If you think that Jamie and Adam are lots of fun to watch on TV, you'll love seeing them in person! I brought two HS girls and they had a blast. Buy a ticket in the front section if you want to participate in the show -- they use volunteers from the audience to demonstrate some fun stuff... We generally sit in the balcony, but this is the type of show where you want to sit close.

Adam and Jamie put on a fantastic evening of entertainment. If you're a fan of Mythbusters (and if you have any elementary school-aged boys in your house, how can you not be a fan), you will love this show. It was also great seeing our kids and all the other kids out for an evening with their parents so excited about having a grown-up evening out. The kids in the audience were excited about the show, but I've got to say, they were well-behaved too (so the non-kid-toting adults in the audience enjoyed the show as well).

We are both big fans of the show. It was great to see them live and talk about their beginnings, and what they have learned as scientists. We live in a world where a man can spend 2 minutes accidentaly waching The Bachelor while desperately trying to find the remote and actually loose intelect. Thank goodness for shows like Mythbusters that combine fun and education in such a cool way. It has stimulated many conversations between my son and I. Stage show was great mainly because Adam and Jaimie connect so well with their audience. Witty demonstrations with a strong connection to the TV show made us feel like we were in a long episode. Made me wish I had sprung for the VIP package!

Adam and Jaime are no less charming in person than they are on television. Still, the live show could use some work. It was full of pieces that sort of went no where, awkward endings and long pauses between bits. Whereas the purpose of the show is so clear -- raise a question and then answer it -- the purpose of the show remained a mystery. Is the point to do crazy stunts? To show off illusions? To review the TV show's greatest hits? We got a combination of all three, but it did not amount to a coherent evening. Lots of time was spent waiting for the guys to pick their volunteers, who frequently took the stage for a very small activity and then were sent to their seats again, a round trip that did not amount to much for the thousands who had to watch it. All this said, my daughter (age 10) absolutely loves the show, and loved the live show, too.

To start - our family are HUGE Mythbusters fans - so Adam and Jamie couldn't have gone wrong. Best part of the show: seeing Adam and Jamie unscripted when they tell about how the show got started and their answering audience questions. A few of the demonstrations - like the strengh of interweaving of telephone book pages was pretty cool too. Our lessor favorite parts of the show: nothing really exciting happens - so if you are an explosion junky - this might not be the show for you (they do some fake explosions that they should have just skipped). Also the venue was too large for the show - we were in around the 40th row and had to watch the show on a TV screen if we wanted to be able to see what was going on- almost all questions and volunteers came from the first 10 - 15 rows. If you want to go up on stage - you need to have a completed waiver in hand when they come out into the audience.

It was so cool seeing our favorite television hosts tell us about the show and the myths they bust. It felt like we were visiting old friends are their personalities in person are exactly like they are on TV. It was delightful to see the amount of audience participation... My sons are huge Mythbusters fans. They were enthralled for the entire show. However, adults were left a little bored as the cast spent so much time taking questions rather than actually doing stunts. Obviously, there are limitations to how spontaneous a show like this can be outside a TV studio setting. Overall, this is an absolute blast for young fans, but needs more content to keep everyone's attention.

I was unsure what to expect. The show consisted of a video tour of the Mythbusters studio, a few demonstrations involving audience participation, two Q&A sessions, and a few demonstrations not involving the audience. Total show length was about 2 hours, with a 15 minute intermission in the middle. The show is definitely kid-friendly, and I would say about 40% of the audience were kids.

This was a great show for anyone who's a fan of the TV series!! It was appropriate for all ages; and makes learning fun, entertaining, and exciting! The amount of audience interaction was incredible, it almost felt as though we were all there for a big party that Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman were hosting. The stunts and experiments were fast paced, the talks engaging, and the clips from the show played on the screen flowed seamlessly together and the two hours just flew by! I will definitely be attending if they go on tour again!!

