So happy to see these guys back together again and of course with the incomparable N'Dea Davenport! It was an awesome gathering of BNH enthusiasts, in the always inviting BB King Lounge - artistry at it's very very best! Please come back BNH very soon! You guys are so incredibly talented, consistently better with every passing decade!

This was a great show with only a few downfalls! Show was supposed to start at 8, but it was the opening act... once she finished there was a lengthy break and then the Heavies finally came on at 9:30. The show was amazing and everyone had a great time. Simon and N'dea were very involved with the crowd. They didn't play: Forever, Daybreak, All Fired Up, Sex God, I Don't Know Why I Love You, or any of their newer songs. Would've liked a 2 hour show instead of the 90 mins but they were great nonetheless.

By far, this band is one of the tightest ever. The sound is as clear or better than their records. N'dea has a voice that somehow keeps getting better Over the years. I've seen them multiple times over the Past 20 years and they are as good or better each time. Love this group, their energy and the music!!! Never Stop-Never Give it Up!!! I know WHY I love you!

I love the BNH They play just the right music and beat that I love to groove and listen to. I've seen them before but this time was different. They started very late and N'Dea started the show with an apology to that effect. Unfortunately, it appears that N'Dea can't finish the songs any longer. After rocking through the first two verses and belting out memorable melodies, the group swerves into jam sessions (which is fine) but when it is time to wrap up the song, N'Dea has forgotten the final verse(s)? I was very confused but still happy to be in their presence. The show left me wondering if I had lost it....or had she?

BNH great players, great tunes, awesome vibe. They put the funk back in it. Would be nice though if they started on time. And maybe forgo the opening act. They group came on almost an hour after the opening act finished playing. BB KIngs seems like a necessary evil. An act like BNH or Incognito or Larry Graham doesn't seem to play any place else. So you seemed forced to go there if tyou really wanna see one of these acts. The sound is mediocre, they make it Standing Room Only so they can fit more bodies. The drinks and food slightly overpriced. However, there are much worse places to see live music. Overall the show was great.

25 years on from my first Heavies album, I now have 10 and have seen them live 4 times, so I'm a bit of a fan. But Friday was a little disappointing. The venue was great, the crowd very varied and the atmosphere good. The first hour of the gig was pretty tight and then they went off, which I thought was a bit soon. They came back out for 3 or 4 tracks but it was a little loose and somehow not the usual standard. Reasons? Firstly, no Jan Kincaid on drums as he's left the band. His replacement attempted a pretty pathetic drum solo, but otherwise kept up. But without Jan, a few notable songs would always be missing (Shelter etc). Originally this was billed as a Sweet Freaks gig, but I noticed this dropped off the billing. So I may be wrong but disarray and trouble in the camp seems to be simmering below the surface. Secondly, Andrew Levy was clearly not happy with the set-up of his instruments. On the upside, N'dea and Si were their usual flamboyant and entertaining selves but with only 90-ish minutes on stage, the repertoire was the usual popular stuff. I really wish they'd play some of their funkier stuff and draw more from the later albums (We won't stop, Sweet Freaks, Get used to it etc). I'd forgive the Heavies anything as they will always be one of my favourites, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to see them again if it's like this. We were in the crowd for their 'Live In London' album gig a few years back, which was a bit of a comeback, and was fantastic. Last Friday's show was a shadow of the earlier stuff we'd been to. And I can't listen to Midnight at the Oasis anymore, not when their broader collection is so good. Perhaps a few smaller gigs for their diehard, older fans would be welcome, until then I'll stick to my album collection, pipe and slippers.

The Brand New Heavies are an awesome band but this concert was quite bad. The sound quality was horrible -- maybe because they missed the soundcheck? -- and overall the venue is seedy and not a pleasant place to listen to music. The opening act was also bad (again, horrible sound quality) and it took way too long for The BNH to start (9:45ish?).

I am at a lost for words! That is how sensational this concert was from start to finish. I am a huge fan of the complete band. I believe if you do not have a horn section your band is not complete. my favorite song is STAY THIS WAY..AND THEY PLAYED IT TO PERFECTION! I can't wait for their new cd! ETERNAL FAN - KONQUEROR
