Concert was awsome!!!!! The change in venue to the Warfield was a great choice, we got in 30 min. earlier than the rest of the people. we were on the floor center left on the stage, during one song Ronnie leaned over to meet the croud, I got a high five!!!!!! Geezer was not feeling well and left right after the concert. I have never seen Toni smile so much, and he was in awsome form, Love to watch Vinnie play, he was awsome as well!! Over all the concert was totally Awsome!!!!! I got some great pic's!! Would have loved to get my vinal copy of The Devil You Know autographed, Would have made the night complete!!!!

This was the third time I've seen H&H and by far the best yet. The House of Blues is a small venue, compared to the Spectrum and Susquehannah where I saw them before. I was 20 feet away from Dio and Iommi! Fantastic setlist too. And hey I even won a little in the casino!

I could have done without the opening band Neurosis. I honestly tried to get some redeeming value out of their music but failed. I ended up, with many others, out in the hall waiting for them to get off stage. Heaven & Hell was excellent, opening up with E5150/The Mob Rules and ending with an encore of Neon Knights. Other songs included I, Bible Black, Time Machine, Falling of the Edge of the World, and Heaven & Hell. Ronnie James Dio was fantastic and the rest of the band was tight and on their game. Great to see and hear such great rock legends.

Awesome show in every way (playing, singing, song selection, lights, audio, etc.) imaginable. My only disappointment was no (or hardly any in case I missed something) non-Heaven and Hell Sabbath material. I would have LOVED to hear these guys do War Pigs for example.

First, the venue: Had never been to WaMu Theater before- would definitely go back. Staff was nice, place was clean but best of all they had great sound and there really wasn't a bad seat in the house. Second, the band: These guys rock! Ronnie's voice is still amazing and Geezer, Tony and Vinnie are super tight. They had a cool stage setup and a decent light show. Ronnie James Dio is one of the most gracious musicians I've ever seen, taking time to sign autographs in between songs. Overall they put on a thoroughly enjoyable show and I would definitely recommend this show to others.

Everyone was at their top performance Dio's voice was awsome ,Toni Iomi was superb mixed with beautiful, Geezer's drum solo was amazing and Vinnie could kill a man by flicking them to death with his fingers I loved that base

Heaven and Hell's show in Seattle was a great example of an aging rock group that's still able to rock out like they aren't old enough to collect Social Security. The entire ensemble was in top form, with Dio hitting all the high notes, Tony Iommi's guitar mastery, Vinny Appice's solid drumbeat (including an impressive solo) and Geezer Butler holding it all together on the bass. My only complaint was that the set was drawn entirely from Black Sabbath's three albums with Dio and the new Heaven and Hell album - no Iron Man, War Pigs, N.I.B., etc. Still, the group did well with the material they selected from, playing a number of songs I hadn't heard before and closing with an extended Heaven and Hell.

All around excellent show. Dio sounds better than 30 years ago and all were first rate. Stage setup was finally what they should have done in the 70's. The imagery associated with a band of this caliber can go on and on. Show was too short though.

30 or so years of experience shows. Sabbath and dio are a great match. The only problem I have is the video screen was too bright and distracting. I'm not a fan of showing videos during a concert. I would rather watch the band. Dio held up the finally while he had the whole band sign what looked like a couple vinyl album covers from a fan (Mob Rules?). He had the house lights turned on many times to interact with the crowd during the show. Cool guy.

60 years old? Who cares... they play in peak form with amazing musicianship. Iommi is still one of my favorite guitarists of all time and I swear sometimes there are two guys playing up there. A lot of that is probably Geezer Butler's incredible bass mastery. Dio sings like he's 25...when most aging rockers sing an octave lower and growl. Vinnie Appice is a beast on the drums. I have always liked Bill Ward but Vinnie has a lot more power. Only negative was that the show was a bit short with only 1 encore. I was ready for three or 4 more songs. I guess this is where age kicks in! That and wishing we had Testament for a warmup instead of the awful band we got. Thanks to Ronnie, Tony, Vinnie & Geezer for finally coming to Seattle... it was worth the wait!

