The event gets a huge thumbs-down, and also lowers the rating of Gimlet, my favorite podcasting company since inception. The hosts, Mark, Zach and the NYT writer came across as ill-prepared - as if they had not bothered to prepare even a brief welcome or introduction when addressing a live audience.Thank God there was an intermission, so I wouldn't have to walk out while one of the elderly ruffians was re-telling the same story or mildly different version from the podcast. Winner of the Raspberry Award for poorly planned live "events". There was absolutely nothing entertaining about the evening. A total waste of time and a beautiful summer evening.

The show began so wonderfully. The live music was amazing and added to the incredible mob vibe. I enjoyed hearing stories that weren't apart of the podcast series, including how they chose Providence, started to research the topic and their overall process. Bobby Walason is a complete character and was easily the best part of the show. However, the space was tight. the table for four people was tiny and our chairs were barely big enough to sit on. in the 2 hours we were there, I was never able to flag down a waitress. The second interview was very boring and repeated all the stories from the podcast series. In my opinion, that portion of the show was not worth the money we spent. We left at intermission and were very pleased with our decision to go get dinner. Overall, we had a great time. Maybe it would have been better in a different venue.
