When you go to a Mariachi show.. you expect to see different Mariachi bands play right? Well apparently not in this event. Most of the time it was like a talent show! Even the producer was performing! Very disappointed over this event. I will definitely not return back for this even come the end of 2013. The Mariachi was just standing there with a cheesy background . The performance wasn't really much of a performance. They didn't even move around or anything and there were a lot of unknown artists. Not worth the money spent.

The Mariachi bands were fantastic. It was wonderful to hear our favorite Christmas songs to Mariachi music. However, the "North Pole" skit was not very funny and it took away from the reason we were there, to enjoy our music. Also, there were too many English Christmas songs at the expense of less Spanish ones. Please inlcude more of the Spanish songs next year. The young girls singing with the Mariachi were not good at all! I would rather hear more of the professional acts. Overall I enjoyed it but would want to see those changes made. The focus is Mariachi music for Christmas so lets actually hear more Mariachi music. Finally, the show is very short so there so the intermision made it ever shorter. There was no need for it. Please play "El Burrito Sabanero," next time, it's a Christmas classic!

I will not recommend it to a friend. When I heard the title: Mariachi USA Christmas, I believed it was going to be a festival with "el mariachi" representing our Mexican culture. Personally, I thought it was boring. The mariachis only played what seemed a small fraction of the time. It wasn't very organized. It was somewhat confusing when the performers took turns coming and going. Sometimes, it felt like even the mariachi musicians were confused. It seemed like at times that they didn' tknow who was going to come in next. I expected more. I personally think they charged too much money for the tickets as well. $85.00 per ticket was not worth it.

The show was very good, all the Mariachi's were great! Loved the Christmas skits! The only problem with this show is that it was much too short; not enough traditional Mariachi music played - - however the Christmas music was great!! The singers were very good; just would have loved at least another hour, and more traditional Mariachi music. Another complaint I have is that I accidently purchased sits in the "Pit" section when I intended to purchase tickets in the Orchestra Section. The Pit section is very definitely not worth the price of each sit at the Nokia Theater.

It started a bit late but all the performers were excellent. My parents enjoyed an evening out listening to songs that they grew up listening to. They very much enjoyed it.

I enjoy Mariachi music, but wasn't sure about Christmas program. However, it was very entertaining and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I have seen many Christmas musical bowls in Australia and the west, but this was well put together and Mariachi style spin made it all the more entertaining. It had segments for all ages and fun stuff even though I do not speak spanish. However, few English statements and songs made it all the more enjoyable for us. I especially loved the Christmas Carols that I always heard in a traditional western style, but these were definitely Mariachi flavour and spin. A great show and would love to see it again. :) It was a great birthday present to me!! :)) The venue was great and screens very clear which made it all the better for those who are seated further back from the stage. Merry christmas to all and a Happy New Year 2013!!!

just purchased my tickets for this years show at nokia .. we (my whole family) were there last year some for the first time and let me tell you it was GREAT! I think this show not only has something for us spanish speaking people but also for non spanish speaking people ( i actually saw many gringos at the show) which is great because it draws many cultures together. The music, story was spot on (and funny) and not only involved adult performers but also kids (which is what xmas is all about) The show was both traditional and modern and that made it appealing for all (we all loved it) The Nokia is the perfect venue for this and any show, great seating layout and sound and its a a great location to make a day or evening out of the show .... I highly recommend this for all families

This wonderful show was an amazing bi-lingual journey right through the heart of Christmas!! I couldn't get over the gorgeous set with 40-foot REAL Christmas trees, the amazing sleigh, & the beautiful lights!!! I love mariachi music and am a huge fan of music events that are actual shows instead of just concerts. The costumes and trajes were all stunning!!! There was story telling, video, on stage interaction & audience engagement- truly a WONDERFUL experience. I think what impresses me most is the level of talent that Miss Rodri finds to include in both this show as well as at the summer production at the Hollywood Bowl. It's incredible to see these mariachi artists break the stereotypes of "easy" music with "only 3 or 4 chords" and WOW the crowd with intricate arrangements. I loved hearing all the beautiful renditions and Latin twists on what is normally considered traditional English/American Christmas music. I absolutely recommend to EVERYONE who is considering it to attend this innovative show. I can't wait to go back!!!

