David Blaine

I have been performing mentalism for over 60 years; I have never seen a show as unique as David's. It was fantastic! It is what we magicians call, "Geek Magic". I do have to admit that my wife kept her eyes closed during parts of David's performance pieces. Seeing David in person was much better than watching him on television demonstrating "Street Magic". I recommend the show! I enjoyed it very much.

David Blaine is a master at what he does . Fantastic show but wish it could ve gone on for hours .

I was disappointed in the length of the show and the lack of the show. He performed 5 acts and took an intermission. To me, his friend the other magician that filled in was better. Sorry.

More of a circus-type geek show with a bit of sleight-of-hand thrown in, David Blaine is not for the faint of heart. His traveling partner and fellow magician, Asi Wind, was more of straight-down-the middle, family friendly, magician. And a very good one. His Rubik's Cube trick was great! David Blaine is more of a daredevil. The show is definitely entertaining, but for an entertaining magic show I prefer Penn and Teller. They have some, but much less "ewww" and more "awww" factor, plus they fit more illusions into the alloted time. The Blaine act is very deliberate and slow-moving. My 11-year old granddaughter had her eves covered for much of the show and really hated it. My grandsons, 8 and 13, liked it much better. My wife has mixed emotions.

I've been a fan of David for about 15 years & always loved him. He's so creepy/cool & his performances are so straight ahead, non-glitzy, no hype, just seriously astounding. Very anti-Copperfield style. I saw these tricks he did in person, & am at a total loss as to how he does them. I love that! For being around 40, hr's in enviable shape, I'll say that. He's never done a tour before, so I've never gotten to see him in person. He does this all in his very laid-back, calm manner that's always really approachable. If you get the chance, do it!

I've seen a couple of theses acts on tv and it was just as crazy in person. Being live made me feel more convinced of his talent. It was a great show

A truly magical and jaw dropping experience that you will not soon forget. It had mind boggling illusions, audience participation, comedy, and heart pounding stunts that will truly leave you wanting more. Blaine delivers with all his signature brand of entertainment including a bonus magician, who one could argue was just as entertaining as Blaine. Overall it's was an Amazing experience.

Love David Blaine on TV and was hoping he wouldn't disappoint live. He didn't! The show was great and the magic phenomenal. He interacts with the audience and quite a few get to be a part of the show. I would see the show several more times just to keep trying to figure out how he heck he does all the he does. WOW!!!'

Great show but would have given 5 stars if the curtains had been opened more and if the hearing impaired signer didn't block some of the acts.

I was completely grossed out at this event as he spent 90% of the time stuffing items in his body parts. There was maybe 1% magic.

Excellent show, he was fantastic as always. Kept us guessing through out the show. If you get a chance you need to see this guy live!!

As real as you could expect and still unbelievable as to how incredible and insane he is.

Great show. Very entertaining. Most of the show is what you have seen on TV if you are a fan, but it's fun to see in person. He makes it fun for the audience. If you sit in the lower section on the floor you have a chance to be called to go on stage. Our daughter loved it!

All I can say is WOW! David Blaine is mind blowing! What a talent! Kept us on the edge of our seats the whole show! Definitely a must see!

It was a fabulous show. He was funny and I really enjoyed every moment .

Watched David Blaine painlessly puncture his hand with an ice pick, sew his mouth shut with thread & needle, douse a fire by spurting a few gallons of water from his mouth and hold his breath underwater for over 9 minutes...among other things. The man is amazing..

This was basically a once in a lifetime chance. If you have the opportunity to go do it!! Try and sit in the orchestra area as there is a ton of audience participation. David Blaine is amazing!! I've been following him since the beginning and this show does not disappoint.

I have seen David Blaine on television but seeing him in person was unbelievable. I was on the edge of my seat.

What David is known for is closeup magic - he is probably one of the best ever. And that's what you want to see. So even tho we were sitting in the 3rd row you wind up watching the monitors because you need to be that close to appreciate what he is doing. The "hold your breath in the water tank trick" is the really only stage trick and worth seeing but if you are looking to see true David Blaine this production is not for you

Single best show I've ever been to. If you get the chance to see him during this tour you need to make it a priority.

The show was great although there were parts not suitable for children. There should be a disclaimer when purchasing tickets regarding the mature content.

David Blaine is a master of illusion with card tricks. But that's just part of the thrill. He also tests the boundaries of what he could do physically, which is enthralling. He's such a charismatic person, you look forward to seeing his accomplishments at pushing the physical boundaries.

