When the band Yelle got on stage, the shouts of excitement filled the room, and it didn't stop there. Their synchronization the whole time between the drummers and Julie (the lead singer) was spot on. The drummers had a bit of humor when they played, which made the concert even more enjoyable. The sounds of the drums intermixed with the music was tight and spot on. The music just sounded overall amazing. You could dance, raise your hands, and have as much energy as when you walked in. Speaking of which, Yelle maintained their energy the entire time and motivated the crowd through each song. It was great to see how much Yelle has impacted their fans in the U.S. throughout the years, and their fancies is still ever-growing. Even though the words are in French, that didn't stop the fans from singing along. Overall, this concert experience was beautiful. Julie thanked the crowd after almost every song, and it showed how thankful they were to be in Boston, which makes me respect Yelle even more. After the show, the band signed fan's items at the merch table. Usually at concerts, bands rush, sign things, and move on to the next person. Julie took her time with each person, which made the experience personal and even more amazing. She is the kindest person I have ever met, and I truly mean that!

Just a lot of high energy. Great enthusiasm. She loved the crowd and the crowd loved her. Yelle took their own video of the crowd to post on their social media sites. Costume changes midway. Two songs at the encore.

Now, it was the best primarily because I really like her music and it means something to me because she helped me learn French. But here are the other reasons: 1) they brought a TON of their own lighting equipment and it was fantastic. It was synced with the beat and was sometimes thematically (the lighting!) related to the songs. For example, their was a jungle themed light filter for Safari Disco Club. 2) Their theatricality made it a real performance—the drummers got into it, pointing with their drumsticks, they came around to shake their asses, changed costumes, and it was evident that they practiced some of the movements and, for Yelle, facial expressions that they were going to do. Now if you wanted big theatricality, you could go to Lady Gaga, but with Yelle, it didn't detract from the music. It just added that they cared and were very professional, and having fun. The first priority was dancing and keeping the energy up. They also knew to bring real drum sets and not stupid electronic drum pads like their opening act. In fact, there were two drum sets, which, might sound a bit weird at first, but it added to the energy, created symmetry on stage, and didn't detract at all from the sound balance. 3) The foreign language effect —the paradise rock club is not a big gig, but Yelle is an established star (if mid-level), so the fact that she came to this venue, and that we all go to be so close—it was a great concert experience. I haven't been to that many concerts, but to hear everyone just YELL after each song finished. We were into it. C'était complètement fou. 4) Unsurprisingly, she stayed around afterwards and signed autographs and took pictures. I hear she likes hugs, too. 5) the French style I think Julie is sexy, but she didn't come out in or ever strip down to her skinnies. But more overall, it was something to behold an effortless style that didn't try too hard for appeal.

Hadn't really heard of Yelle until 2 days before the concert when I was asked if I wanted to go. I said yes and started looking into it more and bought my tickets. I didn't get there till 10 minutes into Yelle going on, but I was instantly excited to hear how good it was! I've only been going to dubstep and electro dances at Middle East, and this was the greatest change I could imagine: the music and sound was superb, and the Royale venue is beautiful. Lot's of room compared to other places and a much more pleasant and cleaner atmosphere. Yelle kept the energy up the whole time, although I wish it was longer! Only an hour set and a little more for encore. Very worth it though!

YELLE was amazing live! She is a great performer and is a great singer live especially. The show promoted her new album, and she came out in that weird woodland cloak she wore in her Safari Disco Club video, and the two men in her band came out in safari outfits. She knows how to work a crowd and is just too cute to handle! This was definitely the best concert I've seen here in Boston, for the venue and the performance. The Royale is an awesome venue and I definitely want to go back. If you have the chance to see YELLE, do it! My friends didn't really know a lot of her songs and they still enjoyed it, even though it was in French! She's just so entertaining... kind of like a cartoon.

I've seen a lot of concerts that have ranged from good, to just awful. This concert was simply amazing. Yelle is full of energy and so is her music, it is impossible not to dance. I would not hesitate at all to go see this concert again. After the show Yelle took the time to take pictures and talk to all her fans, even after the club closes she meet us in the street till everyone got to meet her.

