I love K'naan because he sings the truth. He is not trying to immitate or be like another artist. He is himself. His talent represents what rap was always supposed to be, poetry with rythm. He and Wale put in a great performance, owned the stage and performed as if it were their last time to perform. I love music, all types of music and a concert experience is so great. This was an outstanding show.

It was so awesome. The sound moving from the speakers to the room to the floor through your body is incredible. They did an awesome job at monitoring everyone underage and K'naan was sooo good live. It sounded like his same voice from a cd. He's soo inspiring and encouraging this was a life changing experience for me. It was all so peaceful and loving. I got a chance to go on stage to have a shout out for Tom Weaver which was a once in a lifetime thing. I was ecstatic and beyond excited for every song performed.

This is the second K'Naan show we have gone to in Boston, and it won't be our last! Last year there were four of us, this year we brought a 5th, and next time I'm sure our number will grow again. The energy and vibe at K'naan's shows is just so positive and fun, you can't help but leave wanting more. His band is fantastic too!

Really amazing show! K'naan brings so much energy and emotion to his shows. This is my second time seeing him and he hasn't disappointed yet! The opening acts fit well with K'naan's style and they were really good as well. I'm so glad that I went to this one, and I can't wait until he comes back around!

The band was amazing, and K'naan took it to another level. The surprise guests, Nas and Damian Marley were also a great addittion to the show. John Forte was also great, but K'naan blew me away, everyone should experience this at least once...trust me you wont regret it...in fact you ll be left wanting more.

Overall the Concert was amaing!!! K'NAAN got it going! people couldn't wait for him to start. (it seemed that more people were there for K'NAAN then Wale.) From the first second, K'NAAN had people jumping, singing, and bouncing. Lasted the entire time. He really interacted well with us, and Even sang a personal ballad of Somalia. FANTASTIC CONCERT!!! Wale's DJ came out spinnin some tracks from Jay-Z, Kanye West, etc... and got everyone pumped for Wale. And Wale dilivered likewise. Sang all his songs! and brought K'NAAN back out for "Tv in the Radio." Together they really made the night worth while. I had a greattime. Highly recommend this show.

Opening acts Wale and John Forte warmed up the crowd adequately, but all were waiting for K'Naan to head out. He did not disappoint. Playing most of the Troubador album, he had the audience on its feet for most of the 70 minute performance. A nice touch was inviting the young friends of a young man from Massachusetts who recently passed away from brain cancer on stage for one of his songs as a dedication to the young mans memory (just give me another minute). K'naan performed an acapella version of Somalia, asking for silence, including his first cut of lyrics which he thought were too depressing for the final album cut. The band was decent and very loud, with a nice guitar riff from the guitar player. Audience participation with hands high accompanied most of the show. All in all, a very good show from a talented and thoughtful young man whose lyrics can be a sobering reminder of the difficulties in his homeland, while also offering hope for all of us to participate as best we can in improving the world. No encore - but perhaps this is standard policy at House of Blues (not sure). The club rocked.

Welcome back, John Forte. After a healthy stint in prison, which ended with a pardon from George Bush thanks to the unrelenting efforts of his godmother Carly Simon, John Forte is a new man. His short set of acoustic digs was the highlight of the night. While his recent album is a decent effort, the songs performed live with an understated back up band - as opposed to a more heavily produced album - allowed the new Forte shine through and connect with the audience. His time in prison has mellowed the former Fugees star: his dreads are down to his knees now, his voice more mature, and his songs more emotional and thoughtful. You could feel his joy at being on stage and sharing his music. Godbrother Ben Taylor joined for a song as well. After seeing Forte perform, I expect a resurgence of John Forte this summer. K'Naan's set was also a solid effort. He came out rocking, and the crowd was jamming along with every rhyme and beat. An extended story telling period and some radio harmonies slowed the set which took the early energy out of the show. But he ended strong. Wale was the headliner, but half the crowd emptied out by the time he hit the stage. He rapped with a DJ spinning behind him. I don't undrestand the Wale hype. All of his tunes are heavily produced and every song sounds like something you've heard before - isn't that a Ludacris song? that sounds like Lupe Fiasco? isn't that a Jay-Z mash-up? The old routine of bringing up a new hip hop star by filling his album with cameos with proven hip hop stars is getting tired. Time to freshen up the hip hop model guys. Wale is a new rapper playing the same old tired formula.....

So the opening act was a guy actually not listed but he was absolutely incredible and he failed to mention his own name other than mumbling it once so sadly, I forget it. John Forte was up next and let me tell you, if you have not heard of him, go do so...right now. This guy's story is incredible, his singing voice is amazing, and his lyrical rapping is awesome. K'Naan actually came out next and performed much to everyone's surprise and since my friends and I had arrived about 4 hours early, were touching the stage from front row. I've been to over 40 concerts, and K'Naan was hands down the best (Coldplay being the 2nd). He sounds better live than on recording, he interacted with the crowd literally the entire time, and he played all sorts of songs he does not have recorded. His performance was truly a sight to behold. 8th wonder of the world. Wale was pretty damn good too and was really good with crowd interaction and had K'Naan come back out to perform for a few more songs together. EVERYONE GO SEE THIS SHOW, ESPECIALLY K'NAAN AND JOHN FORTE!

