They played so many of my favourites. The sound was great. The crowd was great. The venue staff were nice. All of that made this one of my favourite shows I've seen.

The Majestic Theatre was a great, tiny, grungy-looking venue. Bright Eyes was excellent. Conor Oberst was energetic, possibly drunk(most definitely drunk), and talkative. They played a lovely set, featuring songs from nearly every Bright Eyes era.

I may be biased, being that Conor Oberst has been somewhat of a hero to me, but honestly I wish the show never ended! I have been an avid Bright Eyes fan for about eleven years now, and I don't believe I'll ever get enough of his brilliant words. His music claims complete power over my emotions, and his social and political commentary are, in my opinion, very powerful and well put. My only thought is that I wish he performed more pieces off older albums, but who am I to tell him that?!? All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I cannot wait until I can attend another one of his shows. Thank you Conor!

Bright Eyes did all they could. They played a great show. The sound was a bit too loud and muffled. There was a $2 charge to get a wristband to drink. To think about drinking you had to pay $2. This seems like a crime!

I LOVED the concert. I have only two remarks that are negative: 1) The music was often too loud that it overpowered Conor's voice and you couldn't make out what was being sung. The guitars were turned entirely way too loud. The music level should be comfortable and of quality not just of loudness. No sense in paying for stuff you can't hear because you want to rock someone's face off literally. 2) He only played one song from Cassadaga, which is okay, but I wanted to hear more. He did a lot from Lifted though and that made up for it.

The Bright Eyes show at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium that took place on Saturday, 3/5 was AMAZING! They played such a great variety of music from all albums, old and new. I loved every moment! Conor is a phenomenal performer, who so appreciates his audience. There were a number of times when he would say, "Thank you SO much!" I'm ready for the next Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes/Monsters of Folk show!

The concert seemed too overly produced, overly staged, and Bright Eyes did very few songs for which they are well known. Had I not been a fan already, this concert would not have made me one. Oberst didn't even seem "into" it. Everything about the concert seemed stilted, staged, and un-Bright Eyes. I think the concert was mainly too sell the new album, "The People's Key". Maybe Conor had little control over it; bet his recording co. did. But I find that a bit hard to believe.

Despite the blowing rain, Asheville was an excellent place to experience the latest incarnation of Bright Eyes. And, man, did Conor and the band deliver!!! Such a fine mix of new and old tunes, along with some really neat lighting effects! We were so delighted with the entire evening! Nate Walcott's horn was amazing!

Tickets were cheap, event location small and general admission allowed to move around. Bright eyes was fantastic. Only problem, if your a non smoker or pregnant, the Filmore does very little to control smoking of cigarettes. Which should not have been difficult since only a handful of the fans decided to smoke inside a non smoking place.

I am never going to the House of Blues again. For one thing, I ended up with two (literally) full glasses of Pabst Blue Ribbon spilled on me, but it was far too loud for the bands playing. The acoustics were absolutely awful, because it was so loud. Great performances by both bands, though.

The show was great. Bright Eyes and Cursive both delivered solid performances. The House of Blues has great acoustics but lousy sight lines. Unless you arrive very early and are willing to be crammed into the area directly in front of the stage, there does not seem to be a spot in the house where you can actually see the whole stage. The crowd was excessively annoying. Too many teeny-boppers that came to the show to talk to their friends. With Bright Eyes many songs where most of the sound comes from Conor's soft vocals, it was unnerving. I had not heard the last song of the set "One for You and One for Me", but what a beautiful little song. After looking up the title I am sure he changed the last lines. He sang... You and me, you and me That is an awful lot You and me you and me That's all I've got It's you and me x4 Rather than... You and me, you and me That is an awful lie x2 It's I and I x4

Fantastic show started out with a great performance by Cursive, Acoustics for this could have been better, but TIm had the crowd rockin' and primed for Bright Eyes. The delay wasn't too long before BE started and they played nonstop for 2 amazing hours. I loved the songs from the new CD but they sounded even better live with the band at mega volume. It was the perfect mix of old and new material with the attention to detail that we've come to expect from this group. It was the first show of the tour, and it went off without a hitch. There were no displays of abandon that I've seen in other appearances such as guitar smashing or crowd surfing. Conor seemed seriously sober and confident with his passionate and poignant songs. Even if I don't agree with his politics, I respect his call to end apathy as a society, Best of all, Bright Eyes rocked!

