Amazing, fantastic, awesome, exhilarated, and superb. I enjoyed every minute of his performance. I wish in future we have more of his concert so south Floridian can enjoy excellent entertainment. Recommend highly to everyone who likes qawali style, as well as, versatility in singing.

This was my first show at this location. The place was very clean and the entire process was very organized. The seating arrangement is slightly odd but nothing too difficult to figure out. I loved how he took requests from the audience after the intermission & even a popular song a 2nd time. AMAZING IN-PERSON!!!! I usually don't like this type of music (I was even dragged to this event by my girlfriend) but this was just amazing! I LOVED IT!!! I'm glad I went. There were sooo many empty seats that so many people were able to go to the floor seating which was just closer to the artist. In a concert like this, hearing the music is more important rather than seeing the artist. The sound system at this venue is extremely good! The concert did start late... People were able to walk into the even late which killed the user experience but I guess it's really not that big of a deal.

Horrible show started 90 mins late and felt like it was never going to start... Since it started late the songs were sung in such a hurry that it felt more like a formality ... Bad organization and bad show...

It was a terrible show which started 90 mins late that too after people made a lot of noise and booing. It seemed neither the organizers nor the artist had any respect for the audience. The artist did not forget to ask for love and respect from the auidence but never ever acknowleged or apologized for the delay... The whole idea of enyoying music in harmony is defeated when you get off such a bad start... Strongly recommend, not to waste your time for people who do not value yours. Very unproffessional....

I was a great fan of Rahat but after attending his recent show in San Jose learnt that he does not respect the love and affection of his fans. Over 2000 people were made to wait for more than 90 minutes to get an audience with the great master. There were no reasons provided for the delay, nor any apologies offered. A sheer disrespect to the value of time and feelings of the people. No artist should ever loose his humility nor think he has risen to a level to take people for granted. I was shocked to read this was not the first occurrence of this happening and read a similar version from folks from Houston..

No question about Rahat Fateh ali Khan's talent, but I do question people who handle his cocnerts. There is no excuse to start a concert 1 1/2 late. Be professional and start on time.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan definitely performed to his best. He is a spectacular performer and he delivered. For an artiste whose performance is essentially done sitting down and who does not move about the stage to communicate with the audience, he not only commanded the audience with his vocals but was able to raise everyone to their feet with vibrant music and singing along with his musicians and amazing chorus. He deserves ten stars out of five for his performance. The organizers however, managed to make what would be a perfect evening a horrible nightmare. The show began an hour and fifteen minutes later than the advertised time on the tickets. For the duration of the wait, no apologies were made nor was any information given to the waiting crowd. An extremely loud advertisement was continuously played. It was heavily amplified and was painful to withstand for the lengthy wait. Note that this show was on a Sunday night so that anyone having to work on Monday morning would have missed an hour and a quarter of the performance. During the unusually long intermission, there was nowhere to escape from the horrible extremely loud ad that was played again continuously. The most disgusting aspect of it all was the fact that no communication was done in English. The MC was introduced as a Doctor but she could not speak a word of English and appeared to have problems with whatever language she was speaking. This was a convert in Houston, Texas and while the songs were in a foreign language, the attendees were largely English speaking. Simple things could have been communicated in English, such as the intermission time and the program for the evening. Overall, Shaks entertainment and Rehan Siddiqi should give me my money back and pay for the torture that they put me through on that evening. I hope that when Rahat returns it is with another organizer - someone who knows what they are doing.

I have been to several show of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan so I was debating if I should go or not. But surprisingly, the show was different as it was a tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The song collection and presentation for the first half was different than the usual performances. The only disappointment was that it ended abruptly and it was cut off. I think he intended to sing 3-4 more songs but was unable to do so. That was really disappointing.

For one, the show started 45 minutes late. Not sure if it was the acoustics/sound system at DAR Constitution Hall or RFAK himself but at times if felt like nails on a chalkboard which would have been a more pleasant experience. On top of that, the setlist was too long and drawn out, our show ended at 11:30 before the finale, we were literally kicked out. I feel ripped-off and completely unsatisfied and I would not recommend anyone attend another show at the DAR or of RFAK's in the future.

I had low expectations given previous rfak performances, but since it was sold as a tribute to nfak i expected it to be more of a traditional performance. The first half was not traditional qawwali at all, though I understand he's gotta market himself and his work. The first half is rfak singing to drums, clarinet, 2 keyboards, 2 guitars. There are tablas in the back but not really doing anything. Even the crowd was like let's get past this segment please, as rfak assured the crowd the second segment would be traditional. after the break, the second segment began with a larger stage, 2 harmoniums and the traditional qawwali set up. But here was the issue: The clarinet player, while amazingly talented, kinda ruined the set and this clarinet player jumped in playing in EVERY song! Additionally, the drummer also played throughout the second set, even though there was a tabla and dhol player, and the bass drum and cymbals drowned out a lot of the traditional music, particularly during the refrains. Lastly, both guitarists, electric and acoustic, continued as well, so basically when there was a chorus line, like (tumhe dillahi bhool...), it was hard drumming, electric guitaring, and every so often the clarinet guy ALONG WITH rfak and the qawwali party and at some point it was just noise.

Event organizers/management should know how long will the entire performance last and co-ordinate the same with DAR Constitution Hall. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had to end the show abruptly, without singing the headline song of the event, as it was past the allowable time limit for the venue. The event management could have scheduled this better.

The show was excellent as far as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's singing and organization was concerned - Rahat was humble and brilliant. Show was great. But the marketing team mismanaged timing and after yeh show pictures. The show was cut off early though Rahat wanted to sing more. Even if it was a union problem they should have made sure union was paid overtime. The security was really rude.

