The opening bands were nothing special. The show generally drew a crowd of mixed scenes which did not fair well for those in the pit, and honestly it should've been a 21+ show, but other than that I had a fantastic experience. Dethklok were not only great to the ears, but visually the animations were both exciting and hilarious (here's looking at you, Dr Rockzo!). Do I wish they played a few more songs? Yes, the set seemed a bit short, especially considering how expensive the tickets were. And frankly I would've liked to hear Brendan talk in their voices a little more :) Like I first states though, overall it was a great show. Die for Dethklok!!

The show was absolutely amazing, it was too bad that hurricane sandy made them postpone but it was totally worth the wait, Machine Head really brought it that and so did All That Remains. I wasn't into the Black Dahlia Murder that much after this night I'll be listening to them more often. Dethklok brought out real Klokateers, was deff not expecting that, it was awesome!! Unforgettable night!

All the bands were really high energy and did great, sound wasn't too bad and great visuals to go along with the music. I went for ATR and Machine Head, and they were awesome. Had no idea what to expect with Dethklok, but they were great and entertaining. The venue was pretty nice compared to some other places I've been to, plenty of bars to serve. Definitely worth it.

1. I called Stage AE to ask what time the show started and was told doors open at 6pm and show will begin approx. 45 minutes later. I didn't expect Black Dahlia Murder to go on first let alone early. We arrived at 7PM and All that Remains was on their second or third song. How long did BDM play? 2. All that Remains played songs from their new album which obviously caters to a younger generation. New metal sound sucks. 3. First time seeing Machine Head and was impressed. it made up for All that Remains. 4. Dethklok did NOT disappoint. The sound and graphics were phenomenal. They made up for everything. I will see them and Machine Head again. 5. Rated four stars because of Dethklok, Machine Head and the venue.

As a big fan of the television series and the first two albums, I was pretty excited to see Dethklok live for the first time. I wasn't too familiar with the new (third) album going to this show, and a good portion of the set-list was drawn from that album's material, but I still enjoyed myself. The original animations for the tour, between song "banter" from the cartoon band, messages from Facebones, and even a spot with the infamous Dr. Rockzo was all pretty fantastic. The animations are "unedited" so to speak, and it was pretty wicked to see cartoon boobies on a giant screen behind a blaring metal band. Sound at the venue was a little bad, but that's not the bands fault. All in all, glad I went, a good show.

I went to see Dethklok and Black Dahlia Murder. Apparently, TBDM was opening while everyone was in line for tickets, and as I'm used to shows always actually starting an hour after the doors open aqnd arrived as such, I wasn't expecting to miss the band I wanted to see the most, which was hugely disappointing. Who the hell puts TBDM first behind Machine Head and All that Remains? Dethklok was pretty good. The main focus was on the images on the screen behind Brendon Small and the rest of the band. The intermission bits were quite funny, but I would definitely recommend earplugs, as the bass was distorted a little too much. They played two encores. The venue was nice enough. Very clean and plenty of security who weren't dicks. Parking was very easy for about $5. Unlike Cincy, there were no homeless to be found, and no riff-raff either. I don't drink, so I can't comment on the price or quality of the alcohol. Bathrooms were clean as well. For the price though, I wish the show had been longer. It was over by 11:00, which was a little early for a Friday night show. I probably wouldn't go see Dethklok again, but since this is my second botched attempt to see TBDM, I will see them again.

This was an awesome show. Four great bands. My personal opinion is that The Black Dhalia Murder was the best opening act. They are very creative and got me full of energy. As I Lay Dying grew on me and I got really into it. Machine Head was sweet and crazy. Dethklok just tore it up though. I really like this band. A lot of talent. I want to mention that I think the tone of the guitar in Dethklok is similar to that of Queen's. They had a cool cartoon music video playing the whole time Metalocalypse style. They played the last song without it though, which I appreciated cause I wanted to see them shred. I had a great time and I think all four bands were well worth it. I sorta just enjoyed watching Dethklok vs. actually moshing and moving like I did for The Black Dhalia Murder. Black Dhalia Murder's guitarist is sick!

