Jonsi is a remarkable musician. In this concert, his high energy, upbeat music is complemented by some lovely staging and video. Don't miss it!

This was, hands down, the best concert I've ever been to (thus competing with Missy Higgins, the Black Eyed Peas, La Roux, and Lady Gaga's Monster Ball.) The musical performance was absolutely breathtaking; every element that could have been was live, every musician put their entire being into their performance, the technical element was exceptionally wonderful, and Jónsi was just amazing. This was the most moving performance of any live performance I've seen. Every song was executed in such a poignant way that it felt like more than just an audiovisual experience; it felt like Jónsi and the others onstage were actually reaching out and communicating with each of us, or at least this was my impression. I particularly remember Stars in Still Water (the very quiet first song of the concert,) Hengilás, Kolniður, Icicle Sleeves, and Tornado really moving me and blowing me away, and then feeling so excited and lifted up by Go Do and Animal Arithmetic. And then the final song, which in this setlist was Grow Till Tall... holy crap. That's all I can say about that. The opening act, Mountain Man, put on a superb and highly enjoyable performance, and their set was neither self-indulgent nor too drawn out, like some others I've seen. I was actually sad when they were done, and that's never happened to me before! Most concerts just leave me feeling so bored the next day (you go to an exhilarating show, then you go home to your silent bedroom and life seems boring.) Jónsi's show, on the other hand, felt like a reminder of how beautiful everything can be and how much I appreciate being alive right now (this sounds incredibly cheesy, but words are failing me, so bear with me please.) If this absurdly long review should tell you anything, it should be this: GO SEE THIS SHOW.

I was so lucky to see this amazing over seas artist live. I will never forget it! I was dumbfounded by the amazing artist backdrops! An very much so enjoyed the opening act Mountain Man, thought it very much so complemented his style of music. The only bad thing about it was the sound systems sometimes were so loud the music dominated the sound of his voice.

From beginning to end seamless...I was expecting so much less and walked out with so much more. The croud was a bit dull, all standing there like they were in a gallery or something. I could have sat through many more hours of that

From the vocals, instruments, to the background scenery, it felt like magic. It was hard when the show ended to go back to the real world. I wanna go again. Jonsi is amazing, his band is amazing. They kept going one song after the other. Who ever did the art work for the background scenery is amazing. It went together perfectly. Jonsi voice of an angel, his drummer was incredible.

Saw Jonsi at the Fox for the 2nd time this year. I have to admit that Zellerbach was a better venue for their visual set but was still amazing. Highly recommend this show. Best one of the year.

I love music and go to shows all the time: 1) the venue sucked with a bunch of ushers from Oakland who must be used to being in power positions and enjoying telling people what to do. I wont see another show there unless it is some I really like. 2) The first band sucked it was like watching the band Heart do a 45 minute acapela encore. 3) comes out wearing a cape looking thing, does 45 minutes of acoustic material, none of which I could understand and in a high pitch voice that was irritating. Then launches into his dream-like songs which I tried and tried to like but I couldnt. I ended up leaving half way because it was just too painful. I am happy for those people who stayed. And I am happy for Jonsi who can make his art, god bless him. But it was the worst show ive seen in years and I can say that im a musician,.

Unfortunately, the sound quality in the upper balcony was awful. Even the quieter songs sounded like a mish mash of sound. The musicianship was stellar, but the mix wasn't right. Jonsi's voice was painfully loud. Overall it was a good show, but I was dissappointed. I have come to love Sigur Ros but it seems as though Jonsi as a solo act lacks the dynamic energy and musical diversity that Sigur Ros has.

First off, totally glad I paid the extra five bucks for vip. There was a loveseat with my lady's and my name on it. It was like watching the whole show from the comfort of your own home. The one draw back was the handrail which was avoided by slouching slightly. Arrrived in time to catch a few songs by the mountain men. The Jonsi scrim was beautiful. It transformed into various locales via video projectors as well as the decayed "LCD" screens to the edges of the stage. The band killed it all the way to the encore where it came to an apocalyptic climax. Great show! Highly recommended!

Jonsi was the most unforgettable, memorable, beautiful and incredible show I have ever seen. I'm a fan of Sigur Ros and my boyfriend is in the music business so we go to a lot of shows and concerts and this was the best show we have ever seen. It was a theater show, a rock concert, a life changing experience that has everything you could ever want from entertainment. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Jónsi's beautful songs come to tinkling, squealing, thumping life at his stage show. The musicians played a wonderfully tight show, the lighting design and animation projected onto the stage were enchanting, and the whole experience was inspiring and life-affirming. It's hard not to love this show with Jónsi's sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyful lyrics and his angelic voice.

I am a hardcore Sigur Ros fan, and I had seen their first show in HOLLYWOOD BOWL few years ago and I thought it was the best concert I had ever been. I also listened to some of the songs from the GO album on the radio and I expected the concert to be a yuppy version of Sigur. But Jonsi was very in form, very creative, just like his old band Sigur Ros. I was impressed with the animations he provided on the back screen and I thought it was the best addition to his music.

