I liked the story line and Jay was great on the power songs. Jay wasn't as good as Jay Black on the high notes. It was a fun evening. The band was FANTASTIC!!!

Pros: - weaved great personal stories in with the music - performed covers of other famous hits. Very nostalgic - saved my personal favorite song for last - stayed in lobby after the concert to talk to us. Cons: - wish it was longer (8:00-9:45) - Jay #3 had a good voice but I wish it was Jay Black I

Entertaining evening. Good music. Talented performers. Amazing stamina ... These guys sang for nearly an hour and half without an intermission. Listening to the music of our youth, enjoying a show with clean entertainment (no vulgarity, profanity) made for a great evening. Hope these gentlemen will continue to bring music into our lives for a long time

Jay and the Americans performed all of their hits with energy. We thoroughly enjoyed the show, and it went by way too fast! The lead singer hit every note, and each member was showcased as well. I recommend the show and will be sure not to miss it if they come back to town.

Those guys still got it. I look forward to seeing them at BB King's every year. I'm am still totally amazed when Jay Reincke or Jay III opens his mouth to sing. Howie is Still the Chick Magnet, and Sandy just blows you away with his vocals. Marty is just super talented, and I love his expressions and everything he gives up on stage. The USA Band really jamz. I would have loved to have heard them do an opening song or two, I love watching Bassman Billy C do his thing

One of the best shows I have seen in many years. Great music, great vocals and really enjoyed the history of the group during the show. At the meet and greet after the show the guys were really suprised that my 18 year old granddaughter knew all the songs and lyrics. She has been listening to them through me since she was 7. We will be attending the show in Las vegas on March 1,2014 for sure!!

Couldn't say more about the most wonderfully uplifting concert we attended of Jay and the Americans! My friends and were entertained all evening by just the right combination of favorite songs and humor throughout the night! It was especially nice to hear some background information about the group intermixed with the music!

I had not been to a concert for quite a while and had never been to this venue for anything in the past. The show tremendous and was pleasantly surprised to hear the voices still resembled the ones that I remembered from the past. All in all a great time and would like to add that there isn't a bad seat in the house.

I had the time of my life when I attended the performance of Jay & The Americans, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Dennis Tufano and The Cyrkle. This evenings show brought back many sweet memories. I could still remember the words to most songs. The performers didn't miss a beat. They still have it ! All are so very talented. Thank you fellows! This is a evening to be remembered!

It was an incredible show. Blew my expectations away which were pretty high already. Gary Lewis was excellent as was Dennis Tufano of the Buckinghams. Dennis was incredibly professional and what a voice. His backup band made the songs he did sound just like the original recordings and in many ways even better. But Jay and the Americans who played last blew them all away. I had not seen them before but now wish I had as they had fun with the show and everyone of them sounded great. I had seen Gary Lewis and Dennis before and they did not disappoint this time either. The Cyrcle were good but the vocals were only okay not great. They probably will get better as it sounded like they have only recently got back together. But they were very gracious and said how much fun they were having playing together again. It was still great to have them there. I hope we get to have many more of these shows in Chandler. The promoter did a great job announcing the groups. I thank him for putting this tour together. What a great time it was!

Jay & the Americans were fabulous. The new Jay is absolutely awesome. It was worth the wait till the end to hear them....The singer (from the Buckinghams) was a great voice and performer after the first 2 acts. The Circles (never heard of them!), probably wouldn t attend any more of their performances as Gary Lewis & the Playboys. They were just okay..... All in all, a good show, but too long, especially with the first 2 acts. Thanks

This was one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time. Gary Lewis and the playboys were great. I didn t know they were singing at this show. And the lead singer of the Buckinghams was fantastic. Plus who would have thought I would see the original group that sang Red Rubber Ball. Then the night ended with Jay and The Americans. They were great, sang all the hits plus more. They are old but still sound great! I would go again next year if they are in Arizona. If you get a chance to see this show it is a must see.

Overall, a great show. Good to see the Cyrkle back together after all these years. Gary Lewis' vocals were a little harsh at times without his original backup group to harmonize but still put on a great show. Dennis Tufano former lead singer of the Buckinghams, was great, sounding just like he used to and putting on a great show. Jay & the Americans set was very entertaining. The "new" Jay has a great voice and sounded much like the original Jay, although he lacked the original's range on "Cara Mia." It was a very entertaining evening and we would definitely see them again. We signed up for the promoter's email list to be notified when there would be similar shows in our area.

