The Airborne Toxic Event

Back in 2008, the Airborne Toxic Event infiltrated the airwaves with their driving rock number \"Sometime Around Midnight,\" generating significant buzz and receiving the seal of approval from none other than U2. Today, the Airborne Toxic Event leave fans awestruck with lush viola melodies and catchy guitar riffs during their fierce live shows. The band's performances wouldn't be complete without signature hits like \"Changing\" as they treat audiences to a fan-oriented show on their exciting string of 2014 tour dates. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Los Angeles native Mikel Jollett began penning songs after a series of u.

So much better than when it was at the Piazza. I was able to enjoy the concert without feeling like I was being crushed to death in an enclosed space. Bad Suns, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Banks and Airborne Toxic were EXCELLENT. Some of the best live music Ive heard in awhile. Beer was pricey but I guess I can't complain when it's a 24 oz can. Parking around Festival PIer was plentiful and cheap, weather was perfect. Can't wait for the next one! Oh, and DJ ReedStreets KILLED IT as per the usual.

This is the 4th time I've had the privilege of seeing "The Airborne Toxic Event" play live, and it was definitely the best concert so far! They keep getting better, their energy is amazing and the fact that they are from LA makes them even better. They played their entire new album "Dope Machines" and some of their greatest hits.... Loved the venue, loved the enthusiasm, loved the concert.

The Airborne Toxic Event is just an amazing group! I've been a fan for so long! I'm glad they're finally getting the kind of attention that they deserve. I do miss the small venues and being able to talk to the band members though. Regardless, I always love seeing them perform!

Airborne is growing up! You can see many differences between the last show on March 2009 and Yesterday in the Fox theater. They refreshed the songs. They had a acoustic set in the show. Even the stage has changed a lot! Very, very good!

The Airborne Toxic Event put on an amazing show. They had two opening acts, Red Cortez, and The Henry Clay People. While these two were fun they didn't leave a big impact. The Airborne Toxic Event however were incredible. Every member of the band was full of life and oozed charisma. The Fox Theater in Pomona was a nice venue, very intimate.

Seen this band about seven times now and they never disappoint. They've definitely upped their performance over the last year and a half and it makes seeing them so worth it - even seeing them over and over. Loved the intimate, stripped down songs in the middle of the set - really nice addition to the show. The sound wasn't that great at times, but they were unfazed. Definitely looking forward to their next show and their new album!

The show was great!!! Loved the retro feel, and the band's enthusiasm.. The crowd did not seem familiar with the tunes. They need more radio play. The encore was the way the entire show should have been. They are young and excited and their music is powerfull with emotion. I can't wait for more.

This is the best new band in the world today. Incredibly high energy from five amazing musicians. They have the poise and musical chops of a band that has been performing together for many years. Mikel is a confident front man who establishes an immediate connection with the crowd. His singing and guitar playing are spot on. Anna is an incredible violinist/multi-instrumentalist and a great visual treat as well. Steven plays guitar in a style reminiscent of Johnny Marr and Bernard Butler, but taken to an even higher level. Noah and Daren are a formidable rhythm section. They bristle with talent. And let's not forget the songs! Sometime Around Midnight is the first big hit, but their debut album is great from start to finish. Please do yourself a huge favor and go see this band when they play in your area.

I loved the show last night at the House of Blues. I can't tell you the last time I went to a concert where the band smiled and laughed the whole time. I thought the crowd was very, very lame. I guess that was because they didn't know the group's music. I am so thankful that they put Cleveland on their tour. I can't wait to see them again. What was with all of the high school kids? Was there a discount on tickets for them? Just curious.

The Airborne Toxic Event put on a great show full of energy. This is one of those bands that doesn't cheat their audience nor rely on heavy production on their cds to sound good. I purchased these tickets on a whim and I am so glad I took the chance! I'll definitely be seeing them again!