Still AMAZING after all these years. Dio never fails to deliver vocals that will knock you off your feet. Tony Iommi was flawless as was Geezer Butler. Vinnie Appice had an incredible 7 minute drum solo. From end to end not a person in the venue was sitting down. The view of all the devil horns from the stage must have been great. on a sad note. I really missed the fact that Coheed and Cambria were not there. The replacement opener Neurosis.....SUCKED!!! it was just bad noise followed by "cookie monster" vocals. More people left and went outside just so they didn't have to hear it, than people who stayed to watch them.

They played so well and perfect. It was hard to imagine that Dio was his age. You could not tell and his voice was extremely strong and clear. Iommi played the guitar flawlessly and geezer flailed on the bass. Appice pounded the drums and the stage set was pure evil. One of the best shows i've seen and I've seen Black Sabbath with Ozzy.

I took my teenage sons to see Heaven and Hell and we all enjoyed the concert. Dio, Iommi, Butler, and Appice were in prime form and performed extrememly well. With only three instruments, they produce a very full sound and entertained the crowd like the true professionals that they are. The opening act, Neurosis, was absolutely horrible and we only wished now that we would have been late to the concert. The venue is very good, with excellent view of the show and perfect for concerts.

Was an awesome show!!! Amazing. Dio is an amazing singer and the guitar player was out of this world. Had ninth row seats from the stage, and could see everything, My only complaint was staff told me to stop recording with my camera, when clearly half of everybody there had a camera. Other than that..was great. Great lighting too.

Fist band was HELL to listen to: the opening band sucked,NEUROSIS the sound man/keyboardist knocked over his own equipment.lol Then the bliss of HEAVEN: ..Heaven and Hell was awesome though..awesome..dude totally. I had tickets for Sabbaths '92 tour when they canceled, never thought I'd e get to see this line up ever again. It was like a going in a "Time Machine" back 17 years.. For 67 years of age DIO still has it..wow can he ever belt out the lyrics..Tonni's guitar the "The Old Boy" sounded great..Vinny's drum solo was flawless hope they got it on tape.Geezer's ever steady heavy riffs made my hair stand on end...the computer graphic display of their album covers was trippy...this old head while clean and sober still got a bit of a flashback buzz off them.I liked the set, very heavy metal Gothic with the large twin supporting gargoyles.. the crowd Loved to sing along ..Whoa oh oh oh ..OH oh ohooh....felt like I was in Birmingham, England at a soccer match.. The group's set list was as follows:

I think this was my 6th time seeing Tony and Geezer in concert and it was my third time seeing Dio in concert and this show didn t disappoint a bit. Despite the fact that the average age of this band is hovering around 60 years old, they put on a show that could keep up with any band of any age. The setlist was a bit short, with the show only being about 90 minutes or so but other than that it was nearly perfect. We got to our seats in the 5th row behind the pit shortly after 7:00 and Coheed and Cambria had already began to play. I wasn t familiar with them at all when I first saw that they were opening but my friend and I had listened to them a bit on myspace and youtube so we had an idea of what to expect. I had decided that they should at least be interesting to see in concert and I was right. They really put on quite and entertaining show and after having seen so many bands open over the years at Ozzfest, I must say that Coheed and Cambria was much more entertaining than many, many bands that I ve sat through. I doubt I ll ever buy any of their material or go out of my way to see them again but I m glad we got there early enough to enjoy them before Heaven and Hell hit the stage. We were very far to the right of the venue, on the side where we need Tony would be and after coming back from a bathroom break after Coheed and Cambria we discreetly slipped over and drastically improved our seats. We were just a tad closer to Tony than we were the center of the stage and overall we had an excellent view and the sound was powerful and clear. I saw Heaven and Hell on their reunion tour in 2007 and I remember that show being nearly perfect and that there was no way that this show could top it. I think this show did slightly top it, however. Everyone in the band seemed to be in an excellent mood and enjoying themselves onstage. Dio has never disappointed in any way in the three times that I ve seen him but I don t think I ve seen him genuinely enjoy himself in quite the same way that he did this time. He was full of smiles and very interactive with the crowd and his voice was just excellent. Given his age I think his energy, showmanship, and vocals were nothing short of amazing. Tony, who rarely does anything more on stage than play his guitar like a badass, actually flashed the devil horns a few times and gave the crowd a few more smirks that usual. Geezer is always a delight to watch and his bass sound was absolutely excellent. Having seen Sabbath in 99 and 01 I have to say that Geezer s tone seems to be consistently better since about 05 than it was before. It s hard to describe but it just sounds more vibrant and energetic than I recall the first two or three times I saw him live. Vinny is an absolute powerhouse and also a lot of fun to watch on stage with his giant drum set that he beats the hell out of. I enjoyed his drum solo because it was very good and fit within the shorter amount of time that I think a drum solo should take up. I missed seeing Scott Warren up on stage with his hair blowing in the wind like it was with Dio in 03 but his presence was appreciated nonetheless. I looked at the setlist in another review and I am simply pasting it here, as it seems to be accurate as far as I can remember. E5150 Mob Rules Children of the Sea I Bible Black Time Machine Vinnie's Drum Solo Fear Falling Off The Edge Of The World Follow The Tears Die Young Heaven And Hell Encore: Country Girl / Neon Knights I really wish that they would have played the full version of Country Girl as I ve been really diggin that song a lot lately. Time Machine, while also a fine song but not nearly my favorite, could have been shortened or cut to make room for a full version of Country Girl or something as far as I m concerned. The song Heaven and Hell was extremely extended and powerful. All of the songs sounded great but I actually think it was the slower songs that came through best as far as the sound goes. For example, Mob Rules did sound really good but just lacked some of the clarity and pure emotion of some of the other songs. Falling Off The Edge Of The World really stood out in my mind as a gem in this aspect and Children of the Sea was fucking fantastic as well Overall the show was really excellent and well worth the ticket price. It s kind of hard to believe but it really seems that most members of this band seem to generally be getting better each time I see them. It s like how much more better could this concert have been? Not much more better, as it was absolutely brilliant just the way it was.