We got the MH VIP ticket. it was great to see and talk to the band! And we were the first one to go in the room so we were right in front of the bands! That was epic!!!! For Dethklok, we were on the 2nd floor (we did not care that much about this part of the event) and I was pretty surprised that the "seats" area on the side are now charged more money! As the space was not full, a "Fillmore" lady gave us free access and our seats were right in front of the big amplifiers. The sound was really loud and we could not see the screen. I'll never pay any money for this kind of space!!!

As much as I enjoy Dethklok, I was really there to see Machine Head, who were scheduled to come on at 8:30 as the second to last act. For some reason there was a last minute change or a set list discrepancy, and All that Remains played that timeslot, so I missed Machine Head. Would have tried to get their earlier if I had known, but alas, my bros Machine Head don't get the respect they have worked twenty years to deserve.

As a fan of the show Metalacalypse from the start, it was great to see Dethklok's music live in concert. The energy in the room was nothing short of BRUTAL!, as was the music. Still Brenden Small, along with Facebones, were able to bring just the right amount of comedy to the scene during song breaks...Certainly more laughs than at any Deathmetal show I've been to. Contrary to what is seen on tv, their were very few casualties by the end of the night...girls, when you're warned not to go into the mosh pit with stiletto heels on by the guys you're with...DON'T go into the pit!! Lol

Easily was one of my favorite experiences ever at a metal show. Gene Hoglan is a monster drummer and Brandon Small is an amazing player/vocalist. For a cartoon band, their set and timing with the videos was so much more professional than normal touring bands. Plus, Dr. Rockzo does cocaine and needs our money. Must see them again. P.S. - The Black Dahlia Murder needs more set time, but killed it for their 30min set. Same goes with Machine Head. Both were fantastic. All That Remains was much better than they have been in the past, but having not liked their last 3 albums, I would've preferred them to open, with both Dahlia and MH having more time.

The show was more like a live Metalocalypse episode than a real-life Dethklok concert. There was a large projector screen behind the band which displayed the animated characters during the songs, and showed short conversational clips between each song. The performance was excellent and included a diverse mix of songs from Dethklok's 3 albums. One weird element was that the three opening bands were forgettable 'real' metal bands, so when Dethklok finally got onstage, the crowd was a weird mix of young Adult Swim fans pushing towards the stage, and old-timer Pantera fans frustrated at the lack of 'real' mosh pits. All in all, though, it was a once-in-a-lifetime type of show and very worth the price of admission.

With fees this concert ended up being 47$ plus a trip into nyc. This was definitely the worst show I've ever been too. They opened the doors 15 minutes late and didn't even hold the first band when people finally got through the long unorgainzed secuirty and ticket check lines the first band, which happens to be my favorite band was all ready over. The next two popular metal bands bitched in between songs how they let each other down by not switching times. Either of them played any music from their first two albums. So thay was a let down as well. Then the headlining cartoon band came on. I'm personal not a fan but I could have just sat at home on the couch because it was the same animation on the big screen as the show. Besides the venue being unorganized, the security was the worst and the drink prices were overly obnoxious. Lol this was clearly a overall unenjoyable experience.

All the bands playing that night were awesome! Machine was -and always will be- my favorite! Too bad their set wasn't longer. I thought the volume was a little low, actually, though. I was nearly up against the stage but thought the vocals weren't as loud as they should've been. Otherwise, all was well. The standing room, including around the pit, was sufficient. The bar upstairs was great and had a clear view of the stage. The merch tables were also nicely spaced out.

Dethklok was even better than I expected. They had little inbetween video segments that I wasn't expecting, to keep you entertained (even one for people to go to the bathroom if they needed to haha). The band that played the songs were incredible (music videos and accompanying images were played on the screen behind them). Brendon Small did all the voices from Metalocalypse, and even took some crowd requests. All around amazing time, and definitely one of the best shows I've ever been to.

Dethklok, the 7th largest economy in the world, was nothing short of showing why they achieved such title. Brendan Small and Gene Hoglan are super badasses live. The supporting band members were also achieving a high badass level. They had a great set list and they played it wonderfully. Machine Head, the band that played right before Dethklok, was a very good appetizer for the Klok and were also very good live. Overall, it was a very great show.

