It s amazing how great Felix sounds after all these years. Special bonus this year more of their hits and less 10 minute digressions. Fantastic!

The 1st I saw the Rascals at Westbury was in 1968. I have seen them several times since - as well as Vanilla Fudge. With the addition of Carmine Appice on drums, it brought back memories of both bands. The band looked like the were having a great time. My seats were awesome. Felix, Gene and Carmine even stayed to sign autographs - which was a super plus for me. The song set was all Rascal tunes - which was great. Ronnie Specter was a sensational opener. There was a lot of Rock Royalty in the building that night.

This was an amazing show the band was exceptionally tight refreshing and spot on! Special guest drummer Carmine Appice was spot-on amazing and brillant as usual great to watch and really added his style with respectfully taste Groove and space to all the great old rock and roll Rascals hitd. If you get a chance get a ticket and see these guys before the tour ends. I know in October the band is playing Town Hall in NYC so if you want to go see a great show go get tickets before they sell out. GIDDY UP! DON STIXZ REVIEW

This show was not "just" the The Rascals.............It was a Program produced by Steven Van Zandt and intended to tell a story about an American Blue Eyed Band that made an impression on the music scene in the 60's when most eyes were focused on he British Bands and Motown scene. The story is pretty fascinating, yet not really told well enough during the show. Was the music good? Yes, but could have been better. Eddie Brigati acted like a fool with his weird dancing and non stop tambourine playing. His voice was horrendous on the opening song, but improved as the two hours progressed. Dino Dinneli on Drums, was good, but I guess age has a way of catching up with musicians, as he was once regarded as the best that Rock had to offer. Gene Cornish was just OK on lead guitar. Most that attended in the "half audience" at the Hard Rock Live, didn't know that the Show was called "Once Upon a Dream" (the name of their 3rd Album" and was supposed to document their career, or at least that portion of it. The Show was not publicized enough and I overheard a lot of people mention that they had no idea there would be a lot of talking and stopping and going of the music. But, all in all, I left satisfied as I enjoyed the Music, vocals, and genius of Felix Caveliere, the heartbeat of this Great American band.

Totally boring. Played a few hits scattered among a load of songs you never heard of. The show could have been 30 minutes with their hits, but was stretched out to 2 hours with in fills of numerous unknown songs. A totaly bore. Many left early.

The rascals was the most fun I've had at a concert, and I go to many. They sounded good--havent really played for over 40 yrs. They did every song in their songbook and then some. They had each member discuss their career in videos on a big screen behind the stage and to hear about their evolution was awesome. I stepped back into time that night and hope they stay around awhile--they deserve to. Thank God for putting the miracle of the (young) rascals back on stage where they belong!!

The Rascals were amazing in this "Once Upon a Dream" combination concert / theatrical event at the Hard Rock !! The Rascals are Felix Cavaliere (keyboard, vocals), Eddie Brigati (vocals), Gene Cornish (guitar), and Dino Danelli (drums). They put on a great show !! They played all of The Rascals greatest hits such as Good Lovin', Groovin', A Beautiful Morning, People Got to be Free, A Ray of Hope, Heaven, You Better Run, I've Been Lonely Too Long, A Girl Like You, How Can I Be Sure, It's Wonderful, and more. They were all fantastic !! They also performed other songs such as Mickey's Monkey (Miracles), Slow Down (Beatles), Two Many Fish in the Sea (Marvellettes), and others. The backdrop / screen basically told the story of The Rascals from the beginning. It would alternate from "story then live performance" and so on for the entire show. The show lasted two full hours with no intermission. One very interesting part of the story was when Eddie was 19, he was in a major car accident and was in a coma for three days. When he awoke, he couldn't remember anything....except Rascals songs. Amazing !! This was a fantastic show / concert to see !! The Rascals were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on May 6, 1997. Richly deserved !! One of the greatest groups of all-time !! What a magnificent evening !!

Wow.....To think all four members were together after 40 years! Enjoyed the show. It was definitely a flash back to the 60's. The "young" Rascals were the first ever band I saw in the 60's and it meant a lot to me to see them again. They were amazing. It was a well put together production - Thank you Stevie - Was worth seeing especially if you loved them back in the 60's.

