I wasn't familiar with the opening act Dragonette, but she was pretty energetic and got the crowd hyped. When the Presets came on they kept the energy and were simply great the entire time.

Dragonette was really fun. I wish they were on longer. The Presets tore the house down. Everyone was dancing. It was beautiful. The staff at this venue is always friendly and polite and the restrooms always clean.

they did play a lot of the new stuff, but it was almost like a 'remix' concert. the arrangements of most of the songs were totally different. i'm not a fan of the new stuff, and they didn't play their well known songs from the last 2 albums. the energy of the crowd was great though, that helped the over all experience, but i've seen them about 5 times now and this was my least favorite show of theirs.

Presets were awesome. Too bad they have to split their time as much as they do with another band. Would like a 20-song set for a headliner. Dragonette were pretty good. It's rough when you jump all over the place, but have to play in front other another bands gear. The biggest downside is the choice of concert date. Memorial weekend Friday was a bad choice.

Jeremy LOL, the opening DJ set, started out very interesting but fizzled out toward the end. Not inclined to rush out for his material on SoundCloud although there's potential there. Dragonette was the opener and good enough we bought all 4 CDs at the merch stand (we'd have saved money online, but we like to support the artists and the venues). We were disappointed they didn't have the single for Hello (with Martin Solveig) on offer, but after reading the review of the single release (radio edit not full version), it's not much of a loss. The show was outstanding and we were glad to catch the band as this was their last performance on this tour! She seemed a bit tentative when she started the set, but as the audience began to respond, she got into the swing of it all and by the end of the almost one-hour set was rocking really hard. The band would be worth seeing as a headliner, so we were glad they had such a long set. The Presets rarely disappoint and this show was no exception. The last time we saw them was at Mezzanine opening for Human League and doing material from their first album. This time they were headlining with material from three albums and it's obvious why they got a headlining gig at a large venue like the Fox Oakland. They were tight, had a great light show and didn't slow down for a minute. Unlike many bands, they didn't stop for a breather between songs, but played almost solid for an hour - like an extended DJ set of all their own material which really had the audience hopping! I think everyone was surprised when it ended as the time had flown by so quickly: truly an amazing piece of musician- and showmanship! This was a show worth seeing so anyone who has the chance to see them on the rest of this tour shouldn't miss them!

My only regret was that I didn't get there early enough to catch Classixx, but I heard they were outstanding too. Both groups - Dragonette and the Presets delivered amazing 110% performances. Great venue with a fantastic sound system and first class lighting rig.

Dragonette was fun and The Presets made everyone dance. Also, terminal 5 is a nice venue even though it was hard to find with google maps. Had an awesome time!

We danced. We danced til we were dripping, and kept dancing even when we couldn't dance anymore. Dragonette were the perfect openers, getting the crowd warmed up for the Presets - a live show that does exactly what a live show is supposed to do, namely, be a million times better than the band would ever be recorded. Listening to the Presets' for years doesn't come close to the energy and improvisation they bring to their live shows. Whether it was the crowd-friendly hits from the new album like Ghosts and Youth in Trouble or the classics like My People and Talk Like That, it was an actual can't-stop-dancing moment. Sad that they'll be growing out of T5 for their next show, which will be... where? You can't dance like this in Madison Square Garden!

Heard of the Presets from a friend before coachella 2011 and loved what I heard. Unfourtunately they were scheduled against Kanye, so this was my first chance to see them. I had heard mediocre reviews about Club Nokia so I was somewhat leery on the venue. Turns out its very nice but the ticketing is pretty ridiculous. To get to the floor or the front of the balcony you need special tickets, which I find pretty ridiculous for a GA show. I'd avoid it if possible but not bad enough I would never go again. As for the Presets, it was a non stop dance party. From start to finish they had everyone in the venue going crazy. If you even remotely enjoy thier music I would implore you to attend a show. Old staples like My People, Are You the One? and Talk Like That are given a fresh take and newer songs like Ghosts and Promises which I found a little flat on the album absolutely come to life. There is a 6 song stretch in the middle of the set that is just mind blowing. TL:DR, Presets are amazing, wear comfortable shoes because for almost 2 hours you will be dancing non stop.

PreSets have been my absolute fav since experiencing them in downtown los angeles 4 years ago...remember so well as I came from an Obama fundraiser. Streets were closed off, arrived and met up with Virgin HQ alumni and danced on the streets of la. Saw them again in Boston, super small venue and they were amazing once again. Had the best time when they performed at Club Nokia about a year ago...truly perfect venue with sound, lights and space. This time they were amazing...HOWEVER...the 2 pre-shows were exhausting! The music was not that good AND by the time PreSets staged, the crowd was sloppy drunk, all in costume for Halloween and truly a mess! Our shoes were sticking to the floor, and hammered peeps every where. Now we can't cast judgment as all were bored waiting for the PreSets. Please, for future gigs, 1 opener with a contemporary musical repertoire.

I have tried to see the Presets since 2008-2009. I had to make the painstaking decision to skip them for the legendary Paul McCartney at Coachella. Then I missed Coachella 2011 entirely. So I wasn't going to miss them when I heard they were coming around to promote their new album. I had tickets for their Fox Theater show in Pomona, and it actually got CANCELED which was just another stumbling block in my efforts to see the Presets. I had a Halloween party the night of the Club Nokia show but I made it all work by attending the party early and leaving with plenty of time to allow driving from Orange County, parking, etc. I was lucky enough to snag a pit ticket and it really wasn't terribly crowded so I was able to get a good spot, second row back on the left. The drinks were super expensive ($14 for a beer?) but whatever...a couple DJ's (Flight Facilities?) were wrapping up when i arrived and it was quite a party. Very Coachella-esque vibe with all the costumes. Anyway the actual show was great. Fantastic lights, they played pretty much everything I wanted to hear. One particular highlight was "Fall" a new song I completely forgot about. It was also cool seeing how they pulled off the music live, especially the live drumming. So a fair amount was pre-recorded but to me it doesn't matter in this context. The vibe was great.

The show was amazing. Three different DJs opened and it was great. The whole vibe was awesome. But when The Presets came in, the crowd went crazy! I don't have words to explain how awesome the show was. I'm just waiting for them to make another tour to the US. I'm going for sure.

The music was good. The angry looking bouncers and not being able to get to the pit sucked.

It's like they didn't even care to be there. Enthusiastic, annoying crowd. They ruined their classics with live drums and a speaking/singing vocal performance. Oh, and I thought they might be able to make the songs from Pacifica stand out more than they do on the album, and they even managed to suck the life out of those. I've never walked out of a show before, and my boyfriend, friend and I couldn't make it through this one. It was absolutely dreadful.

Seriously amazing, the best show I have ever been to. I cannot remember the entire setlist, but they played nearly every song from Apocalypso and Pacifica as well as The Girl and the Sea and Are You the One?. I would go again in a heartbeat.

have been waiting for the presets to come to the us since coachella 2009... and once again, i can't wait for them to come back to the states (hope i won't have to wait 2 years again)... #1perfomance of the week! it has to say something when your set is 11:30pm on the VERY LAST DAY of a 3-Day Music Festival, and the tent is absolutely PACKED and full of energy. I was so tired from the weekend, and i don't think i could have danced harder. Presets ROCKED the whole set! They are true musicians! thank you for all you do boys! SOUTHERN CALI LOVES YOU!

Sadly, the fellas looked a little tired, especially the drummer. Maybe they were dialing it in to save money for their imminent Coachella performance. Also, why don't they ever play "Girl and the Sea?"
