B-Live had a great concept and a good selection of artists, so I was thoroughly surprised when it didn't deliver a memorable night. Ps. Seriously, no one drinks Bacardi anymore. The artist lineup was a perfect blend of newer fresh acts (Major Lazer), solid indie (Matt & Kim), and slightly dated but still fun last-year freshness (Thunderheist). Although I knew and have (at different times) been into all of the djs spinning between live acts, I can't say that one of them performed anything close to a memorable set. All sets were decent, but not worth showing up for themselves. So although the makings were there, it ended up being a very blah night. Their kitschy coin/merch giveaway was fun, mostly because we got bags of quarter-sized fake bacardi money, so many of the coins that I'm still messing with people by leaving them laying around. The gross drink offerings (2 choices: mixed rum or mojitos) didn't help the vibe even though they were cheaper ($6.50). To their credit, they did have a fresh fruit smoothie drink bar as well, but there's pretty much no way waiting in an hour long line for a single drink seems like fun. Sidetrack: remember the 80s style commericals they had a few years ago that were awesome? To back me up on this, we'll turn to the Thunderheist: when Isis asked for a drink, and almost choked on stage - because Bacardi is Gross (notice the capital G). It was nice seeing the House of Blues return to it's Avalon/superclub roots hosting a night of music & hopefully this happens more in the future.

The lead singer of the first act, Thunderheist, had some good energy and played around with the thin crowds. Matt and Kim played a fantastic set, such intensity and overflowing with cheer and ecstasy. A-Trak's set was great. Major Diplo was a disappointment, it just seemed like a contrived act. I respect Diplo and Scratch's production skills, but this just seemed thrown together and lacking in both depth and excitement. However, most of the show involved pretty boring DJ acts between these sets (and I'm somebody who loves a good DJ set.). If it weren't for Matt and Kim, this would have been a big disappointment.

Awesome show! A lot of fun. I danced my face off and enjoyed every minute of it. Although I understand Bacardi hosted the show, a little variety in drinks would have been preferred but otherwise I had an awesome time!!!

With the amount you got out of $10, the surprise acts, and just the scene in general was a just a great place to be! The token idea was great...I left with a bag, key chain, necklace, 3 shirts...and random other things..along with inventing my own drink...wow. Not to mention all the acts were fantastic. Please do B-Live more often!

Fantastic time hosted by Bacardi. Great free gifts. I especially loved the choice of what we wanted. Well designed interior and I thought the boombox background was a nice touch. The bar left me wanting though. Drink selection was very limited and would have liked more drinks with bacardi in it besides mojito's and bacardi and cokes. The show itself was great. Lots of good talent and Matt and Kim were amazing.