I can always depend on K'Naan giving a beautiful show. This is my third time seeing him and even though I HATE the HOB Boston, the Mezzanine level wasn't too bad. By the time Wale got on, people bounced out and we were able to get a spot by the railing to look down and watch Wale. Though I haven't been listening to him faithfully, I'm a new fan. I really appreciated Wale's style and enjoyed the show in general.

Great show John Forte was very positive, and humble. WALE was very versatile w his style of rap and music choices it was not just your monotonous music everyone else is doing. My fav of course, K'naan, his performance was all about positivity, real lyricisim. He talked about his homeland and gave a heartfelt testimony about his life struggles as an immigrant. He really opens up to the crowd and shows u who he is. The surprise guests of the night were NAS and Damian Marley who gave a sample of their collab of music they r working on 2gether. Unforgettable!!

When I arrived, the mood was being set by a soulful John Forté. Lyrically dope, cerebrally mesmerizing. Then Wale came on and wrecked the place. Simply awesome, although at times the audience seemed to have mixed reactions and was not as energetic as I thought they would be. But K'naan really gave it to us. From ballads and odes that he made the audience shut up for, to eardrum-shattering anthems, to little anecdotes in between I can say with a fair amount of confidence that K'naan is the best live performer I've seen. That list includes the Rolling Stones, U2, Kanye's Glow in the Dark, Major Lazer, Mos Def, Jay-z etc. K'naan killed them all. Oh, and his guest spots were epic. Wale, Nas and Damian Marley each did a song with K'naan, and then Dam and Nas did a song from Distant Relatives. Any and every chance I have to see K'naan again I would go in an instant.

Seeing K'NAAN perform his songs really changed my perspective of him as a person. I used to look at him as just a regular artist from Somalia but when I saw him live and saw the emotion behind every song that he sang, I'm literally speechless. The fact that someone can go through so many rough trials and tribulations yet turn around and turn each experience into something so beautiful and passionate is astounding to me. I have a new respect for K'NAAN and i recommend everyone to go to a concert of his. It's worth the money, the drive, and you won't be disappointed. Guaranteed!!!!

Most of K'naan's tour was cancelled with the exception of four dates and based on his musings during the show I'm guessing that's in part because of the criticism he's received for going "pop" on this new album. Well let me tell you, if you went to this show, you would see that the old K'naan never went away- he is just growing. He and his awesome band played tracks from all three of his albums with so much energy and emotion that it was almost overwhelming. The crowd was so hype, you couldn't help but dance along. I fell in love with K'naan the first time I saw him perform and I fell in love with him (and the whole crew- I love me some Rayzak) all over again. K'naan never disappoints his fans and makes believers out of his critics.

K'naan is an amazing performer! He, and the rest of the band, held your attention the entire time and really got you into whatever mood they wanted you to be. I recommend you see K'naan while he still tours! His opening band, City Of The Sun, was absolutely amazing! I got lucky because I'm really into the guitar/flamenco styled duo's and watching them perform was jaw-dropping. They are visibly really into what they do and they are amazing at it! Look them up if you haven't heard of them! It's worth it!

Basically, K'naan is an amazing artist with a phenomenal personality and powerful charisma. He was spontaneous and full of energy, and there was a great dynamic between the performers and the crowd. The space was small enough that even though I wasn't close to the stage I wasn't far and could see him unaided. The space was a little cold. This was my second mainstream concert ever, the first being some metal band my friend was really into that I didn't get at all.

paper tongues was awesome live, even playing without their bass player who could not attend due to a death in the family. Still, they came out firing with great energy and played six or seven songs, finally ending with an emotionally-intense version of get higher then a highly energetic version of ride to california. k'naan was all passion, mixing old and new hits, with great renditions of wavin flag and take a minute, involving the crowd in both. Very good show.

My first visit to Webster Hall was well worth the wait. My daughter and her friends wanted to see K'Naan, who I knew little about, and I said she could as long as I went too. Great call. Great venue and great show. K'naan threw it down with some a cappella and rock versions of his classics. The venue is small and intimate. I was able to move freely from my 5th row spot to the bar with ease. The only downside is that 16 and up were allowed in and the young ones couldn't handle themselves, but they were easily enough avoided.