I have had tears in my eyes during a live musical performance exactly three times in my life. The first was hearing Richard Strauss's Alpine Symphony in its entirety at the Disney Concert Hall, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel; it was transporting. The second was hearing the Yorkshire Boys Choir performing an Evensong at York Minster - their voices reverberating off stones placed there half a millenium ago and filling the immense catherdral with the voices of the angels; even for a non-christian it was moving beyond words. And the last was monday night at the Fox Theater in Pomona hearing Jonsi. I purposely sought out seeing this show in a small venue, and I'm extraordinarily happy that I did. Even being familiar with the album I still had no idea what Jonsi was saying - but it didn't matter. This show is the culmination of many years of perfecting the emotion and psychology of sound - and now with his own band he has created a master work. The sound and mix were superb, the performers note-perfect and so precise it might as well have been running on a computer, but while still retaining a human quality so palpable that by the end I felt like I had been born, lived, and died through these ninety minutes. It was sad beyond words, beautiful beyond comparison, and at the same time so uplifting that I could almost fly. There is an element of hope in this music that breaks out of the darkness of Sigur Ros, and by the end of the final song, which finishes with nothing but a pounding bass drum and strobe flashes, I was so overcome with emotion that for a moment I honestly didn't think I could take it. But then we were all released, and after the curtain call it left the entire audience stunned, turning to each other for recognition of what we had just experienced. We all shared the same expression, our walls had been broken down, and the reverberation of the experience would continue through me for the rest of the evening as I drove home in the rain. This is in the top five shows I've ever seen, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone that can get lost in music and let it take you on a ride. Thanks Jonsi.

This show was unique because the visual aspect was just as important as the auditory. Between the videos playing on the backdrop, the outfit choices, and the passion put into the music, this show was unforgettable.

This show was unbelievably beautiful. Sound level was perfect - not too loud, not too quiet. Movement around the venue was relatively easy. The one major criticism I had of the venue was the smell, it smelled seriously like public bathroom the whole show. It came in waves, which was really distracting and gross. But Jonsi made it worth it. Best concert ever.

I had never heard of Mountain Man, and not only was it amusing to find out it was a female trio, but they were a simple and pleasant opener. A few years ago I got a chance to drive to Michigan with some friends to see Sigur Ros, but I declined (perhaps because I had gotten into them less than a year prior so a 3.5 hours-drive seemed excessive, I don't know). Of course, it was only months after this folly that I really began to become obsessed with Sigur Ros, and I have kicked myself for not going. So imagine my excitement when I heard Jonsi was releasing a solo album. I pre-ordered it, and loved every track on the album. Jonsi live was even more incredible than the album. I could try to explain the experience, but I do not think I am poetic enough to do so. Let's just leave it at "life-altering."

This show was truly something I have never experienced, the music along with the lighting and graphic design work from fiftynineproductions was an awe inspiring spectacle of mass proportions. I have have seen many great live shows in my young 19 years on this earth, from The Flaming Lips acid tripping thrill ride live set, to Wilco's unbelievably precise and chaotic performance, but Jonsi is just set apart. He is able to evoke amazing emotions and feelings from his music and that is something many cannot do. The music symbolizes beauty and triumph for me in a world that most often seems the opposite. Thank you Jonsi for a wonderful night.

When I saw Sigur Ros live 2 years ago it was a rebirth for me as a human. I cried, became speechless, and believed with every single cell in my body that the world was a beautiful place. Seeing Jonsi only 2 days ago was re-rebirth. If re-rebirth isn't a word, then it is quite fitting because there are no words in existence to describe what witnessing this concert is like. You have to see it for yourself to understand. It made everything that was insignificant wash away into disappearance and brought everything that is important up to the forefront. It was beautiful, awe inspiring, stunning, mesmerizing, wonderful, uplifting, otherworldly, amazing, lovely, and gorgeous. And even if you were to combine the power of all those adjectives into one word, it still wouldn't be able to truly match how powerful the show is.

I have been to many shows in my young life, from classics like James Taylor, Carole King, Elton John, and Billy Joel to much more contemporary artists like John Mayer and Jason Mraz, but this show was by far the most beautiful and inspiring musical performance I have ever witnessed. Jonsi's energy and hauntingly beautiful falsetto alone are enough to sell this show, but there is so much more to it. Mountain Man, a three-piece, harmonizing, female folk trio opened the show with their own style and truly set the pace for the night, relaxed yet still somehow upbeat. It was clear instantly that what was to be heard was real, intelligent, intricate music, and Jonsi did not disappoint. The complicated melodies and variety of instruments were brought to life on stage. It was unlike anything I have ever heard and in the best of ways. Even having been able to see Sigur Ros a couple of years ago, Jonsi's solo performance will still stand out in my mind as one of the most electrifying experiences of my life.