I've been to way BETTER Mariachi USA concerts. Very disappointed that the primary focus was Santa rather than something more traditionally Hispanic, like Las Posadas, or something along those lines. Only 2 Mariachi groups was a bit of a letdown, even though Sol De Mexico is always great, could have stood another top notch group actually from Mexico, not the USA. I could not believe that the other female artist only sang 1 song & it was in English to boot! Way too much Audrey, not enough Mariachi!!! I attended the very 1st and several more that I'll remember for a long time to come, this one I've already tried to forget!!

I purchased these tickets for my wife's birthday as she is a big fan of mariachi music. I have to say, I enjoyed it as much as she did. The show is in both Spanish and English so no one will feel left out. There was traditional music, holiday music, versions of pop/rock classics and comedy comprising the show. Truly - something for everyone. We will be back next year!

Three of us attended and we were all disappointed. The Master of Ceremony always spoke in English and half of the songs were in English. We expected a lot more mariachi music and in Spanish. We know that it was a Christmas show, but there are many Christmas songs in Spanish that could have been sung.

The mariachis were great but they needed to play more music and less talk from the emcee. She did not appear to have rehearsed. If it was supposed to be spontaneous, it did not work. Plus she should definitely not sing. This was not about her, it was supposed to be a Mariachi Christmas. If she sang better, maybe, but she does not.

It really bothered me that the host spoke English 90% of the time! I paid to listen to authentic mexican mariachi christmas music. I was waiting to be taken back to nostalgic music by the mariachi groups but I was greatly disappointed. My mom and aunt where my special guest to this event. Neither speak english and were very excited going in to the show but when mariachi start to sing in english... Naaaaa, that doest work! It killed it. The host was annoying! Her singing towards the end accompanied by a pianist! Really?? Where did the mariachi show go?? It was boring for the most part and especially when the story telling came around too! Stick to what u promised: a mariachi show! Don't get too creative! Stay authentic. The only good thing about the whole show was Mariachi sol de Mexico! They are true to their roots and sang beautifully! The rest was a waste of time :( and money!

DISHEARTEN
When you hear MARIACHI you feel orgulloso to be Mexicano/ Mexicana! Mariachi music makes all walks of life come together and stand to their feet an appreciation of the colors, tradition, & love for our Culture. So when you hear Mariachi USA Christmas you think multiple Mariachi groups, none stop music, your feet hurting from either standing up all night singing along to the songs or from dancing at your seat. This show was nothing close to what the word Mariachi means. No offense to the two Mariachi Groups (Mariachi Campanas De America & Mariachi Sol De Mexico de Jose Hernandez) who where both awesome! But I will say that Rodri I thank you for appreciating Mariachi music but your vision for this event needs a lot of work. I have never seen people fall asleep at a Mariachi event (unless they were drunk). To much talking in her part, to much english, to many silent moments, the comedy wasn't good, and it was a bad knock off of "White Christmas". In all in all, I think Rodri wanted to be the star of the show & it was a big flop! If she has a vision she needs to stay out of it & make it about the Mariachi not her (Rodri)! But then again she isn't Mexican! I was considering on going to the Mariachi USA Festival at the Hollywood Bowl but after reading the reviews I would be looking at another disappointment especially knowing that its Rodri Entertainment.

I was excepting more than what I got. I wanted the mariachi to play more christmas song in spanish. My child and I can listen to christmas songs in english on the radio from november and on. However, I want to experience what I can't very often, and that is to feel as if I'm in Guadalajara and im hearing the mariachi plays at a posada.