I have always loved his music, but I expected he would be a laid back performer. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Overall the show was fantastic. From start to finish, his rhyming ability and passion behind the messages in his songs kept my eyes glued to the stage from start to finish. On the downside, many in attendance, particularly those clogging the front of the stage, became a huge distraction physically, since they would not let others to the front to connect with K'naan, and socially, since they have no clue what the songs were and only attended to take digital camera pics to prove "they were there". Aside from those usual setbacks, the show was a great, from the beginning to the encore, and its greatness was extended after the show she my man K'naan was gracious enough to sign fan merchandise, including my ticket stub. I would highly recommend his shows to anyone and look forward to seeing him again.

Something you wouldn't want to miss. K'Naan was brilliant, he had the swag and the whole show was deep and fun. Everything was legit, Bruno Mars was great too, and really funny. Moving concert. You want to see K'Naan live before you die!

Negative aspect: -Long waiting line not dealt with immediatly - Disorganized concert because the time in between acts is waaayyyy tooooo long (about 30-40 minutes standing there just waiting for what comes next - Very dissapointed by Wale's perfomance, very unprofessionnal, did not make any effort, seemed to me like he was high!!! Positive aspects: -The best opening acts you could ever get -Passionnate fun loving croud -K'naan just killed the show....he was awsome+awsome=awsomer!!! Period

knaan is spectacular live and a must see for every fan of him. the opening acts were not so good though. the first act was a not well known artist who got little response from the crowd and john forte was good but did not fit the vibe of the concert.

K'Naan commanded the stage, transitioned effortlessly between genres and was a charming performer. My only complaint is that the drunks sitting behind me couldn't truly appreciate his storytelling and just felt like dancing. His words and life narrative are truly inspiring. His music makes so much more sense live than on record. I wish he shared with us some new music that wasn't on "Troubadour." I was crossing my fingers for an encore, but the crowd was lame and simply not committed enough. I cannot wait to attend another one of his shows. Wale has potential to be a great live performer, but he needs to let go of hip hop cliches (long intro from the DJ; hype man; audience participation; fast acapella rapping, etc.), hire a band and bring that gogo sound to life! He should go out on tour with non hip hop acts - this strategy did worlds of good to Jay-Z's live performances, who also notoriously fell on the same cliches early in his career.

Wale was aight. Knaan was ridiculous considering it was a long tour and this was routine for them. He's energetic and electrifying.

The show was good. I enjoyed John Forte in the beginning despite his corny white boy crew. A little too much waiting between that and Wale, with the DJ clearly purposely stalling for a long time in a way that started to feel annoying and disrespectful to the crowd. I have no idea what the big deal is about Wale. Not so great and sort of a half rip off of Lupe and Kanye rolled into one. Was not diggin his music. K'Naan had a live band which is always engaging and actually managed to tell stories to the crowd, really commanded attention, and rocked out. I appreciate the integrity of his music and the fact that he is not self-righteous but still brings his personal and political experiences to bear. It's a rare feat.

i have seen Wale and K'NAAN separately before but when they performed together it was FIRE!!! Definately will go see them again if I get the chance. John Forte was great and I liked Tabi as well. Overall great performance by every artist that was present at the event.

In a phenomenal performance by all three musicians, they stole the hearts and enlightened the minds of a sold-out House of Blues crowd in Boston last week. This was my third attendance at a K'Naan performance (the first just over a year ago at Harper's Ferry) and the first time I have seen both Wale and John Forte.

It was hard to get into the show because I could hardly hear it. The sound was terrible; you heard some instruments more than others and it was also hard to hear K'naan. K'naan deserved better sound quality. Also, wasn't Wale opening for K'naan and not the other way around? I didn't understand why Wale was coming after K'naan--I felt like we were cheated from a potentially great show.

The energy of this show was unbelievable! K'Naan & Wale aren't your typical rappers, they returning hiphop to something that it used to be (lyricsm, social conciousness, the story of the struggle, etc) so of course they brought the house DOWN! After K'Naan I felt almost...cleansed. He's such a testimony to destiny--what a success story that guy is. All the acts did really well and kept the crowd goin despite several hours on our feet--they even gave a pretty long encore! Just couldn't get enough! One the best shows I've been to.

I went in not knowing what to expect considering I only knew a couple of Wale's songs and never heard any music of K'NAAN's and John Forte's own music.. I also wasn't expecting the place to be packed which it was! Both performances were good, the energy was there and for the songs that I didnt know of I liked. I would see them again!!!!

The greatest 1st concert experience ever. K'naan and Wale both killed it, and the guest appearence by Nas and Damian Marley was the icing on the cake. Plus it was kool 2 see that K'naan wasnt a self-centered, mike hog like some other artist as good as him are.

This concert was awesome all around. I even enjoyed the opening acts!! Wale came out and did his thing. I only knew a few of his songs but I'm officially a fan now! D.C. put it down! K'naan was everything I expected and more! He killed it! No he massacred it! and then Nas came out and I was SICK (slang for very excited)!!!!!!!! That made my night and Damian marley did it up too! I can't wait for his next concert. You're welcome in NYC anytime!!