If you have read any of these reviews you already know this is a fun entertaining show. Adam and Jamie present their stuff in the way you would hope they would if you have seen their show on TV. They combine keeping the show moving, with genuine audience participation, in a way that makes everyone feel like they were part of the fun even if they were not chosen to go on stage. The show never dragged for me, and I was sorry it had to end. After the show there was a meet and greet. (for the first couple rows yes, but I did research the presale password, and buy my tickets 1.5 seconds after they went on sale) Jamie and Adam were very gracious and accommodating. They did another Q&A, and cheerfully took pictures with everyone in the room. If they both are anything less than genuine nice guys, then they should get oscars for their performance.

Big fan of the tv show, and I've wanted to see Jamie and Adam in person, so this was my best chance. Entertaining show that brings a lot of humor and science to the crowd. They have a number of pre-scripted interactive items they perform with some crowd members and also Q&A with the crowd. They also give some insight on what goes on when the camera is not rolling. This is family-friendly show, and our particular audience was full of families with kids - they all seemed to enjoy it. If you like the tv show and appreciate Jamie and Adam's humor, you'll like the show (just don't expect any actual myths to be tested).

Worst waste of ticket money in a long time. A combination of the stars bragging about their own success, embarrassing audience members, and showing video clips anyone who has watched the show has already seen dozens of times. Only on-stage science was elementary and repeats from show stunts. Major disappoint to all 3 people in our group.

This show was a lot of fun. I took my son who is 13. We've been watching them since they started. For not actually busting any myths per se, they kept the audience amused and interested with some classics, like the telephone book strength test, question and answer with both Jamie and Adam and just plain fun. Lots of audience participation as they leave waivers on many of the seats prior to the doors opening. The show production was very well done. If anyone feels like asking about "what happened with the canon ball..." don't bring it up. They took this accident very seriously and laughing reactions from the crowd were dimmed with the seriousness of the answer to the question. They are unique guys, so different and quirky in their own way, it was just pure fun seeing them in this way. I would recommend buying tickets to any future show.

I was wondering how they could translate such a great TV show into a live show. The answer is, not very well. There were some parts that were enjoyable, but for the most part I was anxious to leave. I stayed because my children were enjoying themselves. I found Adam to be quite engaging and funny, but Jamie is very dry and boring. I felt the question and answer session to be extremely boring! A truly unforgettable night. The performance could not have been more perfect! It was the right mix of deleted-scenes, special moments, tomfoolery, demonstration, Q&A and comedy that made the tour something special. Having members of the audience participate in every "experiment / demonstration", be they young or old further enhanced the enjoy-ability of the evening. Something that will never be forgotten, and something absolutely worth seeing! - And the surprise back stage meet-and-greet passes were a huge bonus. It's hard not to love a show when you are a huge fan, plus you get to sit about 8 feet from the stage, PLUS you get called onto the stage to help with a demonstration. So there's my disclaimer - it was about a perfect night for me. The Fox theater is small enough venue that I am fairly sure no matter where you were sitting you would be able to see, but where I was, in the orchestra pit, was priceless. There were a couple of technical glitches, perhaps to be expected in a live show of this magnitude. The paintball machine gun did not work, which really bummed me out, but I don't think anyone left disappointed because there was so much else. If you have an opportunity to see this show, do it!

This was bar far the most unique performance I've ever seen. Very educational, and very fun. Lots of variety, and very well-paced. This was an amazing event for children, too. Jamie was particularly encouraging of youngsters who asked questions; in fact, he only took questions from children. It was great to get the history of the show, but I was disappointed that Jamie's "Blendo" robot was not actually Blendo, but a prop. I would have hoped they'd have more respect for the audience than that. Jamie also allowed the audience to snap pictures with their cell phones, very generous.

The show mostly prioritized funniness over learning or uniqueness. While we had a great time laughing, I wish there was more unique experiences not found by watching the show. Most of the act was merely re-enacting different episodes, or showing re-mixes of explosions, Adam hurting himself, etc. While these were fun, I really wish they offered something more unique.

