Just started listening to this band this year. Their albums are very good, would probably best be described as alternative rock. Casey Mcpherson is the leader and is a wonderful singer and songwriter. The band for this show was very stripped down with Casey on keyboards and guitar, his drummer who also played some guitar and sang and a new member on electric guitar. I enjoyed hearing their songs because I am familiar with them but with they didn't sound as good as the recorded versions which are much fuller. Since it was a small venue I was able to meet and talk with the group members after the show. I hope these guys catch a break and get a hit to boost their audience. They are much better than the gigs they are playing on this tour. Please check out their recordings ,really good music compared to a lot of the garbage out today. I would go see them again and will do my best to make other people aware of AR. Opening act was Jared and The Mill from Arizona. Their drummer describes them as rocknroll with folk instruments. Country rock sound with nice vocals, bought a cd from them which I like. A bunch of young guys trying to make it in a brutal business so look them up and show some support.

Both bands performed with great energy and produce a rich sound that is phenomenal to hear live. My hope is that more "east coasters" discover these guys!

First time seeing Alpha Rev. I was going to the show for the opener Aloud, who I love and were awesome (at this point I'm not capable of giving them an unbiased review). Alpha Rev put on a fantastic show. They were extremely tight, and pulled off very impressive singing and playing, seemingly effortlessly. The set had a good pace and the singers interaction with the audience between songs was genuine and added to the overall performance. He even broke an acoustic guitar string the first song and was able to chat with the audience and keep them engaged while he very calmly and quickly changed it himself, which I thought was impressive. The rest of the band was guitar, drums, keys, with the guitarist and keyboard player filling in the bass with all sorts of crazy organ-foot-peddle contraptions (also impressive). They were all extremely good. It was a great show, a lot of fun, and I would go see them again. They reminded me of watching Superdrag and NadaSurf. Lots of energy and connection with the audience without a lot of jumping around, etc.

Saw them one other time -- small bar in Austin in 2007. Thought the same thing. Clearly a lot of personnel changes since then (and perhaps some more recent ones? They didn't have a bass player). This group was still highly talented and fun to watch.

The show was amazing!!!!!! The band is so different from everyone else, I really enjoyed myself. The venue was good, but I think it was because there weren't a ton of people there. I went to the upper room at HOB a few days later for a packed show and it was hot as ballz.