Conor Oberst is an amazing performer. He did make a few political comments at the end of the show that I thought were better left unsaid considering it was 9/11. I think he expected his audience to be a lot of mindless kids that would sip his kool-aid. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Bright Eyes and I loved all his songs and the way he played them. He was an absolute wonder to watch and listen to. I just thought the political comments should have been left out, that's all.

It was amazing. Even Bright Eye's opening act was great. First Aid Kit is super folky and they sound wonderful. If you like Bright Eyes you will love them. Bright Eyes puts on a great show. They played for a good two hours, a bunch of familiar, fan favorites as well as some new stuff. I was worried they wouldn't play the "classics" but they obviously know what their fans want. The only problem was the lack of seating - I stood for six hours and my feet and legs were killing me - but it was worth it because I was about 6 feet from the band and the singer crowdsurfed onto me. I highly recommend any fans to see them on these last few dates because I don't know if they will go on tour ever again!

This was the most amazing concert I have ever been to in my life! Bright Eyes was fantastic, it was a much more serious tone than the show I had seen previously at House of Blues in March. There couldn't have been a better setlist in my opinion, great song selection. It was a very emotionally charged night probably because of the date, and Conor Oberst spoke some very moving words about 9/11 and the direction our country has been going in since then. I also can't stress how amazing First Aid Kit, the opening band, were. I would have been happy to spend extra money and time in line just for them alone. Johanna and Klara have amazing voices and a lovely presence, I hope to see them again in the future!

Bright Eyes again put on an awesome show with a fantastic set list. The only issue I had was the crowd. It was full of rude people and young kids. I found my favorite spot on the floor just to be bothered by some guy who never heard of the band screaming "It's my 21st Birthday!!!" the entire time. So I moved back by the bar, where I saw people leaving (it was a school night). Then during Ladder Song, everyone kept on chatting, ruining the soft slow song that I love. Coupled with people jumping all around like idiots, the crowd was horrible. They only knew the couple of more popular songs and only sang the lyrics that had an easy thing to say (so it took a lot out of context of the song). I don't remember any of this occurring just a few months ago at the same venue. As stated, the band was awesome, Conor's 9/11 speech was amazing, and the set list was outstanding (though missing a few I wanted to hear, but great anyways).

first aid kit was excellent and well mixed to hear all instruments individually and in concert. However, bright eyes was so poorly mixed that the bass guitar, drums and distortion were the prominent sound; the vocals , most keyboards and guitars were unhearable. This is too bad because this group has some capable musicians.

This show was simply amazing! I have been a Bright Eyes fan for many years and they did not disappoint. The Williamsburg Waterfront is a beautiful venue, the night was lovely and the music was out of this world. Conor is a fantastic performer and he really gets the crowed into the show. He also played a great line up of songs - at least one from almost every album. The encore really topped it off when he came back and ended with the last song from the Lifted album (I forget the name now) and I'm Wide Awake It's Morning. To add to everything, the day of the show was my birthday! Definitely one I will remember.

First time seeing Bright Eyes live and it was amazing! The sound quality from the venue and the tightness of the band were well above average. They played a nice range of material ranging the best of their work and it was a nice long set. They didn't overly play new material but gave a good bit of it. The songs flowed very well from one to the next. The worst part about the show was definitely the lighting. It was just a simple color and light scheme that could have been pushed much farther but it wasn't bad by any means. Would love to see them again anytime! Also cheers to the Fillmore for allowing them to reschedule the date!

On their tour for their supposed final album, "People's Key," Bright Eyes performed spectacularly at Radio City Music Hall. Although their sound digressed to an older "Digital Ash" sound, and diverted from the recent folk-ier sound, the band was great. Hopefully this will not be their final album nor their final tour, but if it is so, Conor left Bright Eyes off on an interesting and satisfying note. If you're a fan check them out while still on their current tour and get tickets while you still can, as it may very well be the final leg for Bright Eyes!