Magic has been one of my number one passion is my life since I was a kid, I have followed all the greats. David Blaine is surely one of those greats. He doesn't waste time on dancing, lights and stunts so if you are expecting to see that then go see Criss Angel in Las Vegas. He focuses mainly on well thought out, well practiced and well-executed illusions as well as endurance feats. Some of the people who are not familiar with him said they wish there was more "magic". I, personally, loved his approach as it was so different than your typical magician. One thing I would suggest in terms of the way the show is executed, is that I think the audience would like to see more of that amazing mentalist that accompanied David Blaine. There is a fairly long intermission and then only one more endurance stunt after that. That would be a good time to have the mentalist come back and do a few more things instead of having the show end as abruptly as it did. David Blaine held his breath for an extremely long period of time and understandably the show should be over after that but there could be a couple more things just to not make it feel so sudden. I'm sure the actual show will be modified as the tour goes on. Overall, I highly recommend the show!

My wife loves magic so I ve been to many magic shows. I purchased these tickets because David Blaine is world renowned. In reality the show consisted of much less magic and slight of hand tricks and focused more on things that made you cringe. When we parked the parking attendant asked my wife and I if this show wasn t too gory for our daughter and I dismissed his comments. However when David came on stage for his first trick and used a long thick needle and string to literally sew his mouth shut, I covered my daughters eyes (you saw the blood on the string) and I knew what the parking attendant meant. This was one of about 4 tricks where my daughter and sometimes my wife and I had to look away. To be clear the show was okay, but definetly not the magic that I am used to or that I expected.

David Blaine was AMAZING!!!... I loved that he used people in the audience in the show and then after the show he sat on the stage and took questions from the audience.

Awesome show! My daughters and I sat mesmerized. I was stressed out for about 75% of the show. He's crazy, and I don't know how he does it all, but that's part of the fun. I would absolutely go again. Side note: he's also a really good guy. He came to visit us folks in the cheap seats right before the show to take pictures with the kids. That was really cool.

Seeing David Blaine live has always been a dream of mine. Seeing him preform Saturday night was everything I dreamed of and more. He is the real deal. He continues to blow my mind over and over again. Thank you David for doing your last shows at home in Brooklyn. King s theatre - thank you for hosting in such a beautiful space.

Amazing show! I love how real the acts are and that David likes bed kids. Sharing how his mother gave him a deck of cards was great insight into his mind.

He doesn't do magic. He is an incredible illusionist! This was my first time seeing him live. Audience participation was great. He did a trick with a ring that I am still trying to figure out how he did it.

David Blaine had an amazing show. I've seen his work in TV and all of that but there's nothing like seeing it in person. It was really cool to see what he's like as a person and to see is Magic up close. He's genuine and really good at what he does and I think it's a must-see.

The show exceed my expectations. David shows his personality in ways you don t see in his TV specials. Some of his tricks were from his TV specials, but they are even more incredible when you see him live. He invited audience members on stage, and it was awesome seeing their reactions. One of the highlights was when he invited an 11 year old girl who admittedly to performs magic for her family, on stage. He helped her through a trick on another audience member. What a confidence booster and memoriable experience for her. I was jealous. Haha.

So worth the wait for Blaine to tour. An incredible show. Short, but wonderful.

Surprised my kids (8 & 10) with tickets to this show and they LOVED it! As for me... I am more convinced than ever that David Blaine is a legit sorcerer. Absolutely wonderful.

His show was funny, engaging and thrilling. Some members of the audience were allowed on stage to interact with David.

Just an amazing show by a really great guy. He added this show as a fundraiser for Puerto Rico at the end of his 40 show tour. If you see the things he does that is an amazing feat in itself to do 41 shows. He held his breath under water for 11 minutes and 39 second, just to put that in perspective try holding your breather for 2 minutes! After a fantastic show he came out and took pictures and talked to everyone in the lobby. He is a humble sincere man, raised in New Jersey a few miles away I think the show here meant a lot to him. This is a great man.

What an amazing show! I hope he comes back to NJ soon.

David Blaine's first ever national tour and stage magic show was a major event and of special personal significance to him that it ended at the Wellmont. The show was beautifully staged and Blaine dropped his old scary TV persona for a more humorous and jovial approach to some of his most daring and edge-of-the-seat stunts and effects. It was part reality freak show and part traditional magic show but all stunningly entertaining.

