Monster Truck Winter Nationals

Aside from Stingers carnage to his truck, I would have loved to see the others do similar or more. The little trucks could have been better, as well. Not much action with those. I would also like to see more of the older trucks coming in, like Big Foot. The heat (flames) were non-existent and would have been nice to feel the heat!!

No problem entering with the pre-printed bar code from Ticket Master. The seating at this Mesquite Arena is bench seating. The rows of seating are slightly too close and there are no drink holders. Reserve seat numbers may not mean too much when patrons are slightly over weight, throwing the seat numbers off. The show was very good and we enjoyed it. It was the first time for motocross racing in this Mesquite Arena and I believe this arena may be a little too small for motorcycle racing and the show should stick to motocross freestyle jumping. The Monster Trucks need a larger area to play because they had to slam on their brakes and skid after most jumps to avoid hitting the walls. I had a blast and I would go again, I wish the seats had back support and cup holders and I wish the arena for this particular type of event was larger. Ear plugs are recommended for young / old or sensitive ears. Expect long, long lines for the restrooms as they are limited for this location.

Big Foot is Crazy, but a very Skilled Diver. He know how to put on a very good show...

The event was suppose to start at 7:30 but didn't start until 8:40. We had a group of kids between 7yrs-11yrs so by the intermission they were done. The event seemed to be poorly run and was not very impressive. I've been to other Monster Truck shows and this was the bottom of the barrel. Would not go again!

This was not entertaining at all. An hour delay before it started and there was more wait time than show. Would not go to this one again. Arena too small for the show.

The event was over an hour late and even with the extra time to prepare the event staff were still fumbling around

First off the event started an hour late. Meanwhile they are making $10 a person on the Monster Truck ride which fits about 20 people! So for an hour that they told us they had some people stuck in traffic, they were making a ton of money! The kids were so tired already from getting there for the 6 pm pit party! Then the motorcycle guy that jumps all the cars got hurt after his first jump so that was over! He was 64 years old! Now it's time for the big trucks and they all rode of the same 2 cars and that was it! Now intermission! Seriously, they were an hour late getting started and now intermission, which is when they give out more rides for $10 a person! Now they can make some more money! Wouldn't recommend this show to anyone! I hear Monster Jam is awesome! This show had more down time with nothing happening than entertainment! The drunk girl in the audience was more entertainment than the show!

Even though it wasn't in a big city, it was still one heck of a good show! Worth the money. Would go again. Wish they would have an option when buying the tickets to buy the pit pass tickets too.

It cost me $48 for two tickets,the arena was so small they could barely do a donut let alone do any thing fun, A roll over competition was advertised but they didn't have any participants. Every even I have ever been to with Bigfoot, their has always been a bunch of no-names and Bigfoot, who always seems to break, they should get some more well known trucks. I dont think I will be going to this event again I would rather travel a little father and have something like "summer nationals" on like the Aurora Highschool football field where they have enough room to do something exciting.

Had a blast with my Daughter! Ready for next year to take the whole family!

These tickets were $25 for VIP General admission and we did get to get the kids pictures taken with the trucks and drivers but the competition...lame! The ONLY thing they did was drive over 2-sets of 4 cars that were side-by-side on dirt piles on the floor and then spin around on the concrete...that's it! There was a bike jumper and he was fun, actually the best part of the show. I won't even waste my money on these tickets again to this show. I have been to the Monster Jam and that is worth every penny. This was so disapointing.

It was great watching my little boy's face when mud flew and cars got crushed. The Monroe Civic Center is a bit small for this kind of event, but it was still a lot of fun.

I haven' been to a truck pull or show in years. I was in town and bought a ticket on a whim. What a waste of money. There were only SIX trucks and after the first 30 minutes, two of them were inoperable. The arena is tiny, so the "races" were about 50 yards long and lasted about 4 seconds. Really. One of the trucks had a makeshift plastic body that was old, faded, cracked and held together in places with duct tape. Really. The arena was maybe 40% filled and the poor announcer was desperately trying to "stir the crowd." I left after 45 minutes and should have after 30.

Too small of an arena. Just a few trucks revving up there engines is not enough.

It was great! All 5 kids had a great time. We also enjoyed the motorcross intermission events.

NO big names in monster trucks! Next time I will make sure it is the U.S. Hot Rod Assoc.

While the show was good and drivers did their best, the location wasn't too big so they couldn't pick-up speed and were very limited while attempting tricks. Also, there was not a dedicated line for Ticketmaster reservations so I ended up paying more for the tickets plus having to wait in line for 15 minutes. Finally, VIP seats were not an option when I bought the tickets but VIP seats were partially empty at the show.