Amazing opening act. Coheed & Cambria was a great opening act. They are a tight band with a technically difficult set that they played faithfully. Heaven and Hell. What can one say about these guys. True professionals. The ease and grace with which they played what for them is no doubt mostly old stuff and to do it with enthusiasm was top notch. RJD who is now 67 years old romped around the stage like a man 30 years younger. His interactions with the audience seemed genuine and appreciative just as much as we appreciated the band playing our favorites.

Last evenings performance in Atlantic City,HOB was one for posterity. The venue from the balcony was a wall of sound. This show was the last of the American leg of a 17 city tour. The stage was a simple setting,a backdrop which appeared to be a metal wall, gothic fencing on either side of the drum risers with clear "globes" a top each post. Ronnie James Dio,is the master vocalist of the heavy metal genre.Always under rate and it belies his 67 years. To witness Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler,is amazing.Geezer's fingers are a blur matching the intensity of Tony's ripping riffs.Vinny Appice's pounding of the drum set to fill in the sound was incredible.

Opening act-Hailstorm-very good, the singer is working hard , bass and guitarists are excellent-the drummer-a bit over the top but overall-good band if not for a very weak song endings.Heaven and Hell aka Black sabbath w/Dio. Amazing. You might like or dislike Appice but he did his best . Iommi and Geezer are incredible.Just watching them play is a treat.Dio-is another miracle.Comletely dwarfed by everything around him, thin and fragile, looking like a court joker-he is sending almost visible beams of singing through the crowd.Powerful and agitating singing, great voice and presense.Perfect concert with the exclusion of a lousy work of the sound engineer(guitar was overwhelming Dio most of the act). the stage view blocked by the speakers hanging on both sides of the stage(could not see Geeser till changed seats-no thanks to security stuff ), a bunch of drunks who had something to do with security-thus preventing some of us being able to watch the show(chances are security got paid under the table by letting them in and allowing to choose and change seats at will-and not allowing anybody else to do the same-ones who tried to escape this ravaging idiots)-thus- make sure if you go to this venue(make sure you will)-get seats with best view(not by using the best seats available feature)and try to avoid AC's House of Blues by all means. This is a 3rd show in my experience killed by sound technicians.Alice Cooper and Deep Purple were exterminated totally.

This is still Black Sabbath no matter what they call themselves these days. The show was great as always. They looked and sounded a little on the tired side to me. Ive seen them 4 times in the last 2 years and you could tell this was the last show on this leg of the tour. Not hearing Sign of the Southern Cross was a disappointment. And being teased with first verse of Country Girl as it let into Neon Nights sucked. Why Iommi won't play it all baffles me. Falling of the Egde of the World and Die Young more than made up for that though. Can't wait to see them again.

