They created a very hypnotic and original sound, with simply drums and voice. Driving asymmetric beats, haunting powerful vocals, and catchy arrangement. The singer doubled on steel pans, which created a beautiful melodic arc to the songs as well. I once described them to a friend as an updated version of "Dead Can Dance." Great record on the Leaf Label as well. I'm sure they'll be back, and for sure are gonna be huge!!

One of the best bands we have seen play at Mercury Lounge in a while. Didn't really know what to expect with just the vocalist and percussionist, but they blew us away with the first couple of drum beats. Beautifully mixed, highly emotionally charged music. Felt very primal in a way. I kept thinking I am going to get bored soon because of the lack of variation in instruments, but they stayed interesting and engaging for the entire set. The vocalist has great stamina and power in her voice. Go and see them if you get a chance.
