I've been looking forward to this show, and both bands did not dissapoint. I was right in the front and felt a wave of energy from each band. I love the fact that both The Black Angels and Black Mountain played a lot of songs, and collaborated with one another to make an actual performance. I loved it and can't wait until they perform again!

I had very high expectations for this show (Wilderness Heart took a bit to grow on me, but is now my 2010 album of the year), and it did not disappoint. I hadn't really been into Black Angels long before the show, but I grabbed a couple of albums, really dug them, and was really looking forward to both bands. Both were incredible. So tight, such stage presence, just awesome. The hall they played has GREAT sound but not much capability for advanced lighting rigs, etc., so the visuals were pretty sparse - which just didn't matter at all. In short, this was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Black Mountain comes out of the north with a fierce and gentle spirit. Channeling a mix of sounds you have heard before along with their own flow. This a band that absolutly make you feel good inside...

Show was siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!!!!!!!!!!!! Black Mountain rocked the house too. Their band was a little bit better live than Black Angels from a professional standpoint however Black Angels music is much cooler in my opinion. Black Angels did not jam very much they mostly just covered their songs but they were sick. I strongly recommend checking them out in concert. Black Mountain too. El Rey is a chill venue as well. All around a great time.

These two bands complement each other so perfectly, whoever thought of them touring together should be rewarded. Outstanding psychedelic performances from both bands, complete with a couple tiny little goofs to remind you that it's live music. I had expected the 2 bands to be co-headliners, but crowd turnout definitely suggests that Black Angels were the bigger draw. If you love gritty, druggy garage rock, do yourself a favor and don't miss this.

What a great pair to see on the same bill...The order didn't matter...both headliners IMO...The Showbox Market was the perfect venue to enhance the vibe these bands put out...Hope to see them again soon.

I really like the Black Angels albums a lot. However, they come no where close to seeing them played live. I got chills probably a dozen times from the energy. I can't wait to see them again - hopefully at the Showbox again. The Black Angels are just cool.

This show was definitely worth driving two hours from Rhode Island to see on Election Night...both bands played solid sets, and Black Mountain unleashed some serious thunder on Paradise's small stage. The only downside: I think the bands were too loud for the club's sound system...it could have been muddy mixing, but the vocals just didn't have enough juice to compete with the guitars. But it didn't take away from what was a great show, hands down. As a bonus, Paradise Rock Club serves Sam Adams Winter Lager.

Black Mountain rocked the house! The whole place was practically throbbing with their sludge rock sound. They're such a great band, the tickets were reasonably priced, as were the beers at the Paradise - which has recently been renovated. What a great show!

Awesome show, in a fantastic venue, with a killer sound system. Both bands work hard, have enough material to draw from and involve much from their newest recordings. I would go see either of the Black Angels or Black Mountain again and again, but together at $15 how could anyone go wrong?

Top notch, i dare say. I thought that maybe being in a smaller venue that was only at about 2/3 capacity could be uninspiring for the bands, but both acts impressed and seemed generally happy to be there. Loved the set lists...the lengthy jamming on "Druganaut" was highlight for me.