Tony Iommi is truely the greatest guitarist in the history of hard rock and heavy metal! Geezer Butler is a virtuoso bassist and Dio at 67 years of age sounds as good as ever. The concert his time around was only 90 minutes as opposed to the 2 hours they were doing in 2007 but there are 3 new songs from the new album in the set which makes up for it. 'Fear', 'Bible Black' and 'Follow the tears.'

One of the best shows by the masters of heavy metal, Dio, Iommi, Butler and Appice. I didnt think it was possible for these guys to get any better but they have. From the classic opening E5150/Mob Rules to the classic Heaven And Hell. These guys put on one hell of a show. The new stuff also sounded great. Made to be played live. The only way this could have been better was if they played for three hours and skipped that second rate opening act.

amazing show. Ronnie James Dio was flawless on vocals, and very confident. Tony Iommi was powerful on guitar. Jimmy Bains and Vinnie Appice fit in perfectly with the Black Sabbath sound. Ronnie's stage presence was very fluid. he moved the audience and kept things going. and, the audience stayed on its feet through their whole performance. i'd see them again, especially if it's at a similar sized venue, but with a standing room floor area

Introduced as Black Sabbath by the MC.. Heaven + Hell delivered a pedestrian effoft puntuated by Dio saying he was playing this song for the 5 millionth time, and thats how he sounded. I was thrilled by the guitar work by Iommi, but even he must have had some sound trouble as he would go back by the drummer to regroup on several occasssions The new songs were good,, but they have to go back to some of the Ozzy era songs to replace some of the energy thats missing . The ol' Felt Forum was just as I remembered it back when, kind of like a big HS audortorium. The sound is great, the lights and effects are very good, but we need more if your going to introduced as Black Sabbath.

Yep. Even better than the show I saw upstairs in '81. All members were on their game, playing with angst and enjoying themselves. Show started off a little typical, but as soon as they belted out "Falling Off the Edge of the World" the show hit a new level. Every song was played with authority, "Follow the Tears" from the new album with that awesome solo. Country Girl/Neon Knights.... Ripping. Tony's guitar playing is amazing... Geezer and Tony during that fast jam... WOW. Geezer is the most underestimated bass player in rock and roll. Ronnie was amazing. Seriously.

What an amazing evening. For myself it was a walk through memory lane, revisiting the same line up i saw at the Birmingham Odean, UK back in 1980 on the original Heaven and Hell tour. For my wife, it was new experience. Disturbed last April and now Sabbath! She loved it. Ronnie was in fine voice, Geezer was strumming good, Vinnie was a blast and Tony was excellent as always. The only thing that marred the evening for me and why i have dropped a star was the sound. Tony was distorted way too much and tended to drown out Geezer and Ronnie. I am sure this was not the intention, as Coheed & Cambria, who were excellent in support by the way, sounded great, well balanced! First time i have heard Coheed & Cambria and i was very impressed. I will have to get some of their music!

The H&H show was fantastic!! The lead singer still "has it" and more despite the passage of time. I knew I was going to enjoy the show but I was wowed at their talent. The drummer was great as was the rest of the band. I would definitely go to another H&H performance. Rock on!!!!!

1. Ronnie James Dio is 67. Holy cow. 2. They managed a full set with only Dio-era Sabbath material and no one complained. Impressive. 3. Tony Iommi is a Rock God...

I too young when Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio was recording and touring, this show fulfilled my teen hunger to see them. Geezer Butler's bass play was on queue and he proves to be one of the pioneer bassists in rock. Vinnie Appice amazed me with his drum solo, he certainly has a lot of energy. Tony Iommi is a rock genius and his guitar play was awe inspiring. His guitar play sounded awesome! Ronnie James Dio's vocal range is off the charts. It was amazing to see the chemistry and spark with the group. They have toured all summer and this 23 Aug 09 show sounded as if they just started the tour. Pure awesomeness! Can't wait to see them again!