It was cool, but there were only 5 trucks. We so wanted to see Grave Digger. That is all my 3 year old grandson, Noah, talks about. He loves Grave Differ.

Very disappointed in this monster truck program. Too much talking by the mc and "porkchop". I didn't go to hear about porkchop's life stories or to hear the rules of the competition & who the sponsors were over & over & over again. Trucks performed well but too little performance. Definitely not worth the ticket price. We left before intermission. I understand why there weren't many people there.

The event was a lot of fun to watch. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that I personally thought the arena was a bit too small and they really couldn't give the crowd their fullest. Great show and we've been going for years to watch!

My two year old loved this. I have never seen him so excited. He was clapping and yelling and just having a great time. I was kind of upset after sitting in line to ride the truck they told us we could not, but I understand time was an issue. The only problem I had, was the building needed some type of ventilation system because it was very smoky. Other than that we had a wonderful time and I will recommend this to anyone.

WAY TO MUCH TALKING AND NOT ENOUGH ACTION.LONG DRAWN OUT EVENT THAT WAS TIRING FOR KIDS AND PARENTS.

The show was pretty good for the size of the arena. My kids had a great time, thus so did I.

Ok production - Lots of delays - Overpriced for the event in my opinion.

Checkered Flag Productions brought their " A " game once again this year and produced an amazing show..i am already for next year

I think it was a pretty good show just wish the track was bigger so they could do more.

The winter national monster trucks in ottumwa really needed a bigger performance space to do it justice. The facility was not large enough for the trucks to really show there true ability.

It was good but would have been better if it was in a bigger area. It was worth it because my kids really enjoyed it.

the event is well organized and any seat is a good view. The kids had a blast ridi g Seargant Smash and gettin autographs.

Awesome! We all had a blast! Be sure and bring hearing protection especially for the little ones!

This was my boys first monster truck show. Was a real treat to see how much fun they had! I used to go when I was a kid at the same place. The coliseum hasn't changed any thing. It sure could use some updates! Would have been nice if there were more trucks. Other than that we had a really fun time at the show!

Area is way too small for monster trucks they can barely turn around Not too exciting but the drivers did they best they could There is no car smashing just a dirt hill Took kids ages 3-14 little one thought it was cool but it's a lot of money for a couple laps

I was not overly impressed with the event. There is not enough room in the Salem Civic Center for monster trucks to perform a show that is amazing to the crowd. There are no well known trucks such as Grave Digger, etc that show for the kids that collect and pay good money to have the trucks as an everyday toy. My grandson has over 50 monster trucks and is a big fan, but you event planner should try to get more well known drivers and trucks to participate. The noise level is tremendously loud for kids and even adults had ear plugs as well. Kids would like to see more truck challenges and less other stuff just to fill the night. I have been to these shows for 15 years with my son and now my grandson. Keep the night exciting and eventful !!

Too small of space. Not what I have been used to seeing a little disappointed but my 5 year old son and his cousin had fun so that is all that matters.

This was not what you expect from a monster Truck show. They just drove around in circles and hopped small mounds of dirt. No crushing of cars...etc. it was slow paced and unexciting. The air was so stuffy with diesel fuel it gave my kids headaches. We left at intermission.

Good show for the price, my kid enjoyed it a lot! There was not much space for the trucks to do much but they did what they could with the space and it was enjoyable!!

The show was ok, I have seen much better In the past. If they continue to be mediocre we may stop going. The positive, it is nonstop and every seat offers a great view.

I have attended the Monster Truck Winter Nationals before and had a really great time. This time however, the pace was very slow and border line boring. Wasted way too much time on the motorcycle jump prior to the start of the Monster Truck competition. Between the hype prior to the jump and the time spent tearing down the jump ramps, that was 45 min. of time we could have been watching the Monster Trucks!

I would not call this a monster truck show! .. We watched the trucks drive over (already smashed) cars twice each. One of the four trucks was broken down the entire show .. And then we watched kids on bicycles do tricks. If I wanted to watch a bmx show I would have bought tickets for a bmx show. Very disappointed!!!

