The show was pretty cute. There were technical difficulties w/ one performers mics. What happened to sound checks to make sure all that stuff is up and running. A recurring comment I heard from the younger kids is that the characters didn't at all look like the real ppl. The souvineers were from a Disney on Ice production, kinda disappointing. Looking beyond all that, the performers did do a good job and the price was decent.

The outdoor stage was very small, so it was a good thing that we had seats close to the front. My husband and I took my two granddaughters, ages 10 and 4. It rained off and on during the show, but the show went on--everyone's umbrellas went up making it impossible to see the stage. I paid $128, plus $10 to park, for a show that was NOT comparable to a high school show that I had seen earlier of HSM at Blake High School in Montgomery County, MD. The high school actors were at least as good as these "professional" actors and actresses. The other complaint I had was that the ushers and crew that were supposed to keep things in control allowed ALL people--children and adults to STAND at the front of the stage so that those of us in our chairs were unable to see. That part was a nightmare. The ushers wiped off the front of the stage for the actors, but no effort was made to wipe off the rain from the chairs in which we were sitting. (I personally sat in about an inch of rain in the chair.) At first, a few children went to stand at the front, but towards the end of the show, or during the last three musical numbers, all the adults went forward to find their child in the crowd at the front, and no one could see through them, and there was no effort to make them move. The whole thing was not a good experience. People should be made to stay in their seats.

I was shocked to see that regular fold-up seats were set out on the black top and that it was not covered by tents. This is not what I expected! The show itself was great but I feel that more information should have been provided that this would not be stadium seating and that it would not be covered. The outdoor seating didn't bother me as much but w/ small children when you have giant, ok super tall people sitting 2 rows in front of us, Well my kids complained that they were unable to see! Finally, they allowed the children to stand right in front of the stage. Thank you to those parents that complained!! This slightly compensated for the poor seating arrangement. Also, I felt the stage was on the small side and they didn't change the scene back drop only until the very end w/ their last performance. Bottom line I do recommend it but be aware that seating is poor and be forewarned that it is outdoor w/out any coverage! Momma Corv Clarksburg, MD

I paid $106 for two tickets for the HSM summer celebration. I thought that the dancing was excellent but that was the only thing that was great. The cast did not actually sing the songs, they mouthed along with the CD to HSM. I thought that Troy and Sharpay were terrible, they didn't look anything like the actual characters. I also was upset that the consession and shop selling the HSM apparel only took cash, no charge cards!

Attended High School Musical on Stage at the Brookhaven Amphitheatre. Production was OK, Troy and Gabriella were good, rest of cast was OK. (Sharpay and Ryan were the worst - looked like Vegas impersonators) This event is good for young children ages four and up. Brookhaven Amphitheatre was pretty much the worst theater I have seen. Stairs were uneven and dangerous. Tall grass on the sides of seating area were filled with mosquitos. Workers were young kids who couldn't have cared less. They didn't even show you to your seat. Just pointed and said "over there." Concession stand was horrible. I will not attend another event at Brookhaven Amphitheatre.

I was thrilled to be able to take the little ones to go see High School Musical. The event was great, the kids really enjoyed it. The venue though, thats another story. It was very difficult to see the stage. Parents in rows ahead of us were allowing their kids to stand up or sit/stand on their lap, causing everyone behind them to not be able to see. I would recommend the venue do something better with the seating arrangement.

My daughter enjoyed herself to the utmost!! She loved being able to dance up front while watching the show. The characters did a great job dancing and entertaining the kids. I would recommend this show.

The cast was excellent, the weather was beautiful, and the kids had a blast. A little over priced for what you got though. (They don't actually sing) Great audience participation!

I took my daughter to the show to see the High School Musical. It was great for her. It was her first concert. She was even up front and one of the characters shook her hand. It was the best show for my daughter.

I took my 9 yo grandson, he loved it. Some of the kids were allowed to stand in the front of the stage, it was like being at a music concert. All the kids and parents seem to really enjoy the show. The dancing and singing was great.

High School Musical was excellent. It was a great way to spend an evening with your family. I recommend that the National Harbor have more musicals or plays in the future. Next time extend the musical for at least a week.

This was just a musical no acting at all!!! We thought it was a play!!! It is a ok concert. The characters from the movie were not there which we knew before going so just a concert was not great we have the soundtrack we would have much rather turn it up loud at the park and dance. Honestly another way for Disney to make money.