I have been a fan of Black Sabbath/Heaven & Hell/Ozzy Osbourne for close to 30 years and have attended the concerts since the 1980's and the 2009 Heaven & Hell tour is one of the best. Dio is a great showman for the band and Tony Iommi is one of the greatest guitarests especially during the leads. They mainly play songs Mob Rules, Heaven & Hell and Humanizer albums which are some of their best songs. Don't miss the show!

I'll be short and sweet and just say I was totally satisfied with the show being in the front row and all. I think Dio sounds great to be the age that he is. Tony and Geezer solid as always. Vinny's drum set is just nuts and nothing less than expected from him. Stage setup was cool with the gargoyles and everything. Nothing beats awesome seats for an awesome band.

I'd been looking forward to this show for a long time. I'm not likely to ever see an Ozzy-led Black Sabbath come my way at this rate, and I think I would rather see Dio take the Sabbath crew out on the road anyways. Let's just say they nailed it last night. They hit all the classics you'd want to hear from Dio-era Sabbath (except maybe "Sign of the Southern Cross") and a couple songs from their new album with the intensity you would have expected from them two decades ago. Don't let anyone tell you they're too old to rock. This was the loudest concert I'd been to in ages! Dio's voice still sounds great, Iommi and Butler are legendary, and even Appice was fantastic on the skins! Mad props to the venue too. Not too expensive for spectacular seats front and center. My eardrums are gonna be ringing for a week! The supporting act was Coheed & Cambria, as well as a local band called Superunkown before them. Superunkown was alright, but C&C were great. I don't know much of their material, but they get the two thumbs up for sure!

Ronnie, Tony, Geez, and Vinnie are simply legends when it comes to songwriting and performing. I feel so lucky and blessed to have seen them Live a few times and I will always see them any chance I get. The show was absolutely fantastic, the sound mixing was crystal clear with no distortion, the stage design was very creative, Ronnie's voice sounds amazing, Tony's guitar playing stands above all today's mainstream bands put together. The new album is a mind-blowing masterpiece and all the new songs translated so well into the Live performance. This concert will not be forgotten.

This guys rocks...on this age after so many years on the road...this rocky road of rock..they are just amazing, Dio doesn't change a bit, still have this lether lungs and he just show his soft side play with the fans shacking hands and hi5 with the front rows, just very nice, I left the venue very sad ...the concert was so nice i didn't want to end at all, and Tommy, Geezer and Vinnie are just the right members of this band...I would say they all four are made for each other. I will go watch them anytime they come close to me. Thank you NEAVEN AND HELL !!!

Dio is a real singer and showed it for this show. The band played most of the songs off the Heaven and Hell album. Just what i went to the show to hear. Had the real lineup from Sabbath. Stage was adequate for a smaller venue.

I enjoyed the show. A few fans a little over the top with enthusiasm... (and or mind altering substances) but it was great.... To see these veterans of rock and roll in such a small venue was awesome.... I thought I heard Ronnie say it was the last show of the tour...If so......I hope to see them come around again next year..... The band was tight....Geezer was awesome.....Ronnie was SUPER as always....what a powerhouse vocal........Vinnie and Tony !!!!!!!!........I really enjoyed being so close to these giants of metal.......

As a treat to my husband, a long time fan, I bought us tickets and a night in NYC. Managed to get 12th row front and center at WaMu. Show was fantastic! Dio actually speaks to the crowd, which seems like after going to other shows lately, is a rarity! Sound was great (What . . .? Maybe lost some hearing, but clarity was there). Would gladly go again to see them again. Great Performers who appreciate their fans and give a great show.

The venue, The House of Blues, is excellent for an intimate concert setting. Small enough that there is no "nose-bleed seating", big enough to generate energy in the crowd. Other than that, what could you possibly say about H&H: Dio, Iommi, Geezer and Vince? They're utter legends, and the show was outstanding in all respects; visual, audio, effects. I did have a teensy hope that Dio might do Holy Diver or something, but that was not a disappointment.

Heaven and Hell was an amazing show! Dio's voice couldn't of sounded better, reaching every note to perfection and pitch. Dio, Geezer, Tony, and Vinny, eached made their presence felt and heard, Live and Loud, Heavy and Hard more than most of us could of ever imagined! Phenomenal show which proves that they're still the Veteran Metal Gods they've always been and always will be! Sabbath will always reign as a crowd pleaser throughout the generatons. Yes, our favorites are getting older but these guys can still rock. Also, judging by the smiles on the band members faces they are really enjoying themsleves. Saw H+H at House of Blues in AC. Great venue. Kind of a weird audience as I think some of the folks there used their Casino comps to see a show so it was not a pure audience but thats ok. Maybe some new fans were made.