We've all seen the movies and the shows were the rock band tells the crowd to sing along and the singer swings from the balcony and climbs up a tower. etc., we've all seen it and I have not really seen that sort of showmanship until I saw The Airborne Toxic Event. Airborne has almost overnight become one of my favorite bands, but after this show they are most definitely top 5. I met Mikel outside of the show while waiting in line to get in the venue he's a really cool guy, they all are I got Dan and Mikel's autographs and shook hands with Anna. These guys really really love their fans I've seen many bands from indie acts like Street Sweeper Social Club to superstars= bands like Muse, I've never seen a band that care so much for their fans like Airborne. The energy was amazing their setlist was perfect and their encore was remarkable. I even teared up a bit towards the end of the show when they began to play All At Once, I felt it hard, very hard. I can go on forever about this show but bottom line listen to the albums, buy the All I Ever Wanted dvd and go to their show! Best show I have been to so far and I have seen the likes of Muse and Nine Inch Nails. You will not regret i can guarantee that on ANYTHING! LOVE YOU AIRBORNE! Come back soon!

I have been a fan of this band for a few years and was very excited to see them. I bought two tickets thinking it wouldn't be hard ot find someone to go with me and was nearly proven wrong. Luckily I found a friend who had heard a few songs but didn't know them that well. Half way through the show he told me he was going home to download their album as soon as he got home! The show was sold out and since it was at a more intimate venue it was awesome how involved the crowd got, not to mention the band! When someone from the band crowd surfs while playing, and a girl none the less, it is an awesome show in my book!

The Airborne Toxic Event has some great songs on the radio, but seeing them live is a whole other level of beauty. Teamed up with the Calder Quartet, their music - which normally has an infectious beat and honest lyrics - was compelling and moving in a way that most live shows aren't. The interaction between the audience and the band - particularly Mikel - was as much a part of the show as the music. The chairs - an odd choice for a venue like the Regency Ballroom - were pretty well ignored during the second half, when the band really let loose and left nothing behind.

My only gripe that the show went by way to fast and was over in what seemed like a blink of an eye. If I did own a time machine it would be to go back to those moments of seeing the Airborne Toxic Event live! This was indeed my third show that I have seen them at. Now with that being said I believe they were in top form as they always are but the venue and crowd just didn't seem to mesh with them this time. I myself really dislike the Fine Line Music Cafe as a venue because it just seems too small and you can see into the venue as they are setting everything up which kinda hinders the mystery of it all as you can see the band practicing and setting up. The crowd in the front row where I was, was mostly filled with 18-20 somethings which was quite the downer because these kids seemed more into how they looked dancing to the music rather than into the band, Usually when I got to a show the people around me rock out with me but not at this show. The stage was quite low too so when me and my boyfriend made our way out of the front row area we couldn't really see too well. The stage from side to side is rather small too so the band couldn't really dance around and rock out as much as they have done at other shows. The setlist was O.K as aposed to when I heard them play in Iowa...now in Iowa they did a cover of Book of Love that made me tear up! It was sooo good and I was looking forward to them doing that again but they did not. This show didn't seem to have the almost religious exp to it like I had had in my previous show in Iowa. I am glad they keep Goodbye Horses on the setlist though because that song MAKES my exp. each and every time I see them. The band still is quite amazing to see LIVE and in the flesh so if you get the chance make sure to bring your gasmask and dancing shoes...toxicity levels remain HIGH!

The show was non-stop rock from start to finish with a little acoustic in between. The perfomance was top quality... they sounded even better live than they did on ther CD. Great show overall! The energy was there, the venue was there, and the fans were there! I drove from Dallas, Tx down to Houston, since I missed them perform there. Never heard of Red Cortez before but was drawn by there music and have to admit I look forward to hearing more of their songs. The Henry Clay People were full of energy. Although in my opinion, was not really drawn towards their music (as i stated... it is MY opinion), but still the people around liked them. The Airborne Toxic Event were worth the long drive! They played most of the songs off their cd which were awesome as well as a couple new ones! When they played the acoustic versions of a couple I was reminded why I enjoy their music, it still sounds GREAT when played electric or acoustic as compared to a few songs by others. Well worth it and I look forward to seeing them again in the future!!!