This entire event was a joke. The flyer we saw that prompted us to buy tickets said there would be 6 trucks biggest show ever. There were 4 and one was broke down the entire evening. Web page also had deceiving info about the trucks that would be there. Putting a list of trucks that had been part of the show. VIP tickets were 25 dollars and included a meet and greet with the drivers who were as cold as the 10 degree weather we had that evening. Also the VIP pit party was not exclusive to those ticket holders as it claimed. Venue is terribleasy place for this type of event as the exhaust fumes burned my son's eyes. VIP seats were general admission with no one checking so yeah we were up front but the guy next to me along with his family did not pay the additional $ yet had the same seats I did. At the end of the evening the meet and greet autograph session was terribly organized and the drivers were once again very cold and unappealing. Signed my son's flag without even looking up at him. They were rude and don't deserve to call themselves entertainers. The only ones who were remotely inviting were the side acts which were the quad drivers and the bmx riders. My 12 year old loved them but made it a point to say that the truck drivers were rude. Never again will I waste my money on one of these events....

I was excited to see the event as I have enjoyed watching the trucks on television for many years. Let's start off by saying the Hara Arena is way to small to hold this type of event. Secondly, the promotion only brought 5 trucks to the event which was disappointing. There was way too much time between the action and setting up for the next event during the performance. Two of the 4 trucks suffered mechanical problems which is expected but if you only bring 4 trucks that doesnt leave much room for this type of problem. Lastly, the exhaust from the trucks that were running quickly filled the arena to the point where a break was required to clear the air.

This was a great event for kids. Although there is not much room for the monster trucks, the kids still enjoyed it.

all the monster trucks did was pop awheely once or twice and that was it. I was expecting grave digger and some big name guys there but it was just a couple locals that need driving lessons. most of the trucks broke after a jump or two.

we all had a great time I would go again if they had it there the kids loved it . the one monster truck lost his wheel and that was cool. the one jeep rolled over onto its side

This was our first monster truck show and we took our 4 year old. We all had a great time. He loved getting to meet batman and crew and riding in a monster truck. Definitely need ear plugs and glad we had them. Was pretty expensive but worth it for first time. Probably won't do it again until our other son is old enough to go.

The building was way to small for the monster trucks. They only have 4 trucks that nobody has ever even heard of. The meet and greet was a complete joke. The building is falling apart and was super cold in there. They couldn't even plow the parking lot and tons of people were stuck. The best part was the jet car and dinosaur.

Show was lame, everything was overpriced, and arena was too small for this type of event. The Batmobile from the 60's...seriously...my Grandkids were expecting the Tumbler.

Having 2 boys that are 4 years apart we have been to several Monster Truck events in the last 12 years. This one tops the list of worst ones. There were only 4 trucks at the show. Each truck did three events. There was a clown that you saw more than the Monster Trucks. It was lame, boring and not worth the money we paid. VIP was a joke too. Batman, Robin, the Joker, and Cat Woman looked like they were picked up from a costume party down the road. I will not go back to this event. If you are considering, I would choose Monster Jam over this event!

Pretty cool show! Kids really enjoyed Megasouras. The jet powered smart car was sweet!

Event itself was a new experience and my son loved it. I enjoyed the show.

MY FAMILY AND I GO TO THE MONSTER TRUCK SHOW AT THE RAPIDES PARISH COLISUEM EVERY YEAR; IT'S KINDA OF A TRADITION, SOMETHING THAT WE ALL ENJOY. LAST YEAR'S SHOW WAS GREAT-EVEN OUR 5 YEAR OLD SON LOVED IT. THIS YEAR'S EVENT WAS THE WORSE ONE YET. 'UNEVENTFUL' IS HOW I DESCRIBE IT. WITHIN THE FIRST HOUR, I WAS THINKING IT WAS BAD HOPEFULLY IT GETS BETTER. IT DID NOT. THERE WAS ONE MOMENT WE WERE THINKING 'OK, NOW THE ACTION IS STARTING', BUT IT SOON FIZZLED. BESIDES THAT, I WAS SHOCKED THAT A VENUE SUCH AS THIS ONE-IN THIS FAST PACED WORLD WE LIVE IN-DIDN'T HAVE AN ATM NOR DID THE REFRESHMENT AREA ACCEPT DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS.

This was the wost monster truck show I have ever seen. The show was dragged on to look like it lasted a long time. Also, the announcer was so boring and dry. My kids lost interest early on.

I don't know how a Monster Truck Show could be boring, but this one was. I kept waiting for excitement and it didn't happen. I've watched golf tournaments that had more punch.

That was the worst show ive been to....I dont know how the friday show was but the saturday show was the worst ive seen. Even with a new stadium, id be hesitant to go after this. I felt robbed...

We had wonderful seating. Only bad thing was unruly family next to us.

