Trampled By Turtles

Trampled By Turtles

Minnesota bluegrass outfit Trampled by Turtles breathe new life into the genre with their boot-stomping rock and roll approach. Originally hailing from various rock bands, the quintet found a welcome change in the acoustic palette of bluegrass, creating a unique hybrid sound that they've honed over seven albums. Boasting a rowdy live presence characterized by virtuoso mandolin and fiddle playing, the band has impressed crowds at festivals ranging from Coachella to Lollapalooza, building excitement for their US tour dates in 2014.FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:\"Lots of energy, amazing instrumental skills, great har.

Our seats were in the back of the balcony, yet we could hear the vocals and every note played by the awesome accoustic band, Trampled by Turtles. I don t think there s a bad seat in the house at the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. It was wonderful!

TBT absolutely rocked First Ave on Saturday night, thrilling set of Palomino (cover to cover) and some oldies but goodies to close the night out... once again, the Turtles kicked it and turned out this historic venue. Well done fellas, well done.

The second night of Trampled by Turtles @First Ave was awesome. All 3 bands were great, but TBT were amazing. It made me wish I'd gotten tickets for the first night, too. Thanks for a great show, & come back to Minneapolis again soon!

Most of us have seen the Charlie Daniels Geico commercial where he's Fiddlin at a fancy restaurant and tells the owner of the violin - Now That's How You Do It Son! Well TBT would get the same response from him if he was in the audience. They're tight on their play and just come at you with their music - fast and slow. I loved it!

It is rare to see such unabashed and raw talent in anything! This group of musicians was so highly skilled that even if you weren't a Blue Grass fan you would likely be blown away by the mere energy, presence of mind, and dedication, and exploration of sound exhibit on stage. I had the feeling of being caught in a rare moment in time when one by chance get to see revealed someone's inner most flare for life and its holy greatness! I loved that Trampled by Turtles was so in love with their music that they weren't there to impress anyone with their on-sage bravado; this quality is often true of high class musicians., the truly talented. They are the salt of the earth, but dont let that fool you into thinking these guys are common, there is nothing common about them -- extraordinary - one of the best concerts I have ever seen. We danced our ars's off!

Ben Sollee was fantastic. The things he does with that cello! Very original, very well performed, very good music. Trampled By Turtles, as always, has fabulous energy and upbeat tempos. You can't help but jump along to their speedy mandolin and fiddle, guitars and banjo. The mandolin player's hands move so fast that they literally blur! Way to go, Minnesota, for producing such a fantastic bluegrass band!

I heard about Trampled By Turtles from two separate people. They, just like me didn't really know the band but was aware of there slow climb out of obscurity. They were fun, lively, energetic and loud for an acoustic string band. Was I impressed? Well, not really. I give them points on originality and the energy they brought to the stage. But, there was no stand out talent, no jams, and no leads. When I see bluegrass, I enjoy seeing each band member take off with a sweet solo here and there. Not TBT. They are not that type of band. To battle this deficit, they played loud and fast. Actually, the fastest strumming I think I've ever seen! That alone is worth seeing these guys. But will I see them again? If they we're in a festival line up, yes. If they came to town again to play a small venue, likely no. They need some deep, rich solo's to grab my attention. All in all, they were fun, put on a great show, and I enjoyed the music.

Last year I didn't have tickets and ended up watching the crowd bouncing to the great energy of Trampled from the room overlooking the main room. I was stuck listening to Goth music while seeing the action that was going on in the main room with Trampled. This year I made sure that I was there!!! It was such a blast. It was my first time in the main room- what an amazing venue! Not a bad spot in the place! I love Trampled By Turtles' energy. How they affect the collected group of followers is amazing! Their energy is contagious and you can't help but move. It smelt like a locker room in the pit area, but that just meant that everyone was bustin' it out and having a blast!

I've seen quite a few artists at the Ryman and have yet to be disappointed. Trampled by Turtles are not only an extremely talented group of musicians but put on a stand-up-worthy show; lights, sound, set list, accompanying acts... the whole bit. It was more than an enjoyable show. It was memorable and the happiness that stems from watching a high quality bluegrass band at the historic Ryman will only continue to add to the nostalgia of this night. Way to go!!! jeffery d.

This was our first Trampled by Turtles concert and it exceeded all expectations. We were three rows from the very back but it didn't even matter, we felt like we were right there next to the stage. The group of people that we sat next to all agreed that we would get up and dance. There is no way you cannot groove and cheer to this kind of music. We were probably the rowdiest section in the auditorium but everyone was on board. The set list was amazing and I left just wanting more. Thank you for letting us stand and have fun. Thank you for the beautiful venue and amazing music.

The event was spectacular! We lucked into seeing TBT during a free livestream on Yahoo and it was epic! The band was more conversational than my past experiences with them during the show, the venue is big enough to have a real energy about the show but small enough to feel exclusive. The band has a wonderful mix of high energy, punk infused bluegrass/Americana tunes with thoughtful, intricate slower songs.

Trampled by Turtles sauntered into the Tabernacle and laid it down. Mixing their patented 'speed grass' tunes with excellent soulful slowdowns they kept the crowd hungry and the show rolled by providing an unending smile on my face. Really appreciated the additional symphony guests to start and close the show. These cats get better everytime I see them and, judging by the large happy crowd, the secret is out...

I I had never been to the Fox & was really looking forward to this show! I had come to see Elephant Revival but was also interested in hearing Trampled by Turtles at this historic venue. Elephant Revival could have played longer but I was happy to hear them again & glad that they were reaching a larger audience. Trampled by Turtles were also good. I was in about the center of the Loge & had the best seats in the house for viewing them but sadly, the sound was pretty muddy for both bands. Perhaps it's the nature of the acoustics there but I don't think I'll return to see a concert at the Fox again. So, good music / bad sound.

Trampled by Turtles were amazing. They were very tight with all of the songs in their set. However, some of the fans were just rude. The opening act was unique and full of energy! TBT was unbelievable! If you love their albums, they sound even better live! The only downside to this show was the amount of overly drunk people shoving me and other short girls out of the way to make it as close to the stage as possible. I was pretty upset with a specific group of early 20 year olds and if it were any other show I probably would have left, but once TBT took the stage it made it all worth while. Elephant Revival opened and blew me away. Their vocals and the ability to change instruments & sound really stood out compared to the other two bands. The set was short, but great. Devil Makes Three was the second band, but played longest. They played a good number of Devilfied classics and did well changing tempo throughout their set. Trampled By Turtles set was nonstop energy, and although there wasn't much movement onstage, the music was powerful. Their set was cut short abruptly by venue closing time and it really seemed anticlimactic. Overall, an amazing night of incredible music and an excited, rockin, yet respectful crowd.

I love this band and I loved this venue. They had two openers that played longer than Trampled By Turtles. The opening act (The Lowest Pair) was fantastic! Trampled by Turtles was outstanding - great sets, great sound, wonderful energy. The two bands get fave stars but the venue and the general admissions seating was terrible. Why didn't they book them with the regular seating? Or at least have the option of sitting? This is an issue with the venue, not the bands.

Trampled by Turtles were good. I would have liked if they had played more of their upbeat numbers than they did.

The acoustics at the Taft always impress me and the energy was amazing from both the performers and the crowd.

The show was great. Apache Relay was awesome too. I would gladly see both together again, or on their own.

One of if not the best show I've been to. Band sounded excellent. The opening act was great. The venue was awesome. Neat little theater. Wish I would have gotten there earlier so I could have checked it out more.