First time in the Orpheum Theatre. The opening act, The Dreamers, another indie-alternative band, had a good set. More of a punk-rock-indie sound. Good set, but the speakers/mic could have been better as it was hard to hear exactly what the vocalist was singing. But they appeared to fix it when TATE came on. When they came on, they got everyone standing up (this is a seated theater and everyone was sitting down for the most part of the opening act). While TATE isn't real a rock-out head-banger type of band, they played their songs with a lot of energy and got everyone in the theater moving and into the music. Some of their slower less rhythmic songs made for great chilling-listening, but when they played their popular songs, that's when everyone in the theater got moving. They aren't the band that jumps around and side to side like they are on something illegal, so don't expect to show be banging your head, but they make for a great musical act and if you like some heartfelt written indie alt-rock songs, then this is a concert you should make it on your list to attend.

Probably the strongest performance I've seen by the band, blazing through their catalog, it was a muscular show full of energy. I was hoping they'd play more new music instead of their crowd-pleasing cuts from the first two albums, but that's a minor quibble.

This was the first time that I went to a Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party. It was a lot of fun!! The atmosphere was very chill. It was really cool that they had sponsers give out free samples. Just some advice, if you want to sit down but don't want to sit in the sand, bring a foldable chair. Trust me, at some point you're going to want to sit down. Free concerts are awesome! Love Radio 104.5, love all the free samples, the workers were very friendly and helpful. The bands were amazing! Love that I got to see Banks, airborne toxic event, catfish and the bottlemen and others for free! There are a few things to know. Plan on paying at least $20 for good parking. Street parking isn't worth the hassle. Festival pier is covered in sand making it not a stroller friendly environment. Definitely bring chairs or a blanket to sit on unless you like standing the whole time. Get there early for a good spot. Food and drinks are pricy (like with any festival or event). BUT there are vendors with free samples so that's cool. I'd definitely come again but a little more prepared this time.

The event was excellent. The sound was great, the lineup was great and the staff was efficient and courteous. Showed up a few hours before the doors opened and got right up front, it's really small venue maybe 100 people can fit in it at max. Everyone was jumping around and having a good time, everyone played very well and the replacement bassist for the replacement bassist was very good. The only bad thing was that you the mics didn't pickup the singing too well but overall.... 5 stars def worth seeing again, they all just bring such energy on stage its hard not to have a good time.

This was one of the best shows I have seen in a long time! Kodaline was an amazing opener - such great harmonies and a really explosive sound! I definitely added them to my playlist and listen to them often now. I wasn't sure if they could be topped, but The Airborne Toxic Event came out and really killed it. The energy in the room was intoxicating! When Mikel jumped of the stage to sing Gasoline, the crowd went wild. The energy never left, and it was a very memorable show!

They rocked! They were amazing! I was entranced watching the passion, the skill, the raw natural talent unfold on front of me and it occurred to me it was one of the best nights of my life! I've been to a lot of shows and they are the band humble and appreciative of their fans enough to come down off stage afterwards and sign autographs and meet and talk with you. It's profound. They're profound....

The Pageant is a fantastic venue, and Airborne puts on a great show. There was a really great energy all night. You could tell that the band was excited to be there, and the crowd was very positive. The staff was a lot more chill than at other shows I've been to. Also, Kodaline and Airborne were really well matched and complimented each other nicely, which made things even better. Overall, it was a great show and a really positive experience.

The show was incredible! Everything I was hoping for and more... they played a great mix of old and new songs, the show and venue was intimate, the stage set & lighting added to the ambiance with a great crowd and Mikel took time afterwards to say hello to those near the front of the stage. Highly recommend!

Of coarse TATE was AMAZING! And the venue which I have never been to was great! I thought it was very organized and a good place to see a show . It's not very big but I didn't mind because I feel more connected with band this way. Sometimes the stage can be a bit far or too high, here this wasn't the case. I would go back to this venue to see a show . I had an amazing time and the Airborne Toxic Event put on a great show, as always. Mikel after the show came down and shook everyone's hand and thanked us for coming. I'm thinking OMG, but no thank you mikel for writing amazing songs and being so talented. Everyone was great!

This was my first time seeing Airborne Toxic Event and they were beyond unbelievable, The strings are perfect, they are interactive with the crowd, it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. During the encore they played of Tom Petty's American girl going into Born in the USA into Missy. Amazing.

TATE was the best show I have ever been to in my entire life! They sounded great, were very interactive with the audience, and most of all made me feel alive. The best part of it all was they were just as eager to see the fans as the fans were to see them. They played as if it was going to be their last show on Earth. Any chance I get I will definitely see them, no matter the cost!