Jay & The Americans at Penn's Peak on 3/23/18 were great...they had the house jumping and I would see them again. I have attended concerts where Jay Black (Jay#2) was the performer without any of the other group members, and he was sensational. I believe he has stopped touring due to health reasons. No mention of him is made in this show. The reason for this review is two part. The second part is regarding the seats. Both seats purchased (Section RS4 / Seats 53-54) have a major 12x12 inch post obstruction which causes a limited view of the stage. No where in the ticket ordering process was this mentioned, nor is it seen anywhere on Penn's Peak website. If the cost of my seats were the same as those in front of the post where there is no obstruction, then I will feel cheated.

The Duprees were the stars of the show. They were wonderful. The Marcels were a great opening act; their medley of ballads was well done. Vito and the Elegants did a good job as well. Their humor was strong. The Crystals were the weak link but still OK. Jay #3 could not hit the high notes that Jay Black made famous but, still, Jay and the Americans were strong as well. Overall, this show was well worth attending.

I have gone to just about every "DOO WOPP" event sponsored by the promoters of this event and this was one of the best shows ever. The auditorium was packed proving the baby boomers who grew up in the early days of rock and roll are still around in sufficient numbers to fill the place up if indeed the promoters understand they are looking for pre-Brittish invasion good old rock and roll venues, especially doo wopp! For sure because of aging these early rock acts are now harder and harder to find but I hope the promoters see there are still plenty of us out there waiting for more of "THESE" kind of acts (not like the last show which was half empty because there was only one good act - Gary Lewis.

The group sang all their 60's hits plus hits from other groups with which they toured. Jay #3 provides the voice you remember from the original songs. My wife and myself drove at least 3 hours to the concert and it was well worth the Atlanta traffic to see the show. These older groups are hard to find. When we have a chance to see the older groups we usually go. We need to expose our children to the older groups. The songs they sing have words and meanings unlike the songs today. We enjoyed the show very much and I rated the show 5 stars.

If you've followed Jay and the Americans over the years, you'd know more than I did coming into this show. My fond memories of the group are rooted in the brilliant vocals of Jay Black, and he's LONG GONE from this incarnation. The current "Jay" was offkey throughout their set, and I felt that this was more a 'tribute act' than The Real Deal. The lesson I've now learned is that, before laying down my money for an act from the Nostalgia Circuit, I need to do some research first as far as who IS and IS NOT still in the act.

I have seen Jay and the Americans a few times this year because they are a class act! Love their music and the way they seem to love working with each other. Jay sings with his powerful, beautiful voice and the other Americans have great voices too. There is so much talent on that stage!!! I also love how they joke with each other. Unfortunately, I can't say much for the first group that played that night, The Reflections. I usually, have enjoyed other groups that play with Jay and the Americans.

This show, opened by The Classics 4, was a great trip down memory lane. With my eyes closed, it reminded me of my younger {much} days. My husband and I traveled 4 hours each way, to see one of my very favorite groups from my early teen years. Though most people were probably there to see Jay and the Americans, as they were the headliners, we went to see the Classics IV. We see many, many concerts each year, but the Classics IV have been difficult to track down. Unfortunately, we was sooooo disappointed at there length of time on stage. They only played for about 20 minutes at most. They sounded great and there was so much more they could have done. Why?? The concert was good, just disappointing for all the Classics IV fans in the audience.

Wonderful performances by both groups (Jay and the Americans, and Paul Revere's Raiders). True professionals who appreciate their fans and give them what they want (and more). We were fortunate enough to get two second row tickets to Jay and the Americans on Friday evening at The Cannery. The venue is smaller yet still plenty of people in the audience. It made for more of an intimate setting which is the way I like to see my favorite groups. The show started right on time and they didn't waste anytime at all getting going right at 8 PM. They performed for just over an hour and twenty minutes and I think I enjoyed every single minute. I know all their songs and found myself singing along to each one that was performed. This group has such a long and interesting history and they have performed, written and worked with the best in the business. Their tribute to Roy Orbison was truly memorable. Overall, I simply loved every single song that was performed. I would see them again in a heartbeat.