Dethklok was fantastic; sounded great, visuals were very well done, flawless performance, all around excellent. I would gladly go see Dethklok again anytime. On the downside, the sound for Machinehead (and the openers in general) was a big disappointment. The drums were overpowering to the point that some songs were almost unrecognizable. If the whole show had been as finely tuned as the headliner it would've been stunning. All-in-all still a great concert.

As was everyone there to see Machine F*****G Head. I would not have purchased a ticket if they were not on the bill. But to review what I did see/hear. Black Dahlia Murder, I don't know there music, but this event sure did not help. Horrible sound qauality. Could not understand the singer, the music was muddy at best. All that remains, great set, they totally rock, but really? Less than 1 hour without Machine head on the bill? You could've picked up the slack and played about 4 or 5 more songs (I die in degrees would've been nice). And lastly Deathklok, I have no review, didn't know them, so I left after ATR. And lastly the Aragon, why was the balcony closed?

Not a huge Black Dahlia Murder fan, so I didn't show up in time to see them, but All that Remains was great. They put an awesome show with great light effects. And Dethklok was fantastic. The Black Dahlia Murder started the night rocking hard and setting the stage for a great show. All That Remains was a pleasant surprise. They are definitely heavier live than on their Cd's.....& Dethklok was awesome...I've never seen the t.v. show and wasn't sure what to expect....but it was all good. Everyone had a great time. only reason 4 stars instead of 5 is because Machine Head wasn't there....They were the main reason i bought tickets in the first place....so i had some doubts going in. Dethklok had amazing visuals, tons of energy, epic music, and hilarious bits from the TV series characters. Brendon is as gifted at music as he is with a TV show. All That Remains played extra songs (to make up for Machinehead having to drop out due to illness) and every song impressed. Phil and Jeanne's vocals were tight. Black dahlia were very loud and good if you are into gutteral metal, I'm not as familiar with them given that every time I see them its as a short opening act on festivals (4-5 song sets). But no matter what this is a show NOT to be missed...

So I was a little apprehensive when I bought the tix because I became a Metalocalypse fan before I became a Dethklok fan =) How awesome was it that the roadies were in Kloketeer gear and setting up the stage that way?! Love that attention to detail. I was amazed at how on note that music and vocals were. If you were watching cartoon Dethklok on the screen and listening to live Dethklok the music/lyrics were synced. Brendon Small and the other guys put on an awesome show and I'll definitely attend another one if they come back to Chicago!

Awesome show. Only drawback was that the animation was running pretty constantly in the background. I realize a big part of the popularity is the show, but for metal nerds, there's some top notch talent on stage that we don't get to see. Gene Hoglan, Mike Kineally namely. Other than that, awesome vibe at the show as always, great musicianship. A total blast. Will continue seeing them until I get to see them perform: Comet Song Crush the Industry

This was a concert for fans of the show and for fans of the music. Great musicianship from the band members, and awesome animation on the giant screen behind them. Appearances from Rockso the Rock n' Roll Clown and Face bones. Overall, very entertaining and it pretty much rocked my face off. Also, I am fairly certain no one died. Cons: As usual, idiots who get drunk and make out with their fat girlfriends directly in front of me. Not enjoying the opening bands' sets is why I gave this show 4 stars instead of 5; they were not my cup of tea, so to speak.

I was not really into Black Dahlia Murder, and I actually went to go see Machine Head who unfortunately could not make it, but I still have a great experience seeing Dethklok and All That Remains for the first time live. I would go see them again if they come back to Chicago lane area.

I was extremely disappointed Machine Head dropped out last minute. For te price, it made the show not really worth it. I've never been this upset going into a concert. Dethklok put on a good performance. It just didn't feel like a solid concert without Machine Head.

The performances were all wonderful! Machine Head did a great like always, All the Remains was a hit from the start, and Deathklok was magical-unfortunately I arrived after Black Daliah Murder played.. :( But, the set list couldn't have been made any better. Deathklok was an ingenious finale, and the three bands leading up to their magnificent performance were in the right spot at the right time, giving their best performance!