The show was cute but consisted of mostly lipsynching people dancing to the songs from High School Musical. If the show was $10 per person I would have that it was good but we paid $30 per ticket which was way overpriced for this type of show. The show was also very short at an hour and a half including an intermission. The timing was poor also. The ampitheater is outdoors and the sun was blasting in our eyes for the majority of the show which made it difficult to see the stage. If it had started at 7 it would have been easier to see. The kids did enjoy it but just as they were really getting into it it was over. This was a cute show but it was extremely over priced for what we saw.

Well...where do I start. For one thing, I had no idea it was an outdoor venue on a black top. If it had been any warmer that day, it would have been unbearable. And really, $10 bucks to park! The chairs were not staggered and the stage was too low, so my children could really not see a thing. It was a complete waste of money to see a bunch of kids lip-sync...all of what they could have seen by putting the movie in. Nothing exciting about it. Will not attend any more events at the Plateau.

My 8 and 5 year olds loved the show. They did music from all three movies, the actors were great - but they lip synched the whole show (aside from an ad-lib or two) - but my kids didn't care because the choreography was the same as the movie. By the end of the show the kids had run down to the stage and were dancing and singing and having a great time.

The show was great. It was nice that they allowed the kids to come up close to the stage. The event managers were good at keeping the tall parents back so that the view was not obstructed. The guy that played Troy was a true look-alike. My daughter was in heaven One critique, and its not anything about the show... The trailers that are used to for the actors need to have blinds or curtains on the windows. People were changing and giving the crowd a peek-show, unintentionally.

On Saturday, July 18, 2009 I took my kids to the National Harbor in Washington, D.C. to see High School Musical. Both of my daughters enjoyed every minute of the show. I especially loved when one of the members of the show came down into the audience and let one the kids in the audience sing a song. For all you High School Musical fans this is a must see.

The performers were very good, and our kids enjoyed the show, they sang along with the songs, etc., I would recommend this to anyone with kids that are fans of the HS movies. It was hard to tell if the performers were lip-syncing or actually singing, I think it was a combination of both, but it sounded great, and the dancing was very polished. However, Kool productions did a sub-par job running things, most notably, allowing a crowd of people to stand in front of the stage, blocking or partially blocking the view of anyone in the first sections. This was not general admission, everyone had assigned seats. And there was no announcement to let just the little ones come up front, like a Wiggles concert, there were tall adults standing, snapping pictures, etc. While they would ask the tallest adults to sit down every once in awhile, they did nothing else, no announcement during the intermission, for example, to correct the situation. And while I know $10 parking is par for the course, this venue consisted of folding chairs in a parking lot, along with a bunch of upwind porto-potty's for bathrooms, so I think $10 to park in a gravel parking lot for the outdoor show was a bit greedy. I will continue to go to Disney-affiliated shows, we've enjoyed many and the quality of the performance is always top-notch, but I will not be attending any future Kool Productions.

Although we did not get to see the whole musical due to the rain. the 45 minutes that we did see was really good. I was however;m disappointed that the actors weren't actually singing but they lip synced instead. All in all I would definitely recommend this play to others.

The young dancers / singers? (hard to tell if it was live or not) had tremendous energy and the kids loved them but the venue is terrible and the rain showers didn't help.

We surprised our daughter with tickets to High School Musical and she couldn't have been more excited. We were worried about the rain, but it didn't matter to her. The staff was nice and once the rain came pouring down on us they went to an intermission. We waited a few minutes under the canopy they had and the show continued on once the rain had passed. Overall I was impressed with the show.

This was ok for the smaller children. This should have been rated better or describe better; So, the parents would have a better opportunity in assessing this program before purchasing tickets. I thought this was a play since it stated on stage. however, it was a concert.

The show was a blast for my 5 year old. It captured all three movies. My only complaints were the weather (the skies opened and poured out a thorough drenching) and the inconsiderate parents who let their children stand up and obstruct the view of those behind them. Despite all of that I had a very happy kid.

Well to start with Sharpay was WAY to old to be p[laying a high school student but her voice was good. The music was SO loud I had a headach for two days...not joking. Please if your going to have something like this in a smaller area...turn down the music.

I took my 6 yr old daughter and a friend and they enjoyed it, but we were all disappointed that the singers/dancers did not sing. They lip-synced. I wish they had advertised this so we could have lowered our expectations. It also would have been better if they had more audience participation. My daughter was dying to get up in the aisles or on stage and dance for a little bit.

I was really amazed at the dancers. It looked as though they were doing the actual singing, but I don't see how that was possible because it sounded exactly as the movies. All the kids in the audience were really enjoying it, singing and dancing along with the cast. Some were even brought onto the stage to dance with the cast. The entire show was amazing. If you have children, this is a must-see for them. I was never once bored during the entire show.