My son was bullied extremely bad In school. He felt that nobody liked him and was getting picked on every day extremely badly. He found David Blaine online and it changed his life. He started doing magic And it turned his life around. People started to be amazed at what he has learned from David Blaine. At the end of the performance David Blaine actually took the time to talk to my son, shook his hand, took pictures with us and signed his wooden deck of card Box. My son has an ear to ear grin that has not stopped since the performance. And now he is probably the coolest kid in the high school. On his Letterman's jacket he did not put his own name on the jacket he to put the name magic man To pay homage to his idle. Now on David Blaine's Instagram page my son and 3 of his pictures are the most followed pictures that Mr. Blaine has on his page. This performance in Indianapolis changed my son's life forever! Thank you so much for the opportunity! And GOD BLESS David Blaine!

Before This I had seen Criss Angel and David Copperfield and let me tell you that this show over shadows both. Typically when u see a magician live the performance is nothing like what you see on tv but let me tell you that this was not the case here. I could Give you a walk threw of all the tricks he had done and how real the experience was but that just wouldn't do it justice. It was an honor to shake the hand of the man who had influenced and inspired so much of my own work. thank you so much. A<3

The show was excellent and over two hrs long. He performed more demonstrations that are totally cool and all real. He has a very large movie screen so that everyone can enjoy the show.

He was very entertaining! He had the crowd participating also.

This was an amazing show because David Blaine is an amazing person.

We had VIP tickets and they did not disappoint! We took pictures with David and then he came out and gave our group a private 20 minute session of tricks that were INCREDIBLE! Two of the people we were with were part of his act and of course we got to film THIS part of the show! Just AMAZING! The show was filled with kids, which was a little hard for some of them to look at - even the adults were having trouble watching. They warned us before the show started that some of it was disturbing. The child in front of us was about 6-7 years old and he hid his face about the first half of the show. When David did his final "tank" act, we thought he was DONE! He had stayed underwater an inordinate amount of time BUT he came out and did a Q&A with the audience and did MORE tricks with a young kid from the audience. The whole night was such a treat!

David Blaine is seriously one of a kind! I would pay to go to every one of his shows if I could afford it! You HAVE to see him live because this may be his only tour ever! And you NEED to just go ahead and spend the extra money to sit as close to the stage as possible so you may have a chance to go on stage with him and be apart of his act and any chance to be close enough to touch that sexy man is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Despite spending years as a street magician, David Blaine has mastered his craft for a large venue in such a way that he draws everyone in and makes them feel as though they are participants in his act. Very pleased with the performance and would definitely go again.

DAVID Blaines performance was great! He involves audience and test his body along with magic.

First and foremost, the Fox Theater is just gorgeous. For anyone that has never been there for a performance you need to go. Detroit is really transforming - come and visit our city. As for this particular show - I give it a 2. David Blaine is incredible - no doubt about it. He performed 3 of the tricks he is most well known for, all which involve a combination of endurance/physical feats and trickery. Amazing and difficult too watch all at the same time. What we saw we loved. The reason for the low rating is that the show is just too short for the price. It was supposed to start at 8 pm- we waited in line out on the street for 45 minutes and were not even allowed into the theater until close to 9 pm and the entire performance was done and over shortly after 10 pm. The total show length is less than an hour with 30 minutes of it focused on him preparing for and holding his breath in a locked tank and 10 mins for him to recover and field questions. So, for the cost of ticket, parking, babysitter, etc it really was not worth it from a value standpoint. We do not get many nights out alone. We would not pay to see him perform live again. There are other magicians and performance artists that provide a better value for the money. I think it is a very physically taxing performance on him as an artist that it has to be very short. I should have checked the reviews before buying the tickets.

The David Blaine show was amazing! We took our two teenage sons and all of us agreed that the show was so good and so entertaining. We are still telling our friends and family about the show days later. Seeing David Blaine in that water tank for so long was just mind blowing! Everything he did was fun to watch. The Fox Theatre in Detroit is so beautiful, glad we got to see the show there.

I have been a David Blaine fan for awhile now, but never saw him in person. He was engaging and very interactive with the audience. The criticisms I have are that the show started a half an hour later than the ticket stated, the show only lasted about an hour, and the holding my breath underwater for X-amount of minutes routine is getting old. He s still an amazing magician and worth going to see!

He performed for one hour, took a 20 minute intermission, returned for a final 10 minute act, chatted with the audience for another 5 minutes and show over. Definitely not worth the price of the tickets!! Also, we wanted to see more magician than dare devil. Would not recommend his show.

It was a great show just wish it was a little longer

The show started about 30 minutes late which didn't sit well with the kids and he only did 3 tricks but it was a good time!!!

Wow what a show!! It was truly unforgettable. I would definitely see him again.