The House of Blues is the best place I've been to in a vey long time to see a rock concert. (This was my first visit to the venue.) Heaven and Hell (aka Black Sabbath) as Ronnie put it - "You know who we really are" and Halestorm both gave unbelievable performances. I hope this will be Lizzie Hale and company's big break as they provided the audience with a show that displayed their over the top young rock talent that is second to none. And then, what can I say for Heaven and Hell except that the audience truely witnessed rock gods doing what they have done best for over 40 years - kick-ass heavy metal that brings you to your knees. Ronnie James Dio and Tony Iommi have never sounded better. For me, the entire show was an experience I will never forget. The House of Blues in Atlantic City is absolutely a perfect place to see a show like this. The stage is huge and everyone attending can get the feeling of being right in front of the performers. I will definitly be back for another show very soon.

the opening act -coheed and cambria (sp) were close to horrible. They only pumped up the audience when they played a cover of iron maiden. Black Sabbath- hmmm what to say. Short set list, mostly newer music with a few songs from heaven and hell album. Still a great band to listen to - great voice, good guitarist. But seeing how old the band is makes you want them to stop and rest. Not the worst show I've been to but definitely not worth the ticket price.

I went as much for Coheed as to see Ronnie James Dio fronting Heaven & Hell. And neither band disappointed. Coheed belted out some of their rockingest tunes, even cutting into The Trooper from Iron Maiden, which was a wise choice as many Heaven & Hell fans are Maiden fans too. Given a little more time, Coheed could have snuck in A Favor House Atlantic or Feathers, but ending on The Final Cut was fitting and the trade off between Claudio on a Theramin (first time I'd seen one used) and Travis on his talk box was awesome. And RJD shows why he is the best man to front Sabbath, even if they call themselves Heaven &Hell. He can still hit all the notes and draw the audience in. The drawn out Heaven and Hell song killed with the extensive Iommi solo. The only thing possibly lacking was not having them do Lady Evil. Other than that it was flawless.

Coheed and Cambria were surprisingly hard hitting as an opener, including a nice Iron Maiden cover in their set. Heaven and Hell were as loud, dark and heavy as you could have wanted. Iommi's guitar playing has never been better; Butler stole the show in some respects with his intense layering, Appice was a caveman drummer thrashing around in his drum cage (360 degree drumset...), and Dio was... well, Dio!

What a pleasure to see these Rock Gods still bringing it. Dio's voice was amazing, Tony shredded, and Geezer and Appice kept it all chugging along like a locomtive. I was surprised at how good Dio's voice still was. Although he started out with pretty low range, by the end he was really belting out the high notes. Smart dude to keep his reserve and warm up with the lower ranges first. Great heavy riffs from Iommi, and Appice's drum solo was a ton of fun!

Iommi and Butler sounded great. Dio for his age is good but his vocals do not cut through the guitar and bass, unless he is singing solo. Some of the new songs like Bible Black and Follow the Tears in my opinion are crap, BORING. I love Ronnie James Dio,a nd his vocals were excellent, and the band was in top form. I have heard that Tommy Iommi has chronic, and severe hand problems (he has had surgery before) and needs surgery again. I wonder if this was the reason for such a short set? The played for total of only 1 hr 40 minutes; this included drum, guitar solos, and break for the encore. I felt a little cheated by the shortened concert, and really did not like the opening band Coheed and Cambria at all. They stretched the song Heaven and Hell into an almost 20 min. song with extended solos and all. They could have played more songs instead of doing that. Overall, there performance was very good. I had issues with shortened set, and very extended solos.

The solid bass of Geezer Butler, the hard hitting drums of Vinny Appice, the heavy guitar work of Tony Iommi. And of course, the powerful voice and classy and elegant presence of Ronnie James Dio. An amazing set list, and a great extended production of their title track, Heaven and Hell. The only thing I didn't like was that it was too short. 1.5 hours did not sitisfy me, but it was still worth it. Also, Eddie and Don from That Metal Show were great at introducing.