Saw Rascals Once Upon a Dream and this show is totally fantastic!!! The band sounds AMAZING live, with really great production, lighting, video throughout the show... We could hardly believe how great they sound, and plan to see the show on tour, too. Anyone who has ever enjoyed the Rascals music, "Groovin," "Good Lovin'" "How Can I Be Sure" "Its a Beautiful Morning" and more you are in for a terrific experience. The light show is stellar, and how they tell their story through video montage is so worth seeing and very entertaining! Most of all the KICKS it. The whole experience is unforgettable...we highly recommend it! Rock on, Rascals!

I had awaited the reunion of the Rascals for a long time and would have gone to the Rochester show had I not had another obligation that night, but I don't think I would have gotten the seat I got there. (the weather was a little scary that night though and that was on my mind a tad). I had attended his Rochester Music Hall of Fame ceremony and met him at the red carpet with Felix, but he told me previously that a reunion was in the works . The guys were in good spirits and full of energy. Each had their shining moments and sounded wonderful. Myself and some audience members did get a small dancing rally going and I actually got to meet Gene's Canadian family. I was in Heaven in the front row and gene threw several picks my way- I got two of them :)

First, let me say that I love the Rascals music and was a huge fan in the day. My high school band played a lot of their music. From the opening song It's Wonderful" I knew this was going to be a long night. Eddie struggled to sing on key and they had background singers on stage to sing their harmony because they could not. The background was this psychedelic light show that was not only distracting but if you suffered from migrains you could not look at. And let's face it, at our age, I'm sure that affected many in the audience. The show was produced as if they were trying to recreate "Jersey Boys". After almost every song they would tell the story (recorded) of how they got together and history of the group. It really broke the momentum of the crowd trying to get into the music. And Eddie, PLEASE stop "prancing" and dancing around the stage with the tambourines.

Little Steven did an amazing job of putting together a show that honored The Rascals - the men, the music and the era. The boys from the Bronx and New Jersey came together again after 43 years when in 1970 The Rascals split. A 2 hour concert of non-stop music, nostalgic visuals and narration by the band members themselves singing their repertoire of famous songs and a few other well known songs from the era.

When my husband and I heard the announcement - "all four original band members" - we stared at each other in amazement. Too good to be true! I don't think we could have been any happier if the Beatles had gotten back together for a night. We were not disappointed. From the time the curtain went up to the final number, we were transported, not only to our personal youth, but to the world scene at that time along with a reminder of its unrealized dreams. Musically, these guys have not lost a thing. Felix's voice - strong as ever. Dino's drums - his showmanship is matched by his artistry. All four of them clearly were having a blast. As a side note, I've never been in an older audience! Since the group has not done anything musically since 1970, they have attracted no new fans. There was a lot of up and down - bladder issues and the need for a drink? Rude And no Midnight Hour/Mustang Sally

Ronnie Spector was the warm up and she and the Ronettes were fabulous. Felix Cavelieri had great energy but I was a little disappointed in the playlist. They concentrated on the more edgy albums and it wasn't until the very end that they played my favorites. The lounge experience is great and I'll definitely do that again.

I was fortunate enough to sit in the 3rd row for the 7-20-18 Rascals concert at the NYCB Theatre. The concert opened with The Ronettes who performed their big hits and were an absolute pleasure. The band and background vocals were right-on and were not too loud. I thoroughly enjoyed the Ronettes doing the dances of the sixties. I was surprised when I learned that Brian Wilson had written 'Dont Worry Baby' for Roni Spector. They ended their set with 'Be My Baby'. After a short break The Rascals came on.... Gene Cornish and Felix Cavaliere being the original members. As soon as they went into the first song I noticed Carmine Appice on the drums. I thought this is excellent as Carmine is a really good drummer. As The Rascals moved through their setlist I became more disappointed. The sound was not good. Constant feedback. I could barely hear Felix Cavaliere's vocals and keyboards. The second thing I found disappointing was Carmine Appice's interpretation of Dino Danelli's drum parts. I wanted to hear the Rascals songs the way I have heard them done and performed for the past 50 years. Carmine changed a lot of the beats, fills, and feels. As a drummer it disappointed me. These are classics. No disrespect to Carmine... but I wanted to hear the Rascals... not an interpretation of the Rascals. Some of the highlights... a blistering version of 'What is the Reason'. A wonderful version of 'Lonely too Long'. The bass player sang 'How can I be sure' and did a nice job. Gene Cornish played rhythm guitar and the leads were done by the second guitarist. Felix was wonderful and did his best to keep the audience involved. I will always love the Rascals but this concert was a bit disappointing.