Yelle's performance was spectacular and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to see a high energy and fun show to go see her live. She sang her old hits and her new hits, engaged really well with the audience (in both French and English!). She even stayed after to sign merchandise and take pictures with people who stayed after the show which was really nice. Even if you don't speak French (which I do) you'll enjoy it. The opening act French Horn Rebellion (FHR) was also very good. The two acts were paired very well since they have a similar sound (dance-y, electronic music). I can't remember the name of the female DJ that entertained the crowd before FHR came on. She was good too, but, her set (1 hour) was WAY TOO LONG. Opening acts really should not be more than 30 minutes (especially if they are not listed on the ticket). If she was DJ a dance party then her set would have been perfect, but as an opening act that preceded Yelle and FHR her set was too lengthy. Also, even though the event was advertised as starting at 7:30 PM they did not open the doors 7:40 and the first act did not start until around 8:00 pm. I would prefer that the event start on time (open the doors around 7:00 so the show can start by 7:30) The main reason I'm giving this review 5 stars is because I thoroughly enjoyed Yelle's performance.

Yelle is the hottest, most energetic, french woman you will ever see on stage! Her use of lighting and dance moves were unreal. She was grateful throughout the entire show, thanking LA several times between each song. She was genuinely happy, and even did a meet and greet after the show. She took a while (30 mins) for the meet and greet, but that got rid of a lot of people, so it worked out in the fans' favor. She is amazing, regardless if you know the french language or not. SO WORTH IT.

I have to say that Yelle was amazing, but what wasn't amazing was the fact that I had to wait forever for just two bands to play. I got there at around 7, which was when it was supposed to begin. We were lined up outside for nearly an hour and then had to wait another hour for French Horn Rebellion to play, who had technical difficulties for a moment or two. Then after that another hour wait for Yelle. I enjoyed Yelle and French Horn Rebellion, but I don't know whether it was the venue's fault for the wait or what. The ambiance of the Music Box was nice but that wait was excessively long. The lighting was done well during Yelle's set.

They do suck a great live show that you never want it to end and getting to see her in such a great venue space really makes the experience that much better, but really you can never have a bad time with them. French Horn Rebellion got the crowd writing like so few openers do nowadays and then Yelle took that energy and pumped it up with her leopard hoody jumpsuit. And yes, it's as good as it sounds. French Horn Rebellion really knows how to get a crowd involved. The sibling rivalry between the two brothers is brought out in their music, and it is very easy to tell that they are there to have fun with the audience. Yelle was also amazing. Yelle etait absolument fantastique! And for those that don't parle francais, it was a great show. There was a lot of energy, both on stage and in the crowd. The venue was small enough that I felt Julie was actually looking straight at me for a few moments. The set list was great, and right after the show Julie went over to where they were selling shirts and was signing things for people. Overall the venue was really nice and the show itself was magnificent. *Note on the setlist I posted...I can't remember all the songs they did, but it was a good portion of their 2 albums.

This was my first time venturing out in Brooklyn and boy was it well worth the trek from Long Island. The atmosphere at Williamsburg was definitely like something out of an indie movie. All the concerts I've been to were held in large massive arenas or spacious venues. This place, however, was small and cozy. I thoroughly enjoyed the small club/lounge ambiance that made the night feel magical. The people at the venue were friendly. Anyway, before I start getting to chatty, the concert was amazing! Yelle really brought the energy of a thundering club and her opening act (Housse De Racket) was a aural force to be reckoned with. On a scale of 10 I'd give this concert 9/10 just because I wish it would last a lot longer because of how much fun I was having.

This was the second time I've seen Yelle, and she was just as amazing as she was in Boston last spring. The venue was nice because pretty much everyone was up close and could see her really well (unless someone tall was in front of you). They started a little after 10 and finished around 11:45. For the encore they said they could do two more songs, which actually ended up being four more, so that was a nice little present. Four of the songs they did as a medley, which was fun. Of course Julie had fun outfits and was really cute through the whole show. She's so enthusiastic and completely into her music, which shows a lot in her performance. Show was amazing. Housse de racket was a really fun opening band. And Yelle just blew everyone away. Julie budet has so much charisma and full of energy, and granmarnier is also really cool. A lot of people rag on Webster Hall, but it really is a good music venue. My only complaint about Webster Hall is the annoying beer salesman who interrupts the dancing, by just barging in through the crowds trying to sell beer with his huge bin full of booze. I understand the business tactic, but it's extremely annoying. I've been to a bunch of concerts in NYC, and this is the only venue that does this. But anyway, as far as Yelle, yes it was amazing, and yes Yelle is 100% worth seeing live. As good as the albums are.