I may be biased because Bright Eyes is my all-time favorite band, but honestly, this show blew me away. It was a special concert (first available show for the tour) so I'm sure they ramped it up and put a little extra oomph into the show but it was phenomenal. When I saw them in Philly, it was also amazing and probably my number two best show ever, but admittedly, New York was better and takes the number one spot. My 10 year old daughter was with me, and we were both blown away by their performance. After the show we waited outside for over an hour until the band walked out. Conor hugged us and took a picture with my daughter. This was her first concert ever..SCORE. We had to take a cab home because my car ended up getting locked in the parking garage overnight. I will never, ever forget this concert. Every single song Bright eyes played was beautiful, even the ones i didn't know the words to. Conor was more amazing than I could've ever imagined. Seeing him live and hearing all him talk in between the songs was like a dream come true. He sounded PERFECT and the entire crowd immediatly fell in love with him and hung on to every word he said. While there was a lot of pushing and shoving (which is to be expected at a concert), the crowd was wonderful and everyone talked to each other like we were all one big happy family. I've been to many concerts, and this was the very first one where I just felt so much overwhelming emotion. Conor Oberst has an incredible way of connecting with the audience. This show wasn't just about the audience watching Bright Eyes. It felt as though the show was about every person there experiencing this music together. There wasn't the separation of the famous musician and the audience. Conor Oberst is the layman. I was also impressed that except for sometimes changing the intensity, rhythm, or a few words, he sounds exactly the same live as he does on his recordings. This was the best show I've ever been to. I've seen Bright Eyes five times over the past eight years and their performance on Thursday was by far the greatest experience I've had at one of their shows. Conor played songs he's never performed, at least in Dallas, and it felt like a one on one session. He talked to us in between songs and while some of his comments were cheeky, (I wouldn't expect anything less) after a few wells and beers he was expressing his love for us. Bright Eyes shows are distinctive on multiple levels because no show is the same. But what really makes it is the crowd. We all talk amongst one another like we've been friends for years. We talk about past shows and how we've seen Conor, Mike and Nate evolve as if they're our chIldhood friends. Even though they don't know us from Adam, we are a part of the Bright Eyes family. If you've never seen Conor, you're missing out on the man who has become the voice for the voiceless.

First time ever seeing Bright Eyes; absolutely loved every second of it! My girlfriend got me into them, and I fell in love with them at the concert. Thanks, Conor!

I've seen Bright Eyes play live before but in a different venue and with a different mood. This concert was much more rock heavy and fitting for this venue. The atmosphere was great and I think that had to do with an amazing opening band and a never-disappointing headliner. I think everyone is surprised when the opening band comes out and you are immediately into it and enjoying every minute despite never hearing them before. First Aid Kit was amazing and they definitely set the bar high for Bright Eyes. Of course they were able to meet and thoroughly surpass any expectations. More artists need to do concerts that are this long and have this much energy.

what could be better than listening to Bright Eyes surrounded by the fantastic lights of Manhattan? Truly a most memorable time. The message of Peace and Love and caring for one another hopefully fell on ears that would listen and pass the goodness and love along. a truly fantastic show !!!

Great concert, didn't expect Dr.Dog to be so good live. Because of the music genre I was expecting it to be mellow, but the energy was great. Definitely would see them again!

Bright Eyes poured an amazing connection with the audience, and delivered that phenomenal sound we were all longing for. Words can't describe this experience or that feeling we all shared. Thanks Bright Eyes.

This show was beyond awesome! Conor Oberst gave an incredible performance! I can't believe each ticket was only $37! He could be charging a lot more considering how great the show was. Best $37 I ever spent! My only regret is that I didn't see more of his shows while he was touring in NY.

Dr. Dog opened up for Bright Eyes which my boyfriend and i really enjoyed. They were so good that we bought their cd after the show- definitely check them out. Beautiful Conor came on next thankfully and he was awesome, they played a bunch of old songs which was great, a couple from the peoples key as well. This was my 2nd time seeing him, the first being at radio city music hall. I definitely enjoyed this concert more considering it was at a smaller venue so i got to see the stage so much better. He crowd surfed at the end and also did this mini-shred to introduce all of the band members. If he comes around, get tickets!