Awesome show ! Great setlist, covering their career nicely. Felix, Gene, & Carmine did not keep fans waiting, as they met us right after the show in the lobby. Felix Cavielieri is still at the top of his game. His voice is great, he makes the organ sing . wonderful concert. However for as great as Felix was, why is he carrying Gene Cornish with him- he did nothing, did not sing, did not play and just stood there. I for one do not understand why Felix needs to carry this guy, really! Felix alone with his band were great- special callout to Carmine on drums he rocked...

Felix still in good form but, show needs alot of fine tuning! Too many songs sounded like band and Felix on organ/keyboard were out of sync. Sometimes even sounded like they were playing and singing in two different keys. Hopefully, they'll practice together a bit and future shows will be better. Also, Rascals had enough hits on their own to fill the show. Why are they singing other groups songs?

Amazing show - unbelievable that all 4 original Rascals were on stage and in fine form. They sung many of the biggest hits in their extensive catalog. They were great performers too. The videos were great, talking about the history of the band and certain songs, which led right into the group singing the song they were just talking about. A great show all the way around!

The Rascals are American music legends and this show reflected the personality, the inspiration and the talent of these four musicians. The music combined with the video wall show and lighting provided a retrospective, nostalgic and very entertaining evening. Adding in the Felix, Eddie, Gene and Dino's pre-recorded rememberances plus old photos as well as video clips with the live performance told the Rascals story so very well. A thoroughly enjoyable and nostalgic evening for me. Thank you...

The musical performance and visuals did not coordinate well. The writing of the narration was weak. With the exception of a handful of well-known songs, the over-aged, overweight Rascals would have been wise to forego their "creative" reunion. Add to the mix, very poor sound - tinny and at times, very loud. Kudos for Felix, who still has it. And Dino still shows some dazzle with the sticks. Bottom line ... better ways to spend my time and money ($75/ticket).

Loved the show. Very well written, positive and uplifting. Some critics complained there wasn't enough about 'the breakup' but I like that they didn't dwell on that. This is about healing and understanding and the fabulous music that these guys created. I would have liked to see live actors portraying the flashback scenes, but the effect of the taped scenes was enough to give you a sense of the times. Felix and Eddie's vocals were phenomenal, but I did sense that Eddie was struggling a bit with his voice. Had difficulty hearing him at times. Could have been the audio mixer, though...I am no expert! He certainly nailed "How Can I Be Sure".

I grew up with Rascals and being a drummer I have played many of their songs. The band has not missed a beat( excuse the pun) especially given their age. Although most have not aged well physically, they still have the chops to perform like they were rookies. Having not played together in many years they came together almost flawlessly, I would definitely recommend this show. The video screen behind them explaining the history of the group was very informative and done very well. My wife who is not a follower of most music really enjoyed the show...and if the wife's happy...everybody's happy...we had a great night...

Hats go off to Stevie and Maureen Van Zandt for getting the Rascals back together and producing the incredible show. What a great concept! It was the Jersey Boys except you had the actual Rascals. Felix and Eddie's vocals were strong. Backup Singers made it that much better. Felix's work on the Hammond B-3, Gene's great guitar work and the drumming of Dino was fabulous. Eddie can still dance with the best of them. Great show, great crowd and great venue (Shea's Buffalo)!

We saw the show on Broadway back in May and the performance in Buffalo was every bit as good. Only one teeeny tiny gripe. They added in intermission (there was not one on Broadway) and I thought it disrupted the flow of the show. Not sure if the guys wanted it or the venues on tour wanted it so they could sell more concessions. Again, it was not a big deal, but I just thought I;d say that. Still, this show is 2 hours and 20 minutes of Rock & Roll bliss. These guys still have it!!

