Kristian, lead singer, Pete Guitar, Jaime, base & horn, Adam, percutionist. OK there is A LOT to say, What an AWSOME GROUP OF DOWN HOME BRITS!!!!! The true to recording quality of their perfprmance was undeniabley the finest in "like ever" I have heard out of a new band in a long time. Their rendition of "Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here",O!M!G! I was looking for the flying pink pig! these boys are going to go far and I feel honored to have been able to be a part of their time here in Portland. They are very gracious and kind not to mention REAL. If you all get a copy of this Katlyn, Kyra, Kammi and Carey say Thank You So Much for a experience of a life time. Its all the girls, all of us, have been talking about.

I saw these guys at Southgate House this summer and loved them. This show was even better! With new material and a few covers, this is the ideal band to see in an intimate theater like 20th Century. I'll make a point to see them any time they're near.

After a friend bailed on me last minute, I thought about skipping this show. I decided to go by myself and wow, I'm glad I did....This show was excellent, I would definitely see them again! Hooray!

band has talent...needed better venue, better balance of vocal volume to instruments. Unique melodies and interpretative cover songs. Rendition of Kandi was fabulous...brought the house to the floor!

Had a fantastic time at this show. I had never heard of John Common & Blinding Flashes of Light and they totally won me over. Great songs and very personable on stage. I found out after the show, that they are a local band! I will be looking forward to seeing them around town. One Eskimo was great on stage. Very tight performance and the sound quality was clear as a bell. I would be happy to see them again. Both bands met with fans in the lobby after the show showing genuine appreciation and they really seemed to be enjoying themselves. That was a great way to end the show.

Why is it that when I go see a show at a small venue or club, it's almost always the opening act that blows me away??? This is how I discovered One Eskimo several months back, as an opening act for Gomez. I liked them enough to go see them as a headliner and wasn't nearly as impressed. They have clearly matured (grown tired?) in the six months since I saw them last. The drummer was the highlight as he was before. He has clearly invested in new technology and a fancy new cymbal array. One Eskimo should be super thankful they have him. They played 45 minutes and cut several songs down from their album length destroying at least one great track ('Amazing') which runs 4:45 on the CD. They did it in about one minute. As to the opening act, John Common and Blinding Flashes of Light... great, simply great. A mellow sound, a great look and talent, talent, talent all over the stage. Sometimes when you see a great band for the first time you are disappointed by their CD and sometimes its the other way around. I gotta say, I bought two of their 3 CDs at the show and was REALLY impressed not only by the musicality of the CDs but also the very high recording standards they had. I have heard WAY LESS professional recordings from major label acts. If these guys are in your area, GO SEE THEM! You won't be disappointed.

Amazing! These guys have their own unique sound and are very talented! They even did some Pink Floyd. Great lead singer and the drummer was outstanding and fun to watch.

I bought tickets knowing I wanted to see One eskimO. I left the Bluebird wanting and wishing I had more John Common & Blinding Flashes of Light. One eskimO put on a great show but it's always great learning and seeing another band in action. John Common and the rest of his band sang with passion.

I knew very little about this group before I went to see them. I only knew their song Kandi and was prepared for a one-hit wonder experience. We were floored to find out right away that they were exceptional musicians each one. The band was tight, their music crisp and clean, and the overall sound seemed like a room full of band members. I'd never seen a bass player play horns at the same time. The drummer was imaginative in his use of a nonconventional drum set up. The guitarist picked like he was born with one in his hand but also was great with the slide. They not only play their own great songs but also did the best cover of Wish You Were Here that I've ever heard. The singing was resonant as well. These guys will make it big, no doubt. Glad to see them in a small venue.

I've been loving this band and their music for the past few months, and it was lovely to see them and hear their amazing sound in person at the Aladdin in Portland! I imagine they will be filling up much larger venues by this time next year, so if ya want to see them in a more intimate setting, I definitely recommend catching their current Fall tour!!

We really enjoyed the show but something was up with the sound mix. We could not hear the vocals well, they seemed muddled and not very clear. We've seen a fair number of shows at the Aladin and never noticed this issue before. Otherwise it was great!

I saw One eskimO for the first time at the Earth Day concert. This band is even better in concert then they are on their CD. We just saw them at the Aladdin last Friday and again they were amazing. I have to say though, I enjoyed their more acoustic show at Earth Day concert then I did the more production concert they had Friday. We were treated to 3 new song that gave us a taste of how good the new CD will be when it comes out. After the concert they stayed and talked to their fans. What a bunch of nice guys!

You cannot help but enjoy listening to this band. I was blown away by these guys walking onto the stage, picking up their instruments and then doing what they love - making music. There is no pretenses or airs about them - nothing showy or made up - just good music that they are talented enough to write themselves. Every song is different and well done. The trumpet that is added in on some of the songs makes them (even though the guitarist is playing the trumpet and the guitar at the same time!). During a couple of the songs one member sings a falseto overlay that is truly beautiful - You cannot go wrong if you go see this up and coming group.....what I couldn't figure out is why there weren't more people there.........Also loved the trumpet, drummer and the falseto.......every band member added alot, each is very talented. The warm up band was awsome too!

One eskimO is definitely on their way! They have a very cool unassuming stage presence with the spot light being shared equally amongst these 4 very talented musicians. They performed many of the songs from their debut CD as well as a Totally Awesome rendition of the Pink Floyd Cover. The horn, a vital anchor to their sound, was sometimes lost in the acoustics but whatever! They were still GREAT! In the end, no one was left sitting! The only suggestion I would offer would be to loose the motorcycle headlight. It was so bright I had to put my hand up to shade my eyes so I could see the band and the drummer was invisible behind the glare. The solo drum piece with the glowing sticks were barely visible due to the bright headlight, too bad because I am sure it would have been AWESOME! I would go to see them again, and will! Great band, great venue. Thank you.

I had heard a couple of their songs on Kink fm radio and liked them. Looked them up on the internet to find out more about them. Found their CD at Borders and love it! Found out they were playing in Portland so we bought tickets. Most of the people I talked to haven't heard of them. I had posted video clips of their songs "Kandi" and "Amazing" on my facebook page to get friends to listen. Got alot of "Like" responses. Wasn't sure what kind of audience age-wise they would attract. We're in the mid 40's crowd. There was a wide range of ages there, teens to older than us. The concert was awesome! My husband loved the Pink Floyd song they did. Even the opening band Honeychild was good! Hope to hear more music from One eskimO in the near future!

The guys are amazing musicians. The lighting guy does a great job of making the show even more exciting. The drummer's set up is awesome! He also does some keyboard work. I can't believe the bass player is also the horn player and a few other things. The guitarist is spot-on perfect. The songs were exactly what I'd hoped for. It was worth waiting out in the freezing cold in Portland, OR for the extra 40 minutes needed for sound check. What would've made my rating a 5 star is if they hadn't had their warm-up band come out at all AND if we hadn't have had to wait the extra time in the freezing cold.