He was drunk, it was awesome. The environment and energy was way better than Radio City, and even better than Baldwinsville. He even played longer.

Incredible show. It was a very good decision to move the show from the civic center to the chance--great energy due to the intimacy. The chance was packed, while the civic center would have felt far too empty. Bright Eyes never disappoints live. They played lots of older material, mainly from I'm Wide Awake it's Morning, only one from Cassadaga, a few Digital Ash, some Lifted, even a couple from Fevers and Mirrors. Only three or four songs were from People's Key, which I'm happy about since it's my least favorite album, but they sounded really good regardless. SO GOOD.

Conor Oberst is the perfect example of an artist so incredible that many people bad mouth him because they are secretly pissed they don't have that kind of talent. On Bright Eyes' blogs I see stuff like like "please hit him in the face when you see him" and half the stuff is like that, it's insane! I don't even visit the sites of the artists I don't care for, why would someone waist their time? I barely have enough time for the artists I like! Anyway, I'm spending too much time on something negative, it's was part of my upbringing. But it still says something about how talented Conor is; he is very prolific, been described as a post post-modern Dylan, has two record labels, and is the king of indie rock! No wonder people hate him so much! But buy all his records (and the ones on his labels), they are all classics!!!

Bright Eyes gratified his audience with plenty of old favorites, and put his all into making the new stuff really exciting and inspiring. Williamsburg Waterfront is a sweet spot for a show. We got to watch the sun set on the East River and the lights come up on Manhattan. I couldn't have been happier with the performance. Road to Joy was the highlight, and the only complaint I have was that the final song was unfamiliar and played for the sake of its "message" instead of a big uplifting crowd pleaser.

The venue is great, been there a couple times and it's always fun. The music was on point and I really liked all the tunes they cranked out from the I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning album. Wish I could have made the trip to pouhkeepsie to see bright eyes with dr dogg and I'll certainly be on the lookout for them to come back to NYC!!

Over all this was an amazing show. i don't go to shows that much but I had such a great time. The performance was outstanding. They played lots of my favorites- even ones of their 2002 album. They really rocked out, and sounded even better than on their albums. There was a trumpet, saxophone, piano, tambourines, accordion, the works... The williamsbsurg water front is the perfect venue for a late summer concert. the food was great too. i wasn't expecting to get such a hearty and delicious gourmet vegan sandwich.

This show was amazing.. This was my second time seeing Bright Eyes on this tour (I wish I could afford to see more) but it was even better than the last time. The setting was so beautiful. The New York skyline was gorgeous. Dr. Dog did a splendid job.. but Bright eyes was great.

I have always loved obersts lyrics, but hearing him sing them live literally put chills down my spine. You can feel him pouring his emotions into his performance in a way I've never experienced before with any other artist. it's more than just seeing a band play, you can really feel what he is portraying. I highly recommend seeing any live performance from oberst!

It was easy to get a spot in the front row. This was my second time seeing Bright Eyes and it had been like seeing two different shows. I really enjoy the fact they change up their set lists significantly. I caught a tambourine and Conor grabbed my hand twice. They played double the amount of songs I expected. "Let's not shit ourselves live was unforgettable. I'm glad I caught them in NY since it sounds like they won't be back for quite some time. Dr.Dog was an excellent opening act as well.

6th time seeing Conor, 3rd with Bright Eyes. As always, he and the band were amazing, leaving nothing. All out great show, amazing set list. Weather was perfect, as was the lighted view of the Manhattan skyline.

I'd been wanting to see Bright Eyes for over 4 years now, so finally getting to see them was fantastic. The Williamsburg Waterfront venue was gorgeous. It was my first time going to a show there and I fell in love with it. The river and the Manhattan skyline are right behind you. The venue is standing room only, which I'm a fan of, and there is quite a lot of space. The setlist was great-- they played a lot of their older work from the early 2000's as well as some new songs from The People's Key. Conor is a fantastic live performer. He's very genuine, and I really enjoyed the show.
