHOW WHICH HE HAD PERFORMED IN. TO MY WIFE AND MY DISAPPOINTMENT MICHAEL FLATLEY DID NOT APPEAR LIVE IN ANY PORTION OF THIS PARTICULAR SHOW. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY OR ANY INDICATION OF SUCH. IT WAS LIKE ATTENDING A BILLY JOEL CONCERT WITHOUT BILLY JOEL. KNOWING THIS WAS THE WAY THE SHOW WAS TO BE PRESENTED I WOULD OF TRIED TO CANCEL OR GIVEN MY TICKETS AWAY AT THE DOOR.

Lord of the Dance is superb entertainment. Who are these people and how can they do such incredible moves? I cannot say that I understood the story line, maybe it was too much rooted in Celtic myths for me, but who cares! It is the dancing that one comes to see and it does not disappoint in any way. Michael Flately comes on for the last 15 minutes and continues to wow the audience with his own feet moving with his usual grace. The choreography continues the color and excitement of Riverdance. Having seen that show some years ago, but only on television, I was delighted to finally have a chance to see this live performance. Had a grand time! Who wouldn't?

Michael Flatley has taken his creation and passed it along to the next generation of wonderful energetic dancers. Unbelievably fun and creative. It was also our first time in the Lyric Theatre which is a great venue without a bad seat in the house :)

Loved, loved, loved this show! It's the perfect combination of high energy dance numbers and talented musicians. This show is chock full of beautiful female dancers who have perfected their craft. They kick and jump higher than I am tall! And the guys, well their shot straight lines, and banging trebles will keep you clapping and whooping throughout. Don't miss it!