What a great night. The Bergen PAC is a nice venue -- seemed nearly sold out -- sightlines were good even from the side aisles seats. Late seating was timed well. I wish there was a program insert to list the groups - would have been a nice touch. The lineup was good and the 15 minute (ish) set times were great -- and happy to have a 45 minute JAY and THE AMERICANs Set to close the evening. I'm more 60s/70s than 50s/60s but most of the songs were familiar. The bands sounded great and it was so good to hear such wonderful vocal tones from the groups after a lot of years!!!! Very entertaining banter from each group -- made it feel like a very personal evening. I have an entertainment background so my technical comments would be ...too much red on the backdrop; loved the aisle entrance but without a spotlight, it's a shame the PAC could not put a special on the Classics lead singer; band was too loud over the singers from time to time so vocal lead was hard to hear; the intermission track was SO LOUD -- people are trying to chat about "Act 1" and you had to scream to talk to your neighbor.

The group was very good, sang lots of wonderful hits of theirs and others. The "new" Jay is a very talented singer, but cannot compare with Jay Black on the high notes. We enjoyed the show and for the price we would recommend it. However, I can't believe these events are held in a tent with noisey fans running during the performance. Come on Meadows, build a venue for the entertainers. Also the seats were a joke. Cheap plastic chairs that were chained together. Very uncomfortable. I would go and see Jay and the Americans again, but not if I had to sit on those chairs.

Loved the concert. Jay and the Americans did an extremely entertaining show. Would recommend it to anyone who loves their music. They sang for an hour and a half which included their top ten hits, as well as, songs from Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney, Ronnie Spector and the Drifters. The location and free parking are easy and convenient and you can't beat the price. Hope to attend many more events at the Meadows.

Hubby and I are doing a summer of concerts. So far in 2 months we r up to 6 and counting. To say Jay and the Americans was fantastic is an understatement. There was the music and the stories that made this one of the best concerts we have attended. All four stayed at their products table to talk and shake hands with their fans. That was a first for us. If you get a chance to go to one of their events don't miss it. You will have a great evening.

The four musicians, three from the original group, provided an enjoyable 75 minutes of great hits from the 1960's. All of the Jay and the Americans hits were included along with songs made famous by the Drifters, Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond, and others. The five backup band members were all excellent musicians.

Was thrilled with Jay #3 and of course the fantastic Americans! The show was nostalgic with high energy! Their voices were great and Jay showed range reminding us boomers of our younger years! Loved it!

We were under the impression that Jay Black would be at the show. Unfortunately and to our disappointment he was not.The lead singer although good was not what we thought we were paying for.

Greta performance, once we left our lousy seats and stood in the back of theater to watch. Still having a hard time believing they actually charge money for the seats we were in to look at a blue curtain.

Excellent show - Jay & The Americans outstanding, Dennis Tufano (Buckinghams), Shirley Alston Reeves (Shirelles) and Charlie Thomas (Drifters) also great. This was a 5-Star show - I'd pay to see again.

This show was very much spoiled by allowing people to photograph during the show. Thus you have 6 to 20 screens suddenly appearing and illuminated while you try to watch the performance. Crowd control is key to a good show and usually the Hippodrome ushers enforce the no-photo thing very well. Not this time!

Too much creative license on most songs. People wanna hear "the song" they fell in love with. The "acts" had maybe one of the original members (as was expected), not much variety in the acts (Shirelles, Drifters, Jay and the Americans, and some opening act I've never even heard of) most of the songs weren't even memorable. Not sure if this was due to copyrights or whatever. I LOVE live music and I love the oldies, but I found myself falling asleep and wishing it were over halfway thru show. If you aren't an ULTRA FAN of the above acts....this show is not recommended...

This concert was a Mother's Day gift for my mom. We had a good time and the venue was fine. We did get to our seats after it started because of conflicting info on start time vs doors open time. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable evening.

Loved all 5 acts. I have seen every one of these acts over the years and they are still very entertaining. The best thing is that they sing their hits the way they were originally recorded. I have also now heard all 3 Jays and the newest did a very good job--and not many guys can sing like Jay Black or Jay Traynor. Even if they they had done a mediocre job i still would have loved the show because the music is to great. It just never gets old for me.

I was a little disappointed when they started singing songs by Roy Orbison instead of their own hits, but the lead singer did a good job sounding like Roy. Definitely worth the money and time.

The Vogues were old, but timeless. I don't know the names of the singers, but the oldest guy, that sings base, is losing his voice. He still gave it his all, and the harmony was still almost spot on. We truly enjoyed their music more than Jay and the Americans. Jay #3 is too nasally for me, and struggled with many songs to stay in tune. My wife enjoyed him though, so it is all good. I enjoyed the show immensely, and don't mean to be picky. It is just my nature. Sorry! Jay, don't dye your hair. Suck it up and go natural, like all men should. It looks hideous. Overall, a great night. I would go again.
