Great show but kinda short though. If the actual abba show was longer, it would have been awesome.

Amazing all around, Sarah Horn was brilliant as host for the vocal contest between 3 local U choral groups who sang their hearts out and all sounded great; I wasn't crazy about the vocal percussions that were part of the acapella groups, I thought it detracted from the sound and would have liked to have more harmonies and less emphasis on the lead vocalist, but a great sound overall and it was almost impossible to choose between the USC, UCLA and Chapman groups; took three or four tries to judge.. Sarah's two songs were great, she has such an amazing voice, Sang "that song" from Wicked and thank you for the music from Abba. The Abba Concert as incredible. It's hard to imagine 50,000 people turning out for a tribute band and all going away more than happy. From the period costumes (by that I mean mid seventies to early 80s) to the original sax and bass player from the Abba recordings, the Concert was as good as it gets in rendering the Abba hits, and they played them all impeccably. Definitely a show to see again, next time they're in town.

I loved ABBA Fest!!!! It was a wonderful experience. Everybody was dancing and singing under the stars. ABBA The concert tribute band was amazing. They sounded like the original ABBA. Hope they come next year and do another concert.

I don't even know where to start! The first half had three school groups do covers of ABBA for a trophy and it was so great to her the different styles. The second half was even more fantastic when the ABBA Group, which is a group that sings covers for all the ABBA songs, just went off the charts with their performances. Not only do they look like ABBA, but the sound and dress like them too. Everyone was up and dancing and it was just a really grand time for everyone!

This tribute band was amazing! Very strong vocals that really resurrected the ABBA vibe! The leader, "Bjorn", truly can entertain and get the crowd going, not to mention had pipes of an 80's rocker! We LOVED this show...danced and sang to all of our favorites the whole time!

The acapela that was the opening act was absolutely out of place. the reasons for that: 1. an opening act should not take a full hour out of two hours show 2. People comes to ABBA with a certain energy and memories of that era. the opening act killed that momentum. Once the real concert started the group had hard time to bring back the energy that was there to begin with. 3. the ABBA did very well all around. at the end it felt everybody was on aboard with them. I enjoyed the concert, took me a minuet to get over the "high school prom" style of the opening act

What an amazing ABBA tribute band!! They perform everything live, no tracks, and they sounded incredible. They're costumes were perfect and if you didn't know any better, you'd think you were watching the real ABBA. A MUST SEE GROUP! Please come again!!!

First half of show included a ABBA cappella sing-off between several local colleges. Although the sing-off was fairly good, it seem to run a bit long for our enjoyment. The last half included an ABBA tribute band. Overall the performance was good, they even brought out two of the original ABBA band members. We were hoping the show would have ended with all four band members on stage (no such luck).

The second half of the show with the ABBA cover band was truly spectacular. This review is not meant for the ABBA cover band. Their portion of the show was worth every penny of my ticket purchase. My 3-star rating is really more in response to the first half of the show. Inviting collegiate a cappella groups to perform at the Hollywood Bowl is a big deal. But - Clearly, the producers of the show have no idea about producing an a cappella show. I hope that for next year, the producers will receive some guidance on the best way to showcase some of the most talented collegiate singers in the country -- who happen to reside right here in Southern California. Simply put, having all three groups on stage at once -- acting as each other's background -- was a bad choice. Also, having the groups rotate singing one song at a time was a bad choice. You should allow each group to sing their songs in a complete set... which allows the audience to "get to know" the group and their individual singers. While audience voting (by screaming), is never the best way to pick a "winner", I understand there is very little you can do in this situation without selected judges. Perhaps the Hollywood Bowl producers can do a better job next year of actually having a cappella experts on hand to select the winning group.... and then in addition to that winner, you could have an "audience favorite". And finally, the first half "host" of the evening needs to be someone who is a well-respected singer and performer. I am sure there is a B-list actor or actress who would have been more than happy to host the first half of the show and sing a song with the collegians. Sarah Horn was a bad choice. Yes, she is a good singer, and yes, the circumstances of her being selected by Kristin Chenowith were incredible, but no, she did not have to come back to the Hollywood Bowl as the "host" for ABBA Fest. Thanks for taking the time to read my review, and I hope this event is scheduled again next year!

This is the third time I have seen this show. The other two times were at other venues in other States. The Hollywood Bowl version was the best of the three I have seen so far.

I bought tix for my husband's birthday. He has always loved ABBA and knows all the words. I loved it too! The music is happy and infectious and this tribute band is really excellent. It was fun to see all the kids, tweens and teens who were rocking out as well. Fun for the whole family.

Nowhere in Hollywood Bowl literature or on ticketmaster does it explain it's an amateur, accapella singing competition, not a band playing ABBA music. We didn't stay.

I am a progressive rock fan ... Beatles, Stones, The Who ... so my friends do not understand my appreciation for ABBA. This dates back to 1974 when I was a DJ and Waterloo first came out. They write GREAT songs. And those songs hold up. This was again obvious at the Hollywood Bowl concert. The band on stage did a wonderful job with those songs - obviously they are not ABBA. But the energy of the band, and the vocals and the sound was as close as I will get to seeing the real ABBA. I just visited the ABBA museum in Stockholm, so this was all fresh in my mind. The band on stage connected with the audience in a real and wonderful way. I think it's what those Swedes do. Everyone was up and dancing and singing ... such joy in that crowd.

the actual Abba band was great. a little too much talking between songs for my taste, as it messed with the excitement. but interesting bits of info about some Abba history. attention promoter of the event... the opening "act" was absolutely terrible. so boring it put the whole bowl to sleep and NO ONE wanted to participate. they just wanted it over. talk about putting the crowd to sleep. there was no energy there at all.

This was my second time seeing the group "Waterloo" perform and they were great. They were upbeat and fun and the audience was totally engaged. The evening started with a performance by three acapella choirs and a competition of sorts. This was OK. The students were very good, but the MC was extremely awkward. I found her stage presence annoying at best. She has a lovely voice, but should restrict her activities on stage to singing. I think if this had just been Waterloo, or a shorter performance by the choral groups, I would have given this 4 stars. The opening was too long, and by the time Waterloo started, the crowd was almost asleep. Aside from this, I would go again and enjoy seeing this Abba tribute band.

The sound was authentic, the singers were energetic. They had Invited two of the original musicians to accompany the troupe, which was fun to see.

The first 45minutes - 1 hour was boring with the 3 teams participating in some sort of audience contest. It felt like it was just a time filler. The concert after the intermission was just out of this world. I felt like I was listening to the real ABBA band. Very high quality with nice surprises including couple of musicians from the real ABBA band.

My friend thought the group was the real original group and she wanted to know who their plastic surgeon was who did such a fabulous job to all of them! At the very end I had to tell her the truth and she could not get over it and thinks I was lying! So that says it all right there and we were set back through a magic show time machine during the great seventies before Aids and Global Warming came to live and it felt good to relive those moment! I hope this group will show up very soon somewhere else soon so that I can go and see them again with a bunch of friends and relive those incredible joyous moments.!

The a cappella acts at the beginning were not all that enjoyable, but the main act (Abba The Coincert) way exceeded my expectations. It was almost like the real Abba was back together and performing there in front of us, except with better dance steps by the two girls. I surely hope Hollywood Bowl brings back this act again next year. Every song was electrifying. The crowd was dancing in the aisles.