I ve been going to the Newport for decades, since it was the Agora Ballroom; it s a fine old beat-up hall with decent acoustics \u2014 yeah they could clean it up but the next crowd would just pour beer all over it again. We couldn t see well because of the crowd hugging the rail but could hear just fine. The openers, Mountain Man, have extraordinary voices and were more impressive than their cd indicated they d be. Jonsi and company were outstanding. The band was nearly flawless, and had fine stage presence. As a drummer, I found the percussion team pretty damn awesome. The sound was excellent; the visuals too, for the most part. The Newport s funky quasi-deteriorating architectural ornamentation enhanced the video and lights perfectly. Those several times during the show's building climax when the percussionists revved it up and the full sound wall crashed over the audience were the best for me. Quality showmanship all the way, for a fairly short (it timed at 90 minutes, but they ended the main set at 1:08, then two encores) but very well structured show. The only downside to the show (aside from the tall guy right in front of us at the rail) was a ridiculous parking garage problem \u2014 we and many other concertgoers were trapped in the darn thing for more than a half an hour due to some sort of gate malfunction. OSU needs to fix that thing! Superior show all around. Totally worth the effort to see. I'd rate it 4 1/2 stars if they'd let me.

Show was supposed to start at 7pm, everyone was lined up around 6pm. It was very cold outside, and they didn't let us in until about 7:15. Opening act, Mountain Man, who were perfect, started around 8pm. They played about 30 min, then Jonsi's crew came up and set up, then another 30 min or so, Jonsi came out. Like I said the performances were fantastic, but it would be nice if events like this were sorta on time.

Even if you hated quality music, this show would be in the top 5 live preformances. The visuals, the mood, the set list, the dynamics, the lighting, incredible. Add on top of that some of the best musicians, all rotating around from instrument to instrument to give such a full dynamic sound that you have a hard time can be controlled by 5 people. Loved every second of it. Captured everyone's attention from the first note on.

The opening three chicks were uninteresting and Jonsi continued to be also. His songs aren't that strong and his light show is about as interesting as a windows screen saver. Their little intervals of them playing tinkles as a group, well, my family of non professionals sound better when we do this (And we will play for cheaper than 22 bucks a ticket). I don't look for his act to be back in our area for awhile unless his music gets more interesting with a bit more bite. There weren't even that many art and english majors there. In Sigur Ros Jonsi and his band have a cohesive, beautifully organic sound that create pleasant atmospherics, as a solo artist, his more minimal approach doesn't really stand up very well. It's the worst show I've seen at the Pageant.

Visually and musically stunning. It is popular music as performance art. Jonsi is fun and poppy. I didn't like Sigur Ros nearly as much. Seeing him at Hammerstein was more of an experience than a concert. I'd sort of hoped to hear his personality a little more -- that maybe he was playing such a big space because he could make it feel intimate. That was not the case. Still I have to give him 4 stars (more than I'd like) because describing the show as "over-produced" was not a negative like it usually is -- the background animations of a sensationalized forest in winter, the light, his costume (I was half expected a chariot to appear on stage), the crescendo of sound -- these together created an amazing experience. it wasn't the one i wanted exactly. it was a little closer to a tomorrowland ride. amazing. i wanted one thing, i got another -- i can't say i didn't like it.

I enjoy Jonsi & Sigur Ros's studio work but I was not prepared for ethereal, spiritual masterpiece of a show. Jon Por Birgisson's voice can make you cry from the sheer beauty of it. I danced, cried and was filled with joy. The everchanging background added to the show but I must admit I spent a great amount of time with my eyes closed just listening. Different setup, missing a part of the screen from original show, thus, changing the whole aesthetic of the show. Crowd wasn't into it, talking, eating popcorn. I saw the show in May with the full stage production and had left that space with my mouth wide open..... so with high hopes I bought tickets for this show and convinced a couple of friends who wouldn't have bothered going, to come along. Pity this show was a watered down affair with little of the original props and multimedia used... it was advertised as a continuation of that tour with all the trappings. Instead I watched and yawned my way through a very poor man's version of this great tour. Very disappointed.

This show, although wishing it was assigned seating so that I didn't have to back-and-forth the six-feet-tall dudes in front of me, was like going to church. The music carried me to a place far beyond my body, and captured me in light, sound and visual. Jonsi and his side project was the same, if not better than this main act Sigur Ros. The finale left me in a state of goosebumps and tears. I thank his artistry for the amazing experiences in all senses.

Jonsi's show at the Pageant was wonderful. I never truly appreciated Jonsi and his musical talent until I saw him live. He and his band were beautiful as was the presentation. I was in awe at how great he sounded live and just how passionate he is. I Love Jonsi.

It was brief, but it was good. I wish more folks would have danced, perhaps the beat was too elusive for this. Overall, amazing. Please, try and find that beat and move those hips!