Growing up playing the organ, the Rascals were always my favorite group. From maybe 1988 when they got together for an Atlantic records tribute, I have really only had been able to follow Felix who appeared in Niagara Falls a few times in the past. Our drummer wore the US flag shirt that Dino had. I wore the tam that Felix wore on his head. So great to see all those old photos and clips portrayed as the songs were played. Growing from a four piece group with no bass player to the nine piece group that entertained us, the music and mix was incredible. MY all time favorite song is A Beautiful Morning. I quoted it at my moms funeral as she also loved the song. It was perfect with all of the Mardin orchestration captured on the keyboards. Memorable night and an appreciating crowd will always be remembered.

Rascals fans were pinching themselves. The original four were together again and touring. Talk about "Once Upon A Dream." Felix, Eddie, Dino and Gene did not disappoint. The show was so much more than a greatest hits lovefest, it was the story of the band and the times. We were transported back to the heady daze of psychedelia, flower power and coming of age. And The Rascals provided the perfect soundtrack. It's been over 40 years and the boys haven't lost a step. A very groovy evening.

The not-so-young Rascals can definitely still sing. Their story was interesting, but the production of it could definitely use some more polish--I think we were expecting the visual storytelling to be more along the lines of "Jersey Boys". If the visuals/ story had held the show together better, I think the band members would not have had to depend on showmanship so much--which, after a certain age--well, it just didn't work. Sorry guys. When I closed my eyes, you sounded great.

The best concert I've seen out of dozens. Their performance was the truest to the original sound recordings. I'd see them many more times if they came to town. Love the Rascals!

My favorite 60's band, and they did NOT disappoint me 50 years later!! They played every favorite song, and sounded the same as before! I loved it! I loved the recap of the 60's on the back-stage screen.

Being a fan for many, many years, I really didn't know what to expect. I had read that is was a little different. The Fox is such a good venue that you can hardly go wrong. What a great surprise this show was. ALL their songs and stories to go with them were amazing. Took me back to my teen years cruising Woodward. Felix sang like he did when I saw them in the 60's. What a fun night.

combo concert and broadway show, was a delight. Rascals played well together, vocals excellent. Good homor, we forget how good they were and the great songs. Alot of 60's history. For rock n' rollers over 55, required course..

This was really a great show! The Rascals had quite a few big hits and memorable songs in the 60's, before fading away. Coming back was a wonderful idea - Thank you, Stevie Van Zandt! Besides playing their music, there was a series of speeches by all four of the guys, talking about their lives and times before, during, and after the creation of the group. The music was well-done, and they all seemed to be having a great time on stage, and the audience responded in kind. We thouroughly enjoyed every moment of the show.

The 60's hits of the Rascals have become musical icons of our generation. To have them back on stage together just confirms they never really left us, because their songs have become an indelible part of our lives. Like the band members, the production was a little rough and the voices showed that time has passed for all of us, but the genius of their lyrics and music lives on.

All I can say is THESE GUYS STILL GOT IT! Just amazing how great they sound and the show was better than a concert, with the multi media back story. If you are a hard core '60's fan, you MUST go.

Had I just gone to see a Rascals concert, I am sure it would have been fine, but the beauty of how this was presented is that they provided the story behind the music and that is what really took it to the next level.

The Rascals "Once Upon A Dream" show was definitely worth the price of admission! Eddie's & Felix's voices sound awesome. They sound like they did on all their hits! If you're even thinking about going to this show, DO IT! It is more than a concert. They sound fantastic!

The Young Rascals was the first concert I ever attended as a young man, and I fell in love with their sound from day 1. And As a Band member back in the late 60's we played a lot of the Young Rascals music. Everyone would get on the floor and dance. I had a smile on my face for the entire concert reminiscing those glory days. I wish they would have united sooner.... We missed you guys! Best of Luck on your tour.

What a surprise! Last minute purchased tickets the night prior because my Wife is in her late 40's and was not that interested in seeing the Rascals but she thought it was an excellent performance. Sound was fantastic, stage presence was excellent and the back up singers added so much substance to the songs.

The Rascals have remarkably resurrected the 60's with voice, instruments, and audio visuals. A great mix of New Jersey brash, loud, and sensitive. It felt like they enjoyed being back together as much as we enjoyed hearing and seeing them!
