green river ordinance performed a hell of a show in the bronze peacock room at HOB! easily one the best concerts i've ever been to. what i like about GRO is that they sound as good live as they do on record. and to top it off, the band did an unplugged encore performance in the middle of the crowd and everyone sang along! the bartenders were on top of their game and i enjoyed my favorites, shiner bock and woodford reserve bourbon! and to think i almost didn't go because i had been working alot and was tired, but went because i didn't want to regret it...

This band out of Forth Worth, Texas is incredible! From the start it was a really high energy set - sounds of a steam locomotive brought them onstage and they jumped right in with a fantastic guitar wall of sound on "Dark Night" (Josh, Joshua, Geoff and Jamie all rocking it with the usual strong drumbeat from Denton) - then hit nearly every track from the new "Under Fire" album, which is in itself a really great album! If you missed this tour (their "Under Fire" tour) don't let it happen again! This was show number 4 for me on this tour - number 5 is tomorrow in Indianapolis. After a rousing rendition of "Resting Hour" with a really powerful key change in the chorus, they sprinkled in some older favorites - "Goodbye LA" from "Out of My Hands", "Dancing Shoes" from last year's tour and "The Morning Passengers" EP, and an acoustic version of "Endlessly" (also from "Out of My Hands") that Josh completely nailed (again). They went off the printed play list twice - substituting The Band's "The Weight" (from "Songs We Like From Before We Were Born") for Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way"... I thought I would be disappointed but the song and the singalong were even better than the previous show. They skipped "San Antone" - closing out the main set with "Under Fire" - another strong guitar anthem and great singalong. The encore was such a strong finish - closing out (or so I thought) with "Lost in the World" and "Come On" (also from "Out of My Hands" and probably their biggest commercial success). But they weren't done....... after asking if we wanted one more - of course we did - and a brief couple of minutes they came out INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE CROWD (!) and played a very intimate and spirited version of "Where the West Wind Blows". It was simply........ to overuse the word - an incredible finale!! I will see these guys every chance I get as long as they are touring and I can afford the travel. I have also never met a more personable and humble group of guys - all five of them pose for pictures, sign autographs and chat with the fans until the very last person has had their turn. These guys are what music and the fan experience is all about - bar none. Josh, Jamie, Geoff, Joshua and Denton - you guys are everything good about music!

Loved the band but the facility left a lot to be desired. They apparently started the concert early because our tickets said 9:30 start time, we arrived at 9:10 and the first opening act (Sean McConnell) was just leaving the stage. Giving an accurate start time would have been nice. The Last Bison were the second act and they were pretty good. Green River Ordinance was amazing as always. Such talented musicians with great songs and they love interacting with the crowd. We were right up front at the center of the stage so we had a great location. There are lots of posts around the venue so it's hard to see the stage from anywhere but front and center. The drink prices were outrageous as well. $15 for one mixed drink! But that's nothing against the band. GRO was awesome and I can't wait to see them again!

This is the second time I have seen GRO, and they were even better then the last time I saw them. They played a great setlist and had a decent opener. The lighting was really great for what it was, the lights they had rigged put on a good atmosphere. The encore was amazing, with the band playing "Learning" unplugged in the middle of the audience.

Green River Ordinance put on an amazing show. Their sound and look was great. The light show they had also greatly added to the aura. Only problem was the speakers were set a little too loud to be comfortable.

What a great show. The venue was perfect, it was small and intimate, but did not feel cramped. Both opening acts did a great job, my favorite was Andy Davis. Green River Ordinance did an incredible job, they came out and rocked the stage. I love their music and was even more impressed by their presentation. I will definitely be going to see them again.

The Basement is a dump and not a good concert space by any stretch but GRO made the best of it and gave 110%. These guys are super talented and fun to talk with after the show.

GRO really know how to connect with the audience. They played songs off of their new album but also played fan favorites. At the end the played acoustic in the middle of the crowd!!!! It was an amazing concert. Venue was not that big but it was fine. Meeting them after the concert was great also. They are all very genuine and nice. Definitely earned my fan loyalty.

This was the 7th or 8th time I've seen Green River Ordinance perform - I will never miss a show when they come to Boston! They are such a talented group of musicians - very refreshing! Their new album "Under Fire" is amazing - not a "B" side to be found on this album! They are hard-working, humble, and have earned every ounce of success that comes their way! LOVE ME SOME GRO!!!!!!!

Everything about this band is incredible! The way they owned the show, the stage and the night was out of this world. I was super impressed with the lightening effects and how they performed their songs live. They completely blew it away at the end when they came down into the audience to play one of my favorite songs with no electronics or anything. Bottom line, they can sing live, keep an audience engaged and make you leave the event talking about it! Second time i have seen them live, the first time when supporting Needtobreathe and they just got even better!

They were okay, but not worth staying up late on a work night and certainly not worth what we had to pay our babysitter. Also, too much audience participation. I paid to hear the band, not the audience.

I have never been disappointed in seeing these guys play. And you could not ask for more from them - on stage and off. They give their all on stage and then will talk to everyone in the room afterwards. If you have the chance to see GRO, I highly recommend them.

Let me start off by saying that I had never heard of Green River Ordinance until about 12 hours before the start of the show. I was looking for something for my friend and I to do on a Saturday night, and as we both enjoy seeing shows at The Basement and rock music, I figured for $20.00, what the heck? The opening act, Miggs, was incredible and made instant fans during their 40 minute set. However, GRO put on the best 73 minutes of music I have heard in the past six months. They opened with Don't Give Up and didn't stop rocking the place until the last chords of Where The West Wind Blows. They did a phenominal cover of Go Your Own Way and also The Weight by The Band with Miggs. Also, both bands came out in costumes during each others sets and danced around (the banana was my favorite) as it was the last night of the tour. If you see one up and coming band this year, make it Green River Ordinance. You will not be disappointed.

Love the band, and it was a real treat to hear them in such an intimate setting. They played some of their classics, a few from the new EP, and a fees covers. My personal highlight - when the band came down from the stage and played "West WInd" with all of us standing in a circle around them. Can't wait for them to come back to NYC soon.

The Mercury Lounge was a perfect small venue to get up close with the guys and their music. As always, their songs just sweep you up into great melody and rhythm and they are great performers. I'm so happy to have seen them there, and to have time to talk with each of them. Every member of the band is gracious and interested in greeting the fans.

GRO blends old favorites and new acoustic tunes into a seamless performance. I especially loved how they ended the show: campfire-style in the middle of the audience. Leaving the show in a great mood is a guarantee. Peace, love, and GRO. Don't miss it.
