A great live band not many people seem to have heard of. If you haven't listened try them out. These guys are great in concert and the Theatre of Living Arts is a great venue. Intimate and right on top of the band. About 1000 people and the sound was amazing. These guys deserve more US recognition.

My husband flew from Hawaii to Arizona years ago to see The Fratellis play, only to find out at the last minute that the band was too high to go on... Massive heartbreak. Fast forward to the best birthday surprise I could've possible given him this year... I don't know how I kept this a secret for as long as I did- but it felt so good to see his face when he realized what we were walking into. The Fratellis at The Belasco made his birthday so special, so a million thanks, all around. It was worth the wait, for sure.

I first saw them 2 years ago in the same venue, and loved it. I love that it is such a small venue, much more personal. The Fratellis are a great band, and are very approachable, generous, gracious guys. They played a lot of the songs off of Costello Music, several off of We Need Medicine, and of course Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied, and a couple from Here We Are. I will definitely be going to see them again, providing they come back

Absolutely brilliant show. Mix of old and new songs, all had the crowd going crazy! Would recommend seeing them in a small venue like Paradise Rock Club, as we were right by the stage. Great music, great guys!

The Fratellis were great. They played a good selection of their songs and didn't forget to play the crowd favourites :) I danced the whole night long. This is my second time seeing The Fratellis and I always feel lucky I am able to watch a phenomenal band in such a relatively small venue. I would never want to miss a Fratellis concert if they came back to Toronto.

The Fratellis are the best band no one's heard of. Friday night, November 1, they opened their U.S. tour with a show at Webster Hall in NYC to a sold-out audience that had to number around 1,000, which was probably far more than the legal limit for the room. The band played a good mix of classic (yes, their first album's only 6 years old, but it's a classic) songs from their first LP, "Costello Music", a few from their follow-up "Here We Stand" and a number of new songs from their just-released album "We Need Medicine." As the band's leader, Jon handled the intros between songs, speaking with the crowd enthusiastically; he wasn't just going through the motions. The band's phenomenal, with Jon on guitar, vocals and those outstanding hooks, Baz on bass and Mince mashing the drums and breaking sticks throughout. They performed 24 songs and I won't review individual songs other than to say that you should download all three albums and any bonus track releases you can because The Fratellis are the best band of the 21st century so far. It's hard to believe that this band hasn't broken in the States yet because they're huge in the UK.

Seen them several times, they just get better! The club was packed but everyone was there to rock out and have a good time. Opening act Blood Red Shoes was a pleasant surprise, definitely a fun time. Love the Paradise Rock Club, shout out to the staff for keeping it moving and being cool with the crowd!

I'm a huge fan, enjoy their different albums equally, though I'm partial to Costello Music as the classic and my introduction to the band. This was my first opportunity to see the Fratellis live. They were unforgettable, all so skilled, great performers, know their material backwards and forwards, able to play beautifully in different styles (such as an awesome swingin' country version of For the Girl, and a Fratellis-flavored Runaround Sue cover) and have fun onstage too. Highly recommend, and agree with an earlier reviewer: surprised to still be able to see them in such a small venue. Boston audience singing along with many songs, especially the Costello Music classics, but I guess their American fan base still has room to grow.

As expected, the Fratellis put on a great show. They sound just like they do on the cd, and have a good stage presence. However, I wouldn't recommend Paradise Rock Club to anyone. The acoustics are horrible and they never did get the sound loud enough to drown out all the rude people that talked through the entire show. Hopefully the next time the Fratellis come around they'll play a different venue.