This was my son's first monster truck show. He had an awesome time as well as I did. They put on a great show!

Everbody there was great. Never seen so much (hey his truck won't start,better help) so the race could go on. Serious trucks though. They were just plane amazing. Gotta go again. If you love the raw fuel smell from blower fed bigblocks (drag racing... nitro-methane funny cars) your losing out and a damn good time for the whole family. I'm guessing quite a few of the trucks were pushing 8000 hp, you don't go from standing still in front of a car and the next second they are 12 to 15 feet in the air straight up. Smoking hot!!!! Bad Boys of Racing you rock.

It is a show for kids and even they got bored after a while. Ticket prices are too high for what you get.

Monster trucks were great. Grave digger lost it when his wheel flew off, but he really put on a great show till he rolled over. Everything was great, except the four wheel races only 3 drivers and one driver ruined both races as he looked like he had no clue how to race. Would have been much better if the two white bikes would have raced might have gotten a little exciting. That was the only negative about the evening.

We had a great time! Have the events move faster. Announcer included the crowd in things and was impressed with how many parents brought their kids to the event. That is great family outing. We did not encounter any negative thing about the event. We all traveled in the snow to get there and it was well attended in spite of the snow. Thanks for a fun evening.

All of our kids enjoyed the show. Our 11 yr, 4 yr, and 2 yr old twins just loved it. They weren't to forsure of the noise at first and refused ear plugs. But the kids really got into it. This was their first time attending the monster truck. It's way better watching it live than on TV. The motorcycle and polaris races were great. The polaris guys did a superb job! Besides for the monster trucks the polaris was the best entertainment. I'd like to seen more racing and action from the monster trucks but I also understand they had limited space. The fumes were very strong and made my eyes water. This was a great event real close to home that the whole family could attend and enjoy. We loved that we didn't have to drive more than an hour. It was well worth it. the ticket prices were reasonable too.

My husband and I and two of our kids went on Friday and we were so disappointed.We didn't think it would be that boring the most exciting part was probably how loud it was and the side by sides. We definitely wished we got more out of it since we had a drive there and a drive home .

This event was scheduled to start at 7:30. Maybe it started at 8:15. The first guy got hurt mainly from showing off & tricking the audience. Not one word could be understood from the guy with the microphone. It was pitiful. It was Monster trucks & there were more motorcycles than trucks. And the people could not even stay on them! The track was too small. Terrible & expensive event never again

The show started ONE HOUR from the time it was suppose to, and ended only 30 min after the time it said it would end. Also out of 5 trucks only two were working! Not cool! The only good thing is that my son was able to go Saturday again. And from what I was told the show was better than Friday!

Not enough room to make the show worth a darn 50 feet of side by side racing isn't really a race and for the amount of money spent on tickets I'm surprised I'm giving it 2 stars

I purchased 9 tickets to the show...was very upset that there was more dirt bike activites then there was Monster Truck Action....If I wanted to see dirt bikes race...I would have gotten tickets for a dirt bike show...pretty sure my tickets said Monster Truck....and the dirt bike races wasn't even good races...no jumps or anything...just running around a circle track...boring!!! there should have been more Monster Truck Activites...also anytime the announcer was talking you couldn't here him..talking straight into the microphone was muffeling his voice... remember the Monster Truck Show when I was growing up..was one of my favorite childhood memories...This however wouldn't even come close ... very disappointed!!!

A good place to drink beer and hang out, but not very entertaining. The show was slow, mechanical failure, etc. Kind of like a one ring circus with lots of waiting. The early evening was slow and not what I expected. With small kids the good stuff never happened since we had to leave after a couple of hours. Did not hold their attention at all. I'll have to try a bigger show. This show might have been better if they compressed it into 2 hours.

We had a great time at the Monster Trucks. I had VIP tickets and so we got to go and see the trucks close up and meet the drivers. Had a awesome time. I bought a second set of tickets that were in section 208 and gave these tickets away as an act of kindness.

More trucks, less motorcycles!!! More freestyle too!!!

More of a kids show.. not worth $40 tickets.circle track cycles were a no go.. boring as could be. Too many issues quick with vehicles.. thank God bigfoot was there to keep it a little interesting

Great time, took my 7 year old nephew to it and we loved it!!!

Poor timing, long breaks between limited action. There was only 4 trucks and one broke.

Mesquite Arena, Monster Truck Winter Nationals was not worthy of the entry fee. Way to many kids cycles running in two lap circles and delays constantly. A stretched out, delayed, weak show with an announcer that was constantly blabbering unintelligent noise ! Not near the quality I expected.