Just discovered this band a couple months ago -- and grateful I did. Love. Lyrics are honest and "real", concert was high energy and FUN -- just what I needed for this moment of my life.... "darling, don't let me in" -- so true. Great music heals the soul and restores healthy vibration. Thanks Mikal. : )

When you go to see The Airborne Toxic Event in concert be prepared to experience one of the best nights of your life. When they take the stage and play their first chord, it is just the beginning of a night full of electricity !! There is so much passion put into each and every song that it just leaves you speechless. All of their songs are based on life experiences of the lead singer, Mikel Jollett, so when he performs, you are not just listening to songs written just to keep the fans happy, you are actually hearing the story of Mikel's life , which makes the performance so much better because you just feel the energy coming from every word he speaks. Also, they are not your typical band, they are all multi-talented as far as playing more than one instrument. Mikel, Anna, Noah, and Stevie all can play more than one instrument and then of course there is Darren in the backround hammering away on the drums. When you leave an Airborne Toxic Event show, you are left feeling so satisfied and wishing that they will come back soon so you can see them again. What's funny though is you think the night is over but if you stick around, you find out that the best is yet to come. All of the band members actually come out after and meet with all of the fans that stick around. They talk to you individually, sign autographs and take pictures with you. You find that they are so down to earth and have not let stardom overcome them. All I can say is that me and my daughters have seen them 3 times this year and we now consider them as part of our family .

Airborne never disappoints. The show was awesome from beginning to end. This was the third Airborne concert I have attended and they just keep getting better. My favorite part of the experience is how connected you feel with the band. Mikel is a phenomenal entertainer. Every memeber of the band puts their heart and soul into the performance. I can't wait until they come back to Philly.

This was my fourth time seeing The Airborne Toxic Event and it was perhaps the best show yet! This was the first time I was able to bring my 15 year old son and seeing him enjoying them it was as if it were my first show. Mikel's voice was superb, the band was, as always, incredible and the energy in the room was intense! Thank you Airborne for another fabulous evening. Oh...and The Drowning Men and Mona were pretty awesome too!!

This was the best concert I have ever been too. I love Airborne and this concert just made me love them even more. It was really cool that Mikel came down with us and was jumping around with us because that is something I never usually get to be a part of. & A huge plus was that a few of the band members stuck around at the end to talk to fans and take pictures and give autographs which is always awesome. And you can defiantly tell that they appreciate their fans by the show they put on :) If you ever get the chance to see them DO NOT HESITATE DO IT!!!!

They put on such an awesome show. I hope they come back to South Florida more now that they played here. The crowd was a mixed age group, which was nice to not be surrounded by kids. The band took to the time to meet the fans and take photos with everyone. They seem so appreciative of their fans which is awesome and more often rare. Love this band.

It's festival pier. There are a lot of drunk people, people smoking weed in the front crowd and a lot of commotion. However, it's fun. All the bands played great even with the rowdy people crowd surfing every chance they could get. Bring a friend.

I've been wanting to see them for quite some time and I wasn't disappointed. The venue was awesome and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. All of the bands were great, but The Airborne Toxic Event was amazing. High energy, engaged the audience, played all my favorite songs. Yep, they were perfect. I even got to stand right in front of the stage :). I'd go again in a second.

I was really impressed with Robert Delong. I had no idea he played all the instruments in his set. It was a fantastic show to watch. But the true highlight of the night was Jungle. They played a phenomenal set! every song felt like a it was crazy awesome jam session. Will definitely be seeing them when they come back into town!

Good performance. Venue is a nice, little, old, beat up place that's just a little creepy. It is a nice change of pace from the general LA-type concert place. Acoustics were decent, too.

I purchased two tickets to this event as an anniversary gift for my boyfriend, who is a big fan of the band. As an attendee who was not super familiar with the music, I was throughly entertained during the performance. Mikel has a contagious amount of energy in his stage presence and his vocals sound near identical to the recorded albums. The band sounded great, and it's always a plus seeing bands with live Violins.

Lively, Fun, and seemed like they enjoyed their show in Boston. So great to see them interacting with the crowd. Get there early to get a good standing view. Got a spot on the balcony looking over at the right side of the stage. The view was great!