To be honest, I was there to see Blood Red Shoes, as I've been a huge fan since the second album and have been waiting a few years to see them play live. Was a little concerned that the sound in the venue would be an issue, but the acoustics inside the theater were excellent. This was my first time at the Belasco Theater, and it's a great place to see a show. The architecture is impressive, and the location of love seats and chairs around the rim were in good spots if needed. Really, you can easily see the band from anywhere. Knowing from concert videos where the two would usually line up, I found a great spot and couldn't believe one of my favorite bands was that close up. They sounded and played every bit as great as I expected them to. An unexpected but welcome addition was the female bass player (Kate?) who played on one song with them. I had always wanted to hear them with some bass, so that was fun. While the Fratellis were playing, my buddy and I went to the merch line and got a chance to meet both members of Blood Red Shoes. They were both very gracious, accommodating, and fun to talk to. Laura even apologized that we didn't get to hear more of a full set, and I assured her it was fantastic just to see them live. Later, we went back in to see the Fratellis, and they were excellent. I hadn't heard their music before, but I heard enough to convince me to go get some of their music. I had been told they were folk, but they were not; it was much more of a rock sound that I particularly like. I would definitely see them again. Very engaging and fun. I can't believe that a simple $25 ticket allowed me to hear two great bands in a great venue like that. Very much recommended.

The Fratellis never disappoint, every show with them is a guaranteed good time and I can t wait to see them again. The Belasco was enjoyable too! It s an intimate and ornate venue with a variety of easy parking options near by and a Yardhouse restaurant within walking distance. My only regret is not seeing them in Santa Ana and San Diego as well.

I went to see the opening act Grizfolk. This was my first time seeing them live an I loved every minute. My friend & I are new to The Fratellies, but enjoyed each minute of their set. It's nonstop music that makes you want to move to the beat. Great show.

Great show! Had never heard Vundabar before but they put on a great opening set. Good humor as well as good music. The Fratellis did not disappoint! A very high energy show hitting almost all the best songs from the new and past albums (would have liked to hear My Friend John and Creepin Up the Back Stairs too, but you can't have everything). I'm very surprised they aren't playing bigger venues by now...not that I'm complaining, but it seems like they should be selling out amphitheaters at this point. Waiting for my dream concert of Jon opening The Fratellis with Codeine Velvet Club...make it happen gents!

Had tickets to see these guys back in '08, at the Orpheum in Boston, and due to a death back in Scotland, they cancelled the rest of their US tour, The Boston show set to take place two days afterward. The Fratellis went on hiatus a few months later, and I had been waiting for them to get back together ever since. And this concert was worth every day and more of the 5 years between then and Sunday. One of the most amazing shows I've ever been to.

As a long-time fan, I could not have been happier to finally see the Fratellis. Hearing all of my favorite songs live was incredible, and it was an amazing show in general! They were clearly having a blast, and so was the crowd. Plenty of people singing along. The Paradise is a wonderful venue for seeing the band up close and personal, and the sound is awesome. The opening band was excellent, and super friendly.

The venue was very small, which was great when it came to being so close to the stage (you can't be more than thirty feet away at any time, really) and afterwards talking to the band and the stagehands, but there are three huge supporting columns right in the middle of the crowd that create huge gaps where no one can stand if they want to see the stage at all. The opener, The Ceremonies were great, especially with the vocals (three and four part harmonies!) The Fratellis play very well live, but most of the riffs are done on the keyboard, and especially in the beginning of the show (the first song, This Old Ghost Town) the EQs were pretty messed up. They evened out more as the show went on (although I think Barry's mic was turned off the entire time). Regardless, the show was very impressive and enjoyable. They have a very cool sort of energy. Jon and Barry stopped outside of the bus to meet people. I spoke only to Jon but he was very friendly and charming. He took his time talking to people. I was a little surprised by how quiet he is.

Great show! To see them in a venue like Webster Hall is unbelievable because of the atmosphere they have. I am very happy they got back together because they are one of the bands that I have been dying to see and I am very happy I got that chance. Would definitely recommend trying to see them in a smaller venue if you have the chance.

Saw the Fratellis at Webster Hall. The performance was amazing. They played a really long set (approx 1hr 1/2). They played their entire new album and 95% of Costello Music. Only a few from their second album. As for the venue, I was front row dead center. Personally, the bass was WAYYYYYYY too loud. It was literally blowing my hair back, and it made it hard to hear the vocals (many other crowd members were complaining about the same thing). In terms of view, you can obviously see everything perfectly.

A very simple show, nothing fancy about it. They didn't even have a lighting guy, I think the Webster Hall techies did it! Just fun times and rock and roll. You could tell those blokes were just as excited to be in NY as we were to FINALLY have them back!