The artist RFAK was even better as a live performer, however the event organisers were not. I don't understand why they waited thirty minutes after the start time of 8 pm to actually start the event. If people weren't in their seats in time, the doors should have been shut and the show started. The 'Will Cal' ticket pick up set up was atrocious!!!l First it was hard to find and when you finally got there you had to wait between two sets of doors packed in with dozens of people in a very small space. Once you got your tickets you couldn't enter the hall through the doors you were standing right next to, no, you had to walk through the press of humanity out the doors through which lines of people were trying to get in to get their tickets. LOGIC would dictate that once a person has picked up their tickets, let them go into the building where the event is being held instead of making them exit, and walk around to another door steps away. There was no shortage of staff, there were people manning every single door. So who pays for the unneccessary INCONVENIENCE caused to paying customers.

Okay. I should have known. There is just two things that he can sing. All Bollywood songs(sung sitting sounding like Karaoke band). Qawwali that I am not a great fan in this format. He came on to the stage 65 min later after all tut-punjiye did pass time. He is known worldwide for his Bollywood songs but he sang them 1.5 tempo for the name sake inclusion. The romance of the singing was not there and it was mostly his synchipading style. Amazing that he could sing the entire time (mostly in high pitch) without the sign of fatigue. Purely my opinion.

we had high hopes for this performance as RFAK is amazing and McCaw hall is impeccable. unfortunately the theater was under-utilized. I had never heard feedback while attending a show at McCaw hall until now. The reverb on Ustad Khan's mike made lyrics unintelligible. it felt like the first hour of the show was the sound check - not the professional quality I expect from such accomplished musicians and certainly not from shows held at McCaw hall. a one hour late start is unacceptable no matter who the performer is, so is exhibition seating after everyone has paid for their respective seats. overall under whelming... and then a political commercial... give me a break.

It is truly phenomenal to watch this maestro live. His qawwalis already have a mesmerizing quality and that experience is only enhanced when you listen to him and his team in concert. He paid tribute to his ustad, the great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and like a true qawwal started his performance with an ode to God with the miraculous "Allah hoo". Don't miss him when he hits your town and remember to enjoy this experience as not only a treat for the ears but a spiritual experience for your heart and mind.

The concert was good and Rahat Fateh Ali's songs were beautiful as always. The only problem was with the sound system. This was the first time we had seen Rahat in concert and our first time in this theater. Overall it was a good show. The audio in the first half was not set correctly, especially Rahat's mike which had too much low end and the bass guitar was overpowering. In the second half, the mike adjustments were pretty much spot on for him and the rest of the band. From where we sat, the sound was very good. Overall, it was a good concert and an enthusiastic crowd.

I had read reviews of Rahatji's previous concerts, and so was prepared for the program to start a 30-45 minute late. However, it was utterly disappointing to see this program start 90 minutes late! Apart from that, the program was great. Rahatji's performance on stage was marvelous, as always. Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's voice is very impressive and I am a huge, long-time fan. However, the show started 1.5 hours late with no reasoning or apology by the event coordinators. The stage setup was sloppy. Improper tuning of the microphones left him sounding too loud and muffled. Many others made the same comments. As mentioned, he and his musicians are superb but the lack of professionalism, attention to detail, and sound management made me feel like my money was not at all well spent. A concert requires more than a great vocalist, otherwise I'd just listen to his CDs at home.

I was so shocked that the event was advertised at 7:30 and didn't begin till 9pm. I know people will say that it was South Asian etc but this needs to STOP as an excuse. Furthermore, the event organizers chose to use their own speakers and not the house speakers (I guess it saved them money?) and as a result the echos were so bad that if you were sitting up in the balcony and other levels that were not right infront of the stage, you could not hear ANYTHING clearly...and that is clearly an issue when you are going to a poetic music concert. Being fluent in Urdu I could hardly catch what he was saying unless it was a super famous song that I knew on my own. As a result, I was hardly engaged. Maybe they shouldn't have food available outside as that makes people arrive very slowly into the auditorium

The event was disappointing: - started about 1 hour late - venue did not enforce the attendees to stay in their seats.. folks were talking, walking around, dancing and obstructing view for other patrons - it didn't seem that the acoustics had been checked prior to the concert start (1 hour late).. musicians were making hand signals to the engineer to change around the sound the whole concert. - Ustad's voice was not so great.. which was very disappointing.. when he hit the really high and loud notes. it sounded shrilly. - the backup musicians didn't seem like well trained musicians either. - the disco lights that kept shining into the audience (and into my eyes) was very distracting and took away from the stage performance.

We were vry excited to have the tickets to go to the conert. We drove 2 hours but it was exciting, since we love his songs. On arrival at the areana we were told that we need to stand in the line to get the tickets scanned,so every one will have their seats. We were still excited to this point. Actual concert time was 7:00, it didnt get started till 7:30.Initially the opening song was instrumental, voice was so loud that even after using ear plugs ,it felt like we will be deaf by the end of the song. The quality of surround system was very cheap,it was literally inaudible. Finally songs by rahat were started and he killed all the songs for us brutaly. i would never recommend this to anyone..... not a good experience.

His voice, his style, and his talent is unbelievable. This, added on to his humble personality, defines a great singer. Words can not begin to explain my feelings through out his concert. Absolutely brilliant singing.

it was a performance par excellence. He sang for almost three hours with just one break of 20 minutes in between. Great vocal quality and a thorough entertainer.
