I love the fact that people were there to listen to music. Not to be seen or say they were at the show. There were seats so I loved the fact that I didn't have to fight to hold my spot or have some obnoxious couple push their way past me. The whole evening was special. The band was mingling in the crowd before the show so when they took to the stage there was a lack of pretense. That's when the magic started. It felt like a dream. Sonically, the way the instruments were placed on the stage and the way the three musicians interacted was a 10 out of 10. My only complaint is that I wanted about a half an hour more of music(Though I think they did play about an hour fifteen to an hour and a half) but even then I think that's the plan to a great set. Leave them wanting more. And they certainly did that. Much thanks for a great show! When I go out to see music and am disappointed I am always less concerned that I wasted money and much more distraught about the fact I wasted my night. In a real way the show restored my hope and confirmed my ideals about what a concert should be like.

I love Vincent and completely appreciate the aesthetic he puts out in all his work. I just wished he'd look over at the audience every once in awhile.

The show started with a few squeaky notes, as if the band was getting ready to start tuning. Those squeaky notes began to repeat themselves and began to develop the first layer of what was a sonic painting of a melodramatic night which you had to be there to experience. I had to laugh at comments I heard through out the crowd as to how people were upset that Vincent was not facing them (he often had his back turned toward the audience as he tweaked his sounds until he felt they were right). I was pretty sure that this night was not about us "seeing" Vincent Gallo as it was about experiencing one of his creative art works. The band played so well together and seemed to be very intune with what each other was doing. They did play a few songs which are well known with Galllo's fans including one of my favorites, "Honey Bunny". The only thing I feel was missing at this show was another 30 minutes to an hour of music as the show only lasted about an hour and 10 minutes. I hope to see them perform again some time soon as it is always a pleasure with Mr. Gallo who has been a large influence on me and a gentlemen the few times I have meet him.