Last week I took my wife and children into the city for a show at the Beacon Theater. No, it wasn t one of the Allman Brothers legendary New York spring concerts, although that would have been fun. Even if I would have had a hard time explaining to my kids about why the song was named Jessica, or an even harder time explaining what the strange smoke smell was. Instead, we went to see a live production of Mythbusters! For the eighteen of you that don t have cable television, Myhtbusters is a show that has aired on the Discovery channel since 2003. Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, two science-loving fellows that spent years working in the special effects field, host it. To describe it in simple terms, they blow stuff up and then explain how it happened using science. The show quickly sold out and the event was packed with three types of people. People who have taken AP Physics, people who are currently taking AP Physics, and children who some day will be taking AP Physics. Even my wife who was once the president of the National Honor Society said that the crowd seemed nerdy, like a Star Trek convention without the cool costumes. Although I did see a lot of really nifty t-shirts that featured the elements of the periodic table and even one with Albert Einstein wearing a Che Guevara style beret. The onstage antics got the crowd going wild, with applied demonstrations of some of the laws of physics, and then the audience really went nuts as they flashed the formula F=MA on the Jumbotron. I proudly looked down at my boys who were completely absorbed by the show. The glow on their faces as people fist pumped and chanted SCIENCE made me realize that this generation s idea of cool is all about being smart. Sure the concept of cool as I knew it growing up still exists, as it is cool to be the captain of the football team, but there are even cooler plateaus these days. Its cool to create an App for the iPad, its even cooler to take a semester off to work at a lab that makes artificial robotic limbs, and the pinnacle of today s super cool; when your tech company goes public and you make the Forbes list! It s funny that going into the summer of 2012, I hear parents talk about computer camp and science experiences with the same pride and gusto that other parents speak of the A Travel team. I guess it s only a matter of time before we start putting people like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg on trading cards! As cool as all that is, I guess that the age-old quandary for any teenage science geek is still the same; convincing teenage girls that being a nerd is really cool.

Took my 3 kids - 15 yr girl, 13 yr boy, 10 yr boy - all Mythbusters fans. The boys thought it was great, daughter enjoyed it but not as wowed. Show is broken into 2 halves that are basically same setup - dialogue on background of show/host, some video highlights from show, a handful of interesting demonstations, and Q&A with Adam/Jaime (each on their own - Jaime did in one half, Adam in the other). Demos included high speed camera shots of audience member facial expressions, anti aircraft paintball gunning a audience member in armor. Was definitely geared for wide age range but sweet spot would have been 10yr old.

They were very personable with those that were picked to join them and Adam was definitely entertaining. I have much respect for Jaime and Adam! The show was over 2 hours long and there were no lulls.

Good show, well run, professional. Entertaining. Could I borrow Jamie's paintball howitzer? I was particularly pleased with the professional response I got at the ticket window since one of our tickets got left in Vermont. It was promptly and courteously re-issued- Thank You.

This was one of the best live shows I have ever seen in my 12 years of existence. Unfortunately Jamie and Adam didn't invite me up on stage as I had poor seats (last row) otherwise it could not have been any better!

Adam and Jamie showcase what they do on TV with a great mix of highlights on a big screen TV, Q&A, audience participation (wave those signed wavers for a better chance to go onstage), and original live material. There was a mix of children, nerds, students, adults in the audience and everyone, including us, was having a great time. Watch the show? Bring the family to this, they have worked out all the bugs mentioned in early tour performances, this was smooth and totally enjoyable.

Wonderful show. Both Jamie and Adam lived up to their TV personna with their wit and knowledge. The audience participation keeps the show real and the video clips while the stage is prepared prevents boredome. A great time while learning!

I was not sure what to expect but it was a well thought out multi-media show that had the feel of the tv show and a good amount of audience participation. My wife and I thought it was very entertaining and made for a nice night out.

I bought tickets that were located in the pit (and the ticket cost included VIP status so that we'd get to meet Adam and Jamie after the show). The show was hilarious and so much fun. I bought the tickets as a birthday gift for my husband since he's a big fan of the television show. It's not something I typically watch on television, but I enjoyed every bit of the show! The only problem was that our view was obstructed by a light box that was on the stage, and since we were in the pit and at the end of the row, we were looking up at the stage from a weird angle.