Way too much motorcycle, way too much emcee, way too few monster trucks. Will reconsider whether to attend next year. The kids enjoyed the 2012 show a lot more.

The 7:30 show did not start until 9, because the line for Sgt Smash was evidently too long to dismiss, and the MC announced there was a "huge line of people waiting outside to get in and we do not want to ruin anyone's evening." This was a lie, there was no crowd waiting to get in, and showed disrespect for everyone that was in the arena ready for the published start time. Then we spent the first 45 minutes watching a 60+ year old overweight guy get ready to do ONE motorcycle jump. Mind you we have now been a the show for 2 hours and we have not yet seen a single monster truck in action at this monster truck show. Then we watched in sequence as each monster truck came out and did 2 x 15 second runs then spend 2 minutes to re-position and park, then the next truck would pull out for his 2 x 15 second runs and we got to watch him try to back up...5 or 6 trucks like this with the bulk of the show being a demonstration of the total lack of logistical planning and disrespect for people's time. Then more motorcycles!! this time to do racing, three heats. We have now spent more time watching motorcycles than monster trucks and then they TOOK AN INTERMISSION!! A break from what!? Not from all the monster trucks, because we had hardly seen any of those. My wife and younger kids gave up and went home, interestingly I think about half of the folks there did the same thing. The post intermission crowd was much thinner. Me and the older kids stuck it out and luckily the post intermission was when the trucks got interesting, and the freestyle was what I think we all came to see, unfortunately it was too little too late, and before they could even call for an audience judged winner the arena was vacated, and it was after 11PM. There was also a second round of motorcycle racing ... talk about loss of momentum, and a disconnection from your customers. Too little monster trucks, to much time watching them struggle with the inefficient logistics planning, and an imbalance of monster truck performances at a monster truck show that had more time watching motorcycles, and a disregard for the attendees time by delaying and dragging out a show that should have been compressed and done by 9:30 maybe 10.

This is a small rodeo arena, and I felt it shouldn't be utilized for a Monster Truck show event. My 3-5 year old were looking forward to the show all week and we all left dissappointed. First, there was a long delay of starting the show due to a wreck (which the show was kind enough to wait for everyone to show up) (by the time it started, it really should have been almost over); second, after the motorcyclist entered the arena, it took another fifteen minutes to prep for the monster trucks to come out and make one lap around the tiny arena; third, for the money, this was not worth it because the trucks did tiny stunts (likely because they didn't have enough room to perform). My three year old watches recorded shows commented that "this is not monster truck tricks".

I was very upset the the Monster Truck Winter National stated 20 minutes late. No excuse to start a show late.

Between the over done "WHOOO HOO 'Merica!" rhetoric and the equipment failures and the tiny arena floor which allowed very little room for the trucks to do much more than go in a circle and make a small jump and the super lame motor cycle racing that just kept going and going and going this was a really boring event and I am sorry I paid so much for the tickets. Gauging by all the empty seats, other folks knew better. Wish I had. Someone tell Mr. Ed the motorcycle jumper that he is too old (63??) and too over weight to be jumping bikes which is obvious by all the injuries he sustained this weekend. Time to hang it up, buddy.

I have been to several monster truck shows over the years and this was by far the most disappointing. There were only five trucks and the only 'big name' truck was one of the lesser known trucks from the Bigfoot shop. The arena was just too small to have any real course so they just did a wheelstand contest and a short drag race style elimination rounds with one bump at the start and one bump and two cars just after, maybe forty yards total. The side shows were a dozen or so flat track motorcycle racers and the highlight of my night was a ride around the arena in Sergeant Smash - a bus like monster truck. We were very disappointed and glad we opted for the $14 seats...I couldn't imagine wasting $65 a seat for that.

The arena was too small for the trucks to do muck of anything. There was more motorcross racing than there was monster truck racing. I was disapointed and if I wanted to see a motorcross race I would have went to one.

i took my 9 yr old son, we got to see some great trucks, motorcycle racing, it was worth the money.

It was mostly a show for kids 5-10. not for teenagers or adults. i went on the first night. and i heard that the second night was better so i was a little disapointed. but okay.

This event was delayed starting by 1 hour. They only had 5 trucks and two broke immediately. The track was too small for the flat track motorcycles. The monster truck rides during intermission were shorter than pre show, but the same price. I will never return to this event at this venue. I'll seek out a larger better organized event to spend my money at.