I took my 7 and 9 year old sons to the show. We are huge Mythbusters fans. We LOVED the show, it was great to see Adam and Jamie in person! It was really great to hear a lot of the "behind the scenes" stories to go with episodes we have seen in the past. While you don't get the big explosions like you see on the show they did a lot of interesting and entertaining things.

I have watched Mythbusters sparingly throughout the years and have enjoyed their emphasis on science and the way that they promote science learning. This stage show was advertised as a view behind the myths, which is appropriate for what they presented. They provided numerous opportunities for the audience to ask questions and gave behind-the-scenes commentary about making the show and their favorite parts of the show. Their stated goal was to "mess with" the audience, and they did do that to some volunteers. However, one who watches the show might expect that they would bring pyrotechnics or projectiles or do some form of myth-busting on the stage. One would be mostly wrong. While there were a few interesting demonstrations (involving a phone book, a hammer, or a paintball gatling gun), much of the show was a more subdued, intimate look at the makers of a popular show and their love of science. Even the one thing that they did that could have potentially used pyrotechnics was nothing more than a cheap trick with smoke and lights. In the end, this was an enjoyable show to people who are enthusiastic about science and those who like the personalities of the MythBusters, but don't come expecting much in the way of explosions.

I really enjoyed this event. I liked how the MythBusters used and explained actual scientific concepts during the tour, just like on the show. They're funny and engaging. I also liked how they involved the audience through demonstrations and Q&A. If you're not a huge fan, then you might miss out on some of the jokes and references to older myths. It's really geared towards consistent and longtime followers of the series. Luckily, I'm one of those people. However, my friends are not, so I don't know if they necessarily got the same enjoyment as I did.

The Mythbusters are impressive every week on television. They did a phenomenal job in bringing that same mix of fun and thought to the stage. So worth the money and effort to get to this show. Definitely not to be missed.

I found the humor and conversation to be on an adult level - entirely appropriate for kids, although a bit over their heads and probably boring to those under 10 (the Q&A got a little long-winded and technical). The experiments were the opposite - geared towards the 10 and under crowd and a little goofy to the adult crowd. So, basically there was a little bit for everyone to enjoy. Jayme and Adam each took quetions from the crowd, which was a lot of fun. They brought up lots of volunteers, mostly children. They utilized a lot of video from their television show, which I found a little boring, as I've seen all this at home already and would much rather have seen that time go into more live interaction. Be sure to get there early as they do not provide enough release forms for everyone and you must obtain one in order to be eligible to go on stage.

I'd recommend the Behind the Myths Tour. It did not have alot of mythbusting as you see in the television program but the behind the scenes things that you wonder about. I enjoyed getting to know both of the hosts better during the Q&A sesions. My middle schooler enjoyed herself. She was thrilled when she recognized some of the theories discussed.

My two sons, 12 and 8, adore the Adam & Jamie. They were excited about the show beforehand. During the show, it was a blast to see how much utter enjoyment they got from watching the TV stars on stage. I enjoyed the show beyond belief. It was great and hope that Adam and Jamie come back again. Wish I had gotten the seats closer than section G, but still had awesome seats. Next time, will get as close as possible. This show was worth every penny paid!

I love Mythbusters and they did not disappoint! Although, if you've seen all their shows, nothing in Behind the Myths will surprise you. It's cool to see in person though. And I do admire their focus on children and if you have kids you should definitely take them to this show! I don't have kids and found it a little more kid-centric than I would have liked, but happy to see kids excited about science!

They really didn't "bust" any myths so it was more of a review of stuff they had done on the show. Two question and answer sessions and a couple of videos. Great stuff for kids, adults go only if you are a big fan.

Enjoyable but not great. Not enough action for my 7 year old. Good for adults and Myth-heads ;) As mentioned before, wish they could have chosen some folks from the cheap seats to participate and not just in front of the stage.
